"N was planning to sabotage you by moving over Ran, Ryouma, Hikaru and Erina's medals into your possession, right? Well, you've already ordered an assassination attempt against him with the government supporting you, and guess what? The Falinks Troopers carried it out successfully yesterday, and he's now dead! Like, come on! Now's your chance to undo all of his changes! If you still want to lord over your leadership like that, then I have no choice but to challenge you into a fight." Keito said, picking up from the events of Chapter 12. He was vehemently disagreeing with his cousin's way of leadership in the team, and he was trying his best to provoke him into changing. He had already taken up his position in the area, and was prepared to fight Takeru in any second.
"Well then, if it's a fight you want, then it's a fight you get... Jūkei-san." The Red warrior himself replied, taking his position in the area opposite Keito while gesturing for his other teammates to get to a safe distance from the battlefield.
"Don't worry. I'm not going to make this quick if you still decide to be an idiot." Keito said, taking out the Skarmory Medal in order to transform. The 19-year old then inserted said medal into the SolvBracelet, quickly pressing the button at the bottom of the device.
SKARMORY!
"Spark Change!" He proclaimed.
SHIN~ KAI SILVER!
Pools of liquid metal would then appear around where Keito was standing, later completely covering his body and hardening to form the Shinkai Silver suit. His helmet would then be formed by the mechanical Skarmory, completing his transformation sequence before the young man then urged his cousin to concentrate. "You better get serious right now, Takeru!"
"Heh. You got it, toots." Takeru calmly responded while smirking, summoning the EvolBracelet.
TALONFLAME!
"Spark Change!"
CHANGE, SHINKAIGER!
Flames then burst out of the ground where Takeru was standing, engulfing him to form his Shinkai Red suit before an astral projection of a Talonflame then nosedives into him, forming his own helmet.
The two Shinkaigers then proceeded to get into their respective battle stances, ultimately staying like that for a solid minute of silence, before Keito then proceeds to make the first move, charging towards Takeru and causing the EvolBlade and EvolHalberd to clash with each other, accompanied with a 'clang.' The Silver warrior then would then attempt to slash Takeru, causing the 17-year old to dodge out of the way by rolling on the ground. Standing up, Takeru then confronts Keito about his true identity while he was trying his best to fight.
"Answer honestly, Keito! Since when did you become a Shinkaiger!? Neither Erina and I were both told about this!"
"Since over one and a half years ago, Takeru." Keito calmly answered while attempting to slash at his cousin again, but the attack was able to be blocked by his opponent. "Professor Shigeru and Lillie-san recruited me into the team as a beta tester shortly after I became runner-up at the last Kalos League. I naturally agreed after hearing everything about M.Y.T.H.O.S, and as a result, I became the first Shinkaiger to be converted into a cyborg. My job as a beta tester was to test the safety, strength, durability, and endurance of the technology that you and Erina would eventually use, and I also fought M.Y.T.H.O.S as well when they were performing a raid at the Aether Foundation in order to steal the technology they needed to create the Inhumanoids you fought, even though I lost." Keito said, before retaliating by vigorously slashing Takeru with the EvolHalberd. The knockback ended up throwing the Shinkaiger leader until he came crashing down into a wall, leaving the Silver warrior free to talk. "Eventually, the project then went out of beta testing, and as a result, I was a free man. Knowing that M.Y.T.H.O.S has overseas branches worldwide, I decided to get out of the region myself in order to fight them, from Kanto, to Galar, day after day. Fortunately, they were powerless without Inhumanoids, so everything was still worth it in the end."
Enduring pain from the crash, Takeru then tries his best to get back on his feet, continuing to confront the 19-year old that was his cousin. "Does Uncle Calem or Aunt Sana know or even consent about this!?" In response, Keito then just gives a straightforward answer while he then attempts to slash Takeru several times, to no avail, as the attacks keep getting blocked one after another. "They know, and they don't care. I'm a grown man, Takeru; they think that being Shinkai Silver is my job. I never needed to sign any contracts during my recruitment into the team, and neither do Mom and Dad, because unlike you, I'm over legal age. I'm a grown man, and I have a job. Because of that, Mom and Dad didn't even care less about it." After finishing his answers, Keito then attempts to slash Takeru vertically using his halberd, but ended up missing as the Red warrior was able to swiftly dodge out of the way seconds prior.
'First Shinkaiger to be converted? Does that mean that there are any other beta testers?" Takeru thought as he was charging forward, attempting to land a kick on Keito's back, but the half-Kantonian half-Kalosian trainer was barely able to land a dent on his cousin, due to Keito's Shinkai Silver armor being made out of super-sturdy composite steel. Seeing this, the 17-year old then blocks Keito's attacks again before attempting to slash his back with the EvolBlade, however to his dismay, the Shinkai Silver armor was able to stop him from landing a hit. 'Damn it, he's sturdy as fuck! Half-assed attacks won't even work on him!' As a result, Keito then kicks Takeru's right leg before blocking the EvolBlade with his shoulder.
The Red warrior would then jump into the air, doing one brief somersault, before he was able to finally slash Keito. The EvolBlade was glowing, and the sword's blade was literally burning in flames.
"Man, you're definitely stronger compared to what I expected your power level to be..." Keito remarked. "But however...!" He continued, as he then inserted the Skarmory Medal into the EvolHalberd, pressing the trigger.
FINISHING BLOW!
The polearm would then elongate to over double its original length and the weapon would then be enlarged to a massive size. Knowing what was about to happen, Takeru then activates his own finishing blow. Keito would then swing the EvolHalberd towards his opponent, causing the Red warrior to also swing the EvolBlade towards Keito.
TALONFLAME! ONE STRIKE SLASH! FIRE!
SKARMORY! ONE STRIKE SLASH! STEEL!
The two swords then clashed with each other, causing explosions all over the battlefield that even shook Ran, Ryouma, Hikaru, and Erina nearby.
"Whoa!" Hikaru cried out, falling to the ground together with the other Shinkaigers. However, the four cyborgs were quickly able to get back on their feet, and they waited for the smoke to dissipate with bated breaths.
When the dust had settled later on, Takeru had reverted back into his human form, with his transformation being forcibly disengaged. He had fell to the ground from the explosion's shockwaves, knocking him unconscious, and the boy was surrounded completely by rubble, still holding the EvolBlade in a parrying position, clashing against the EvolHalberd.
"Meh. What a shame..." Keito remarked while disengaging his own transformation. He was dissatisfied with his cousin's performance, and as a result, the Silver warrior had decided to take matters into his own hands. The fight was actually just a test for Takeru to see if he could hold up against him, as he was the only member who had carried the team through a lot so far. However, he lost, which signalled to Keito that Takeru was still far from being a perfect leader to the Shinkaigers. If his cousin couldn't correct the team, then he would have to temporarily step in as acting leader and undo N's changes to the team that he had imposed as part of his devide et impera plan.
"Is he okay, Keito-san?" Ryouma asked politely, walking over to Takeru's unconscious body with clear worry plastered on his face.
"Don't worry. He's alive. He just passed out, that's all." The 19-year old responded, reassuring the rest of the team as well. The three remaining Shinkaigers would sigh in relief, prompting Keito to also ask as well. "Shall we go back to base, everyone? Takeru would need to recover from that beatdown I just gave him, after all, and I also have something to discuss with Professor Shigeru and Lillie-san. Besides, if you have any more questions about me, then I'll be able to answer that there."
"Eh, you're right... But how are you going to go back to base if you don't have any means of transportation, Keito?" Ran asked.
"Good question, Ran, because I do have one. Silveruiser, drive out!" the Silver warrior answered before opening his jacket to reveal a secret communicator tucked inside his collar, before calling for his mode of transportation. This would cause a predominantly silver and black motorbike with metallic red and blue accents to arrive at the area autonomously, coming to a halt beside its rider.
SILVERUISER~!
"Whoa, this thing looks sick!" Hikaru exclaimed, liking the Silveruiser's appearance. He then continued on, asking a question to Keito about his Shinkai Silver tech. "I guess you had this behemoth from your beta tester days, Keito-san?"
"Save the questions for later, Hikaru! Let's get going anyways, shall we?" Ran ordered sternly, before asking the rest of the Shinkaigers, who ended up nodding at his question. Thus, as a result, the now six-man team then returned back to the Guardia Base, with Keito carrying Takeru on the Silveruiser's passenger seat.
A few hours later, Keito was currently meeting with Shigeru and Lillie in the briefing room of the Guardia Base, with the 19-year old Silver warrior revealing his plans regarding the Shinkaigers for the time being after he was able to put Takeru out of commission. The news of the Shinkaigers gaining a new sixth member had spread like wildfire due to Keito's actions, and the new warrior's true identity had become public knowledge almost instantly, to the point that the Aether Foundation was swarmed completely by the press due to the unexpected occurrence. However, Shigeru and Lillie were now handling a much more important matter than having to deal with the media.
"So, you're saying that you want to step in as acting leader of the Shinkaigers, Keito?" Shigeru asked. He was puzzled with what the 19-year old cyborg had brought up, as was Lillie herself, as Keito had revealed his intentions to become the Shinkaigers' acting leader when Ran was supposed to take the position instead as the team's second in command.
"Yes, Professor. I'm doing this in order to undo N's changes to the team now that he isn't able to tamper with us again. I'm not leading the team at the frontlines though; Ran will be the one doing that, as he should be."
As a result, Lillie then spoke up in response to the statement. "You're thinking of working from the shadows, aren't you?"
"I do." Keito stated again, matter-of-factly, before continuing. "It's because of the media. While I have no problem with my identity becoming public knowledge, I don't want the both of you to be swarmed by the press asking about me and hold a press conference again to clear things up. I don't want to answer any of their questions, and plus, Uncle Satoshi and Aunt Serena now know about me, and I reckon they've been informed about what had happened by now. If they figure out that I was the one who curbstomped Takeru until he ended up passing out, there's a great chance that I'm going to get killed."
Hearing this, both Shigeru and Lillie then chuckled, before the latter of the two then spoke up, assuring Keito. "Well then, I'm sure that could be arranged."
Just then however, the Guardia Base's alert systems then blared at full volume, causing the discussion to be cut short. Ran, Ryouma, Hikaru and Erina would later come into the briefing room, having their wounds from last chapter's battle now patched up, with the Blue warrior having the nerve to speak up first. "Alright, Mom, what is it this time?"
"Two new Inhumanoids. They've been detected near the northwestern side of the city."
"Merde, two of them!?" Ran said in dismay, uttering the first part of the sentence in Kalosian. He knew that he wasn't able to fight two of the cyborg monsters together at once like Takeru did.
"Oh no..." Ryouma muttered under his breath.
"We know that it will be hard to fight without Takeru leading on the battlefield, but we need the four of you, especially Ran, to come back alive and not screw this up. Is it clear?" Shigeru ordered sternly.
"Yes, Professor, but what about Cousin?" Erina asked politely, prompting the Silver warrior to answer. "I'll only deploy when you need extra help. I have a few errands that I need to run."
"Ehhh... Alright, then." Hikaru responded. With that, Lillie then began ordering the team. "Let's not waste time, then. Shinkaigers, deploy immediately!"
"Yes, ma'am!"
Fast forward a few minutes, and the Shinkaigers, minus Takeru and Keito for obvious reasons, would arrive at the battlefield where two M.Y.T.H.O.S Inhumanoids were attacking at the same time. The first one of the two monsters was the diabolical organization's latest creation, Rhino Inhumanoid, a human-Rhyperior hybrid. However, it was the second one of the two Pokémon-based cyborgs which caused shock among the team; Gecko Inhumanoid, which was revived by Zeus and Apollo after Keito had killed it earlier.
"Wait, is that Gecko Inhumanoid!? I thought Keito-san killed that thing earlier today!" Hikaru exclaimed, attracting the aforementioned cyborg's attention.
"S̸̟̈ũ̷̲̣͝r̷̢͇̋̽p̵͓̿r̶͈̳̅i̷̩̫͊̅s̴̮̉͆e̸̼̣̔̒d̸̛̜ ̷̲̀e̵̯̼͂h̴̟̏,̸̠̏ͅ ̵̘̔S̵̨͐͋ḩ̵̇i̸͉͔̕ṉ̴̪̔k̴̢͖̿ḁ̷̏͐i̶͉̩͛g̸͇͝e̴͕͚͂̆r̸͇̊̃s̶̬̝͝!̶̛̯̃?̶̡̘̓̒" The aforementioned gecko monster sneered, letting out a creepy laugh. "N̸͈̉͋o̸̥͕̒ẃ̶̦̰̎ ̸̙̈́t̷̹̆́h̴̰͆̀â̴͙͜͠t̴̛̥̮ ̶͎̋I̴̲̕ ̵͚̑̾ḩ̵̧̉̈a̷̜̿̅v̶̞͕̀ȅ̷͇̤̈́ ̸͓̞̇b̵̖͇̈́ë̴̠̱̎ẹ̵̕n̵̫̰͋ ̵͎̣͂̍r̴͔͌ͅe̸̢̔̕v̴̨̛̝̄i̶͔̒͆v̵̧̠̈́͑e̸̥̿d̸̤̈́̋,̵̰̩͗ ̷̮̌͋͜I̷̗̠̎͋'̴̖̹̌̀l̵̨̇l̴̳̜̀ ̵̬̑͠m̸̧̙̌á̴̞͆k̶̮̟̐͌ẹ̶̰̆͝ ̶̨̆̃s̷̋͜ȕ̸̯͆r̴͙̿e̷̤̾ ̴̖͒͝t̷̫͊ơ̶̻̚ ̵̖̎m̸͔̞̒ă̴̙k̶̺̿́e̶̛̬̔ ̵̬͋y̶̞̯̕͠ő̵̝͔͗u̷͉͘ ̶̣̣̍a̷̦͈̐͘l̷͖͗͑l̸̳̚ ̷̣̈̌D̶͕̗̔Ī̶̗̪E̵̢͛͝!̷͉̃"
"Not if we can kill the two of you first!" Ryouma responded. This would then prompt Ran to reply with an order. "Team, let's go!"
JOLTEON!
UMBREON!
SHARPEDO!
SYLVEON!
"Spark Change!"
In a flash, the team would then already be in their Ranger forms, charging towards the two Inhumanoids. Ran and Ryouma had decided to split up fighting Rhino Inhumanoid first-hand, while Hikaru and Erina took on the revived Gecko Inhumanoid. But however, as Ran then began to attack the Rhyperior monster, he had realized that deciding to fight the former was a big mistake.
"Wait... If this monster is a Rhyperio- Oh no... Aie aie aie, Je combats le type de Sol!" Ran internally screamed, uttering part of his sentence in Kalosian.
"H̸̫̎e̵͎͂h̵͎͋̉e̴̹͇̒͝h̸̭̄è̴̛͔h̴̺̤̆͝e̷͇̓̑ḫ̴̈́͜!̷̳̓̊ ̴̺͔͒Ï̸̝͌d̶̻̊́ḯ̴̲̗̍o̶̤͉̐̄t̴͍̐͘!̸̺̞̑ ̸̣̅Y̶̘͂͜o̶̳̰͠ù̶̩̫ ̶̮̘̄c̷̮̅́a̴̗͚͋ņ̵͑̂'̷͎̎t̴͓͆ ̴̦̞͘b̵̙̃́ë̴͙̜́͘a̴͙̾t̴̪̿͝ͅ ̷̧͖̍̏ḿ̸̺͔̚ẹ̶̓̓ ̶̰͎̎ŵ̵̪i̴̟͋̈t̶͍̀h̵̗̖̅̿ ̶̺̱͆͝y̵̤̦̆͛ó̶̪̀u̶̲̽r̸̖͇̒͗ ̷̛̪̿e̶̳͌ľ̸̺͛e̷̢͊̀c̵̢͖͊t̶̲̀́r̴̖̉͑ḯ̴͍ç̴̆a̴̺̦͛l̷̥͋̃ ̵̦̹̚p̷̨̻̈́ơ̷̢̊w̵̝͇͌ę̶̃͝r̶͓̽̕!̶̀ͅ" Rhino Inhumanoid taunted, before attacking the Yellow warrior with a deadlier version of High Horsepower. This would prompt Ryouma to kick the cyborg monster in the solar plexus using his krav maga techniques, knocking the latter back a few feet. "Heh, says the one Inhumanoid who's 2 times weak to his own type!"
...Aaaand the monster ultimately didn't take Ryouma's roasting quite well, that he would end up completely curbstomping the two Shinkaigers using a lethal Rock Blast. Though it didn't kill the two as intended, it was enough to forcibly disengage the two warriors out of their transformations, causing Ran to grit his teeth in frustration over what had just happened. "If only I was much stronger...!"
"Holy moly, have they gotten their cyborgs much more stronger upgrades now...?" The Black warrior said to himself. He wasn't expecting it either. Rhino Inhumanoid then immediately took the opportunity to try and kill the two Rangers, charging a deadlier version of Rock Wrecker. "Ṇ̶̿͜͝o̷̐ͅw̶̪̺̃̍ ̴͈̎͝d̷̗͠i̶͕̯̎́e̴͓͊̾,̷̪̳̌͠ ̶̢͈͒Ŝ̶̰̝͐ḫ̸͍͆̾i̶̧͈̇͘n̴͚̼͝k̸̮̩̇a̶̯͊͝į̵̏ģ̴̻͋e̸̢̜͛r̶̨͙͑̚s̵͔͓̆̃!̵̮͛ ̶̖̽̚Ș̸͘ȕ̶̻͈f̵͓̪̿f̷̖̮͑̈́e̵̼̋̔r̸̘͎̉̚ ̶͔̫͌í̴̳n̷͚͒͝ ̶̨͂̕H̷̹̟̽̍ḛ̵̜́͝l̴̘͑l̸̠͗̓!̸̛̠̖̑"
In response, Ran would then quickly take out the Barrier Medal from the EvolMedal Holder, slotting it into the EvolArrow in a fraction of a second. He would then press the trigger, before turning the bow on himself and Ryouma and pulling its handle before ultimately releasing it.
FINISHING BLOW!
AUXILIARY! ONE STRIKE SHOOT! THUNDER!
The EvolArrow's shot would then create an invisible barrier that would protect the two Trainers from getting hit by the monster's attacks, rendering all of the Inhumanoid's efforts futile as a result. The barrier then disappeared, prompting Ryouma to go all in with his gunslinging, trying to go for ranged attacks this time. However, Ran's morale increasingly dropped over what had happened, and he wasn't charging into the fight like usual due to that.
Meanwhile, Hikaru and Erina was trying their absolute best to fight the now stronger Gecko Inhumanoid, but unfortunately, the cyborg monster ended up having the upper hand compared to the two of them. Despite Hikaru having the type advantage and him powering himself up using Mega Blastoise, he was gradually getting overwhelmed by how much stronger and deadlier the Sceptile-based cyborg's attacks were right now. Erina herself wasn't faring any better, though, as her attacks were barely able to make a dent at the monster. This would eventually cause Gecko Inhumanoid to get the upper hand, with the aforementioned cyborg effortlessly defeating them with a deadlier version of Leaf Blade, and resulting in a severe loss of morale for the Blue and Pink warriors.
"Dang it... Why did this gecko fucker get an upgrade in the first place!?" Hikaru exclaimed in frustration, having just been forced out of his transformation together with Erina. However, suddenly, a gust of wind then blew across the area; it was a sign that marked a person's deceased spirit is now currently roaming the mortal realm. Hikaru didn't really pay attention to the occurrence due to his frustration, but Erina, in contrast, knew that something was up, despite her loss of morale at the time.
The Pink warrior then felt a familiar aura surging through her body, confirming her suspicions. The spirit in who had just entered her mind then simply greeted as a result. 'Erina.'
It was Yellow Kamishiro, Erina's deceased grandmother. Yellow had saw everything that had happened earlier on, and, not liking the fact that the only one who still got up to fight back despite having been defeated was Ryouma, she'd decided to take matters into her own hands as a result. 'Grandmother?' The 15-year old girl responded back, using her inner voice in order to not be perceived as talking to herself.
'I'm sorry to bother you, Erina, but I don't like where this is going, and I have no other choice but to do this. I'll have to borrow your body for a second, alright?' Yellow explained, planning to possess her granddaughter to get the team back up and running. Knowing where the plan was headed, Erina then simply nodded, letting the former psychic Trainer take over her brain, enabling Yellow to take control of her body and possess her. After this had happened, Yellow, now possessing Erina, then got up from the ground. She then charged towards Gecko Inhumanoid, parrying him with the EvolRapier before admonishing her granddaughter's teammates.
"All that talk about saving the world and just look at you!" The former psychic said, impersonating Erina's voice. This provoked a response from Hikaru, confused about what had just happened. "Eh...? What do you-"
"Father and Mother once told Big Brother and I, never give up till it's over! Even if the situation's tough, you go all out and try your best! Don't try to look at what made you lost, try to make yourself better!" Yellow promptly cut off, impersonating Erina once again.
"Erina..." Both Ran and Ryouma said together in astonishment.
"Don't lose hope! If you call yourself the world's last hope, then get up and fight!" Yellow ended, with her pressing the EvolBracelet, transforming her into Shinkai Pink. Now able to fight, Yellow then kicked Gecko Inhumanoid's platoon of Hoplite Soldiers while overclocking her cybernetic systems in order to quickly kill them, eventually attacking Gecko Inhumanoid as well with simple punches and kicks. Like her husband, Yellow had no previous fighting experience, but she was trying her best regardless in order to motivate Ran and the others.
Yellow then used her fairy powers to turn herself into pink smoke, taking out the Clone Medal and inserting it into the EvolBracelet in place of the Sylveon Medal. She then pressed down on the button, activating its abilities.
AUXILIARY!
This caused Yellow to be duplicated into three, hence the medal's name, and she then decided to disorient the Sceptile cyborg by spinning around him while still in smoke form. This worked, and after a few minutes or so, Yellow was able to land a hit which caused some damage to the Inhumanoid, prompting her to return back to corporeal form, still duplicated into three. The former psychic Trainer then decided to take the opportunity to use the EvolRapier in a combo attack with her clones, taking out the Talonflame and Charizard Medals and throwing them over to her copies. The three Shinkai Pinks would then activate a finishing blow each with their duplicate swords, using the Talonflame, Charizard, and Sylveon Medals, slashing Gecko Inhumanoid one after another.
FINISHING BLOW!
CHARIZARD! ONE STRIKE SLASH! FAIRY!
TALONFLAME! ONE STRIKE SLASH! FAIRY!
SYLVEON! ONE STRIKE SLASH! FAIRY!
The three slashes were able to knock Gecko Inhumanoid a few feet back until he had crashed into Rhino Inhumanoid, making the two monsters fall to the ground for a bit. Ryouma then took the chance to go for a full-on assault while Yellow's duplicates then disappeared, with her aiding the Black warrior in battle. Hikaru and Ran however was still down on morale, so Yellow had no choice but to give them a reality check while still impersonating Erina.
"Don't slack off on the fight, Ran, Hikaru! Everyone's rooting for the both of you now! Plus, you don't big brother to kill you, right?!"
"I guess she has a point..." Hikaru remarked, sharing a glance with Ran, who responded back, before the two then finally got up. "I definitely don't want to get grilled, then."
"Spark Change!"
And with that, Ran and Hikaru had returned to the fight, all thanks to Yellow motivating the two via possessing Erina. The two Shinkaigers then began to gang up on both Rhino and Gecko Inhumanoid, however they were still far from being able to deal moderate damage like what Yellow did. Even though she was merely just possessing Erina and using her body to fight, her fighting style was more effective, allowing her to pack more of a punch than what the 15-year old usually did. Seeing that Ran and Hikaru had managed to return back to fighting, Yellow then simply smiled, before she then focused back on the battle. On Ran and Hikaru's part though, the two Shinkaiger members then took on Rhino Inhumanoid at once, prompting Ryouma to switch targeting Gecko Inhumanoid alongside Yellow. The duo were trying their best to deal at least moderate damage to the monster, as shown by Hikaru now using Mega Blastoise again, and he had decided to go all-out by deploying his cybernetic arms' built-in water cannons, using it in addition to the larger ones on his shoulders. And the 17-year old wasn't playing around; he had overclocked his cybernetic systems to around 300% by overcharging all four of his cannons.
Once he thought it was enough, Hikaru then proceeded to fire all four of his cannons to the Rhyperior monster, dealing moderate damage to him due to the cyborg being part Rock-type. "Take this, you goofy rhino man!" The attack would then knock the Inhumanoid back a few feet, prompting Ran to shoot electric bursts at him using his EvolArrow, only for it to not work due to his Ground typing. "N̴̬̤͊i̵̝̳̍c̵̣̊ė̸͉͗ ̴͔̑ẗ̷̩͖̈r̵͔̀́ý̵̖̖͑,̵̛̪͎͌ ̴͈̚Ș̴̛̻͐ḩ̵̗̅̂ì̸̱n̶̢̪̿̐ḳ̵̀ạ̴̲̍̊ĩ̴̹͚̂ ̶̫̑͐Y̶̙̦̐́e̶͕̥̽̓l̶͈̆l̷̫͚͘o̵̡͔͑̐ẘ̵̢̑ ̷͉̀̄ą̷͠n̶͚̾̾d̸̨̙̆͝ ̸̬͈̅̾S̷͚͌͘ḧ̴͓̬́i̴̯̖͘n̴̠̭̆̾k̶̦͓̂ą̴̄͘ì̶̳ ̴̯̀͊B̴͉̉ͅl̶͕̈́u̸͔̻̚e̸̞̽͛!̶͎͚̾̃ ̴͚͋̋B̸̲̼́͝ǘ̵̝̪t̷̯̓͂ ̴̨͂̑y̷̩̋̍o̶̱̖̍͠ũ̸͉̅͜ ̷̖͍͂w̴̮̚o̴̠͊̄u̴̲͒̄l̴̖̇d̴̡̈́'̶̌̂͜ͅn̷̯̄͌t̶̖̳͠ ̶̠̃̇d̸͙̒̾ä̵̠̥́m̷̨͉̓ā̷̧̞g̸͎̓̈́e̶̬͝ ̷̈́ͅm̸̼̻̓e̸̗̣̓̔ ̴̛͕͉̉w̵̢͓͝i̴͔̟͗t̷̖̫̎̆h̸̰̍̍ ̷͈̬͗ţ̶̮̂h̸̯̑̍ô̴̝̥̆ș̴͖̑͋ë̵̼́͑ ̵̙̞̊m̶͉̝͗e̶̳͂̈́ȃ̴͙s̸̡̀̋ļ̶̨̓̏ỵ̶̜́̕ ̵̧̬̌ǎ̷̤ͅt̵̜́͘ṯ̸̘͗̓ặ̸̲̇c̸͚͘k̵̲̍ś̸̠!̵̆ͅ ̸̡͋Ḧ̵̘́e̷̞͆h̷̢͂̅ẹ̸̜̓͆h̷̡͍̀̔e̸̥͠ḫ̴̆͠è̸̮h̵̫͉̽̑!̴̡̣͋͌"
"Dang it, if only I can hit him..." Ran internally said while gritting his teeth in frustration. Just then, Ran's communicator began to beep, indicating a call from the Guardia Base. It was actually Keito who had called him, apparently because of an important matter.
"Ran, do you hear me?"
"Silver?"
"Oui oui! Anyways, Professor Shigeru and Lillie-san just purified a new Electric-type medal; Manectric, if you want to be specific. They're hoping for you to test its performance properly using the Axis Brace, as this will give you a massive power boost. Check your Medal Holder, it should already be there for you to use. Good luck, alright? Be sure to call me if you need any help!" Keito explained from the other side of the dial. "Thanks, Keito!" Ran responded simply, strapping his copy of the Axis Brace on his unoccupied wrist before promptly opening his Medal Holder and taking out a light blue medal with gold accents and a gold symbol reminiscent of a Manectric.
MANECTRIC!
The 16-year old then inserts the aforementioned medal into the middle slot of the bracelet, causing the device to play its standby music. An astral projection of a Manectric and a projection of the Mega Evolution sigil would then appear at the same time, with the Manectric jumping through the sigil a few seconds later, transforming itself into Mega Manectric before spinning around Ran. With no other flashy poses, he then simply presses the button of the device, causing sparks of electricity to engulf him entirely.
AXIS UP!
SHOCKING! (VOLTAGE!) LIGHTNING! (SPEED!) GALVA~ NIZING! MEGA MANECTRIC! MEGA! MANECTRIC!
With the transformation process now completed, Ran was revealed to be decked out in a light blue undersuit, with the upper part of his torso completely covered in yellow armor, including a triangular chestplate. His shoulders were equipped with yellow shoulder pads, and his forearms were also equipped with bracers. His hands were colored red, separated from the blue parrs of the suit by three yellow spikes. His legs were alsp equipped with shin guards and kneepads, and his boots were colored red, with yellow accents. Meanwhile, Ran's helmet didn't change much; it had only gained extra yellow spikes resembling Mega Manectric's mane, and the 'eyes' now looked angrier and were colored red, and the helmet's mouthpiece had changed color to light blue, matching the undersuit, but the helmet's basic shape remained very much untouched. The belt also did not change as well.
Now receiving a massive power boost, Ran then proceeds to attack both Gecko and Rhino Inhumanoid all at once at the same time, surprising the team (even Yellow) as a result due to the sheer amount of power that he had exerted out, causing Hikaru to also let out his own remarks. "Whoa, Brainiac! That was powerful!"
"Shut up and focus, Hikaru! We still have a fight to finish!" Ran ordered sternly. The Kalosian trainer then proceeded to go back into the fight, at first deciding to deliver some basic electrically charged punches and kicks to the two Inhumanoids. However, due to him having little stamina compared to his other fellow rangers (mainly due to him spending most of his time making inventions or solving complex issues and rarely working out in training sessions to begin with), he ultimately decided to go for the long-range route, shooting out electric bursts with the EvolArrow while charging the weapon with his electrically conducting hands and aiming it at Rhino Inhumanoid.

However, he was instead met by a response from another person. "Not when I'm around!"
SHIN~KAI SILVER!
It was Keito, who had just arrived in the area riding on the Silveruiser and already transformed into Shinkai Silver. "Rhino Inhumanoid, I'll be your opponent too!" In response, the aforementioned monster then began taunting the Steel-type user. "B̷̝̄r̶͔͚̎i̷͍̓ņ̸̆g̶̢̗̉ ̴̎͊͜i̵͉͗͝t̷͚͝ ̶̋ͅo̵̤̱̔ñ̴̦̎,̸̺̏͝ ̶̮͗e̷̞̊h̷̬͒͒é̴̢̗h̸̗̪̆e̴͘̕͜h̸̗͕̍é̴͓h̴͋̍͜!̸͈̉̎ ̴͙̓̇Y̵̡̬͋ȏ̷̖͖u̷͙̇̎ ̴̲̇c̵̨̱̐a̵̜̾́n̸̢̫̊'̷̠̻̃ţ̶̾̌ ̵̥̑d̴͈̕è̵̪̳̈́f̶̦̹̂ẻ̶̜a̴̭̝͝t̸̛͍͊ ̵̯̿̒m̶̖͎̿̑ę̶̣̎ ̴̯̈d̴͇̪͂e̵̠̯̅͂s̶̨̯̋p̷̪̾i̶̩̊̀t̵̳̜̉ė̴̼͎̚ ̸̱̤́͝ȟ̷̹̏ͅa̶̲̚͝v̷̠̻̽̋i̶͓͂͆ń̵̝g̴͈̔͘ ̸͍̀ộ̴̄n̸̨̳̑ë̵ͅ ̴̨̟̇̑n̷̲̉ͅẹ̸͈̀̉w̶̖̰͋ ̸͔̊͌m̴̨͍̾͂e̶̖̲͑̚m̵̯͘b̷̯̈́̿è̵̥r̷̥̂͗!̷͙̻̃ ̶͕͙͐Ī̴̺'̵͎̆̎m̶̧͜͝ ̷͎͓̏͘ȉ̵͍͗m̵̡̖͗m̸̙̼̊õ̸̱̳r̶̮͌ť̵͇̫̚a̵͕͋l̴̻̦̇!̴̜̉"
"Wrong, Rhino Inhumanoid! We Shinkaigers will never give up, no matter how hard the situation would be!' Ran retorted. "And this time, we'll make sure your gecko friend over there stays dead!" Keito added.
"D̷̦͛̒ă̸̳̭m̵̟̃͋n̶̻͑͌ ̵̩̑́y̶̜̩̌̒o̵̡̗͌͊ủ̵͈̞̚ ̵̟̿â̴̠̕l̴͔̟͑l̵̹͌.̶̢̎.̵͇̠̆.̴͓̍ ̷͎̓͘Ḩ̵̿̈́o̷͈͇͋͒p̷̰͛͊l̵̮̆͠ĭ̷̧̦t̷̛̞͠e̴̲̖̔̂ ̵̈́͜Ṣ̵̄õ̴͙ĺ̶͈d̵͈̋í̵̬e̴̞̞͘ȓ̶̞̰̈́s̵̖̱̆!̴͓̀́ ̶̝̃̀Ġ̵͙e̴̥͆͊t̷̯̽̋ ̸̟̣̾̊ţ̶͕̓̈́h̷̫͎̆͒e̸͕͓͗̚ṃ̶̺͊!̷̠͆͛"
The Rhyperior-based monster then summoned two platoons of Hoplite Soldiers to aid himself and Gecko Inhumanoid, but the Shinkaigers ended up managing to beat them to death fairly quickly, with Ran electrocuting Rhino Inhumanoid's whole platoon by just punching the ground with his electrically conducting hands. With the mooks out of the way, the team then resumed ganging up on the two cyborg abominations, with Ran dealing damage to the Rhyperior cyborg using a combination of long-range arrow shots and electrically charged punches. Hikaru was also dealing massive damage to Gecko Inhumanoid using all four of his water cannons, and Yellow was, surprisingly enough, able to make a dent at her opponent unlike what Erina was able to do due to her more effective fighting style. Soon, both monsters were already severely weakened.
"Are we going for the kill, eh, guys? I think it's time we put these monstres out of their misery." Keito said, everyone nodding. As a result, each of the Shinkaigers then pressed the triggers of their weapons, in Ran and Hikaru's case the Axis Brace button.
FINISHING BLOW!
"Tonnerre de Désastre!" (Thunder of Disaster!)
"Pāpā Pāhā Moana!" (Oceanic Quadruple Shoot!)
"Umbra Full Blast Charge!"
"Argent Steelstrike Slash!"
The team then proceeded to deliver two combined attacks using their weapons towards the two monsters, with Ryouma firing off his large laser projectile, Keito delivering a supercharged horizontal slash, Yellow delivering Erina's 360-degree slash (albeit not named like usual), and Hikaru firing his overcharged water cannons. Ran however jumps up into the sky, and then delivers a corkscrew kick to Rhino Inhumanoid, mortally wounding him. The Yellow warrior would then land safely as Hikaru's supercharged jets of boiling water would hit the rhinoceros-based monster, causing him to explode to his first death while screaming in agony. Gecko Inhumanoid would then fall to the same fate, lamenting one last time before exploding to his second death at the hands of Keito, Ryouma and Yellow's combined attacks. SKARMORY! ONE STRIKE SLASH! STEEL!
The Shinkaigers, despite being without their Red Ranger and trusted leader, had managed to pull through. But just then, the two monsters' fail-safe programs then activated, reviving them and growing them to giant size, much to the dismay of the team. The two monsters then began rampaging around the city simultaneously, making Ran go ballistic thinking about how they should face two monsters all at once at the same time. The aforementioned Yellow warrior had, quite literally, panicked. "Oh no, oh no, oh no! This is bad, this is bad...!"
"Keep yourself composed, Ran-san!" Yellow said, assuring her granddaughter's teammate while also impersonating Erina. Fortunately, Keito ended up having a light-bulb moment during the issue, turning on his communicator to speak to Lillie. "Lillie-san, can you please open the Guardia Base hangars for me? I think it's time I finally use my secret trump card again after one and a half years."
"Sure, Keito. Just give me the confirmation and I'll also go ahead and autopilot it to you." Lillie responded.
"Alright then, thank you. EvolFighter, deploy!" Keito proclaimed, prompting Lillie to summon the aforementioned vehicle using her U-Phone, pressing the number '6'.
Summon Mecha, On!
Fighter!
Summoning, Go!
With that, the Guardia Base's hangar doors would then open, revealing a silver and black air superiority fighter jet hidden at the back section of the base. The vehicle would then take off and retract its landing gear, soaring to the coordinates of the battlefield where the Shinkaigers were fighting and hovering over it. The presence of the aircraft then surprised the other team members, just as Keito would then unfurl his mechanical draconic wings to fly up into the air and make his way to the cockpit. "HE HAS A MECH!?" Hikaru exclaimed in surprise. The others, including Yellow and Erina (who witnessed everything while her grandmother was controlling her body), were basically speechless.
Entering his fighter jet's cockpit, Keito then assumes semi-automatic control of the vehicle, leaving some of the plane's features to be controlled by Lillie while he does the majority of the piloting. The Silver warrior then decides to catch the attention of the two monsters, swerving dangerously closer towards them in order to have the two cyborg abominations provoked. Fortunately, Keito was able to avoid all of their attacks and had managed to not get his plane crushed at the same time, ultimately deciding to retaliate with his on-board weaponry. "Striebro Missiles, switch on!"
The aircraft then began shooting out its arsenal of air-launched ballistic missiles stored in its nose section just as Keito activated the button that enabled them to do so. Said missiles would then hit their targets perfectly, irritating the two Inhumanoids due to the damage it had caused. As revenge, the monsters would then try their best attacking the aircraft once again, but Keito was faster, and he ultimately managed to dodge out of the way with a sharp turn. That was the specific moment when the 19-year old had another lightbulb go off in his head, speaking to Lillie once again through the comms in his helmet. "Lillie-san, don't you think it's about time I even out the playing field?"
The Alolan woman, in response, quickly understood what her protege was saying, letting out her own remarks. "Show the rest of the team what tricks their sixth warrior has at his disposal and what he can do, Keito." This statement then prompted the Silver warrior to start lowering the EvolFighter back to the surface, as Lillie then reopened her U-Phone's developer console at the Guardia Base, accessing one of its hidden features.
Transform Mecha, On!
Fighter!
ShinkaiKnight, Go!
"Shuugo Henkei!" was simply the codeword that Keito had proclaimed to initiate everything.
10 meters above the ground, the EvolFighter starts the process autonomously by folding up its two lateral fins. The lateral sides of the aforementioned air superiority fighter jet are then brought down, and the robot's feet are then oriented in such a way that it would touch the ground upon landing. The aircraft then touches down on the ground, before its nose cone would then be folded up to its top section. With it completed, the EvolFighter then orients itself using small thrusters to get into the correct standing position, using its legs as the center of rotation. The vehicle then folds the robot's head up to its correct position, before the process is then finally completed with the sides of the plane's underside closing to form the robot's chest.
With the transformation completed, Keito then proceeds to assume full manual control of the mecha inside of the cockpit, as he controls the robot to do a simple battle pose.
SHINKAIKNIGHT!
"En garde." The Silver warrior proclaimed, cracking his knuckles before beginning to control ShinkaiKnight. The aforementioned robot then practically roared to life seconds later.
On the ground, the Shinkaigers were still speechless, as they were practically shocked and gobsmacked at seeing what the 19-year old Kalosian had actually hidden right up his sleeves. However, the silence was broken as Ran and the rest of the team were informed by Keito through their communicators. "Everyone, going up on a two-versus-one battle alone isn't fair, but I'm confident that I can solo this fight all by myself. Don't use Shinkai-Oh, and if I fail to deliver what I just said, let Erina or Takeru bitch slap me in the face, alright?"
"Got it, Silver." Ran responded, trying to hold back a chuckle from what the Steel-type user had said earlier.
With that, ShinkaiKnight then began charging towards the two cyborg monsters, attacking them using basic punches at first in order to weaken them for a bit. However, after a few minutes, the two Inhumanoids were able to put the robot in an arm-lock, only for Keito to break free by pressing a button at his control console.
"Double Rocket Punch!" He proclaimed, and ShinkaiKnight's hands would then launch right into the two monsters' guts like a projectile before re-attaching back onto its arms. Keito then turned on another cluster of ShinkaiKnight's thrusters, causing the robot to deliver a kick to Rhino Inhumanoid and sending him crashing right into his comrade. "Argent Kick!"
In response, Gecko Inhumanoid would then deliver a much more lethal version of Bullet Seed, only for Keito to deflect it by summoning a new weapon. "T̶̪̉͑à̴̯k̴͎̪̽ę̸̳̂̆ ̷͚̄̚t̸̺̫̒̂h̷̠͝i̵̢̅͌s̸̟̉̚͜,̸̣̒̚ ̶̨̛̼ī̴̙m̵̧͑̌p̸͎͂ṳ̵̣̈́̂d̵̻̅ȅ̶̮n̶͚̾̂͜t̸̯̼͘ ̷̖̐̆h̷̹̯̿û̴͔̟m̶̮̜̄ǎ̵̪̞͋n̴̘̊͊!̶̝̥͂͝"
"It won't work, Gecko Inhumanoid. "Teraz Cutlass!" The Silver warrior then proceeded to summon a large cutlass, with the weapon materializing in the robot's left arm. Keito then proceeded to control ShinkaiKnight to slash through the two monsters with the Teraz Cutlass, attacking them relentlessly until both monsters were taking moderate damage. Feeling a bit weakened, the Rhyperior-based monster then decided that it was his turn to attack, delivering a lethal version of the move Rock Wrecker. However, the 19-year old Kalosian was faster, as usual, and, using the Teraz Cutlass, he had managed to deflect the attack back to both Rhino and Gecko Inhumanoid, causing them to get weakened enough that the Silver warrior had decided it was time for the kill they deserved.
"Eisen Sword!" Keito proclaimed before pressing another button at his control consoles, causing the Teraz Cutlass to be digitized away into data and a large sword to be materialized in its place. He then begins pressing a few buttons, ultimately proclaiming his finisher attack.
"Silver Photon Slash!"
ShinkaiKnight then takes up a battle stance, charging the Eisen Sword with white energy, before swinging the aforementioned saber to form a white energy circle in the air. The robot then proceeds to deliver a zigzagged horizontal slash to both Rhino and Gecko Inhumanoid, creating a thunderbolt-shaped gash on the two monsters, and causing them to explode to their second and third deaths, respectively.
Keito had managed to pull the impossible, proving his might to the rest of his team, with him controlling ShinkaiKnight to strike a few more battle poses in triumph.
Olympus Castle, Kalos
"Damn it, another failure...!" Zeus muttered in frustration, also gritting his teeth in anger. Apollo though, had even worse consequences seeing the loss.
"Even with a new member, they still manage to put a stop to our schemes regardless of how hard we try... BLASTED SHUUGO SENTAI!"
"Do not worry, Apollo! I still have a plan regarding how to deal with the Shinkaigers that I need to set in motion. However, we need to wait patiently for the opportunity to rise. While we do that, however, I have one objective for you." Zeus summarized, causing the young general to snap out of his breakdown and raise an eyebrow.
"Oh?"
The M.Y.T.H.O.S leader then straightforwardly responded with an explanation to said objective. "Gather all data regarding the Shinkaigers to the best of your abilities. From their true identities, abilities, weaknesses, and all the way to their family members. This time... we... WILL ATTACK THEM DIRECTLY!
It was clear he was up to no good, but only time will tell what Zeus has in store for the six Shinkaigers.
To be continued
Author's Note: Oh dang. 4 months is a long, long break.
Morgan Alter and I immediately began writing this chapter in January right after Chapter 12 was posted, but I ended up getting hit by a severe case of writer's block (as my mind barely had any ideas popping up), and personal issues got into my way a lot of times when I was trying to get back into writing. Fortunately, late March and early April ended up being holiday seasons for me in the country where I live, and I've spent much of those time periods brainstorming ideas while writing this chapter.
Not many noteworthy stuff is in this chapter however, besides Takeru's absence after getting curbstomped hard by Keito, Yellow's major role in this chapter as a moodbooster to the team via her possessing Erina and causing Ran to have a new form in the process, and most importantly, the main event being ShinkaiKnight's debut.
Ran getting Mega Manectric was actually a last-minute decision on my part, as I've felt that the other Shinkaigers haven't had gotten a lot of new forms besides Takeru, and I don't want the fic in itself to be too Red Ranger-heavy and make it seem like the other characters just exist in the story just to make said Red Ranger even cooler. Ran getting a new form and him stepping in as a temporary replacement for Takeru is basically perfect to give him some focus, despite Keito utterly stealing the spotlight with ShinkaiKnight. Speaking of the obvious though, I decided to have the mecha's fighting style draw inspiration from Denshi Sentai Denziman's DaiDenzin, as both robots share the same transforming mechanic. Regarding the ending scene above, it looks like Zeus is up to no good, but again, you'll have to find out in a future update.
And I forgot to mention one last thing: Shinkaiger is now a year old! It's been a wild journey writing this fic so far, and we really enjoy writing this story from the very beginning. Morgan Alter and I both greatly appreciate your feedback, as it helps the both of us improve the quality of this story and your reading experiences. As always, read, review, comment, and point out any errors and mistakes if possible. Favs and Follows are greatly appreciated.
