The Space Princess and the Green Lantern

Chapter 4: Not alone

After defeating the Manhunter invasion, Dimitri, Mandie, Bellatrix, and Charon return to Earth to repair the princess' ship. They have just entered the planet's atmosphere.

"I can't believe that we have done it! I mean we fight off an invasion and even blow up the enemy ship! This is so great!" Charon said with excitement.

"Yes, but how did they find us?" Bellatrix asks in confusion.

"By the way, Dimitri, what are the Manhunters?" Mandie asks.

"The Manhunters are machines built for destruction. They were created by the Guardians long ago. As forerunners of the Green Lantern Corps, we thought they were the perfect police force, but we were wrong." Dimitri explained.

"What do you mean?" Mandie asks.

Just as they reach the surface, Dimitri looks before his eyes widen. Near the surrounding the crater are Russian military personnel.

"Oh no." He muttered.

"Who are they?" Charon asks.

"Follow me. We can't be seen!" Dimitri said.

The four safely land away from the investigation area. In the area, a platoon of Russian soldiers investigate the crater.

"What is the name of Mother Russia that would have caused this?" One soldier asked as looking around the crater.

"Vladimir, look at this!" Another soldier said to Vladimir.

Vladimir moves from the crate to see some of his comrades carrying pieces of the Manhunters that were destroyed in the battle.

"By God. Look at this."

One of them shows the head of one of them.

"What is this?"

Another soldier manages to pick up one of the cannons in awe.

"Look at this blaster."

He accidentally pulls the trigger and the cannon fires at a tree near Dimitri, Mandie, Charon, and Bellatrix, forcing them to duck down.

"Oh shit." Mandie said.

"Let's go get your ship and get out of here!" Dimitri said. He leads the three alien girls away from the site towards the lake where the ship crash-landed. They see the diamond-shaped ship at the bottom of the lake.

"There's the ship, but how are we gonna get it out?" Mandie asks.

"Leave it to me." Dimitri said as he flies over the lake before diving in. He swims towards the ship before he uses his ring to grab the entire ship.

From the surface, Mandie, Charon, and Bellatrix wait until they see Dimitri emerge with the princess' ship. He then places it near the girls.

"Thanks, Dimitri. Now let's get to work." Mandie said.

With that, the four get to work on repairing the ship. Dimitri manages to get all of the water out of the ship as the alien girls repair the damaged controls. Charon meanwhile, fixes upon the communication.

"Try to send a message to mom and pop. Tell them, the princess is coming home." Mandie said to Charon.

"Right." The blue hair girl replied.

Dimitri helps Mandie as she cleans up her personal quarters which is a nice bedroom. He helped clean up the mess when the ship crashed.

"So, Dimitri, why did the Manhunters attack us?" She asks.

"For a while, we thought the Manhunters were the perfect Police Force for the galaxy. They were never swayed by emotion. Only right or wrong. Their inability to understand and interact with other beings ended in tragedy. The Manhunters destroyed people, planets, and even sectors forming the Forgotten Zone. My superiors, the Guardians were responsible for this heinous act." The young Russian replied.

Mandie stares at him with a bit of slight grim. What Dimitri said is true. The Guardians created these machines until they went rogue and cause carnage.

"So, they attack us because of our emotions?" She asks.

"Yes. Any emotion and the Manhunters declared them evil." Dimitri replied.

"Mandie, we got the radio fully operated and we received a signal!"

Dimitri and Mandie leave the room towards the bridge of the ship. The princess reaches to the communication device.

"Mandie! This is Lt. Haynous! We have not received any transmission from you! Please respond!"

"Lt. Haynous. Not to worry. Bellatrix and Charon broke me out but we ran into trouble. We have a new enemy. Tell mother and father that her daughter is coming home!" Mandie said to the Lieutenant.

"You escaped?! Your parents would be disappointed." Haynous said.

"JUST RETURN HOME! I WILL BE RIGHT THERE!" Mandie screamed with her hair burst into flames.

"Y-yes, your majesty." Haynous said before ending the communication.

"Mandie, the ship is repaired. We are ready to depart." Bellatrix informed.

"Good. Let's grab our things so we can get out of here." Mandie said.

The three alien girls head back to the base to pick up their belongings without being seen. Once they return, they make their final preparations.

"Are you ready, Dimitri?" Mandie asks him.

"Let's go, princess." Dimitri replied.

Mandie fires up the engines. However the noise of the engines attracted Russian soldiers. Bellatrix sees them approaching.

"What is that?!"

"An UFO?!"

"Hurry, Mandie!" Bellatrix shouted.

"Hold on to your butts, girls!" Mandie shouted as she punches it.

The Diamond Ship quickly takes off as the soldiers stop to see the ship speed off into the sky. The ship leaves Earth and heads off towards space. Not far, a lone Manhunter who somehow survived the counter attack sends out a signal to other Manhunters. Soon two more warships appear and they follow the Diamond ship.
