MARCH 5TH, 3141 I EARTH 8102
Nathaniel Richards sat at the desk in his room, tinkering with experiments. He was working on circular devices capable of holding together string as it stretched out to make a quilt. That was, before an explosion was heard behind him, and he was blasted forward, right into the wall.
Kang emerged from the blast. He looked at his younger self as he got to his feet, bleeding on his forehead.
"Well, well," said Kang. "Who have we besides ourself?"
Ravonna walked up the stairs and got closer to the man at the throne.
"Hello?"
Loki strained, still holding back the blade from cutting through the timelines. But alas, his strength gave out. The sword cut through a timeline and was coming straight at Loki's face, before he caught it by the handle and stood, swinging it down and using the tip to connect the timelines. He dug it further through the throne, penetrating the ends and holding them together. He turned and was surprised to see Ravonna Renslayer behind him.
"L-Loki? What are you doing here? What is this place?"
"Ravonna, listen to me. Your destiny depends on it."
"So, you're me?"
"Yes. I am your future self. Your destiny. I've told you, you must carry my legacy if I am to die.The multiverse must be destroyed."
"No! I-it can't be... I've studied it, I've... I've..."
"There is... no other way. When we destroy the timelines, we can build anew. But there is something you must do first. You must prove to be my successor."
"And how am I supposed to do that?"
Kang placed a hand on his younger self's shoulder, and his armor and technology transferred itself onto him.
"You must find an alternate universe, and kill Avengers. You understand how the mechanics of the suit work. You won't let me down."
With that, the younger Kang closed his eyes as the suit shook, and disappeared.
May 4th, 2012 I Earth 17689
Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Clint Barton, Bruce Banner, Thor Odinson and Natasha Romanoff had defeated the Chitauri army, along with Loki. Although it was brutal, Thor had to kill his mischievous brother, and he felt horrible deep down. Something did not seem right.
The six were sitting around, eating at a shawarma joint, when a figure exploded next to them. It was a young Kang, fully suited and having used the time travel tech to learn fighting techniques throughout all time.
Thor dropped his shawarma and grabbed Mjolnir.
"Who are you?"
"I... am Nathaniel Richards. But to myself and my enemies, I am Kang. The conqueror. The destroyer, and the savior."
"And what do you want from us?" asked Steve aggressively as he held his shield close.
"...Your blood."
Nathaniel shouted and held up his hand, blasting at Steve, who came prepared and blocked the hit with his shield.
Thor threw Mjolnir at Nathaniel, and the young conqueror did not have time to react as it hit him in the chest, knocking him through the wall of the restaurant.
Tony made the command for JARVIS to suit him up, and Bruce ordered Natasha to make him angry.
Thor swung down at Nathaniel, but he dodged, leaping to his feet.
Steve leapt in, and Nathaniel began to take Thor and Steve in hand-to-hand combat. Steve swung his shield, but Nathaniel ducked, and it hit Mjolnir from him.
Nathaniel used his telekinesis to pick up Steve, throwing him into an alleyway.
Clint leapt in, shooting an arrow at Nathaniel's face, but it hit the mask with a plink and bounced off, not even leaving a scratch.
Nathaniel did a flip, avoiding Thor's wild swing with Mjolnir.
Tony flew in and aimed a missle at Nathaniel, shooting it at him. But the young Kang was not to be taken lightly. He caught the missle with his bare hand, and redirected it at Thor, blasting him through a wall.
Natasha swung down and kicked Nathaniel in the face, but he grabbed her by the leg and swung her into a direct hit from Hawkeye, and the arrow went straight through her gut.
Clint gasped in horror. Nathaniel threw Natasha's body, and she fell lifelessly to the ground, gasping for breath and bleeding on the street.
The Hulk grabbed Nathaniel by the legs and began to completely ragdoll him, but as Tony sent a laser at him, Nathaniel redirected it at the Hulk's face, knocking him back.
Clint angrily grabbed Nathaniel by the throat, attempting to strangle him before he felt a sharp pain in his chest.
Nathaniel had crafted an energy shaft and impaled Clint with it.
"No..." Steve groaned weakly as he got to he feet.
Nathaniel threw Clint aside and threw a punch at Thor, and their fists collided. Tony flew down and attempted to kick Nathaniel down, but he used his telekinesis to make the suit stop in place.
"Shit!" Stark grunted.
Nathaniel created pressure around the arc reactor, and it exploded in Stark's chest, killing him instantly. Shards of Tony's suit spewed around.
Thor roared in fury and kept trying to hit Nathaniel with Mjolnir, but he was too agile. He dodged every hit, and delivered a swift punch to Thor's face, knocking him back slightly.
Steve threw his shield, but Nathaniel ducked in time as the shield hit Thor.
The Hulk grabbed Nathaniel and prepared to tear him apart, but he created a large energy blast that stunned the Hulk, reverting him back into little Bruce Banner.
Thor blasted lightning at Nathaniel, but he redirected the hit at Steve, as he cried out in agony.
Bruce picked up Natasha's gun and tried to shoot Nathaniel in the face, but the bullets bounced off him. Nathaniel used his telekinesis to hit Bruce back, impaling him on some sharp, fallen rubble.
"NO!" shouted Steve in shock.
Thor couldn't let this keep happening. He threw Mjolnir at Nathaniel's face, and his aim was true, but the young conqueror stepped aside as Mjolnir flew past him and Steve held up his shield. Mjolnir collided with the shield, creating a blast that knocked the three down.
Steve, in a last attempt to save himself and Thor, threw his shield at Nathaniel, who caught it and swung it down hard on Thor as he got up, decapitating him.
Fear struck Steve. He knew he wouldn't be able to come out of this alive. Suddenly, he looked at Thor's hammer and leapt to grab it, but Nathaniel kicked him, knocking him back entirely.
Steve grunted as he got up, looking Nathaniel dead in the eyes.
"I could do this all damn day!"
"That right?"
Steve threw a punch at Nathaniel, but he dodged and decked Steve in the gut. Steve suddenly held his hand out and Mjolnir flew into it. Captain America was worthy of the godly weapon. He swung hard, hitting Nathaniel in the face and barely cracking his helmet. Steve leapt over Nathaniel and tried to wail him in the back of the head, but an energy shield prevented him from doing so. Steve did a somersault towards where Thor's body used to be, and he picked up his disgraced, bloodied shield.
Steve shouted as he shot a beam of lightning at the shield. Nathaniel's power was not so strong yet, and the energy field gave way.
Steve rained lightning down on Nathaniel, who redirected them at the captain.
Steve simply used his shield to block the blast.
Nathaniel shot an energy beam directly at Steve, hitting him as he unconsciously collapsed.
Nathaniel looked down at the man, before Kang appeared behind him.
"So, your mission is complete."
"What... what have I done?"
"What was right. You've proven yourself. Come."
Kang created a portal. Nathaniel looked back at Steve as he lay there, pretending to be dead. Nathaniel eventually went through the portal with Kang.
Steve got up after the variants left. He looked around at his fallen allies, and he wept.
