Loki slipped backwards through time until he found the moment he was looking for. Wanda had just sent everyone through the wormholes when he appeared behind her.

"I should've known," she said, turning around.

"Maximoff, listen to me-"

"I've done enough listening!"

She raised her hand and blasted some red energy, hitting Loki and sending him flying through some debris.

Loki had not expected this attack and quickly thought of something.

Wanda angrily flew to his body and used her telekinesis to lift Loki and repeatedly bash him against the rubble. He yelled in pain every time, and Wanda soon tried to crush him on a rock, but it was a mere illusion. His body slowly faded away in a green light.

Wanda looked around. She felt the presence of another magic user, but hadn't an idea where he was.

Loki soon appeared in front of her.

"Looking for me?"

"Or me?" asked another Loki.

"Or perhaps me."

"No, must be me."

Hundreds of Loki's appeared out of thin air to taunt her, but Wanda shouted and slammed her hands together, causing a shockwave of red magic to destroy all the illusions.

The real Loki was the only one left. He gave her a swift look and tossed one of his knives, catching it as it came down.

"You really don't want to do this," said Loki unenthusiastically.

"I don't. But Doom demands it."

"Intrigue me! Why is it Doom is your master?"

"He has a power none can understand. He promised me something. He used to talk to me through the Darkhold before it was destroyed. He said if I did what he wanted he'd bring back the man I love."

Loki paused and nodded.

"Except he's not a man. He's an android. Vision, right?"

"What would you know of love?" asked Wanda angrily.

"I know everything of love! I know it's not as one-sided as everyone may think. I know that if you want it you mustn't wallow in self-pity. Trust me. I know you don't, but you must believe me. Doom is not the help you want. He's a sociopath. Please. Help us to fight him."

Wanda seemed to consider his words.

"There's no promise you can make that I can trust."

"Oh, there is," said Loki.

Loki pressed his hand against Wanda's head, and he gave her a look into the room the TVA was keeping the heroes of the multiverse in. But one stood out. A white android. Vision was alive.

Wanda gasped.

"No. This can't be. You must be lying."

"Search your feelings. You know what I'm showing you is true."

A tear trickled down Wanda's face, and she nodded.

Thor and Kang hit each other with all they could. Strange was out cold, and Mobius did not want to interfere and be killed.

Thor panted. He was out of his league, but he wouldn't give up. The fate of the multiverse hung in the balance.

Thor shouted, holding Mjolnir and blasting lightning at Kang as hard as he could.

Kang roared in defiance, blasting his energy at Thor.

The energy and the lightning collided, causing the ground to quake for a short while.

Kang and Thor stopped and looked at one another.

Before Thor could throw Mjolnir once again, Kang used his telekinesis to hold him in place.

Thor strained against his invisible binds.

"I could kill you now if I wanted," said the conqueror. "But I sense you may yet be useful. I want you to understand something. I was not always so... destructive."

Thor rolled his eyes.

"Oh? Am I boring you? Perhaps you'd prefer something more visual!"

Kang opened a blue portal behind Thor and shot him into it.

Thor found himself falling through what appeared to be a timeline.

The thunder god fell and landed onto a building.

FEBRUARY 17, 3156 I EARTH 8102

Thor stood and looked around. He'd had no memory of this place.

Large skyscrapers. Clear, blue skies. Flying vehicles, zooming about.

"Ravonna, you are sure you want to wed soon?"

Thor recognized that voice. It was Kang's.

"Hey!" he shouted to no response.

He saw a couple standing before him at a balcony. Kang stood there, a woman with him. He was dressed in a purple and green armor, whereas she wore blue and yellow.

"Are you not the man I love? We've gotten past the loopholes. Nothing can keep us apart now."

They hugged each other.

"Ravonna Renslayer, you are quite a marvel. I will be happy to rule alongside you, my princess. Our empire shall be one of peace and prosperity."

Thor didn't understand. Why did Kang send him here?

Suddenly, a blue blast came out of the sky, shooting down the building.

Thor appeared down below on the street, being forced to watch the building as it fell. When the dust settled, Kang emerged.

"Ravonna! Ravonna, my love, where are you?!"

He dug through some rubble and was disheartened at what he saw.

"No. No, no!"

Ravonna hadn't survived the destruction. She was dead. Kang held her body in his arms and he cried.

Thor at once felt pity for him.

A massive ship landed down in front of Kang. A large hole appeared, and out came Immortus, Rama Tut, and the Scarlet Centurion.

Kang looked at them.

"What have you done?!"

"Her death... is a canon event in all our lives," Immortus insisted.

"You... you're... you're all me?"

"That's right, Nathaniel," said the Centurion.

"Her death is meant to happen," said Rama Tut. "But soon you'll see it is not a burden. It's a blessing. It brings all the Kangs of the multiverse together to bring about a peaceful rule. A sacred rule."

Kang stammered.

"I-I don't believe that."

"Come now, Nathaniel," said Immortus, "would we lie... to ourself?"

Kang sighed. He sniffled when he looked at Ravonna's body, but he looked back at his variants.

"So be it, then. Show me what it is you are promising."

Thor slowly began to understand. This wasn't an illusion or a trick. He'd lived with Loki long enough to tell. Kang was trying to show Thor his struggles.

The view faded, and Kang appeared before Thor.

"So you see? You understand my struggles?"

"The death of your love doesn't justify killing universes."

"That's not it," said Kang, shaking his head.

"Oh? Enlighten me, what is, then?"

Kang gave Thor a stern look.

"Betrayal."

Thor looked and saw he was in a ship, and the present Kang stood next to him.

The younger Kang, Immortus, Tut and the Centurion stood before a large window, and timelines were visible outside it. Some were slowly fading out.

"I've said many a time we should stop! I destroyed Earth 394 and all the others to prove something. You've ignored my warnings! All of them!"

"The small price to pay for our empire to exist," remarked Centurion.

"You promised me peace! A sacred rule! There's nothing sacred of this. You're liars. Hypocrites!"

Thor seemed saddened to watch this memory.

The past Kang's armor suddenly surrounded him. He shouted and prepared to blast his variants, but the Centurion shot an energy net that surrounded him and caused him to writhe in agony.

"It appears... you're no longer to be trusted," said Immortus.

"He must be banished!" exclaimed Rama Tut.

"Into the Quantum Realm. A space he'll never be found," said Centurion, shooting Kang with a blue light that made him disappear.

The view disappeared once more. Kang and Thor were back at the End of Time.

"So you understand now? I have to kill universes to stop the incursions. But more importantly, I have to kill my variants. No one shall listen to me besides your brother. Will you?"

Thor didn't know what to say. He soon nodded his head and came to a decision.

"I will help you kill your variants. You are on your own in killing universes."

Mobius attempted to wake Strange up, smacking him on the face.

Kang opened a portal underneath them, dropping them into an unknown location.

"Allies of yours are in danger. We must save them and kill my other selves."

Suddenly a wormhole opened. Out of it came Loki, Wanda, the three Spider-Men (in their new symbiote suits), Skaar, the Maestro, and a weakened Namor.

There was an awkward glace.

"Do not fret, he's on our side," said Thor. "Our allies are in danger and we're going to save them. We are going to kill his variants-"

"Variants?" asked Namor. "I will come. I have nothing left. Though, my skin is weary with dry land and my-"

The mutant was interrupted by Skaar spitting on him. The hulkling's spit was enough to restore Namor's strength, albeit to much disgust.

"We can't all go," said Loki. "A sorcerer is yet to be dealt with."

"Doom," noted Kang.

Wanda nodded.

"He's in the Citadel."

"Brother, you must rescue Love."

Loki nodded and ran forth. The Asgardian brothers hugged for a moment, and slowly let each other go.

Kang opened a portal. He, Thor, Skaar and Namor parted ways with their companions.

Loki, Wanda, the Peters and the Maestro looked toward the Citadel. They were going to fight Doctor Doom.

Mobius and Strange yelled, falling into the sand.

Mobius groaned and looked up at the figure that stood before them. It was Marc Spector, the Moon Knight.

"Need a ride?"
