It has been a few days since Bat Inhumanoid's reign of terror was put to a screeching stop by the Shinkaigers. After recuperating from the battle and having their vehicles checked over for maintenance, Takeru and his team decided to proceed to taking a journey across Kalos, even though M.Y.T.H.O.S themselves would try and fight them as part of their currently escalating war. However, the Shinkaigers themselves felt no regrets.
Over those past few days, Takeru, Ryouma, Hikaru and Erina would proceed to get their starter Pokémon, in Ryouma's case to assist with the Sakuragi Laboratory's research. Takeru and Erina had got themselves their Froakie and Fennekin from Professor Platane, which had gotten a fair bit older since he met their parents, but nonetheless is still working on his laboratory even though he was getting older by every passing second. With Hikaru getting the remaining Chespin, and Ryouma being given a Charmander by Platane, the team then proceeded to head off to Route 4 before finally arriving to Santalune City, where they currently are now.
The team themselves was currently enjoying a leisure walk along the streets of Santalune City as there were no attacks from M.Y.T.H.O.S (yet, for the record), and after recuperating from the battle, they had decided to make the ultimate best out of the peace that they had fought hard for. However, there still was some paranoia among themselves.
"Takeru, for the love of Arceus, I'm getting worried as hell already! What if M.Y.T.H.O.S did have something up their sleeves and are going to attack us already!?" Ran said in a panicked tone. He was the one out of the team who was the most paranoid about it.
"Ran, what did I say when we were camping on Route 4 yesterday!? Man up! You're just being too paranoid about all this shit." Takeru replied.
"He's right, Brainiac. Besides, you don't want to jinx it yet, do you?" Hikaru added.
"Fair... I'm just getting worried so much, you know... Sorry, guys."
"We're not alone, Ran. We've got each other's backs, keep that in mind. We just need to relax. They aren't going to plague us again yet." Ryouma reassured.
Ran's facial expression then shifted. He was tense a few seconds ago, but was now calm and collected. "Merci, Black."
With that, the quintet continued on their walk. Little did they know, their arch-nemesis indeed has a plan waiting to be enacted.
Olympus Castle, Kalos
We then shift our attention away to the court room of the Olympus Castle. Apollo was currently explaining the plan that he had thought up to Hera as many Hoplite Soldiers knelt down behind him to salute their Empress.
"With this, the whole of Kalos will be infected by the virus that Cobra Inhumanoid has in his fangs. We just need to find a victim which we can use to successfully test out the pathogen, then let him infect more people until he succumbs to death."
"Very well, Apollo. I shall need to see the plan proceed flawlessly. As always, failures will not be tolerated. Prevent the Shinkaigers from interfering with our plans to the best of your ability. Zeus will not be happy to hear of our failures." Hera ordered.
Just then, a Hoplite Soldier then ran up to the both of them before kneeling down.
"Your Imperial Majesty, Your Highness, we have a message!" The soldier said.
"What? From who?" Apollo asked.
"His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Zeus. The message says that he will be returning with Princess Artemis shortly. He has unfortunately heard of our failures against the Shinkaigers, and thus has said that he will be quick to assume leadership. That is all from me, Your Imperial Majesty, Your Highness." The soldier then made his way to the back along with his compatriots.
"So, Emperor Zeus has finally decided to return." Apollo muttered audibly.
"Well then, we shall proceed with the plan at once. Deploy Cobra Inhumanoid immediately!"
"Yes, ma'am!" Apollo replied.
Going back to the Shinkaigers, the team themselves were currently taking a stop at a cafe to drink up and relax, however the team had realized that people were currently screaming and running for their dear lives. They then suddenly noticed an Arbok-based cyborg monster. This was Cobra Inhumanoid, the newest of the M.Y.T.H.O.S cyborgs. This alerted Ran and Ryouma, who immediately ran to evacuate people from the area.
Ryouma then took on a defensive stance. "Hold it right there, M.Y.T.H.O.S monster!"
"C̵͖͓̐r̶̭̈͠a̶̭̻͑͘p̶̻̤̅̓!̶̨̆ ̴̲̈́Ḧ̶̪́ă̷̮̯̅v̶̬̻̀e̵̹̦͂̽ ̴͗̑͜I̵̠͌͌ ̶̰̆́b̸͙͜͝e̷̹̺̽͆e̸͎̺̅n̶̹̼̍ ̸̜̻̑̑f̴̻͘o̶̧̰̎u̴̼̽n̸̹͛d̴͘͜ ̸̘͎͂a̶̗̓̒l̷̹̉̌r̴̈̌͜ĕ̶͉̖̃à̶̩d̶̩̈́ỹ̸̺!̸͈̮̎̕?̵̥̱̄"
"You seem to be based off of an Arbok. Cobra Inhumanoid, I'm guessing?" Takeru said, having caught up to his teammates while trying to guess the Inhumanoid based off of his appearance.
Cobra Inhumanoid then gets shocked for a few seconds, however he then regained his composure. "Ḭ̸͗n̶̢̪͝d̵̟͋e̴̖̕e̵͈̲̎̓ḑ̶̈͐!̶̭̑ ̷͕̼̾̚Í̶̝̾ ̴̱̜͘a̴̭̾͠m̷͉̽͘ ̴̙̑C̸̪̈́̀o̷͈̟̽b̷͕͇̓r̸͚͒a̶̗̓̍ ̶̭̐̐ͅI̷͚̔̇n̵̫̲̈́h̷̟̅u̴̡̦̽m̶͚̀̈́ạ̶̢͛̚n̵̢͐̉͜o̴̼̿̅i̵̻̗͑d̵̗̳͐ ̶̡̡̀͌o̷̙͌̅f̶̡̀̔ ̸̳̭̾͊M̶͕̈́̇.̷̰̥͂Y̸͋̐͜.̴̮̐̇Ţ̴̃.̶̘͘H̷͎̙͝.̴̯͝O̴̲͛̓.̵͌͘ͅS̷̗̒!̷̛͍̝̿ ̴̬̊͠S̸̜̿͝ḣ̸͕̘̈́i̶͕͝ͅń̶̟̍k̸̥̅͜a̸̮̺̎i̷͎̞͒͊ğ̷̨ḛ̶̜͛r̸̡͙̈́ş̵̼̃,̵̯̘̕ ̶̯̽I̷͖̿́ ̴͔͌̾ẃ̷̬o̵̻͊͝n̶̢̼̄̀'̶̙̰̿ţ̸͇̓̀ ̵͍̟͠l̶͎̄e̵̪̦͝t̴͙̘̃͝ ̶̥̎y̵̙̚͝o̵͕͗ͅù̸̲͂ ̶̨̊e̵͎͒s̵̖̋̆ć̴̥̰̉ä̸̰͖p̷̞̔͝e̶̬͈̎ ̷̫̝̐͊ț̷̋͐h̵̯̊̓i̶̮͝͝ş̴͖͛ ̵̬̄t̷͓̉̒i̵̫̒̈́m̴̪̀ê̷̠̎!̴̰̬̄̃"
"You idiots practically scream your plans... Arbok is a Poison-type Pokémon. I have a hunch that your plans this time have something to do with it." Ran said.
"Well then, I think it's time we crush you little persistent fucking snake to bits. Guys?" Takeru said as Hikaru and Erina had arrived to the area. The other team members then understood the memo rather immediately.
"Spark Change!"
Takeru then begins his team's trademark roll call, snapping his fingers with everyone following suit.
"Shinkai Red." Takeru started off.
"Shinkai Yellow." Ran followed.
"Shinkai Black!" Ryouma continued.
"Shinkai Blue!" Hikaru added.
"Shinkai Pink." Erina ended.
"Shuugo Sentai, Shinkaiger!" The team said in unison. They later charged into battle, taking out their preferred weapons.
EVOLBLADE!
EVOLARROW!
EVOLGUN!
EVOLROD!
EVOLRAPIER!
With that, the team began their direct offensive, with Takeru also contacting Shigeru and Lillie about the attack while clashing his sword.
The Shinkaigers then continued to struggle inflicting damage to the cobra monster, however they had done a great deal just to knock the monster back a few feet.
Takeru then inflicts one last slash using his own sword, causing the monster to groan and lament in frustration.
"D̵̛̰͜a̴̙͠m̵̼̑n̸̯͗,̸͍̇̊ ̶̧͕̅̇w̶̯̮̐h̴͚̞̕y̴̜͙͊͗ ̴̩̞̏͘w̸̛͈õ̷͑͜ű̵͈͕̿l̸̫͔̋̚d̴̝̭̾n̶͉͠'̷̯̂̾ͅṭ̷̖͛̀ ̶̦̰̍̊y̸̰̑o̸̯̥̚ṷ̴̥̃ ̴͓̆͘j̵̫̔u̷̖̎s̷̮͈͗͠ţ̶̞̎ ̸͍͍̆ḑ̷͌į̸͖͋͝ẻ̴̮͆ ̶̺̅͌à̶͖l̸̞̔ŗ̸̦̈ȩ̵̅a̴̰͊̚ͅd̶̖̔̃y̸̤͘!̶̮̔?̴̲͌̚" Cobra Inhumanoid yelled.
Takeru then sports an 'Are you serious?' look, only for it to be obscured by his visor and mouthpiece. "You've clearly underestimated our powers, Cobra Inhumanoid. It'll take a lot more effort for you just to kill us with the current circumstances."
"T̵̖͍̓h̵͉͊e̸̹̖͒̌n̶̜̑ ̵̻͍̌Ì̴̬̪'̷̬̒l̷̛̞̈́l̷͔͐́ ̴̨̦̅̓j̸̮͉̔ú̸̡͍͌ş̵̳͘ţ̸̞́ ̴͓̾͝h̸̛̘̯͊ạ̵̾ͅv̷̲͑̿ͅë̸͓́ ̸̺͉̓t̶̮̏͝o̸̜͝ ̵̜̍͘d̵̡͍́̕ō̴̥ ̵̡̏t̴͔͍̔̓ḫ̴̏ï̴͎s̴̱̈́̚!̵̨̜̄̎ ̶̙͑V̶̧͗͘ͅè̶̫̳̿n̸̠̕͝ǫ̶̒m̷͕͕̌o̴͎̔̎u̷̻͐̈́s̵̿ͅ ̸̝̖̇̑S̵̭̼̀t̶̰̃̌ì̴̦ṇ̴̋̿g̷̝͋͠!̶͙̲̄̈́" The cobra monster said before launching a deadly, venomous stinger. This was the much more lethal version of Poison Sting.
The Shinkaigers then swerved out of the way to avoid the stinger, but it ended up hitting Ryouma, causing him lots of pain from the venom, enough to knock him out cold. Unfortunately, the venom contained samples of Cobra Inhumanoid's viral pathogen, and the plan that they had plotted involves any infected victim to spread the pathogen further under mind control and kill off most of the population.
"Black!" Hikaru shouted in worry. He was clearly not liking this.
Cobra Inhumanoid then laughed maniacally, before proceeding to retreat. "I̷̧͓̔̃'̷̭̙̒̉l̴̫̪̕ḽ̶̖̎ ̷̬̥̌̋r̶̠̀̀ȅ̷̗̰m̴̛͈e̵͇̽͗ṃ̴̑b̵̖͒e̵̗̾̈́ř̴̤̘ ̶̜͆͝t̷̡̛̝̑h̷̡̟͒́į̷̛͈̀ṣ̸̛̲ ̴͙̰͌̐v̶̗̾͜i̵̞̋͌c̶̩̓̋t̷͉͌̽ó̵̪̬r̷̎̏ͅȳ̴̥͜,̶̢̰̆ ̷͓̭̀S̵̢͌͜h̵̯͕̊͌ì̸͉n̵̮͎̓k̵̦̘̄a̸̧͒̌i̷͔̭͗g̵͔͝ẹ̸͘ř̶̨s̵̼̎ͅ!̵̘̗̊ ̶̢͌̚T̶͔̅̉i̸͔͛ľ̵͇̋ͅḽ̵̡̛̓ ̶̖̟̈́w̸̲̃̆ͅè̶̤̋ ̷̞̻̿m̷̡̭̾e̴̡̺̐ḙ̸̇ṭ̴̔͛ ̷̞̈́̈ä̸͈́̒ǵ̷͔a̸̯͝i̴̢̤͌n̸̰̾͗͜!̶͈̻̑"
"That snake bastard..." Takeru cursed. He then quickly retreated back to the Guardia Base Kalos with his teammates via the EvolStriker, all the while their enemies were ecstatic at their cyborg monster having finally injured one of the Shinkaigers.
Guardia Base Kalos, Lumiose City
"And he then pretty much just disappeared out of the blue. Our powers aren't effective enough to him." Ran said, holding his U-Phone as the team was currently in a call with their mentors. Fortunately, Ryouma himself was still out cold, so there were no effects coming from the mind control as of yet.
"Arbok is a Poison-type Pokémon, and the reason that your powers aren't going to be effective against him is because they might have incorporated type matchups into his traits." Shigeru hypothesized.
"In that case, we might need something to counter that. Do we have something in our arsenal that could make the cut, Professor?" Erina asked.
"Well, we currently have a new medal being purified. I think that might be able to help you lot."
"What? A new medal?" Hikaru said in surprise.
"Yes, Hikaru. We're hoping this would grant you access to change forms if you swap out your personal ones that you used to transform with it. However, it's currently undergoing purification." Lillie said.
"Purification?" Ran said with a confused tone.
"Whenever we extract a Pokémon's powers into EvolMedals, their power has impurities and using said impure medal would cause bitter consequences. M.Y.T.H.O.S uses these kinds of impure medals to create their Inhumanoids. However, if we put an impure medal through a purifying machine, that medal is considered safe to be used and would grant you access to their power, enabling you to change forms." Shigeru explained.
"However, we strongly recommend you use medals with the same type as your personal ones, as utilizing medals with different types would only grant you half of its full potential. But also keep in mind you would have to use the medal with the type strong against your opponent."
"Will do, Dad." Hikaru answered.
"The purification's all done and dusted now. Takeru, can you get off the call for a bit and slide your phone down? We've used our transport extension that we've put into your phones to send the medal over from Kanto to Kalos." Lillie ordered.
Immediately, Takeru would then hang up from the group call before sliding his phone's screen down to reveal a hidden compartment with a dusty-brown medal with gold accents and a symbol resembling an overhead view of a Golem. This was, indeed, the Golem Medal, equipped with the Ground-type powers they had needed to decimate Cobra Inhumanoid.
"Well then... It's about time we finally fuck over this piece of bullshit."
Olympus Castle, Kalos
"What a splendid job, Cobra Inhumanoid! I expect you to keep your great work and prevent any more possible failures against the Shinkaigers from happening." Apollo praised.
"W̴̬̚i̶͚̗̎t̵̰̩̏ḩ̷̅ ̶͇̯̋͆p̷͙̲̈l̷͔̩̈́ĕ̷̠̻̋ȧ̶͉̰̆s̸̟̼̓͒u̸̥͕̎r̵̝͓̽e̶̛͎̝̚,̴̣̝̈́͂ ̷̈́̑͜Ý̸̱ö̷̞̦́u̸͖̯̅͆r̵̢̛͙͂ ̴̺͖̀̀H̴̗͚̆̚į̴̤̉̊g̷̖̈́̎ḣ̵̗̪n̵͖͒ë̸͈́́s̸̡͎̄s̵̨̰̓͂!̵̧̓ ̵͙̣̈́I̴̧͍͑̈́ ̵͇͚̔s̷̈́̿ͅw̶̠̟͛e̸̼͔̐͋a̵̛̪̗r̴͇̮̂ ̸̯̥͋t̸̬͉̚h̶͙͗͌ā̴͔̭t̴͍̤͛͑ ̴̝̊ͅI̷͙̿̾ ̸̬̎ẃ̶̡̳͑i̵̜̾l̶͙̎l̶̛͈̀ ̴̹̯̋̀ẗ̵̩̥r̴̠̃y̷̥͛ ̷̛͕t̴̜̀ơ̶̡͚̑ ̴͚̺͆̄k̸̙̭̐͝i̸̳̼͛͘l̸͈̽̉l̷͍̐ ̷͖̒ͅt̸̙͍̑h̵̢̳͂͠ė̶̝̯ ̴̝̼́Ṡ̴̺̤́h̵̯͒͠i̴̝̬͋͝n̴̢̠̈̇ḱ̵̖͜a̴͘͠ͅi̵̺̯͋g̸̬̞̈́̕ë̶̮̬r̸̨̩͛̂ș̴́ ̷̩̺̆͐t̴̫̝̂o̶͎̤͗ ̶͍̀ṫ̶̫͑h̶̠̄̔͜ḛ̵̗́ ̶̪̤̕͘b̷̭̿̏e̷͙͌̚s̸̜̀t̵̛͈̄ ̵̝̻͑o̵̭̕f̶̢̍̽ ̴̣͓͒̄m̶͎̥̈̆y̷̜͈͂̔ ̴̧̖͒͑o̴̰̒̕w̸̪̬͌͊n̷̙͈̔̈́ ̷̬̽̔a̴̡͐b̷̢͆í̶̥̌l̷͂͜i̵̱̇̍t̵̡͇̿̈i̴̝̽̈́e̴̡̽͝s̴͍͙͗.̶̠̅́" Cobra Inhumanoid responded in glee.
"Very well. I commend your own valor. Her Imperial Majesty has not been happy with our recent failures lately. Cobra Inhumanoid, I want you to resume attacks on Santalune City as soon as you possibly can. We shall not anger His Imperial Majesty to his absolute limits. Am I clear?"
"Ȳ̴̜͍e̷͔̋s̸̪͖͑,̸͚͂̏ ̸̫̦́s̴̠̑í̸̧́r̸̠̰̂!̷̛̱͇"
With that, Apollo was then left alone, to ponder about the return of his Emperor in the near future.
Santalune City, Kalos
The Shinkaigers then returned to Santalune City from the Guardia Base via EvolStriker after hearing information about the monster being re-deployed to the same area, while Ryouma was ensured to be kept in control with sleep pills in case something happens back at base while the cyborg monster was wreaking havoc there. Due to the monster's close proximity to the city center, Takeru and the others were able to find Cobra Inhumanoid rather quickly, and they would later arrive at the area to personally confront the cobra-based monster rather immediately.
The civilians in the area had already fled, completely ensuring the Shinkaigers no form of jeopardy regarding their secret identities, especially to the public. While the team's immediate families would be informed of them becoming a Shinkaiger however, fortunately, they were sworn to secrecy since the beginning of their crusade. The team later pulled up their EvolStrikers in the area, coming to a stop with an ear-piercing screech. Takeru later dismounted himself from his motorcycle before changing it back to phone mode; the other team members quickly following suit.
"T̸̫̑̕h̸̛͔ḙ̸̅̐ ̴̦̫͑̉S̵͖̙̈́̀h̷̡͝i̷̫̱̒n̷͓͊̅k̴̟̓a̴͚̓ĭ̶͎̱ģ̵̤͂ē̸̼ͅr̸̓ͅs̴̤͑!̶͎͊?̵̞̖͒ ̸̝̈́Ạ̸̓g̵̲̈̓a̶̺̞͊í̴͚͛n̶̯͂͜!̶̧͕͐̌?̷̖͝ ̸̣̌W̷̃ͅe̷͚̭̽ḻ̴̪͒̄l̴̛̳̑,̵̖̟̂ ̷̥̺͑n̴̢̑ō̵͖ ̸̛̙̥ḿ̸̢͑ą̵̱̓t̷̬́͊ţ̶̈́̐e̷̱̋̕r̵͉͛.̵̧̋ ̵̗͐͝Ĭ̶̪͚'̶̜̭͛l̵̲̍͝ḻ̴̹͋̅ ̶̺̜͒ǰ̶̼̩͒u̷̢̦͆s̶̰̽t̸̮̓ ̵͓͘t̷̖̽̍ṙ̸̪͚̅ỹ̷̙̜̔ ̷̙̼̍ȧ̵̳̂n̸̯͍̂͠d̷̜̦̅ ̷̤̓̔f̷̱̼͊ĩ̵̭̣n̴̯̟͝i̴͐́ͅs̸̽͜h̷̺̿ ̴̘͌̈́ä̶̢͉́l̷̼͗l̸͒ͅͅ ̴̫̬̀̈́o̴͕̅f̴̹̥͘͝ ̸͈͘y̷͍̫̓̎ō̴͕͓u̶̲̲͐ ̵͚͐o̴͎̾f̸͝ͅf̸͍̦̊!̴̛͕̑" Cobra Inhumanoid declared.
"Unfortunately for you, Cobra Inhumanoid, we, the Shinkaigers, are more resilient than you think we'd be. After all, we've been able to make quick work of one of your predecessors despite being one member short like this. You can't expect us to give up just yet. And as my family would like to tell me a lot of times... We aren't going to give up until it's over." Takeru rebutted.
"Well, then, pals, you thinking what I'm thinking? It's about time we have some payback for injuring our main gunner." Hikaru asked, a smug grin plastered on his face.
"Say no more, Blue." Ran replied straightforwardly.
TALONFLAME!
JOLTEON!
SHARPEDO!
SYLVEON!
"Spark Change!" The team proclaimed in unison, pressing the top buttons of their bracelets with their medals already inserted.
CHANGE, SHINKAIGER!
With that, the Shinkaigers later charged off into battle. As per Takeru's orders during battle, Ran and Hikaru were to remain on ground level, with the former attacking from afar with his EvolArrow while the latter was busy holding off Hoplite Soldiers. Thankfully, Hikaru hit the jackpot again, due to the soldiers being rather easy to defeat. Meanwhile, Erina and Takeru used their sets of wings to patrol through the skies and attack the Arbok-based monster from above, though it was mainly Takeru's job to do the combat side of things.
As he was about to land another attack though, Takeru's intercom system then ended up beeping, stopping the Red warrior in his tracks. He then proceeded to answer the call, though he was a bit suspicious, as both Shigeru and Lillie rarely used the intercom to communicate with his teammates.
"It's been a while. Is'nt it, Takeru, or should I say, Take-kun?"
Behind his helmet, Takeru was surprised. Well, being surprised is an understatement. He was beyond shocked at the mysterious caller having known his identity despite the team's secretive measures preventing the general public from knowing everything about them.
"Who are you?"
"Me? Well, I'm just a friend, that's all you need to know, but let's get straight to the point, yes? If I recall correctly, your teammate, Ryouma Sakuragi has recently been infected with a M.Y.T.H.O.S virus. Is that right?" The caller said.
"Wha- how did you know our identities!? And what's this about a M.Y.T.H.O.S virus!?" Takeru asked.
"Calm down, Take-kun. The M.Y.T.H.O.S Inhumanoid that you're fighting right now has a virus inside his body and attack chamber. The virus is potentially fatal to normal humans, but the good news is, Ryouma-kun only has a slight injury. The bad news? The virus can control his mind to force him to infect more people with it, but it seems like he has'nt had any impulse to do so as of yet."
"And?" Takeru inquired.
"There's a possible antidote to the virus itself. You can help Ryouma-kun recover by having the Aether Foundation infuse the Psychic-type power of a Pokémon into normal painkillers and inject it using a syringe to become a potential vaccine. You can also neutralize the virus' side effects by defeating the monster using your new EvolMedal." The caller said.
"That seems promising, but why should I fucking-"
"Project Shinkaiger was in fact formed to be an upgrade to the Ultra Guardians, am I right? The one where your father and mentor got involved as well? It was a few years ago when I met up with Lillie Ohkido regarding the team, and it was back when Shinkaiger was in its planning stages."
"It looks like I have no choice but to trust you on this one..." The 17-year old admitted.
'But why does he sound familiar?' he thought.
"Well, I'm rather pleased that you would be able to trust my convictions, Take-kun. Give it your best shot, alright?" The caller said. The sounds of erratic, white noise then began appearing, prompting the caller to wrap up the call.
"Eh... Looks like they're at it again, huh? May we meet again, Takeru. Farewell." As the caller hung up from the intercom, Takeru's helmet then suffered a communications outage. The Red warrior then subsequently resumes his attacks toward the monster, relieving Hikaru and Ran (whose limbs are now becoming numb and sore), before using his pair of wings to land down on the ground.
"Take-chan! What in the actual fuck took you so long!? Ran and I are having a hard time here!" Hikaru yelled.
Takeru's U-Phone then proceeded to ring. Turns out, Lillie had proceeded on phoning Takeru about the intercom incident.
"Takeru, care to explain what happened on the battlefield? You zoned off for a moment while in the air back there." Lillie questioned. Her tone was authoritative, but she kept a calm demeanor.
"Sorry, guys! But, anywho, Ohkido-san, how's Ryouma doing right now!?" Takeru asked.
"He's alright as of now, but, why do you ask?" Lillie inquired.
"I have the idea for an antidote, he's infected with a dangerous virus that could provoke mind control. I'll explain later, but right now, we just need to beat the monster and you quickly need to try and quarantine him right now while you still can. I'll meet you on the call back at base as soon as possible."
"Alright then, Takeru. Continue your fight against Cobra Inhumanoid. I'll be monitoring you from here." Lillie ended.
"Guess my attacks from above aren't enough to deter you, eh? Cobra Inhumanoid?" Takeru said.
"W̶̰̳̕h̶̻̺̍a̴̩̫͝t̷̳͗̆ ̵͉͘͝d̶̫̼̀o̶̞̍̉ė̵̦s̷̜̲̓ ̴͙̤̀͐t̶̜͊͆h̸͈̝͗̄a̵̼͛t̵̨̞̕ ̶̜̽̿s̵̨̪͑͘ù̶̧͕̿p̴͉̾͝p̸͖͋o̴͖̔̑ͅs̸̖̖̏e̶̤͛ ̴̲̀̐ẗ̵̜̪́̀ỏ̸̬͈ ̸̤̂m̶̹̏̍e̷͔͖̿̾a̴̡̬̐͆n̷̝̾̕!̴̰̚?̸̭̤̎̓"
"Well, you've injured one of my teammates. Looks like it's the right time for you to face your worst nightmare." The 17-year old declared.
He then reopens the glass lid of the EvolBracelet before proceeding to promptly remove the Talonflame Medal. He then quickly takes out the Golem Medal, inserts it in the circular slot, and then swipes the lid shut.
GOLEM!
Takeru then proceeds to press the top button again after the EvolBracelet begins playing its signature tune.
Crash! Rumble! Burst! Smash! Link Up!
Takeru's stripe and fire-motif markings in his arms and legs then proceeded to disappear from the Shinkai Red suit in the blink of an eye; however the markings are then replaced by a red hexagonal pattern in the lower part of the chest. He then begins morphing completely. His helmet had slightly changed shape to more closely resemble the head of a Golem, though the bird-like similarity to Talonflame still persisted in its design.
The top half of the helmet was now light brown, while his mouthpiece and decorative eyes remained untouched. Takeru's armor in the upper part of his torso had completely morphed, now adding a collar to cover his neck, two octagonal extensions, and two straps running across the underside of his chest and going over to the back of the suit. The straps itself were colored gold, while the armor was painted a form of dusty-brown similar to Golem's shell. The top half of the undersuit, excluding the lower torso and legs, have also changed to become light brown similar to his helmet.
The extensions to the gloves itself was now colored dusty-brown, with gold cuff-links and accents and with extra padding on both the undersuit and the gloves. His hands were light brown. His legs remained red, though it was now extremely padded, adding two large paddings to the thighs, fastened with gold straps, and dusty-brown kneecaps. Besides a few extra extensions at the upper part of the boots, soles, and gold ornaments, the only thing that changed from the original Shinkai Red armor was the coloring of the boots itself, which was light brown.
GOLEM!
Takeru then readies himself into a battle stance. "Let's finish this... Cobra Inhumanoid."
"G̵̯̝͊l̶͈͓̇͋a̵̰̒ͅd̷̛̪l̸̗̔ỷ̸̻̳.̴̺̔͝" The monster said, after laughing maniacally.
Takeru then hit a secret button hidden in his left forearm, causing a large gold and dusty-brown sword which was being stored on a display case in the Guardia Base Kanto to be instantly digitized into particles. The weapon then appeared again in the battlefield in Kalos before rematerializing, with Takeru having to wield it with his two hands due to the sheer size of the weapon.
EVOLGREATSWORD!
"Nice. I better get the upper hand with this thing as quick as possible..." Takeru mumbled to himself.
And thus, he then began charging and trading blows with the Arbok-based cyborg monster. The 17-year old himself did actually take some damage from the monster's venomous attacks, however due to using the Golem Medal, the attacks did not cause him severe injury. On Takeru's part though, he was able to inflict a rather brutal damage to the cobra monster, provoking the Inhumanoid to summon his reserve soldier platoons. This was due to the fact that Golem was a Rock and Ground-type Pokémon, with Poison-types like Arbok being extremely weak to Ground-type attacks.
Nevertheless, Takeru himself later made use of his now bulky armor to deflect the cobra monster's venomous attacks, dealing severe damage. Eventually, the other Shinkaigers were able to finish off any Hoplite Soldier reserves, with Cobra Inhumanoid himself being extremely and severely weakened from the attacks that were dealt to him.
"Takeru! S'il vous plait! I need you to strike the kill!" Ran pleaded.
"Take-chan! The kill's on you, old friend!" Hikaru yelled.
"Big brother, go for broke!" Erina said, affirming her support.
Takeru then let out a sigh and a chuckle. "You guys really want me to beat up this fucker that badly, huh? Well then, it looks like I have no other choices."
He then begins pressing the top button of the EvolBracelet two times.
FINISHING BLOW!
Takeru then proceeded to jump up into the air, with his own set of hawk / eagle wings fully unfurled during the process. He then begins to adjust his position to deliver a flying side kick. He then presses the top button for a third time.
"Engame Bakusai!" (Flaming Turtle Blast!)
GOLEM! ONE STRIKE FINISH! FIRE!
Bursts of flames and rocks in the surrounding area would then gather around Takeru's soles as the 17-year old Red warrior came down onto the ground, with his feet precisely striking Cobra Inhumanoid's abdomen. Within seconds, the Arbok-based monster was sent plummeting to the pavement in the area as pointed, burning rocks dug into him, reminiscent of the move Stealth Rock, creating fatal wounds and causing the monster to fall down back-first into the ground, causing him to scream in pure agony as he then exploded to his first death.
Mere seconds later however, his fail-safe program started to kick in, causing him to grow up to giant size and cornering the team, who was practically a bit helpless with Ryouma in quarantine.
"I̴̘̥͋̾ ̵̛̹̽f̷͈̎e̶̹̅e̷̖̾ľ̴͚̑ ̷͍̈ổ̶̝̙ṿ̴̊e̶̻̿̈́r̸̪̽f̶͎̓́ļ̸͝o̵̩͋͋͜w̵͉̿͠i̸̮͌͛ņ̴̉g̵̻̯͋ ̷̨̪͋w̵̟͚͠͝i̸̺͠t̵̤̅h̴̖̰͛ ̶̣͒̃ṕ̷̬̹̓o̶̗̥͆w̵͙̙̽̚ẻ̴͔̲̊r̶̲̪͝!̷̝̗́" The revived Cobra Inhumanoid said, before beginning his rampage.
"Oh, shit..." Takeru cursed under his breath.
"Non non non, we're one man down! How can we even pilot Shinkai-Oh if Ryouma's in quarantine!?" Ran said, with him being extremely paranoid.
"Now's not the time for paranoia, Brainiac!" Hikaru admonished.
Takeru then immediately took out his U-Phone, opened Lillie's contact and practically mashed the video call button. Later, the call was picked up.
"Takeru, what's the matter?" Lillie asked.
Takeru then answered while practically shaking due to panic. "Ohkido-san, is our mechas able to be sent out properly right now? Cobra Inhumanoid has gone giant!"
"I'm afraid not. They've just undergone maintenance and they aren't done with it just yet. This is going to be bad." Lillie said.
"Merde... First, Ryou's in quarantine and now we couldn't use Shinkai-Oh!? For the love of fucking Almighty Arceus! What are we going to do!?" Takeru yelled, while moving the phone screen to his teammates.
"Calm down, team. I might be able to propose an immediate solution. Just try and create a temporary barrier to hold off Cobra Inhumanoid for the time being. I'll book a flight to Kalos as soon as possible, then I'll try to negotiate with the government to build one-time turrets so that we can finish off that monster. It'll take 12 hours for us to prepare everything, however, so try and stop it from rampaging to the best of your abilities." Lillie explained. She kept a calm demeanor throughout the whole ordeal.
"How exactly can we create that barrier, though?" Ran asked.
"Good question. Takeru, check your EvolMedal Holder. You'll know the rest yourselves." Lillie said, with the Alolan woman then giving a wink.
The Red warrior then passed over his U-Phone to Hikaru, as he opened the EvolMedal holder which was located on his belt. Taking out one EvolMedal from the holder, he then proceeded to take the EvolBlade out of its sheath on the opposite side. Takeru then inserted the auxiliary Medal into the circular slot.
FINISHING BLOW!
He then simply presses the trigger before delivering a slash to the rampaging Inhumanoid.
AUXILIARY! ONE STRIKE SLASH! FIRE!
In an instant, the slash would later manage to conjure an invisible cage, preventing Cobra Inhumanoid from moving nor getting out for an indefinite time, though Takeru would only take out the Barrier EvolMedal from the slot after at least twelve hours.
"I̸͉̅͜ḿ̵̻p̷̺͈͑ò̷͇̔s̶̲̮̀̈́s̴̺̖̿͋ì̸͕̹b̶͎̱͌l̵̞̏̔e̴̲͇̓͌!̶̧̉̃ ̶̱̇͐I̸̡̛ ̸̧͍̅c̴̭̓ã̷̢ň̴̟͔̇'̵̳̀t̶͙̭̊̽ ̷̫̥̅m̷̧̅ọ̴͐v̷̧̫̀̊è̶̖̐!̴̪̈́̎"
"Team, let's go back to the Guardia Base for the time being, shall we? But Ran, I need you to first alert the authorities that citizens aren't going to be allowed anywhere until the problem is dealt with. Got it, old friend?" Takeru ordered while picking up his U-Phone and ending the call.
"Oui, Red. I'm trusting you in this." Ran said.
Takeru then began making his way out of the gates, disengaging his transformation and slamming the EvolBlade into the ground before turning his face to meet Ran's eyes. "Merci."
With that, the trio, sans Ran, then made their way back to the Guardia Base to recuperate for a bit before picking up Lillie at the Lumiose Airport.
Olympus Castle, Kalos
"Your Imperial Majesty, the Shinkaigers were almost at the brink of defeat by Cobra Inhumanoid when his fail-safe program activated, but as you can see, those pesky fools trapped him in a barrier which would waste his energy if he were to stay there for too long." Apollo explained.
"They've still found a way to be one step ahead of us, even without Shinkai-Oh? Well, they are certainly the persistent bunch." Hera remarked.
"I suggest we put Cobra Inhumanoid into hibernation mode immediately until we can have his energy replenished. Trying to get out of that damned barrier wouldn't be good."
Hera then nodded. "Very well. Proceed."
Within minutes, Cobra Inhumanoid himself would then begin falling into a deep sleep while encased in the barrier. With the EvolBlade holding said barrier up, the police forces in Santalune City wouldn't even dare to take it out of the ground just yet. Only time will tell.
Six hours later...
Lumiose Airport, Lumiose City, Kalos
The sun was setting in Lumiose City and many people were still busy doing their routine activities as news of the attack on Santalune City had spread like wildfire across the region. However, the Shinkaigers themselves were currently waiting for someone to arrive in the airport.
We then focus our attention to the team themselves, with most of them relaxing on the airport's benches. Takeru was texting his father, Satoshi, while Ran was watching videos on an online video-sharing platform. Hikaru though was the most anxious out of the team members there, as he was waiting for what felt like an eternity for Lillie to arrive. Erina was simply enjoying the situation in the airport, however the one thing that was still stuck on the back of their minds was the necessity to kill Cobra Inhumanoid and curing Ryouma out of the virus.
Minutes later though, Lillie would then enter the room, having already picked up her luggage. She looked a little tired though, as if implying that she hadn't slept since the flight from Kanto, however she just shrugged it off. Hikaru was quick to spot his mother though, and thus was the first person to notice her arrival, snapping him out of his anxiousness.
"Alola, Mom..." Hikaru greeted, slowly approaching his mother before he begins carefully picking up her luggage and belongings to hopefully ease Lillie out.
"Alola, Hikaru. You've been doing well?" Lillie greeted back.
"Always have been, you know." The 17-year old Blue warrior responded, playfully poking at his mother.
"Alola, Ohkido-san, it's been a while." Takeru greeted to his mentor. He then gestured towards the bench, where the other team members are currently situated, prompting them to notice and exchange their pleasantries.
A few minutes of conversation later, and the team and Lillie would then make their way back to the Guardia Base to recuperate, as Aether technicians in Santalune City up north are currently preparing to construct the three turrets needed to finish off Cobra Inhumanoid for good.
Guardia Base Kalos, Lumiose City
"So, you've allocated a deal with the Kalosian government to allow the Foundation to build the necessary systems in Santalune City, eh, Mom?" Hikaru remarked while accompanying Lillie in the lounge room.
"Yeah... But it was pretty hard for me to negotiate with them on it. We had an argument because the government wants us to use Shinkai-Oh... I had to pretty much convince the top brass to let us permission and while we ultimately had approval, they ended up making me very angry... And now, I'm deprived of sleep yet I have to go to the field later tonight..." Lillie explained while panting heavily. Her voice was also a bit raspy, and she was limp.
"Ohkido-san, you should take a rest. The guys in Santalune is about 50% done with the turrets, and they're making progress fast." Takeru said, for once worrying about his mentor's wellbeing.
"Besides, my recent analysis shows that Cobra Inhumanoid has been put away into some sort of hibernation mode, probably not to waste his energy trying to get out of the impenetrable barrier." Ran assured.
"But wasn't I supposed to take over direct command today?"
"Mom, you're tired. I can wake you up at night later when I have word from the guys at Santalune. Besides, you need to get used to the timezones, you're experiencing jet lag." Hikaru said.
Lillie then conceded, letting out a tired sigh. "I suppose I can deserve some sleep after all..."
"Just don't push it, Mom. Dad wouldn't like it if you're sleep-deprived. Take a short nap."
With that, a few minutes later, the team then left the lounge room to prepare for the upcoming attack later that night.
Three hours later, the Shinkaigers would already be inside of the briefing room with Lillie telling them about the plan. She was pretty refreshed, even though she would have to take another long rest after this to make up for her sleep deprivation.
"Cobra Inhumanoid's awoken again after that long hibernation, and I have a guess they might be planning to get out from that barrier again. While they are preoccupied, we should move on with carrying the rest of our plans now that the turrets are in place." Lillie said.
"Ran's already told the police forces not to remove the EvolBlade from the pavement, since it's what keeping the barrier up. Nobody dared to do it until we return, so it seems they still haven't taken it out if it's up this long." Takeru remarked.
"Good. Cobra Inhumanoid is based on an Arbok, so we might need to trigger his most vulnerable ability in order to put up an opening."
"Ah, Shed Skin! Now I get it! Once Cobra Inhumanoid sheds his skin off, he needs to wait until it's hardened. We need to quickly use a finishing blow to kill him while it's still soft." Ran said, getting the memo of what Lillie was saying.
"The only thing that could trigger Shed Skin is non-volatile status conditions. I'll remove the barrier early, then Ran and I will need to inflict both burn and paralysis to that fucker. Once Shed Skin begins to kick in, then we can finish that damn snake off with the turrets." Takeru said.
"Okay, that should be acceptable. Hikaru, you'll need to remain at the top of one of the buildings and try inflicting some neutral damage with your weapons. Ran, you do the same, but you're the one inflicting paralysis, so do your best. Erina and Takeru, you two take to the skies. Be careful not to get attacked, if you fall, you have a high risk of getting trampled. As for myself, I'll take direct command on the field." Lillie said.
"Isn't the area a danger zone?" Hikaru said.
Takeru then responded, trying to give the team some much needed morale boosts. "Well, yes, slug, that is a danger zone, but listen. The Shinkaigers are the world's last hope against an organization like M.Y.T.H.O.S. We'll find a way to defeat them for sure. After all, we're not supposed to give up until they're dealt with."
"Takeru, Ryouma's been fully vaccinated with the antidote. Your idea seems to work properly, and he's recovering at a fast pace. That venom must've had a side effect of knocking him out cold for long periods of time." Lillie informed.
Takeru then lets out a sigh. "Thank Arceus... Anywho, I think we're ready to put the plan into action immediately, Ohkido-san."
"Alright then. Everyone, please get to work immediately!"
"Yes, ma'am!" was the collective response.
Santalune City, Kalos
"Lord Arceus have mercy... We haven't even started yet and I'm feeling this isn't going to be good." Ran said as he pulled up to Santalune City via EvolStriker, with him already transformed.
"Be optimistic, Ran. Hikaru, Make your way up to the building with both Ran and Ohkido-san. We'll both take it from here." Takeru ordered.
"Okay then, Take-chan!" Hikaru said.
"I expect you to carry out this plan flawlessly, Takeru. Don't let us down." Lillie said.
With that order, both Ran and Hikaru later changed their EvolStrikers back to its phone modes and later made their way into the top of one of the buildings where one of the turrets are situated, escorting Lillie up there while they were at it.
Takeru then takes the EvolBlade out of the ground before removing the Barrier EvolMedal, letting Cobra Inhumanoid free after nine excruciating hours.
Then, Cobra Inhumanoid began to rampage, before speaking and ultimately trying to step down on the Red warrior. "Ḋ̵͉̙̌à̴̖m̵̰̪̓n̷̤͛͝ ̸̪͒͝S̵͉̤̏h̵̜̺̅i̵͕̽͂n̵̢̺̾k̵̛̜͇̆a̴̡̭̐̅i̵̦͍̋̀g̶͖̐͂e̴̢̡̾̈́r̷̢̛̯s̶̲̑͌!̴̲͗ ̴͚̣̈̐Ȳ̴̗ò̸̘͈̚ȕ̶̘͂'̶̡́̈l̴̖͇̈́l̸̛̳̖ ̴̕ͅp̵̥̈́̎á̶̹y̴̳̥͊̊ ̸̺̿f̴̬̏͠o̴̫̠͊̃ř̸̟̥͝ ̷̛͚̆t̸͓͕̑̄ŕ̵͇̟ả̵̺p̴̰̏p̴̩̹̅i̵̟̣͑ṇ̸͛͝g̸̙͑ ̵͚̦́͝m̶̦̖̾e̸̡̲̽ ̶̱̝͛̾i̷͙̠͆n̶̩̗͗̀ ̵̖̰̉̔t̸̬̉͠ḧ̶͙́a̵̯͒̅ͅt̴̜̊ ̵̛̞̼͌í̶̡̱m̷̖͆p̶̞̌è̵̲n̶͖̭͐ȅ̷̩̆t̶͓̜̎̊r̶̰̈́a̷̗͑b̷͓̿̐l̵̦̄e̶̹̔̏ ̸̧͎͋͘b̵̬̿a̴̼͊̇r̶̠͗ȓ̶̙͎i̸̺͆e̶̯̲̔r̶͉̉!̸̛̣"
"Oh no you won't this time!" Takeru proclaimed in defiance, unfurling his wings and taking off into the skies as fast as he could, avoiding the Inhumanoid.
"Eri! Now! Before you get yourself stepped on!" Takeru added, communicating with his sister through the intercoms after turning it on. As per his orders, Erina later unfurled her own fairy wings and then took off into the skies as fast as she could.
Ran then proceeded to turn on his intercoms, taking aim with the EvolArrow. It, however, was a bit off. "Paralysis attack coming right up!"
FINISHING BLOW!
Ran then pulled at the handle, releasing it just as the Inhumanoid moved to the right, putting him in place of the EvolArrow's trajectory.
ONE STRIKE SHOOT! THUNDER!
The shot then landed a hit, causing the cobra monster to be inflicted with paralysis.
"C̵̮̈ṳ̸̈̎r̴̲͒͗s̵͓̬̈́ĕ̴̯̟̈́ ̷̯̂́y̷̢͋͑ő̵͉͠u̸͙̇̑ ̶̹̚͝f̴̩̈́̌ò̸̧̖o̴̲̺̽́l̶̪̍ͅi̶̖͛̎͜s̶͍̦̅h̷̨̅͑ ̴̟͑h̴̪̆u̵̧̡̇m̵͇̩̒a̸̮̟̐ǹ̶̟͑s̵̱̳̽!̸̬͍͌" Cobra Inhumanoid said, with him not being able to move because of the paralysis.
Takeru then proceeded to give a confirmation signal to Lillie by using his U-Phone's voice call function, with him using the Golem Medal while the monster was preoccupied. "His Shed Skin ability is going to trigger in a few seconds or so, begin taking aim with the turrets while you're at it!"
"Alright, Takeru. I suggest you also use a finishing blow to make the kill even more lethal, then." Lillie said.
"Will do."
The three turrets in the area later begun taking aim at Cobra Inhumanoid. It was fortunate that it was positioned in a way that the giant snake-based monster could not see what was happening.
EVOLGREATSWORD!
FINISHING BLOW!
Takeru then began taking aim while flying for an aerial slash.
Cobra Inhumanoid then sheds his skin, curing the paralysis. This was an element carried over from the normal Arbok species, the ability, Shed Skin.
"Kaen Nadarezan! (Flaming Avalanche Slash!)
GOLEM! RUMBLING FISSURE SLASH!
The red warrior then proceeds to deliver a large slash to the enlarged monster. Lillie then fired all three turrets two and a half seconds later, ensuring the Inhumanoid a quick and swift kill from the Shinkaigers without them even using Shinkai-Oh's help.
In his last breath, the monster then weakly muttered a few final words, due to his failure in defeating the Shinkaigers. "Ë̷͕̮́́m̵̨̙̓p̶̜͊ë̸̳́̎r̶̖̺̈́̚ö̸͙́ͅṛ̶͆̌ ̷̭̅͐Z̵̪̀̆e̴̗̕u̷̦̖͛s̷̰͈̉͋.̵̠̇.̶̠̖̈́.̸̡͍́ ̶̻̰̍̀I̵̯̚ ̶͇͙̀̓ơ̷͕͑f̸̺̺̎̂f̸̢̎ē̶͕ŗ̷̦̒ ̷̢̻̓m̸̭̤̊ÿ̷͙̭́ ̵̢̧̛͂s̶͖̲̀ì̶̤̺̄n̸̝͈̒̑c̵̢̺̈́͘e̵̩̟͋r̸̫̎͝ȅ̸̟͈͊ ̶̲̖͝a̷͎͔͐p̵̎ͅo̴̗̤̚l̵̫̠̄̒ò̷̻̖̚g̷̳̊i̸̫̥͒ẹ̴̢̆͝s̷͉͆ͅ!̴̺̍͒ͅ"
He then exploded into his second death, going off like a colossal depth charge.
The team and Lillie later came back to the base with relief at them clinching another win. Upon coming back to the lounge room, everyone just sat there being completely relaxed. The day was really exasperating for them nonetheless.
"Safe, safe..." Ran muttered, with him being extremely short of breath.
"Lighten up, Brainiac. we're only at the beginning of our battle with them. Until we wipe M.Y.T.H.O.S out for good, this piece will only be short-lived, you know." Hikaru said.
"Speaking of which, where did big brother go off to?" Erina asked, the 15-year old girl noticing the disappearance of her older siblings.
"Heh, knowing Take-chan, he might've slept early by now. Maybe you can go check on him in his quarters." Hikaru said, all while giving her a snicker, as Takeru could be an early riser due to him usually being the one to sleep first. However, he was completely wrong with his guesswork, as Takeru was in another room.
"Typical Takeru..." Ran muttered, eliciting a laugh from his other teammates.
In the briefing room however, the aforementioned Shinkaiger leader was indeed there. Lillie was also in there, though the Shinkaiger mentor was currently pre-occupied on a computer screen, using it for her own agenda.
Takeru then sat down on one of the chairs in the room, letting himself sink in to his thoughts as he tried to find out the true identity of the mysterious caller that hacked the Aether Foundation's systems and blocked them from retrieving any comms signals from him while he was engaged in the call.
"It sure has been a long while, eh...?" Takeru mumbled to himself. He then smirked, which had thankfully gone unnoticed by Lillie. He then excused himself out of the room to go to his living quarters to ultimately doze off for the night.
He was not going to give up on the fight with M.Y.T.H.O.S, for sure, but it seems he was determined to uncover what was going on with the current circumstances.
To be continued
Author's Note: I'm still alive, it's been over a month since I posted the second chapter of this story and I know you guys have been waiting for a long time for me to publish this chapter. Just so you know, I wouldn't be abandoning this story, I originally began writing Chapter 3 a few days after Chapter 2 was finished, but then I decided that I didn't like the original draft very much and scrapped it after I published this story. Then, I began a rewrite of this chapter, but during the last month, I was hit with a disease of cold... and then writer's block, effectively halting me from writing. Despite that though, I decided to say "Screw the thing, I'd rather continue!" and now, with some help from a friend who's given me countless ideas for this story, it's been better for me. I'll once again try to keep a consistent schedule for this story, but that depends if my personal errands can allow for that, especially since I've got upcoming mid-semester exams for the year. Also, you were expecting to see some of the Pokémon-oriented aspects, huh? Well unfortunately, I decided to scrap the idea and have it be incorporated in next chapter instead, since we will after all see Takeru battling it out for his first Gym Badge. As always, be sure to leave a comment, and I'll read up on ya.
Well then, Magi here, signing out. Jaa ne!
