Two days later, the Starfox team are preparing to head to the planet Venom in order to carry out General Peppers orders. As Fox sits on an ammo crate near his airwing, he tries his hardest to wrap his head around what Vera told him back in the interrogation room days ago. "We're all set, Slippy also got done installin' that thingamajig that saved our butts back when we first ran into the Turric" Peppy says as he walks up to him. "Got it...hopefully we get closer to catching who's the source for all this" Fox responds.
"First, I'm fixin' to find out what's up with you..Ya been lookin like you're buried in Yer own thoughts for a good while now.." Peppy says, Fox gets up and grabs his jacket that's resting on another crate and puts it on. "Its nothing, just...that Turric girl. Ever since she told me all this is happening because of some quarrel someone has with my father...it hasnt skipped my mind for a second. Not only that, the name she said..Adryal Strauss?" Fox says as he looks down shakes his head in confusment.
"Now I wouldn't think too much about it, I mean she's workin' for the other side Fox. If anything, shes probably lying out of her teeth..gettin' us to lower our guard do god knows what.." Peppy says, "I thought that at first, but looking back on how she explained it...I'm not so sure anymore. Are you sure you don't remember anyone by the name Adryal Strauss?" Fox asks.
"Fox, I've been flyin with your father for years..neither me nor him ever came across someone by that name. I'm tellin ya, that girl is just tryna throw you off...now cmon; let's get this mission over with" Peppy says as he Pat's Fox's shoulder and walks out of the hanger to get the rest of the team. Even with all that Peppy said, Fox still has the faintest feeling that Vera may have been telling the truth. He then takes a deep breath and proceeds to drown it out to focus on the mission at hand.
A day earlier on Corneria, Solomon is resting in a room three floors above the room he and Marcel had a conversation in. As he slowly wakes up, he peeks through the window blinds to see if any CDF officers are around. He then closes the blinds and lays back down, closing his eyes and wondering what was his next move. An hour later, Solomon is in Marcel's personal garage alongside him; looking at a fairly damaged vehicle.
"Well, it's a peice of shit..but good enough to get to where you're goin.." Marcel says, "That's all I need from it, what about the info?" Solomon asks. Marcel hands him a data pad as he smokes his cigarette, "Nothin on the guy you're tryna ice, but we were able to find out that the CDF is heading to Venom to fuck with that group you were talkin' about yesterday" Marcel responds.
"How the hell were you able to find that out?" Solomon questions, "You'd be surprised how many of your CDF buddies visit the club downtown, a couple of drinks a good show from one of the dancers will have em singin' all night.." Marcel says. As Solomon shakes his head gets in the car, Marcel puts his cigarette out continues to speak. "Anyways, you drive up through Zone Five like I said. There'll be a ship waitin for ya, and before you ask; yes it's in a way better condition than the car.." Marcel says.
"Heh, well that's one less thing to worry about. Thanks again Marcel.." Solomon says, "Ain't nothin changed Sol, family helps family like always" Marcel responds. He then opens the garage door then proceeds to move out of Solomon's way, "Now cmon, bounce from here before anyone notices" he says. Solomon nods and drives the car out of the garage and onto the street.
About a half an hour passes, Solomon is almost at the location where the ship is waiting for him. The car radio then proceeds to grab his attention, "The ex CDF operative that goes by the name of "Solomon Yovick" is still at large. General pepper has chosen not to comment much on the situation and only said quote, "it'll only be a matter of time.."" the voice on the radio says. Solomon then turns off the radio and speeds the car up.
Back to present day, Lithra along with nearly an army of Turric soilders are currently on planet venom. Some soilders are in the process of prepping the weapon, while others patrol the skies incase of any CDF activity. As Lithra survey's the landscape at one of the control tower's, Kyru walks up behind her. "Enjoying your little sight seeing session?" She says playfully, "You were told to patrol the air with the others.." Lithra says in a cold tone.
"The geyser that strucked my ship on the way here did more damage than I thought, so until I get it fixed; I'm stuck down here with the rest of Adryal's replaceables" kyru says before giving Lithra a smug look, Lithra then turns to her and gives her an angry expression. "Then why dont you make yourself useful and-" Lithra says before being cut off by a loud alarm in the general area, she then turns over to look up at the sky to see a few dozen ships approaching. "There you mother fuckers are.." Lithra says as she runs out of the control room, Kyru follows her shortly after while looking back to get another look at the invaders.
As the Starfox team approach the turrics base of operations, the first thing they notice is the incredibly large gauss Canon in the center. "Jesus, look at the size of that thing.." Peppy says in awe, "How on earth are we gonna destroy that?" Slippy asks worryingly. "We'll find a way, look for any weak points keep your head on a swivel. Their weapon wont get a chance to fire a single shot!" Fox says assertively. "No pressure, but we need to get this done fast; dont got much fuel to burn..." Peppy says, "Would've had plenty if pepper didn't call us in for some weird ass last minute mission.." Falco responds.
Krystal then looks to her right and sees a large number of Turric ships, "two o'clock sharp fox!" She warns. As Fox looks to his right, a group of CDF pilots speeds over his ship to take the turric squadron head on. Before he could act, General Pepper pops up on his cockpit screen. "My men will take care of as many as they can, just be sure that weapon is disabled fox!" He says, "You got it General, That weapon is as good as gone!" Fox responds. He then proceeds to order his team to spread out, shortly after they do; General Pepper contacts Peppy through his screen. "Peppy, if he's there...eliminate him" he says, Peppy stays silent for a bit before giving a response. "...Copy that" he says in a low tone.
Meanwhile on Corneria, Nathan is in his personal home in a fairly decent part of the city. As he sits on the couch, he thinks about all that happened in just a few days; with the new information Risso told him about Kitman being the most prominent. Shortly after he leans back and takes a deep breath, he gets a knock on his door. He gets up and opens it to see kitman in casual attire while holding up a blue bag, "I bought food, and in case you got a little home sick i still got some rations from our sector" She says as she invites herself in.
Nathan scoffs and shakes his head before closing the door, "Very funny, ya know..for how much you complained back at base about not having real food; that doesn't seem like alot" he says playfully. "Pfft, you're crazy if you think I didn't pig the hell out before we gotta go back; Especially knowin' our next mission is gonna be on dinosaur plant of all places.." kitman responds, she sets the bag on the table proceeds to open it while she continues to speak.
"Oh and uh..sorry again about the text to cut our meet-up short a couple of days ago, ended up being more occupied than I thought" she says, struggling to open the bag. "Ah cmon kit I told you it's all good, can't do much about being busy" Nathan responds, "So what did you end up doin that day without me hm?" Kitman asks as she looks over her shoulder for a split second. "Nothin' eventful...until the conversation I had with Risso" Nathan says as he looks directly at Kitman.
"Really? That's weird..Corneria's the last place he'd be after a big payout, he didn't try to get you into doing some dumb shit did he?" Kitman asks, Nathan hesitates to speak for a moment on the account of not knowing if he should tell the truth. "...He told me about you the orphanage.." Nathan says. Kitman stops trying to open the bag and pauses for a moment, "...what did he tell you?" She says in a cold tone.
"Everything you didn't want him too I'm sure.." Nathan responds, kitman says nothing; making Nathan break the silence. "Look kitman, even though I know what happened it doesn't mean-" he says before kitman cuts him off, "You weren't supposed to know anything at all Nathan!" She says in an annoyed tone as she turns to him. "All I asked was why he took you from your caretakers, I didn't expect him to tell me all the shit he did. What was the reason to even lie anyway? From what Risso said, they made your life a living hell so you snapped took the only out you had. Why be guilty of taking your life back?" Nathan questions.
Kitman walks past Nathan to grab her jacket on the couch, she then walks to the front door and turns to him. "..Because the people responsible for what I went through weren't the only lives I took in that place..." kitman says. she then opens the door, Nathan is speechless on the account of knowing what she meant. "Enjoy the food Nate.." kitman says as she leaves the apartment shuts the door. Nathan sits back on the couch, feeling the upmost regret for ever mentioning what Risso told him.
Meanwhile on planet venom, the CDF as well as the Starfox team are still in heavy conflict with Turric forces. "Slippy! You gotta give me something, we can't dance with these guys all day!" Fox says as he avoids enemy fire from two turric ships, "I-I'm trying I'm trying! No weak points are showing up on the scanner no matter how close I get!" Slippy responds.
Slippy hears fast beeping from another screen, he looks at it and sees two enemy ships on his tail. He fumbles a tad bit to activate the ships EMP system, the moment it does; the two turric ships become suspended in the air long enough for Falco to eliminate them both. "Surely the damn thing ain't impenetrable! At this rate we'll-" Falco says before the sound of loud machinery winding up gets his attention.
He looks over to the large gauss Canon and notice four panels open up from each side while short burst's of electricity emit all around it, "Holy shit..you're all seein this right?" he says. "Son of a bitch, we're outta time!" Peppy yells in frustration, "Wait hold on! The scanners picking up something!" Slippy says. Shortly after, the scanner shows that the eight exposed cylinders from each panel are it's major weakpoints. "There! The energy coils on the side of the weapon, we have to destroy those!" Slippy says.
"Got it! Everyone push for the coils, we cannot let that weapon fire!" Fox responds. Meanwhile on ground, Lithra signals a few infantry soilders to man the shielded turrets in order to defend the guass cannon. "Any CDF ship that gets close to to that weapon, you tear them apart. Do NOT shoot down the starfox team!" She yells, before one of the soilders can fully sit down; Kyru grabs them by the shoulder and shoves them off in order to use the mounted gun herself.
The Starfox team starts to focus on the gauss cannons weakpoints alongside a few CDF pilots, it doesn't take long before the Turric open fire at any ship that got near. Kyru however, did not fire a single shot. Instead, she carefully observed each individual member of the Starfox team from their evasive maneuvers; to their offense tactics. Meanwhile in the sky, Falco attempts to shoot at one of the coils. He proceeds to damage it until it explodes while avoiding the hurl of plasma fire from the turrets, "Gotta be quicker than that assholes!" He yells.
Fox focuses on a different coil, he lines himself up and proceeds to fire. As the turrets focuse fire on him, he barrel rolls through the array of plasma rounds while still shooting at the coil; eventually blowing it up. "Good job you guys! That's two down!" Slippy says, "There's four left, I'm going for the left side!" Krystal says. Fox responds quickly after, "I'll go with you handle the right side again!" He says. "If we destroy two more, the cannon should be disabled!" Slippy says, "Even then, we're not leaving till they're all out of commission!" Fox responds.
As both Krystal and Fox hone in on the cannon, Kyru looks at them both fly closer by the second; She then proceeds to smile grip the turrets firing handle firmly. Meanwhile, Fox notices the lack of defensive fire from the mounted guns.
"Huh? Normally they'd be shooting at us right now.." Fox says to himself, " Do it Now.." Kyru says while holding her ear peice. Shortly after, Fox hears loud beeping from his radar; showing two turric ships behind both Krystal and him.
"Krystal!" Fox warns, "I know!" She responds. The two ships fire at the both of them, causing them to evade in different directions. Before Krystal can evade fully, a hail of plasma fire from below damages her ship greatly; tearing apart its right Wing completely. "N-NO! KRYSTAL!" Fox shouts, Krystal's Airwing proceeds to spiral downward past the turrics base. Meanwhile, Kyru hops off the smoking plasma turret and walks backwards to admire her work. Lithra however, looks in absolute shock to what she's seeing.
"Oh no..." Peppy says to himself, shortly after; he hears aggressive beeping comming from his cockpit controls. He looks down near his scanner and notices that his fuel count is dangerously low, "Our fuel count is almost depleted, we have to get back now!" Slippy says. Fox proceeds to shoot at the turrets out of sheer anger even though he's well aware the energy sheild will deflect every hit, the turrets then shoot around him; causing him to evade once more.
"We're not leaving without Krystal!" Fox says angrily, "None of us are gonna leave here if we end up running out of fuel genius!" Falco responds. "We'll come back for her Fox, you know that.." Peppy says, Fox looks at the black smoke from where Krystal crash landed; he then grunts frustratingly while turning his ship around to retreat to the great fox. During this time, Lithra runs up to Kyru as she gets on a hover bike. "Are you fucking insane!? I said not to shoot down any of the starfox team!" Lithra says in a mixture of an angry and fearful tone.
Kyru looks away scoffs before looking back at Lithra, "Relax, the one I shot down wasn't Mccloud..so you can ease your mind about what Adryal would do to you" She says. "How..how did you-" Lithra responds before getting cut off, "Although, seeing as how I could've willingly put you in that position; take this moment to realize...you should probably stay on my good side" kyru says in a cold tone.
As Lithra looks at here without saying a word, She turns on the hover bike and looks back at her with a smile. "Now if you don't mind, I think I'll pick up my reward.." Kyru says. She then accelerates her bike to the crash site, leaving Lithra to realize that the CDF and the Starfox team aren't the only thing she has to deal with.
