Yuto had just finished his duel against Hokuto and immediately after he got a message on his duel disk from an unknown source. He was currently walking down the empty halls where the message told him to go. He was assuming this was going to be Shun that sent him the message so he knew he had to go.
As he walked he heard footsteps behind him and turned around. "Who's there?!"
"Xyz remnant. It is time to meet your fate!" One of the two cloacked figures spoke.
'Academia!' He thought to himself. "If it's a duel you want then I'll duel!"
The cloacked figure that spoke threw her cloak to the side revealing a girl with purple hair and blue bangs and green eyes. She had a large yellow bow and a bracelet with a purple gem in it. But there was something about her face...
'She has the same face as Yuzu and Ruri, and I know neither of them would every be with Academia...so she must be the fusion counterpart!' Yuto thought to himself.
"Wait just a moment. I'll be the one to duel." A man with a red scarf, glasses, silver and grey hair and a dark blue shirt appeared behind Yuto.
"You are...Reiji Akaba." Yuto gasped seeing the man.
"It's time we finally meet, Yuto. Your comrade speaks highly of you and your ability to Pendulum Summon is going to be good for future battles. Anyways I will be taking this duel." Reiji said walking infront of the teen.
"Wait this is my battle! They took my home away! I'm the one that will defeat them!" Yuto exclaimed stepping forward next to Reiji.
"I don't care! I'll defeat both of you!" Serena said with full confidence.
"Serena. I'll be joining you as well!" The bigger figure threw aside his cloak and he revealed to be a bulky man with blue hair and a scar on one of his eyes and a eye patch over it.
"Barrett! I can beat them on my own!" Serena shouted at the man.
"The professor ordered me to protect you and I'll carry out that order." Barrett told the girl.
"The professor meaning Leo Akaba, correct?" Reiji said as the two looked shocked that he knew the name. "As I thought."
Reiji places his duel disk on his arm before tapping a button on his duel disk. "Seal of this area until is I say otherwise."
"Fine, just don't get in my way!" Serena shouted as both of them activated their blue and orange sword blades repsectively.
"You don't have to risk your life for me! These people are dangerous and if you lose I'm pretty sure you know what will happen." Yuto told the older teen who looked at him and then he smirked.
"Please." Reiji said turning to his opponent activating her red blade on his duel disk. Yuto sighed as he activated his own purple blade. "This will be a Battle Royale duel."
"Fine with us!" Barrett said.
"DUEL!"
REIJI: 4000 vs YUTO: 4000 vs BARRET: 4000 vs SERENA: 4000
"First strike takes the advantave! I'm going first! I activate the Continous spell Beastborg Fusioner! Once per turn I can Fusion Summon a Beastborg fusion monster." Barrett explained holding two cards up in his hand.
"As I expected..." Reiji said with glaring at the card.
"I fuse my Panther Warrior and Dark Sentinal! Ferocious black panther and guardian of sacred darkness, merge as one and let forth your valiant roar! Fusion Summon! Come forth! Level 6! Beastborg Panther Predator!" Barrett shouted summoning cyborg panther warrior.
Beastborg Panther Predator (1600/2000) LVL:6
Yuto grunted looking at the fusion monster. Reiji looked at the boy and noticed his anger.
"I activate the effect of Beastborg Panther Predator! It deals damage equal to half of it's attack! I'll start with you for your interruption!" Barrett pointed at Reiji as his monster shot a red blast at the duelist.
REIJI: 4000-3200 LP
Reiji just pushed up his glasses unphazed by the attack.
"I set two cards face down, turn end." Barrett said concluding his turn.
"A by the books strategy." Serena commented on hue teammates play style.
"Sir, your opponent's are definitely from the fusion dimension." A voice from Reiji duel disk spoke to him.
"I know." Reiji said looking at Yuto before who nodded back to him. "My turn! I activate the Continous Spell Dark Contract with the Swamp King! Now during each of my standby phases I take 1000 points of damage."
"Oh? Damaging yourself?" Barret said with a confused expression.
"But in exchange, I can perform a Fusion Summon using cards in my hand or on my field for a fiend-type fusion monster. I Fuse D/D Lilith and D/D Cerberus." Reiji said holding up two cards. One of which were a Pendulum monster.
'So what Yuya said was true, he does have Pendulum Cards...and he's using Fusion against Academia?!' Yuto thought to himself.
"Seductress of the the dark night, in a whirl pool of light from the realm of the dead, become one and give birth to the new king! Fusion Summon! Be Born! Level 6! D/D/D Flame King Temujin!" Reiji chanted as the warrior with a long red sword and shield appeared.

"A Fusion Summon, huh." Serena said.
"Players cannot Attack during their first turn in a battle royals so I end my turn." Reiji said concluding his turn.
"My turn. Draw! I summon Moonlight Blue Cat!" Serena said as she summoned a blue cat humanoid monster with a mask over her left eye.

"I set a card face down and end my turn. Show me what you can do Xyz remnant." Serena said looking at the Phantom Knight User.
The boy had a stone cold look on his face as he stared at the two Academia duel soldiers. "My turn. I summon Phantom Knights Cloaked Shadow. And when I control a Phantom Knights monster I can summon Phantom Knights Silent Boots. I overlay the Level 3 Cloaked Shadow and Silent Boots! Soul of the Knights who fall on the battlefield. Now revive, become the light that rend the darkness! Xyz Summon! Come forth! Rank 3! Phantom Knights Break Sword!"
Phantom Knights Break Sword (2000/1000) RNK:3 OVU:2
"As expected." Barrett said as he gazed upon the phantom warrior.
"Turn end." Yuto said keeping up his serious expression.
"My turn! I activate the Equip Spell Beastly Blade! I can equip this card to a Beastborg monster and it gains 600 attack and can attack in a row but it can't attack directly." Barrett said as his monster grabbed the larger curvy sword with its free hand.
Panther Predator (1600/2000)-(2200-2000)
"Now I play the Continous Trap Beastborg Medal of the White Blade! Now Panther Predator's effect. You take half of its attack as damage! This time, you'll take the damage, Xyz Remnant!" Barrett said pointing at the teen who put his arm up guarding him as he got hit by the blast.
YUTO: 4000-2900 LP
"Next, I activate the effect of Beast Borg Medal of the White Blade! Now this card gains a medal counter for every 100 points of damage you just received which means 11 counters. And then I send it to the grave for my monster to gain attack equal to the amount of counters times 100!" Barrett said as his monster powered up once again.
Panther Predator (2200/2000)-(3300/2000)
"Using damage you inflict to boost your monster's attack..." Yuto said commenting on the strategy.
"Battle! Panther Predator Attack Temujin and Break Sword! Industrial Savage!" Barrett commanded his monster as it tore through both of the monsters with it's blades.
REIJI: 3200-2100 LP
YUTO: 2900-1800 LP
"Turn End. As a Warrior of Academia, I will fight with all of my honor to defeat those who stand against Academia and the Professor." Barrett said which made both of his opponents mad but for different reasons. One being the evil Professor was his dad and the other was because of the destruction of his home. But they kept their expressions stone cold.
"My turn. During the Standby phase, I take 1000 damage due to Contract with the Swamp King's effect." Reiji said as he clenched his chest as it he was hit by purple energy.
REIJI: 2100-1100 LP
"So your spell has backfired." Barrett said as Reiji pushed his glasses up recovering from the damage.
"Through the effect of Contract with the Swamp King, I can perform a Fusion Summon using a monster in my hand and by banishing monsters in my grave." Reiji said.
"What?!" Barrett said as him and Serena were shocked at Reiji's capabilities.
"I use the D/D Lilith in my grave and and D/D Berformet in my hand! Demonic beast, be absorbed into the crucible of disaster. Be reborn into a new king! Fusion Summon! Come forth, ruler who carries the glory of God! D/D/D Oracle King d'Arc!"
D/D/D Oracle King D'Arc (2800/2000) LVL:7
"To think some one from Standard could come use that kind of Fusion Summoning." Serena said as she gazed at the monster.
"Next I active the Continous Spell Dark Contract with the Dark Sorcerer! Now during my battle phase one of my D/D monsters gains 1000 attack points when attacking a monster summoned from the extra deck once per turn." Reiji explained.
"His monster will be more powerful than Barrett's..." Serena said.
"Battle! Oracle King D'Arc Attack Predator Panther! Oracle Charge!" Reiji commanded his monster as it charged at the Beastborg monster with it's sword glowing purple.
"At this moment my monster gains 1000 attack!" Reiji said as his monster was surrounded in a dark aura.
Oracle King D'Arc (2800/2000)-(3800/2000)
Reiji's monster slashed through the opposing Fusion monster knocking Barrett back but he remained standing.
BARRETT: 4000-3500 LP
"Before the battle I activated the Continous Trap Beastborg Medal of the Iron Shield! Now I place a medal counter for every 100 points of damage I just took! I place 5!" Barrett said as the silver shield appeared and 5 medals were placed on the shield.
"I see you have quite the liking for war medals." Reiji commented.
"I am a warrior. The amount of medals I possess proves my honor! When Beastborg Panther Predator is destroyed I can summon its fusion materials! Come back, Panther Warrior and Dark Sentinal." Barrett shouted as the two monsters appeared.

"So you were prepared for your monsters destruction. I set one card face down and end my turn." Reiji concluded.
"My turn! I'll show you real Fusion Summoning! I activate the spell card Fusion! I fuse Moonlight Blue Cat on my field with the Purple Butterfly in my hand! Blue cat that prowls through the darkness! Butterfly with violet poison! Spiral into the moon's gravity and become a new power! Fusion Summon! Come to me! Beautiful beast that dances in the moonlight! Moonlight Cat Dancer!" Serena chanted as her ace monster appeared. The monster had pink hair and two different masks covering her eyes. She carried two long knives and was wearing light blue clothing.

Yuto's eyes narrowed looking upon the fusion monster.
"I activate the spell card Moonlight Perfume! I can special summon a Moonlight Monster from the grave! Come back, Blue Cat!" Serena said as her monster reappeared. "And when Blue Cat is special summoned, I can double the attack of another Moonlight monster on my field!" Serena shouted as her Cat Dancer powered up.
Cat Dancer (2400/2000)-(4800/2000)
"And Cat Dancer's effect! I can tribute my Blue Cat and she can attack every monster twice and the first time she attacks a monster it isn't destroyed!" Serena shouted.
'At this rate Reiji's gonna lose...' Yuto thought to himself thinking about how he'll have to duel these two alone.
"Battle! Destroy those Xyz remnants monsters!" Serena commanded her monster as it jumped towards the other two monsters and slashed through both of them.
"Continous Trap Activate! Dark Contract with the Witch! Now my D/D monsters gain 1000 attack during my opponents turn." Reiji said as his monster powered up again.
Oracle King D'Arc (2800/2000)-(3800/2000)
"It isn't enough! Cat Dancer attack D'Arc and end him!" Serena shouted as her monster threw both of her knives at the monster.
"I activate the other effect of my Dark Contract with the Dark Sorcerer's other effect! When a D/D monster would be destroyed and sent to the graveyard by battle, I can send this card to the grave so my monster can't be destroyed and any damage I take is halved." Reiji yelled as the monster his monster was hit by the attack.
REIJI: 1100-600
"The second attack! Lunar Eclipse! Full Moon Cresta!" She yelled as her monster charged a light blue blast while moving her hands in a circular motion and then firing the attack at the monster who tried its best to block it with it's sword.
REIJI: 600-100
Reiji was kneeling down from the shockwave his face expression didn't show any concern.
"Turn end. It's your move now Xyz remnant!" Serena said looking at Yuto. The top of his face was dark as he looked down before looking up with angry eyes.
"My turn! I activate the spell card Monster Reborn! Ressurect, Break Sword! Next I activate the spell card Rank Up Magic Phantom Knights Launch! Now I can Rank up Break Sword and summon a monster one rank higher! Fangs of pitch-black darkness! Rise up against the foolish oppression! Descend now! Rank Up Xyz Change! Come forth! Rank 4! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!" Yuto cried as his ace dragon appeared with a loud roar.

"Next I activate the effect of Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon! I use two overlay units to halve a level 5 or higher monster's attack and my dragon gains that attack! Treason Discharge!" Yuto yelled as his monster weak ended the fusion monster.
Cat Dancer (2400/2000)-(600/2000)
Dark Rebellion (2500/2000)-(4300/2000)
"What?!" Serena said in shock.
"I'm not done yet! I activate the Equip Spell Card Xyz Unit! Now it can equip to an Xyz monster and it gains attack equal to it's rank times 200!" Yuto shouted as his monster powered up once more.
Dark Rebellion (4300/2000)-(5100/2000)
"No way..." Serena said in disbelief.
"This is it for you! Battle! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon! Destroy that pitiful Fusion monster! Rebellious Lightning Disobey!" Yuto shouted as hit monster charged at the monster with its glowing purple fangs.
"As if I'd let you! Trap Activate Moonlight Intercept! I can special Summon a Moonlight Monster from the graveyard with it's effects negated in attack mode and change the target of that attack to that monster but the damage is halved! I choose Blue Cat!"

Dark Rebellion charged through the monster which caused a shockwave that knocked Serena back.
SERENA: 4000-2250 LP
"Serena! Are you ok?!" Barrett said to the girl.
"I'm fine. As if I would let a Xyz remant beat me in such a way." Serena said which made Yuto even more angry.
"Turn end." Yuto said concluding his turn. "At this moment, Dark Rebellion's effect ends."
Dark Rebellion (5100/2000)-(3300/2000)
"My turn! I now fusion Summon using the monsters on my field due to my spell to summon another Beastborg Panther Predator!" Barrett shouted as he a Fusion summoned anither copy of his monster.
Yuto looked at his teammate face seeing that their was no concern or fear in him.
"Next I activate the effect of my Beastborg Medal of the Iron Shield's effect! I destroy it and my monster gains attack equal to the amount of counters times 100!" Barrett said as his monster powered up once again.
Predator Panther (1600/2000)-(2100/2000)
"Now my monster's effect! Since you will lose from your Continous spell, I'll go for you Xyz remnant for hurting Serena! But first I'll play the spell Beastborg Energize! Now I can target a Beastborg in my grave and a Beastborg monster on my field gains attack equal to half of the monster in the grave's attack!" Barrett explained as the ghost of his first Panther Predator was absorbed into the second as it powered up.
Panther Predator (2100/2000)-(2900/2000)
"Now Panther Predator's effect! You now take damage equal to half of it's attack, Xyz remnant!" Barrett said pointing at the teen as a red blast was fired at him.
But as the blast was about to hit Reiji's monster jumped infront of the blast and grabbed it turning it into light.
REIJI: 100-1550 LP
"What the hell happend?!" Barrett shouted.
"Oracle King D'Arc can turn effect damage any player would take into life points for me." Reiji said pushing up his glasses.
"Damn you! In that case I'll play the spell card Mystical Space Typhoon! And I'll destroy your Dark Contract With the Witch!" Barrett said activating the card he drew earlier.
"Now you can't increase your monster's attack, and since you've keep interfering, I'll attack your fusion monster!" Barrett said pointing at D'Arc.
REIJI: 1550-1450
"I set once card face down and end my turn. Now you'll have to take 1000 more damage because of your Continous spell, right?"
"Correct. My turn! Due to my Card's effect, I take 1000 points of damage." Reiji said as the card's effect caused him to take damage.
REIJI: 1450-450
"You deserve a Medal of Honor." Barrett said crossing his arms.
"I do not need such things." Reiji said grabbing a card in his hand. "I activate the spell card Pot of Greed! I draw two cards! Next I play the spell Contract Reward! I now banish up to three Dark Contract cards from my graveyard and draw cards equal to the amount banished plus 1! I banish Dark Contract with the Dark Sorcerer and Witch to draw 3 cards!"
"Refilling your hand through spells..." Serena said.
Reiji then grabbed two cards out of his hand. "With the Scale 1 D/D Magical Savent Galilei and the Scale 10 D/D Magical Savent Kepler, I set the Pendulum Scale!"

"Now I can simultaneously Summon monster whose levels are in between 2 and 9! Grand power that shakes my very soul, arise within me and become a new light that rends the darkness. Pendulum Summon! Come before me, my monsters!" Reiji shouted as two dark lights appeared from the portal. "Proud Knight, D/D Proud Chevalier! Vessel of disaster, D/D Pandora!"

"Pendulum?!" Barrett exclaimed.
"So this is the new trick Standard has. Interesting." Serena commented.
"There's more. I now overlay Chevallier and Pandora!" Reiji yelled as the two monster turned into dark energy.
"No way!" Serena yelled.
"Pendulum into Xyz?!" Barrett said in shock.
"Hero of legends, with your profound justice, pierce through all things! Xyz Summon! Descend! Rank 5! D/D/D Marksman King Tell!" Reiji chanted as the monster with green hair and red and black cloathing. He had one mechanized arm with a golden armor crossbow in the shape of a dragon's head.

'Pendulum Xyz...just like me!' Yuto thought to himself.
"How many tricks do you have?" Serena
"Next is the effect of Marksman King Tell! If I have taken damage from a Dark Contract, I can use an overlay unit to decrease the attack of your monster by 1000 and deal 1000 damage to you! Piercing Arrow!" Reiji said pointing at Barrett.

"And I'll use it again! Piercing Arrow!" Reiji said pointing at Barrett once more as his monster shot two arrows at Barrett's monster and Barrett again.

"Battle! It's over for you, Warrior of Academia! Marksman King Tell attack! Forbidden Break Shot!" Reiji commanded his monster as it shot an arrow that was surrounded in a blue light towards the monster.
"Serena...forgive me for this, but I won't let you stay here alone! Trap Activate, Beastborg Medal of Honor! I destroy my Panther Predator and summon it's fusion materials! And then we all take damage equal to their combined attack!" Barrett shouted.
"T-That'll be 3500!" Yuto yelled.
"Barrett, I could've taken them out!" Serena shouted at her teammate.
"I activate the Quick Play Spell D/D Return!" Reiji calmly said. "When a monster or monsters are special summoned to my opponent's field I can special summon a D/D monster to my field from the grave but it is destroyed during the end phase. Come back, D/D/D Oracle King D'Arc!"
"T-That means..." Barrett said as the monster caught the flames from the explosion and turned it into a pink light.
REIJI: 450-14,450
"What?! 14,450 life points, that's insane!" Serena yelled.
"I fought to my best capabilities, but it wasn't enough. Sorry, Serena." Barrett said.
"The battle resumes! Go Tell! Forbidden Break Shot! And Oracle King D'Arc! Oracle Charge " Reiji commanded as his Xyz monster shot an arrow through the Sentinal monster and his fusion monster slashed through the Panther Warrior.
BARRETT: 1500-0 LP
The man landed hard and fell into unconsciousness.
"You may have beaten him but it won't be as easy to beat me." Serena said full of determination despite the fact one of her opponents had the highest life points she has ever seen.
"I see you are confident in your abilities, I end my turn and at this moment my monster is destroyed." Reiji said as D'Arc bursted.
"There is no point in continuing this duel, there is no need to fight." Reiji said to the girl.
"I will never stop fighting! I will prove my strength! Draw! I activate the spell card Fusion Sage! I recover one Fusion spell from my grave to my hand. Next I summon Moonlight White Rabbit!"

"Her effect lets me send your equip spell card back to your hand!" Serena said pointing at Yuto's card.

"Next I activate the spell card Fusion! I fuse Moonlight White Rabbit and Moonlight Cat Dancer! "The beautiful beast dancing in the moonlight! White Rabbit hopping through the fields! Swarm in the vortex of moon's gravity and become a new power! Fusion Summon! Come forth! Elegant beast dancing in the moonlit wilderness! Moonlight Panther Dancer!"

Yuto fist tightened at the sight of the fusion monster and Reiji was impressed at the girl's courage to not give up.
"Panther Dancer can attack all monsters twice and the first time they aren't destroyed! Also, she can't be destroyed by card effects! Battle! Moonlight Panther Dancer attack! Attack D/D/D Marksman King Tell!" Serena commanded her monster as it used the blades on it's hand to slash hit the monster.

"The second attack!" Serena said as her monster time charged directly at the monster and stabbed right through it.

"And when she destroys a monster she gains 200 attack!" Serena explained.

"Go the third attack! Attack Dark Rebellion!" The monster used her blades to create a purple energy slash against the dragon.

"Go the fourth attack! Full Moon Slash!" The monster charged at the Dragon and slashed both of her hands through the dragon as Yuto was blown back.

"Next I activate the quick play spell De-Fusion! I defuse my Panther Dancer to summon back Cat Dancer and White Rabbit!" Serena shouted as her monster split back into it's fusion materials.

"Battle! I'll attack you Xyz Remnant with Moonlight White Rabbit! You're finished!" She yelled as her monster jumped into the air and was getting ready to swing her hammer at Yuto.
"When I would take a direct attack, I can special summon Phantom Knight Torn Cape!" Yuto countered as the monster appeared to defend Yuto.

"In that case I'll redirect the attack to you!" She said pointing at the older teen as he was hit by the hammer but he guarded the attack with his arm.

"And then I'll attack directly with Cat Dancer! Full Moon Cresta!" She shouted as the monster fired a blue blast at Reiji.

"I like your undying spirit." Reiji said as the dust settled from the previous attack.
"I don't care what you think or like! Now since my battle phase is I've I'll play my second Polymerization! I now fuse my two monsters back into Panther Dancer!" Serena said as her monster reappeared.

"Turn end."
Yuto was looking in disbelief that he let his dragon, his ace monster, be destroyed by Academia. He couldn't save his home. He couldn't save Ruri. And now he couldn't save his dragon. The boy clenched his fist as his eyes started to faintly glow dark blue but it stopped once he took a breath and calmed down. He couldn't let anger take control. He didn't want to hurt anyone.
"My turn! I activate the spell card Rank Up Magic Phantom Knights Burial! I summon Break Sword and Rank it up 2 ranks higher!" Yuto shouted as the monster reappeared and turned into dark energy again.
"What?" Serena said.
"From the depth of purgatory, sing the song of rebellion to the restless souls! Let it echo for all eternity and appear! Rank Up Xyz Change! Come forth! Rank 5! Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon!" Yuto shouted as the evolved Dragon appeared.
Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon (3000/2500) RNK:5 OVU:2
The dragon let out a loud roar as Reiji pushed his glasses up. "I activate the spell that was sent back to my hand! The Equip spell Xyz Unit! My monster gains 200 attack times 5 meaning 1000!" The dragon let out a loud roar as it powered up.
Dark Requiem (3000/2500)-(4000/2500)
'The Trap Card I have set is Overlay Reincarnation, so I can attach Dark Rebellion to this monster as an overlay unit and it's effects won't be locked anymore and I will win but...' He then looked at Reiji who shook his head which confused Yuto. But for reason, he trusted the older teen and sighed.
"Battle! Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon Attack Moonlight Panther Dancer! Requiest Disaster Disobey!" Yuto yelled as his monster spreaded it's beautiful wings and charged at the fusion monster with's it's long glowing fang and destroyed causing an explosion that knocked Serena back.

"I end my turn." Yuto said as his dragon flew back to his side. "We don't need to fight."
"The battle is over, there is no point of continuing. Now let us talk-" Reiji said before being cut off.
"I haven't lost yet! You have 0 cards in your hand! You still need to draw a card which is strong enough to defeat me!" Serena shouted at Reiji.
"Your wrong and I'll show you why. My turn! I now take 1000 points of damage due to my continuous spell Dark Contract With the Swamp King's effect." Reiji said as he was hit with the dark energy once more.
REIJI: 10,750-9750
"But then I activate my Continous spell's effect! I banish D/D/D Flame King Temujin and D/D Pandora to Fusion Summon! The king who incenerates those who oppose him! Become one with the Proud Knight and become a dragon slaying hero! Fusion Summon! Be born! Level 8 D/D/D Cruel Dragon King Beowulf!" Reiji shouted as the wolf like warrior appeared.

"So it's didn't matter what you drew, you had another Fusion monster...I've lost." Serena said looking down. "You've shown your strength like you wanted to. Now go on, finish it."
"Real strength is knowing when to fight and when to not." Yuto interjected looking at the girl.
"That is true, we both could have ended the duel but we didn't. And there is a reason for that." Reiji said to the girl who looked even more defeated hearing that even the Xyz remnant could have won.
"And what is that reason." Serena said.
"Are you ready to listen?" Reiji said to the girl as she nodded. "Good."
DUEL TERMINATED
"So who are you anyway!" Serena questioner the older teen.
"I am Reiji Akaba. Leo Akaba's...son." Reiji said to the purple haired girl.
"I'm Yuto." The Phantom duelist said.
"Do you not remember? I met you before. At the Fusion dimension's Academia." Reiji said which suprised Yuto. "You were the duelist Akaba Leo had his eye on most there. And now you appear in our world. Did you improve your skills under Leo Akaba's guidance and get sent here as a vanguard for an invasion?"
"This has nothing to do with Leo Akaba!" She yelled back which relieved both of the teen. "I came to this world of my own will! No one's orders."
"So why-" Yuto said before getting cut off.
"I remember you as well. 3 years ago, you crossed dimensions and came to our world. As I saw many of my comrades getting there chance on the front lines, I was left to live a suffocating life in that strict castle, ever since you appeared 3 years ago!" Serena yelled pointing at Reiji.
"What is she talking about?" Yuto said to Reiji.
3 years Ago
A young Reiji just arrived in the fusion dimension. He was walking around the strange place looking for his father before he heard loud foot steps. He ran to the end of the hallway and saw their was a park like area where a girl with purple hair and red and orange clothing with white boots was cornered bellow where he was standing. There were 3 in green clothing standing infront of the girl and a man with a red and black clothing and a long cape.
"It's the Professor's orders. Please comback Serena." The man with the cape told the girl.
"I want to test my own abilities!" The girl named Serena argued back.
"The professor would never allow that." The man spoke again.
"I don't need his permission!" She shouted before activating her duel disk that had a blue sword blade. "I'm getting out of here on my own will! I won't show mercy to anyone who get's in my way!"
"You leave me no choice. Capture her." The man said stepping back as the three men behind him stepped forward as he stepped back letting them take care of the girl.
'Three of those adults against a little girl. That's no fair...' Reiji thought to himself as his eyes widened.
"I Summon Moonlight Blue Cat! I set a card face down. Turn end."
"I summon Ancient Gear Soldier from my hand!!" Each of the men shouted.
Reiji felt the shockwaves from the duel and was amazed. 'They have mass even though there isn't an action field?!'
"It's ridiculous that you guys call yourselves professors of Academia." Serena said to her opponents due to their lack of skill.
"Academia?!" Reiji said.
"Don't get ahead of yourselves. This isn't over!" The caped man shouted.
"I summon D/D Cerberus!" Reiji shouted activating his red duel disk which suprised everyone else. "Battle!"
The three headed beast ripped through the Ancient Gear monster destroying it as Reiji reached his hand down to the girl.
"Up here!" The purple haired girl jumped out and reached out her hand with a bracelet that had a purple gem inside. She was helped up by the silver haired kid and they both began running. They eventually got to the dock.
"Let me go! You're not from Academia, aren't you?! Where is your boat?!" Serena yelled at the boy.
"Boat?"
"You must have ridden a boat here, right? I'm going to get out of here to grasp my futu-"
"You future is here." A man dressed in purple interjected as soldiers with masks and blue uniforms arrived with him.
"Father!" Reiji said at the sight of his lost father.
"Serena. I know your ablities better than anyone else." The professor said to the girl ignoring Reiji.
"Then why do you keep me locked up here on this island! Why do you not use my abilities!" She shouted at the man.
"It is not the time for that now."
"Then when?! When you destroy Xyz?! Or Synchro?!" She shouted grabbing the boy next to her's attention.
"Xyz? Synchro? Destroy them?" Reiji said confused.
"Everyone's talking about how we are about to invade the Xyz dimension." Serena explained to the boy. "If you truly believe in my abilities then now is the time to use them! Add me to the troops! Let me join the advance guard!"
"I can't allow that."
"Why not?!"
"There is something you must do."
"Wait! Invading and destroying, what are you talking about?!" Reiji shouted. "What the hell is this place?! What is Academia?! You left me, mom and the company without saying anything! What are you doing, father!"
"So you traveled across dimensions to find the answer." The man said.
"Dimensions?!"
"What?!"
But then multiple soldiers dressed in blue with masks appeared behind them and grabbed the two.
"What are you doing?!" Serena shouted as two of the soldiers grabbed her by her arms and taking her away.
"Stop it!" Reiji yelled trying to reach the girl but was stopped by another soldier who grabbed his arm and covered his mouth.
"Let me go! Let me go!" She cried as the men dragged her away.
"Serena, even if you escape, I'll find you and bring you back. That's a promise. Take her away." The man commanded as the soldiers dragged her away.
"I'll have you return as well." Reiji's father told him as Reiji was brought closer towards the professor.
"Before that, answer me! Explain! What the hell is this place!" Reiji yelled at his father.
"This is the fusion dimension. Academia is my front lines base to accomplish my plan." The man answered.
"What plan?!" Reiji shouted back.
"You'll find out eventually. Bring out that." The man said to one of the soldiers.
"Yes sir!" The soldier got out a watch like device and placed it on the boys wrist.
"It has been set, sir."
"What the heck is this?!"
"It's a miniature version of the device you used cross dimensions. The gate you used has been sealed. That device will self destruct when you return to your original dimension. You will never be able to come back here. Stay put in that world!" The man said before walking off.
"I'm not done talking to you! What did you mean by advance and destroy?!" Reiji yelled at his father.
"It is to unite all of the worlds."
"Unite the worlds? What does that mean? Father?!" The soldiers let go of his as the device started glowing. "Father!" Reiji yelled as he was then teleported back to where he came from.
End of Flash Back
"These last three years I've been making preparations to crush Leo Akaba's ambitions. That's why I've also become the president of Leo Corporation in his place. I have worked towards finding and training duelists with potential. All of this is to protect this city, this land we live in. Do you not wish to join?" Reiji asked the girl.
"Join?" She said confused.
"Yes. To protect this place together from Leo Akaba and Academia."
"Don't be ridiculous! I only came here because I heard there were remants of Xyz forces here. If I can defeat you then I can prove to Leo Akaba my strength!" Serena said pointing at Yuto.
"You don't need to prove anything to someone who doesn't care!" Yuto said to the girl.
"You don't understand." Serena replied as she began walking away. "Next time I encounter you, I will defeat you."
Just then, Barrett had regained consciousness and hit a button on his duel disk. "With this, I have alerted to Academia where we are." He then disappeared in a blue light.
"Damn Barrett..." Serena said as she walked away.
"What is going to happen now?" Yuto asked the older teen.
The D/D user looked at his duel disk and saw the time was still fairly early. He then pushed a button on his duel disk which let him talk to his workers. "Hmph. We will quickly finish the first round of the tournament and go right into the top 17 starting today after the last duel. Their is 33 duelists left in the tournament so we will have to start now. Remember what we talked about for the match ups. One duelist will get a by this round since their is an uneven number. And then it will begin."
"So that means..." Yuto trailed off.
"Yes. The invasion will be coming soon so we will have to hurry the tournament. Good thing all the other divisions are caught up. This will mean your friend Yuya Sakaki will be dueling soon. Better get back." Reiji said before walking off.
"Wait! If you are serious against fighting academia, I want to join! I know this isn't just about defending Standard. You want to take out Academia as a whole and I need to get there as well!" Yuto said to the older teen which made him stop.
"I've heard the same from your comrade Shun." The older teen said walking away.
Yuto made his way back to the stands and sat next to Yugo on the end who was stuffing his face with snacks.
"Hey Yuto! What took ya so long?" Yugo asked. "The last match of the round is about to start."
"I'll tell you later." Yuto said giving him a serious look. Yugo, Yuya, and Yuzu took this as a sign that it shouldn't be mentioned around the others.
"Alright! The next duel will be the runner up from last year's junior youth division from Ryozanpaku Duel school, Kachidoki Isao! And he will be taking on the top Synchro Fuelidt of his class from LDS, Yaiba Todou!" He yelled as the two duelist walked onto the field. The duel began and everyone was watching with smiles but those smiles soon turned to faces of disbelief.
"What?! What is this?!" Yuya shouted as he witnessed Yaiba get brutally beaten over and over by Kachidoki's punches and kicks.
YAIBA: 4000-0
WINNER: KACHIDOKI
"And Kachidoki Isao has won in a won turn kill!" The announcer shouted but with barely any enthusiasm as everyone saw a stretcher be brought onto the field and Yaiba be taken off.
"A-Anyways, I've just been notified that the second round of the tournament will start right now! Duelist! Please look at your duel disks and see who you are going to be dueling next round!" All the duelist looked down out their duel disks seeing if their opponents.
"I'm in the last match of the day against Suprise Duel School's Yuzo Tanegashima." Gongenzaka said to the others.
"I'm in the second to last match of the day against Duelie Club's Mikiyo Naname." Yuzu replied.
"I'm in the third match against Kai Kurumi from the Knights of duels." Yuto spoke.
Yugo was about to say who was on his due disk but his eyes widened when he saw the image of Kachidoki on Yuya's screen. "Kachidoki?! You're dueling that jerk?! And right now?!"
"No way!" The kids shouted.
"Yuya..." Yuzu said in concern.
Yuya looked at his duel disk without saying a word but then he felt a hand placed on his shoulder. It was Yuto.
"Yuya, if everyone can make him smile it's you. You got this." Yuto encouragingly said to the boy who smiled back.
"Right! I'll make everyone smile through my dueling!" Yuya said with courage looking at the boy who got into a lock down stare with his opponent across the field.
No card section because I don't think there needs to be one this chapter since there was only like 5 cards and they are spells and traps with no additional effects and may never be used again.
Hey Guys! This chapter didn't actually take that long to right! I did have a lot of fun writing the different decks especially Barrett's and Serena's. I hope this duel met your expectations and I hope you guys liked Reiji's epic save. I didn't want to use cards that weren't used in the duel by Reiji minus the ending where he summoned Beowulf. And this happend earlier than in the anime but I wanted it Yuto to be involved and then seeing his duel with Hokuto made sense and I went with it. And this means Hokuto is alive in case I want to add him in later. But I don't know. And Yuto probably/maybe won't duel for a little bit since he has dueled in every chapter and is only one of the main characters. ALSO, I intentionally didn't say Yugo's opponent because I want you guys to decide! Their will be 17 people in the battle royale. So by including Yugo and Yuto, one of the original 16 have to be cut.
