Bleach: Temptation Island!

Shirahime and the others in her town have been trying to find a solution to Orihime's immature and suffocating infatuation with Ichigo. Perhaps well-meaning, but tiresome nonetheless. That is, until a gameshow offers a possible solution: Temptation Island! Will Orihime still desire the object of her affection, or will she desire another?

2. Chapter 2--Arriving on the Island

Chapter 2: Arriving on the Island

(Temptation Island Studio, Off the California Coast)

Ichigo and Orihime found themselves on the gameshow's set on an island off the coast of Los Angeles. The show's staff, along with two other couples, had also arrived. Orhihime felt indignant at having to compete with the other women. "Miserable pricks", she thought. "I'll show them! They're just here for money."

Providing the first episode's material for this classy show, the women were on a couch in one room, with the men in another room. They would each be interviewed about their connection to their partner, with sappy music overlaid. The women's couch seemed an odd choice; surely, a newer one should have been used? The arms were sticky for some unknown reason, and it smelled like vaseline.

The men were interviewed first:

Thad, 23, Dumpwater, FL

"I've been dating Crystal since I met her at a gentleman's club. I think she's a great lady and we'll last longer than the others. My dad's been married four times and he's taught me everything I know about women."

Percy, 21, Salt Lake City, UT

"I've been in love with Sharice since we were 3! I think the Lord decided that we were perfect for each other. When I went on Mission in Uganda, at 18, I decided to propose to her when I got back and she said YES! And we'll still be together after this."

Ichigo, 19, Tokyo

"Uh... I'm here because Orihime is kind of childhood friend, and she's just grown closer to me over time. I'm her first real male interest-"

"CUT! We need more emotion and interest. Say it more like she was your first love, and you're getting married", said one of the interviewers. Viewers at home would only watch if someone's deepest and most vulnerable emotions were at stake.

Ichigo wasn't really comfortable with saying that, but he didn't really have a choice if he wanted to stay. He "rephrased" his lines, and this was sufficient.

Over in the women's room, their interviewer and head of the show, came in to begin. He appeared to be half-composed of sweat and hair grease. He came off as a retired adult film actor, with an arrest record for meth, public urination and/ or vandalizing a zoo. In other words, exactly the type of guy in charge of this operation.

"Hey ladies, we'll begin, starting with Crystal over here. Maybe if your guy decides to cheat on you, then I can fulfill your needs." He leered briefly, surely a sexy turn-on. Then the cameras came on.

Crystal, 41, Dumpwater, FL

"I learned true love when I met Thad. Our eyes met when I was working late one night at the Angry Beaver. I was just finishing my second song when I noticed he smoked the same cigarettes I did. We hit it off and we've been together ever since."

Sharice, 18, Salt Lake City, UT

"Percy is a guy I've known since kindergarten. He was the first, and ONLY, guy I've been around without a chaperone. I don't plan on letting outside temptation get in the way of that. I saved my first hug for him, and we'll share alot more."

Orihime, 18, Tokyo

"Oh PUH-LEASE! I have to listen to this retarded garbage out of these women! An aging monument to keeping kids off drugs, and a deluded VIRGIN who thinks a handshake counts as second base!"

The gameshow staff loved it. This kind of outburst didn't need any coaching, and could probably be used in the promo material.

Orihime wasn't done. "I LOVE my Ichigo, and I'll be damned if I'm beaten out by some randos. So bring on whatever challenge you have."

The other women seemed exasperated at this, but this was merely a prelude to the drama typical of these types of shows. They partly knew this, and might assume Orihime was bluffing and would flame out early. This may be a miscalculation.

The men came into this room, and the gameshow host broke down what would happen next: "Alright ladies and gentlemen, we've asked you what brought you here. And your true love will face a test. If it endures, it can survive anything. The men will be staying in one dorm, and the women in another. We'll begin tomorrow with our first challenge; it will be beach-themed so dress accordingly. See you then."

All six people went off to their rooms and waited for this challenge. What could possibly challenge the bonds of much-storied true love?
