Ritsuka could only walk home with utter confusion at the strange event that happened to him a few minutes ago.
He only went out late at night because his sister forgot to buy groceries when she went out. Since it was already so late in the night, he decided that he would be the one to buy them and bring them back home alone since his sister was already preparing for bed before he went out.
What he didn't expect was that his right hand would suddenly burn, forcing him to drop his groceries.
"What the hell was that…? Whatever, I'll just deal with it at home." He muttered underneath his breath as he proceeded to pick up his groceries and proceeded to go home.
That would have been the only strange thing that might have happened tonight, were it not for a female knight to suddenly appear right in front of him, he didn't hear what she said due to the shock, making him drop his groceries again but this time the female knight somehow managed to catch them before they hit the ground.
He could only gape at the blonde knight and was about to ask her a bunch of questions but she interrupted him, telling him to ask his questions at his house and something about a command seal?
The blonde knight pointed out one of his hands which then he took a closer look at, he saw red markings on it. The markings look like they are a strange type of wings but he isn't sure what the shape is exactly.
He was shocked, confused, and panicking all at the same time, he just couldn't find the right expression on how to convey it, so much so that the only thing he could do was introduce himself to this female knight, who responded in kind calling herself Saber.
And then after that, she vanished. Just poof! Gone like the wind.
Now he stands at the front of his gate, still wondering if he is still dreaming or not. He looks back at the mark of his hand and tries to rub it off. Nope, it is not removing and he is definitely not dreaming this. But if that's the case then…
Where did Saber go?
Maybe she is invisible and was following him the whole time or perhaps she has other business to attend to and she might come back to the house? Either way, this is making him feel anxious.
"Saber...you here?" He calls out to her in a whisper as to not attract too much attention to himself or maybe the people who might pass by him.
But he was rewarded with no response at all, except the wind rustling in the air. Ritsuka can only sigh, thinking that maybe he is having an ultra-realistic dream and he should probably lie down in bed.
Sighing to himself for being maybe crazy, he opened the small metal gate that was recently replaced, walked up to the front door, fished out his key from his pocket before opening the door to his dark hallway.
"Gudako, I'm home!" He called out as he entered the otherwise dark and empty living room. No sign of his sister who was here an hour or two ago before he left to buy groceries. He shrugged his shoulders, probably already in her room, playing video games or having fallen asleep.
He decided to turn on the lights and place all his groceries on his counter. He dumped them all out for him to see and started to arrange them in the cabinets and the fridge.
As he was focused on his task, he did not notice the footsteps that were coming from the left of him before being hugged from behind suddenly. Ritsuka jumped a bit but relaxed as he could see the orange bits of his sister's hair from the corner of his eyes.
"Hey Rits. What took you so long?" Her voice was muffled as she was rubbing her head onto his back, making him feel weird, especially since her chest is also making the same motions.
"You know me, Guda, I like to take the scenic route every now and then." He replied as he finished placing his eggs into the fridge before closing its door. "Anyway, what are you doing this…" As he turned around to greet his sister properly, he was shocked by the attire she was wearing.
She is wearing a white off-the-shoulder dress with its midriff cut off, showing off her milky white skin. To match with it, she is also wearing black tights that are see-through, evident by seeing parts of her legs.
Her hairstyle is also widely different from before. While her usual red hair is tied in a side ponytail on the left side with a yellow hairband, this time around, her ponytail is let down, braided onto her left shoulder, and trying the tip of it with the same yellow hairband.
Her light orange eyes sparkled when she saw the shocked look of her brother. She gave him an alluring smile. "Do you like what I'm wearing, Rits?"
He could only open his mouth in surprise as he tried to fight back the heat that was permeating his face, which he failed miserably. "Wh-wha… What are you wearing?!" The words were almost stuck in his throat but he managed to get those words out.
Gudako grinned before she went back to hugging him, snaking her arms around his neck as she pulled him just a bit closer to her face. "I'm just wearing some new clothes I bought a while back in Tokyo. I wanted to show you these but I haven't had the time yet to do so." Ritsuka can feel the breath of his sister, not helping the fact that he couldn't stop staring right at her face, lest he stares somewhere...that could probably get him to jail.
He could only try and hold himself together to give back a response. "It...looks good on you. I like what you...did with your hair too."
She beamed at his praise. "Thanks! I really wanted to try braids on my hair, but since my hair was too short for a long one, I decided to make a small one onto my shoulder."
Ritsuka could only numb dumbly as he shook his head to get his thoughts cleared, pushing his sister off of him. "Is there a reason why you are wearing this?"
"Oh simple! I wanna see if I can get a boyfriend with this outfit."
His entire body stood up straight as if he was electrocuted. His blue eyes stare in absolute shock at his sister and before he could even muster up a reply, his sister simply rolls down the floor, bursting in laughter at the shock of her brother's face.
Ritsuka could only sigh in frustration. "Seriously Guda really? The Boyfriend prank? Of all the pranks you could have done, you decided on this one?"
Gudako wiped her tears from her eyes before standing up, still holding back some of her laughter. "Why not? It worked, didn't it? The look of shock on your face was just too good to pass up." She then realized something and slumped her head depressingly. "Damn, I wish I had my camera with me. That type of face was just too priceless."
Ritsuka's eyebrow twitched at the muttering of his sister. He promptly ignores her and continues his previous task. "If you have time to prank me then you have time to also help me with these groceries."
Gudako let out a contented sigh before going to her brother's side and also helping him keep the groceries. "Yeah yeah Rits, don't worry. I'll help."
And within a few minutes of comfortable silence, with the occasional sounds, they managed to unpack all the groceries and store them in their proper places.
Ritsuka smiled at the finished task before turning to his sister. "Thanks, Guda, you really helped me there." He gave her a few pats on the head before frowning. "Please take your clothes off. It's...distracting."
Gudako gave a smug grin. "My my Rits, I didn't know you felt that way about me. Take me to dinner first and well, we shall see where we go from there~!"
Ritsuka sputtered as his face glowed bright red at her proposal. "Wh-what?! Why would I go on a date with you?! You're my sister!"
"Oh but Rits," Gudako smirked before hugging him from behind again. "Just because I said date, doesn't mean I want you to be my boyfriend. You're too...plain for my taste."
Ritsuka could not even respond to just the brutal response her own sister gave him. He could only gape his mouth, his blush still present as he turned around to see the ever-present smirk on his sister's face.
Ritsuka gritted his teeth and before he could act out on his anger, she immediately pushed him off, sensing his anger. "Nuh-uh Rits. You're gonna have to work on that temper of yours. Man, so feisty." Gudako's smirk only ever widened just a bit more and that broke him.
"GUDAKO!" The teasing was too much for him to handle and exploded in rage, it resulted in him chasing his own sister.
Gudako can only give him a stink eye as she was able to avoid getting caught by him whenever he got close to her. While both of them had good physiques, his sister was far more fit as she joined the track club in her previous years, allowing her to always outrun him. But not by much as Ritsuka himself joined the swimming club as well, giving him the stamina also to outlast his sister...probably.
The game of tag lasted for about a minute or two before Ritsuka managed to actually grab her hand, pull her over and give her a noogie to her head.
"Ow ow ow! Stop it, Rits, it hurts~!" She moaned in pain as her head was furiously being scratched on.
"Nope, till I had my fill." And he wouldn't have any of it. She wasn't able to escape due to him being far stronger than her, making her completely helpless against him until he had his fill and released her.
Gudako pouted at her brother. "Meanie."
Ritsuka couldn't help but smirk for his petty yet satisfying victory. "Well, that was your fault for teasing me so much! Maybe don't do that next time then."
Gudako rolled her eyes but smiled at him. "Ok ok, I'll stop. But can you go to the living room first? I wanna talk about something really important and I need to get something from my room first."
Ritsuka raised his eyebrow at his sister's request but shrugs and ultimately complies as he went straight to the couch of the living room and sat down while Gudako left to go to her room to get something in there.
He waited for about a few minutes, checking his phone on some games he wanted to play before he heard footsteps from the hallway. He glanced up only to be shocked even further. If he thought that his sister couldn't get any lewder than this...well he was mistaken.
The hairstyle of his sister was returned to what he was used to seeing which is a side ponytail, her outfit is entirely different. It's an orange and white skin-tight suit that does nothing but insinuate the curves that she has on her. He couldn't help but blush at the indecency. This was next-level seduction right here.
"What what?! Guda!? What are you wearing?!"
Gudako only gave her a smug grin at him before changing her expression into something serious, which sent chills down Ritsuka's spine as she pointed at him with a finger gun.
"Oh, this is just something to help me cast a spell."
Ritsuka wanted to say something but before he could even reply, her fingertips started to crackle with energy. A black form could be seen, gathering at the tip of her finger, crackling with yellow lightning around it.
"Guda? What's going on?" He couldn't help but let out a whimper as he had never seen his sister like this before. Sure, he has seen her go serious at one point but not with this much intensity and not also being the prime target of said seriousness.
"This won't kill you Rits, it'll just hurt for a bit. I needed to test something that has been bothering me for a while so sorry!" Gudako apologized as the black bullet had finished forming, and was immediately fired on to him.
Before the bullet could even make it halfway across the room, a flash of wind cut down the bullet immediately, disintegrating it in an instant. Ritsuka noticed Saber standing in front of him, still clad in her medieval armor.
Saber then pointed something invisible at Gudako's throat. "Why did you just try to curse your own brother? Are you an enemy?"
Gudako couldn't help but smirk, despite being held at sword point in her neck. "I knew there was something strange that was with my brother when he arrived at home, so I figured that I was gonna drag out whatever caused my Boundary Field to go off in such a matter."
She looked at Ritsuka as she gave him an apologetic smile before gazing back at Saber. "But I never expected it to be a Servant at all, much less a Saber one, judging by the outfit and the weapon you may be holding."
Saber still held her blade at her neck, not intending to let her off so easily. "So you decided to threaten your own brother and even throw a curse at him as bait just to reveal my presence? What would have happened if it actually hit him?"
"It wouldn't have hurt him at all. My mystic code's Gandr is designed not to curse him but rather paralyzed him only for a minute, locking up his nerves and preventing him from moving but he will still be breathing." Gudako easily replied as she grabbed the blade and put it away from her neck. "Besides, why would I ever try to harm my brother in the first place? Our household prioritizes family above the pursuit of our craft so I would never even dare to think of harming my brother in a million years. Question is though…"
Gudako glared with so much hatred at Saber that I could see blue lines beginning to form around her arms and legs. "Are you willing to do what is necessary for your wish? Even if it meant the endangerment of my brother "
Ritsuka couldn't read Saber's expression at that moment. It was as if she didn't even have emotions, to begin with. It was just a stone face that even he couldn't pull off so easily, not without practice. Saber shook her head. "I will never put your brother in harm's way. As long as I shall draw breath, nothing shall harm him for he is my only way to get my wish."
They both stared at each other for a few moments. The tension is thick, one wrong move, and everything can go to hell rather quickly.
So really, there was only one solution to this problem. Defuse it in such an unsuspecting manner. Roll with the punches as usual. This wouldn't be the first time Ritsuka was caught off-guard in an unfamiliar situation and certainly wouldn't be the last. That would be thanks to his sister who drags him to said circumstances.
He got up suddenly from his couch, alerting the two women as he walked over to the cabinets above and got something out of it, showing the item to both of them who were staring at him in bewilderment.
Rice crackers, wrapped in a branded plastic.
"We're gonna be here a while no? Might as well have a snack while you tell me what's going on with this magic stuff right? Want one?"
Few minutes later, they were all seated on the table, rice cracker plastic in each hand or rather ten empty bags on Saber's side of the table.
Seriously though, how can she eat that many and still can eat more?! Well, Ritsuka's wallet is gonna be crying sooner than he thought.
"Now before I tell you what's going on Rits, I need to ask Saber something." Ritsuka nodded, allowing Gudako to turn to Saber, still eating on the eleventh rice cracker junk food. "Are you perhaps by chance, a stray servant?"
Saber nodded dutifully. "I am indeed. My previous master did not wish to participate in the Holy Grail War and thus, used a command seal to allow me to find a suitable master for me to continue participating."
'Holy Grail War and Command Seals huh?' Ritsuka looked at the red seals on his hand and wondered if this is the so-called command seal she was talking about? He will get his answers soon enough so he patiently waited for his sister to do her thing.
"I see…" She glanced toward him, grimacing as she rubbed her head before looking at Saber again. "By any chance Saber, were you summoned using a catalyst?"
Saber gave a contemplating look as she gave her response. "I believe not but I think my previous master may have a connection to a catalyst but I'm not sure of it as I haven't interacted with him long enough to determine it."
Gudako looked over to him once more for a moment before letting out a sigh. "If you were summoned with a catalyst, that would mean you are a servant that is sought after then if the magus wanted to find your catalyst to summon you...but on the off chance that you are just a random summon, you are better off…" She trailed off, pondering her options for a bit before shaking her head. "Nah, not worth the hassle of setting up the circle. I can't remember the incantation nor the circle itself anyway so you would have to do."
She looked at Ritsuka's red seals on his hand. "I need you to establish your connection to her first Rits."
Ritsuka looked at his sister in confusion. "Establish connection? What do you mean?"
Saber decided to jump in to help. "My nature is that of a spirit, which requires the use of magical energy. In order to remain in this world, I need to be tethered with a being that has magical energy. You have the command seals that would allow me to establish a connection with your magic circuits and will be able to sustain my existence here."
"So you're a ghost then Saber?"
Saber bit her lip at the analogy but simply nodded for simplicity's sake.
"Her nature is a bit more complicated than a simple ghost brother." Ritsuka looked towards his sister. "But yeah, a ghost that can actually touch and feel things I suppose and they need magical energy to sustain themselves otherwise they would disappear. So all you have to do is point your command seals at her, make-up an oath or something and you should be able to stabilize her existence."
Ritsuka shrugged. He had no idea what's really going on but he figured that it would be explained soon enough if he just got it over with. So he turned to Saber, extend his right hand to her and…
…
…
…
"Umm Guda?"
"Yeah Rits?"
"What type of oath should I make to her?"
Gudako seemed to be at a loss as she tried to think of something. "Well uhh...I guess make an oath that...umm actually, I don't know…"
"What do you mean you don't know?!"
"I mean I don't know Rits!"
"Your the expert of this magic stuff and you don't know?!"
"Look, I didn't expect to be dragged into this accursed ritual in the first place ok?! I never had to prepare for this type of scenario! Just...think of an oath that you will help her as long as she does good or something…"
Ritsuka could only sigh at his sister. But decided that arguing about this issue is not gonna get his answers any sooner. He thinks up of an oath for a moment, trying to construct the words properly.
After a few moments of silence, he nodded and gave an oath. Ritsuka stands up from his table and puts out his right hand towards Saber. "Saber, do you swear that your blade will be used to decimate true evil? That your might will be used to defend the weak and helpless? That your heart will know no fear in the depths of eternal darkness? If so, accept this oath now and become my guardian!"
Saber knelt down in front of Ritsuka and placed her first into her chest. "I, Servant Saber, hereby accept your oath and will become your guardian to protect you and all of the innocents in this Holy Grail War, Master!"
A red light pulses from his hand, connecting to Saber as she can feel the newly established bond with her new master.
Ritsuka collapsed onto his hands. Sweat is pouring down on him as he can feel immense pain and heat from his entire body, lighting them up in blue lines, similar to how to his sister before.
Gudako went to her brother's side immediately to rub his back, but couldn't help but tease him a bit. "So, channeling your inner chunni Rits? Gonna say, haven't heard a binding spell like that before." She giggled at Ritsuka's groan, which could be from embarrassment and pain as well.
"Saber, my brother may need to cool down, please give me some ice packs and cold water for him to drink."
"As you say." Saber went to the fridge immediately to get said supplies while Gudako led her brother back to the couch and lay him down.
"I...didn't know that...it would be...this…"
"Painful?" Ritsuka nodded. "Well, this is your first time opening your magic circuits on force, not to mention that you just made a connection with Saber as well. Opening one's magic circuits can be quite painful and is usually done first before making a pact with a spirit. Of course, we didn't know how much Saber had left anyway so we had to make do."
Saber returned with the cold water and ice packs. Gudako poured a glass and gave it to Ritsuka while Saber placed ice packs on his head and underneath his shirt as well.
The girls sat a few feet away from Ritsuka. He seemed to be getting a little better but most likely would take until tomorrow before he could fully recover. Gudako made that known to him. "Rits, perhaps we should save this discussion for tomorrow. We have secured Saber's connection and that's the most important part. We can go over the rest of the details tomorrow. Is that ok?"
Ritsuka would like nothing more than to reject and ask her to explain everything to him anyway, but he can feel his head getting fuzzy from the pain, heat and exhaustion that is just now creeping in to him. He is quite sure that any information he gets now may not be retained in his memory so he begrudgingly nods to his sister's request.
"Cool!" She clapped her hands together before getting up. "I'm gonna clean the table and return to my room now. I need to start making notes on what to teach you now that you are part of the supernatural world now. You're gonna need it. Saber, please watch over him."
Saber nodded at his sister's request as she left the living room. Saber then stares at Ritsuka, without any emotion on her expression. Something that Ritsuka finds very uncomfortable. So he strikes up small talk.
"So uhh Saber. Don't you ghosts need rest?"
""Servant'' would be the correct term for what we are Master. And no, servants don't need rest. I can keep watch for the night."
Ritsuka felt weird being called Master. It felt like it was insulting to the knight that sworn herself to fight in this Holy Grail War thing they have going on. "Umm, Saber. You don't have to call me Master, it feels weird. Please call me Ritsuka."
"I shall call you that when we are in private, but I will call you Master in public for the sake of protecting your identity." Saber stated.
Ritsuka accepted the compromise. He starts to get up from his couch but Saber rushes towards him. "Ritsuka, you should stay here and get your rest. You shouldn't be moving at all."
"But I wanna sleep in my room, not on this couch." Ritsuka complained before having an idea. "Hey, can you help me get to my bed? It's right across from my sister's room."
Saber accepts the request as she proceeds to carry her master through a princess hold.
Ritsuka couldn't help but be completely embarrassed and shocked at the same time. He shrieked out. "Saber! What are you doing?!"
Saber tilts her head in confusion. "I am following your request master. I will carry you to your room. Is there a problem with my method?"
'Yes! Yes there are many problems with this!' But it's no use arguing about it as Saber already carried him to his room and laid him down on his bed.
Ritsuka just turned away from Saber to hide his embarrassment and shame of being carried by a girl like that. He just couldn't handle it any more craziness in his life right now. He just needs to process this information for tomorrow.
"Th-thank you, Saber. And good night Saber."
"Good Night Master. Have a peaceful rest."
Those were the last words he heard from his servant before darkness took him.
'Hmmm…i should probably start arranging my room soon… it's getting quite messy.' Gudako thought to herself as she continued to rummage through her things to find her old notes of magecraft. So far though she had no luck as all of her magecraft gear was mixed in with her normal everyday things.
She didn't expect to be attending a 200-year-old ritual anyway, it wasn't her fault that she came unprepared. Besides, she only kept these things just in case she was forced to deal with the supernatural side of things, not involving herself and her brother to a deathmatch that hasn't yielded any results for over 200 years.
'This is so dumb! We should be just relaxing here and enjoying our vacation here! Stupid war, stupid grail, stupid wish, stupid brother, stupid saber, stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid.' Gudako continued on that train of thought until she managed to perk up as she found what she was looking for!
"Ah-hah! There you stupid guidebook! With this easy-to-understand guide for magecraft, my Rits is gonna be a great magus in no time!" She pumped her fist up in excitement before her good mood was ruined by the fact that her room became even more of a bigger mess due to her carelessness and tardiness.
She groaned in agony. She never liked cleaning at all and her brother would usually be the one who would clean the room for her. But now that he is currently resting in his bedroom…she should at least try to clean her room for once.
It took a while, about twenty minutes or so before the room was cleared out. Although there are still some messy things here and there, the room is at least presentable so it should be fine! She will just let her brother tidy it up when he is fully recovered.
She sighed before looking over to her closet and opening it up. Inside of the closet were her normal clothes that she would wear for daily use. But unknown to her brother, there is a hidden knob behind her clothes that she only knows. Opening said knob revealed more clothes but this time stent just normal clothes. These clothes are Mystic Codes that her parents had made for her.
The Fujimaru clan are very new in the world of Magi, their parents being the first generation of their lineage. Gudako and her brother, being the second, so their collective history is basically non-existent. Furthermore, their specialization is very different from the other types of magic as they specialize in creating Mystic Codes for those who are incapable of using magecraft or for normal folk.
So it's impossible for their parents, herself and her brother to learn any type of magecraft besides the three basic spells, but they can create mystic codes, specifically clothes to replicate magecraft of other families or even enhance their own spells.
Like the Gandr that she shot at her brother. Despite being not of the Tohsaka or the Edelfelt, she was still able to perform the spell due to the Mystic Code she was wearing.
Gudako herself also created a Mystic Code, although it's still in it's beta phase where it would replicate the difficult technique known as Mana Burst. The superior version of Reinforcement.
The only issue with these Mystic Codes is that the spells that are woven into the Mystic Codes take time to recharge. Her Gandr spell she casted takes about 12 minutes to gather up the necessary mana from the atmosphere before said spell could be fired again. And certain Mystic Codes still require the magus's input of magical energy to activate certain spells.
She could in theory, use Gandr as long as she wears the Mystic Codes and uses her own magical energy to compensate instead of the Mystic Codes's own magical energy supply but that is something she hasn't really tested yet. Mainly because she doesn't focus on her magecraft as much anymore, rather to prefer to just live a normal, albeit a bit crazy lifestyle with her brother than be stuck, creating Mystic Codes for the sake of her lineage.
The only reason why she even became the next heir of the Fujimaru clan is for the sole reason of making sure that her brother can live a normal life as much as possible. But, she supposed that she couldn't avoid this cruel fate of dragging her brother into the moon-lit world.
Still, even if that is the case, she would do everything in her power to make sure her brother makes it out in this war, with or without his servant. And she will be damned if she will be stopped by anyone.
"Now where did I put that Mystic Code?"
It is time to bring out an old Mystic Code, one that creates clumps of Magical Energy that can be used for almost anything. Except for granting wishes of course. Cause if that was the case, she would rather be in Hawaii instead than in Japan.
Or that was something she was planning to do if it wasn't for the sudden explosion that occurred right in her bedroom, knocking her against the wall behind her.
As her mind was succumbing to unconsciousness, she was able to get a glimpse of Saber and her brother, coming into the room before feeling herself being lifted up and getting hit at the back, her mind no more.

A/N: It's been a while, hasn't it for this story?
For those who have seen my uh…message at the old Ch3, First of all, I may have jumped the gun with Parcasious and I apologise for that. Guess I got butt hurt because of people reviews hating or disliking this story due to the inclusion of the Self-Insert Ritsuka. I should have handled that better.
People have the right to leave the story whenever they wish and I was a bit immature in that regard for that, I apologise. But I will stand by that Ritsuka for me would be the best option cause I have too much respect for the other potential characters that I might write them wrong or make them too OOC. So this is the path I will walk in.
Now for those who are new here to the story, welcome, I hope you have enjoyed this story so far. The message above was for those who have read my previous note cause it would be deleted after posting this story. Long story short, I had several characters who I could choose from as the master of Saber and I decided to use Ritsuka instead due to the fact that I won't be able to write their character well enough.
So yeah…thats about it for this AN, if you enjoyed this story, leave a follow, favorite and review, it would mean a lot to me. Anyway, Xian you later, Chow!
