Sam and Milly were in the park across from their motel to get some fresh air for a couple hours outside of the stifling room.

"Sam look!" Milly exclaimed, excitedly running over to him where he sat on a park bench.

The nine-year-old stood next to him cupping her hands over something.

"Look what I found." She said before opening her top hand, revealing a ladybug crawling around in her hand. She giggled at the tickling sensation which put a smile on Sam's face.

"Oh wow," he replied, playing along with her enthusiasm.

"What is it?" She asked, looking up at him with her big green eyes that reminded him so much of Dean's.

"That's called a ladybug."

"A ladybug," Milly repeated in awe looking back down at it. "Well, she's very pretty."

Sam smiled fondly at the kid and watched her run back over to the bush where she had been crouched before. She gently placed her hand on a leaf and let it crawl off her hand. Sometimes Milly seemed so much younger than nine, but it was because she was still discovering so many things for the first time. She was just a handful of months old, after all. It was only last week when she discovered ice cream and the concept of a zoo.

As the sun began to set, Sam walked over to see the girl laying on her stomach in the grass observing the inside of a flower.

"C'mon ladybug, time to go."

Milly looked up and smiled at the new nickname before getting up and following him back to the motel room.

When they returned to the room, they found Dean and Cas in the middle of a very urgent situation.

Milly sat down in an armchair with her legs crisscrossed, holding Frodo in her lap. Whilst drawing a symbol in chalk on the table, Cas explained to the three of them how Anna was planning on killing Sam to remove Lucifer's vessel from the playing field.

"Really? Anna? I don't believe it." Dean asked, pacing back and forth slowly.

"It's true."

"Who's that?" Milly whispered to Sam sitting on her left.

"Very long story but she's an angel we know."

She nodded in understanding, having decided a while back that unless Sam and Dean specified otherwise, she was to assume all angels, except Cas, were bad news. She hadn't much experience with them otherwise and she was thankful for that.

"So she's gone all Glenn Close, huh? That's awesome." Dean grumbled, and Castiel straightened, giving him a confused look.

"Who's Glenn Close?"

"No one, just this psycho bitch who likes to boil rabbits."

Milly lowered her eyebrows in disgust at the description, squeezing her elephant a little closer to her.

"So the plan to kill me, would it actually stop Satan?" Sam wondered.

"No, Sam, come on."

"Cas, what do you think? Does Anna have a point?" Sam asked Cas, ignoring his brother's response.

"No. She's, uh, Glenn Close."

"I don't get it. We're looking for the chick that wants to gank Sam. Why poke the bear?"

"Anna will keep trying. She won't give up until Sam is dead. So we kill her first." Cas said, pouring oil into the bowl sitting on the table.

"Zod ah ma ra la ee est la gi ro sa."

The bowl shot red flames and Cas stepped away from the table. He leaned forward on the back of a chair, eyes closed and breathing heavily.

"I've found her."

"Where is she?" Milly asked.

"Not where. When. It's nineteen seventy-eight."

"What? Why nineteen seventy-eight? I wasn't even born yet." Sam questioned, standing up beside Dean.

"You won't be if she kills your parents," Cas responded gravely.

"What?"

"Anna can't get to you because of me. So she's going after them."

"Take us back right now," Dean demanded.

"And deliver you right to Anna? I should go alone."

"They're our parents. Cas, we're going."

"It's not that easy." The angel replied, taking a few steps away.

"Why not?" Sam asked.

"Time travel was difficult even with the powers of heaven at my disposal."

"Which got cut off."

"So, what, you're like a Delorean without enough plutonium?" Dean asked and Cas gave him a pointed look.

"I don't understand that reference. But I'm telling you, taking this trip, with passengers no less—it'll weaken me if not kill me."

"Channel me." Milly injected, causing all three of them to look at her in surprise.

"What? I read. Can you channel whatever power I have?" She asked, getting her feet and putting Frodo down on the chair behind her.

"Could that work?" Dean asked, turning back to Cas who gave him an uncertain look.

"They're our mom and dad. If we can save them, and not just from Anna... I mean if we can set things right, we have to try."

1978

Sam and Dean appeared in the middle of the street and a car horn honked, coming to a stop inches from them.

"Get out of the street!"

They quickly headed for the sidewalk and another car nearly ran them over on the way. They got to safety between two parked cars and sighed in relief.

"Did we make it?" Sam wondered and Dean gestured to one of the cars.

"Unless they're bringing Pintos back into production, I, uh, I'd say yes."

Dean turned his head and noticed Castiel and Milly collapsed against the nearest car. The nine-year-old was slumped against the angel, whose nose was bleeding.

"Crap. Hey." Dean said, crouching in front of them. His heart was pounding in his chest as he felt the girls' pulse.

"Hey, hey, hey. Is Milly okay?" Sam asked, checking on Cas.

"I think so. Must've drained her god battery pretty good getting us here."

Castiel sat up with a grunt and Dean helped him.

"Take it easy. Take it easy. Are you alright?

"I'm fine. I'm much better than I expected."

He went to stand but he just spat blood out and passed out along with Milly.

"Cas?" Dean asked.

Sam put his hand in front of Cas's mouth.

"He's breathing. Sort of. What do we do?"

Milly's eyes began to flutter open slowly and she winced at the bright sunlight.

"Mils? Hey hey, are you okay?" Dean asked, holding her face in his hand.

"Did it work?" She mumbled, sitting up with the help of Dean.

"Sure did."

After setting Cas and Milly up in a motel room, Dean joined Sam outside where he'd just found their Mom and Dad's address.

"So I paid for five nights up in the honeymoon suite and told the manager, 'Do not disturb no matter what.' You know what he said to me? 'Yeah. Don't sweat it. Want to buy some dope?'"

Sam snorted in amusement.

"Dope. We ought to stick around here, buy some stock in Microsoft."

"Yeah, we might have to if Cas doesn't recover. Is he all right?"

"What do I look like—Dr. Angel, Medicine Woman? He'll wake up. He's, you know, tough for a little nerdy dude with wings."

"If he landed like that with Milly's help, hopefully, Anna's was worse. Should buy us some time. How's Milly feeling?"

"She's alright, just pouting because she doesn't want to stay up there and rest. Did you find 'em?"

"Yeah. Uh, the Winchesters. Four-eight-five Robintree." Sam replied.

"Let's go pop in on the folks."

Suddenly walking out of the motel behind Dean, came the littlest Winchester and Sam stopped in his tracks.

"Milly? I thought you were staying with Cas."

Dean turned around and gave her a pointed look.

"She is staying with Cas. Go back up to the room and charge up," he told her, pointing to the building.

"I'm fine now, I swear. Besides, it smells really bad in there." she grimaced. The other reason that she was less willing to admit to them, was that she really wanted to meet John and Mary. Sam and Dean didn't talk about their parents often and whenever Milly asked about them, she could tell it wasn't exactly a topic they were comfortable with. Still, she wanted to know what they were like.

"Alright fine. Let's go pop in on the grandparents."

She smiled in victory and began to follow them down the street.

When they arrived at the address Sam had found, they knew it was the right place by the impala parked out front.

"Sam. Sam. Wait, wait, wait, wait," Dean said, stopping him from walking up to the door.

"Dean, Anna could be here any second."

"What exactly are we gonna march up there and tell 'em?"

"Uh, the truth?"

"What, that their sons and demigod granddaughter are back from the future to save them from an angel? Gone Terminator? Come on. Those movies haven't even come out yet."

"Yeah, that might be too much." Milly agreed.

"Well, then tell her demons are after 'em. I mean, she thinks you're a hunter, right?"

"Yeah, a hunter who disappeared right when her dad died. She's gonna love me." Dean mumbled before thinking to himself.

"Just follow my lead," he said and the other two followed him up to the house.

They rang the doorbell and shortly after, a beautiful young woman opened the door. Milly noticed how the moment she recognized Dean her face fell. She wondered what had happened.

"Hi, Mary."

"You can't be here."

"I'm sorry if this is a bad time."

"You don't understand. I'm not- I don't do that anymore. I have a normal life now. You have to go."

She went to close the door but Dean held out an arm and stopped her.

"I'm sorry, but this is important, okay?"

Suddenly a man cleared his throat and opened the door wider. Both of the brothers recoiled slightly at the realization that the young man was their father.

"Sorry, sweetie, they're just…"

"Mary's cousins." Dean interrupted, and she smiled awkwardly. "Yeah, we couldn't stop through town without swinging by and saying 'hey', now, could we?" Dean explained casually, shaking John's hand.

"Dean."

"You look familiar," John told him.

"Really? Yeah, you do, too, actually, you know? We must have met some time. Small towns, right? Got to love 'em."

"I'm John."

He held his hand out to Sam who shook it, not being able to help his eyes tearing up.

"This is Sam."

"Sam. Uh, Mary's father was a Sam."

"Uh, it's a—it's a family name. And this one back here is Emilia, my daughter."

"That's crazy. My mom's name is Amelia. Millie for short."

"Oh wow, that is crazy." The girl laughed nervously, clearing her throat a little.

"Well, they were just on their way out," Mary told him with a fake smile plastered on her face.

"What? They just got here. Real happy to meet folks from Mary's side. Please come on in for a drink."

"Twist my arm," Dean replied and Mary glared at him.

Milly sat between Dean and Sam, who kept staring at Mary like she was the most beautiful thing they'd ever seen.

She probably was.

"Are you sure you're okay, Sam?" John asked in concern.

"W—oh. Yeah, yeah. Um, I'm just, um—You are so beautiful." He told Mary.

"He means that in a—a non-weird, wholesome, family kind of a way," Dean added, noticing the way John leaned forward.

"Yeah, right." Sam nodded.

"We haven't seen Mary in quite some time, and—See, she's the spitting image of our mom. I mean, it's—it's—"

"Eerie." Sam finished.

"So, how are you guys related?"

"You know, uh, distantly," Dean responded, not entirely sure what to say.

"Oh. So you knew Mary's parents?"

"Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Mary's dad was, uh, pretty much like a grandpa to Sam and I."

"Oh. That was tragic—that heart attack." John said, taking Mary's hand.

"Yes, it was." Dean agreed.

"So, uh, what are you guys doing in town, anyway?"

"Uh, business, you know."

"Oh, yeah? What line of work?"

Sam and Dean replied simultaneously.

"Plumbing."

"Scrap metal."

"Oh, gosh. It's almost seven. I hate to be rude, but I got to get dinner ready." Mary said standing up.

"Maybe they could stay," John suggested.

"I'm sure they have to leave," Mary replied just as the phone rang in the other room.

"Uh, look, please stay. You know, it would mean a lot to me. I haven't met much of Mary's side of the family." John said, before leaving the room.

"You have to leave. Now." Mary growled, as soon as John was out of earshot.

"Okay, just listen—" Dean tried.

"No, you listen. Last time I saw you, a demon killed my parents. Now you waltz in here like you're family? Whatever you want—no. Leave me alone."

"But you and John are in danger," Milly told her firmly, deciding to just tell her the truth. Mary looked down at the girl who had barely spoken the entire time.

"What are you talking about?"

"Something's coming for you," Sam told her.

"Demon?"

"Not exactly," Dean replied, exchanging looks with his brother.

"Well, what, then?"

"It's kind of hard to explain, okay? It's—it's—"

"An angel," Milly responded, cutting Dean off and Mary laughed.

"What? There's no such thing."

"Yeah, there is. They're stronger than demons and sorry for my language, bigger sons of the B-word."

"Why would an angel want to kill us?"

"It's a long story, and we'll tell you the whole thing, but right now, you've got to trust us, and we got to go. Look at my face and tell me if I'm lying to you." Dean told her, looking at her so seriously, that Mary couldn't help but believe him.

"Okay. Where do we go?"

"Out of here. We got to move now, though." Sam replied.

"Okay. But what do I tell John?"

"Just tell him—" He stopped and looked around.

"John?"

He led the way into the hallway, where Mary noticed a note by the phone.

"Back in 15 J"
