"Why not...let him be the one to face the king...?" Roget said, pointing in the direction of the Lancers.
The one he was pointing at was...
"M-Me?!" Yugo shouted in shock.
"Yes. This boy...Yugo...is allied with the Lancers and he also is from Neo Domino City. He represents both the Lancers and our dimension. He is the perfect representative to face the king." Roget explained.
"Do you approve us this, Chairman?" Bordeaux asked.
"Yes, I do. Are you up for this young man?" White Taki asked.
"S-So I get to face the king..." Yugo said in disbelief.
"What happens if Yugo wins?" Yuya asked.
"It's simple. He will become King." White Taki explained.
"M-Me...King..." Yugo uttered in happiness and shock. He couldn't believe this was happening. He was going to face the king! And if he managed to win, he would be at the very top. And once he saved Rin, they would be at the top together. This was their dream. This is what they worked for.
"So, will you duel the ki-"
"Yes! Yes I will!" Yugo enthusiastically shouted.
"Someone sure is excited..." Sawatari said.
"I'll have my officers fetch your D-Wheel from where you were arrested." Roget told him.
Before being the boy was escorted out, Yuya and Yuto ran over to Yugo.
"Good luck, Yugo! Make sure to defeat that guy!" Yuya said.
"Yeah! Take him out so we can move on to Academia." Yuto said
"Don't worry guys, I'll definitely win!" Yugo said with a determined look before being escorted away.
Later
"Ladies and Gentlemanof the Tops and Commons! I, Melissa Claire, welcome you all to the Friendship CupExhibition match! Remember, we are all friends! Now,are you all ready to see the King duel?!" Melissa Claire asked the crowd.
"YEAH!" The crowd shouted.
Yugo was in the tunnel while adjusting his D-Wheel. After hitting a few buttons on a computer that was hooked up to his D-Wheel, he unplugged the computer and put his helmet
"I can't believe we are about to do this." Yugo said as he sat on his D-Wheel. He looked at his Clear Wing Synchro Dragon which was in his hand and smiled. "Let's do this, partner! Lets show them all the strength we gained while in the Standard Dimension! Let's make Rin proud!"
Yugo put the card back into his extra deck slot before driving towards the entrance of the tunnel.
"Our challenger is a boy from the commons who ended up traveling across dimensions! Now, he has returned and has managed to even beat the mighty DC 227! Everyone, please give it up for Yugo!" Melissa shouted as Yugo raced out of the tunnel on his white D-Wheel.
"Oh yeah! That was an awesome duel!"
"Yeah! He's pretty good!"
"Yugo! Yugo! Yugo!"
"Now this is what everyone has been waiting for! The Kong's entrance! Although his journey started in the commons, he stormed up the road of success like a rising dragon! The living legend who rose to the submit of dueling!" Melissa shouted as a large holographic king card from solitary appeared on the stage.
"Here it comes...!" Yugo anticipated out of pure excitement.
"Now let me introduce him! Our duel king, JACK ATLAS!" Melissa screamed as the King rode out onto the track.
The king was a tall man with blonde hair and purple eyes. He had a long white and grey jacket that was purple on the inside. The jacket also had black spikes on his shoulders and he wore a black under shirt. He had blue pants with a silver belt with the letter A on it. He also had silver and white boots.
His D-Wheel was white with some parts being yellow and blue. The D-Wheel had a circular body which looked like a giant white wheel.
"There is only one king! And that is me!" Jack shouted causing the crowd to scream in excitement.
"JACK! JACK! JACK!"
After riding around the stadium, the king rode beside Yugo on the starting line.
"K-King...it's an honor to meet you...It's been my dream to duel against you..." Yugo nervously said.
"Is that so? Then prove that to me in this duel! Show me your burning passion!" Jack told Yugo.
"O-Ok!" Yugo nervously nodded.
"Apparently, we are also doing something new this year! Instead of using the normal Speed World Neo, we will be using an...Action Field...what is that?" Melissa asked as she read a script that was given to her.
"An Action Field?" Yugo said with a surprised tone.
"Oh...I see! When our challenger dueled DC 227, his duel disk activated an Action Field which was known as Crossover! Basically, spells are scattered along the field and duelists can pick them up and use them! So, the Action Field has been modified into working better with Riding Duels!" Melissa explained.
"Is that what you've been doing here, Reiji?" Serena asked the older teen.
"Partially. The platforms proved to be difficult to use in Riding Duels, so I helped the scientist of this dimension modify the Action Field." Reiji explained to the others.
"Come on Yugo...you can do this..." Yuya said.
"Don't worry, Yuya. Yugo has grown immensely stronger. He'll be fine." Yuto told Yuya.
"Yeah, I hope so..." Yuya said.
"Alright! Let's get this show on the road! Action Field On! Field Spell, Crossover Accel activate!" Melissa shouted as a sphere of cards bursted, causing them to spread all through out the track.
DUEL MODE: ON! AUTOPILOT, STAND BY!
At the same time, both Yugo and Jack's duel disk blades materialized on their D-Wheels. Jack's blade was blue while Yugo's blade was green.
A holographic screen with a countdown starting at 3 appeared in front of the two.

Both the King and Yugo sped off to reach the first corner. Despite Yugo's expertise, the King managed to speed ahead and pass the first corner.
"That was quite close! But as expected, the King has managed to reach the first corner! So, he is going first!" Melissa shouted.
"Your D-Wheel skills aren't half bad. But does your dueling match it?" Jack asked.
"Hell yeah it does!" Yugo shouted.
"We'll see! My turn!" Jack shouted as he drew his card.
Yugo couldn't help but smile at the sight of the king declaring his turn. He could feel the passion in his voice and the pressure emanating from him and his deck. He was facing the king. This was his dream. This was his chance. He was going to win.
"Show me what you got, King! I won't back down, no matter what! I will win this duel!" Yugo shouted with a determined expression.
"Yugo has just made a bold declaration against the king! Will he be able to fulfill his statement?!" Melissa shouted.
"Yugo sure is confident..." Yuya said.
Yugo's statement made Jack smirk. "Everyone who faces me says the same words...all those duels end the same!"
"Huh?" Yugo said, surprised the King would say something like that.
"I'll show you why I am the strongest! I summon Red Sprinter!"
A horse-like fiend surrounded by fire appeared and ran along side Jack.

"Inevitable victory..." Yuto uttered.

"Alright! I'll show you the strength I have gained from traveling across dimensions! My turn!" Yugo yelled as he drew his card. He glanced at the card and a smirk appeared on his face. "Let's go! With the Scale 1 Speedroid Marble Machine and the Scale 8 Speedroid Domino Butterfly, I set the Pendulum Scale!"

Race through the field, my monsters! Speedroid Jet Booster! Speedroid Passenglider! The tuner monster, Speedroid Sling Shooter! The tuner monster, Speedroid Den Den Daiko!" Yugo shouted as 4 beams of light shot out of the portal in the sky. Along with Den Den Daiko and Passenglider, two new monsters appeared. One was a monster that looked like a blue metallic toy jet that flew besides Yugo while the other was a small mech holding a sling shot that glided beside Yugo.

"I'm no where near done! Sling Shooter's effect activates! When this card is special summoned, I can draw a card for every special summoned Speedroid on my field! I draw 4 cards!" Yugo shouted as he drew up a new hand.
"Yugo isn't half bad at using Pendulum Summoning...not like I'd ever say that to his face..." Sawatari said to himself.
"Alright! You wanted to see my burning passion?! Now here it is! I tune my level 3 Speedroid Den Den Daiko to my level 3 Speedroid Jet Booster! Magical sword with the form of a cross. Use your power to rend all enemies! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 6! High-Speedroid Makendama!" Yugo shouted as his blue machine flew by his side as he rode.

"So this is what you can do?" Jack asked.
"I'm not done just yet! I tune my level 2 Sling Shooter to my level 5 Speedroid Passinglider! Spread those wondrous and beautiful wings and strike down our enemies at light speed! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo shouted as his white and blue dragon with sharp green crystal wings flew through the air.

"Yugo has just summoned one of the dragons that he used in his duel against DC 227!" Melissa shouted causing the crowd to look in awe at the sight of the beautiful dragon.
"Red Wyvern's effect activates! Once per turn, during my opponent's turn, while my opponent controls 2 or more monsters with higher ATK than this card, I can target one the one with the highest ATK and it's destroyed!" Jack shouted as his monster launched a fiery attack at Makendama, who had the highest ATK which was 2700 ATK.
"Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's effect activates! When a level 5 or higher monster activates it's effect! That effect is negated and the monster is destroyed! Then Clear Wing gains that monster's ATK! Dichroic Mirror!" Yugo shouted as the dragon flew in front of the fiery attack. Light shot out from the dragon's wings, countering the fire and hit the King's monster, causing it to burst. Clear Wing then glowed as it powered up.

"In an amazing move, Yugo has managed to clear the king's while increasing his dragon's ATK! The king now has nothing standing in between Yugo's monsters and his life points! Is this the end?!" Melissa shouted.
"Battle! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon! Direct Attack! Take out the King! Whirlwind Helldive Slasher!" Yugo shouted as his dragon flew up in the air while surrounding itself with green aura before crashing down at the defenseless King.
"If this attack hits...Yugo wins!" Yuzu said in amazement.
"JACK!" People in the crowd cried.
Jack didn't look frightened despite the circumstances. He looked at his facedown card, but his eye caught an Action Card ahead in a floating bubble. He quickly swerved to the side and rode up the track's wall. He went through the air and grabbed the Action Card.
"He went for an Action Card?!" Yuzu shouted in shock.
"Action Spell, Underworld Evasion! When my opponent declares an attack, I special summon 1 Underworld Evasion Token to my field in ATK position!" Jack shouted as a circular fiend monster appeared on his field.

"As expected of the master of riding duels to be able to pick up Action Cards so quickly...but it seems your luck wasn't good enough! Go, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon! Redirect your attack to that Token! Whirlwind Helldive Slasher!" Yugo commanded as the dragon surrounded by green energy flew towards the token.
"Underworld Evasion Token's effect! Once per turn, when this card is attacked, the attack is negated!" Jack countered as the dragon slammed into the Token, which didn't budge.
"The King was able to escape duel ending attack with the help of the new Action Cards! He truly is amazing!" Melissa cheerfully shouted.
"Heh. I knew you wouldn't have gone out that easy..." Yugo said with a nervous smile.
"Those Cards actually seems pretty cool!"
"Yeah! They make the duels more exciting!"
"Go Jack!"
The crowd shouted and cheered. But Jack didn't seem to care about the crowd. He just cared about crushing his opponent.
"I may not be able to win...but I can still deal some damage! High-Speedroid Makendama, attack the token!" Yugo commanded as his monster fired a blast of energy at the token.
"Trap Activate! Reject Reborn! The attack is negated and the battle phase is forced to end!" Jack shouted as a barrier appeared around the fiend, protecting it from the attack.
"Damn..." Yugo grunted.
"Why the hell didn't he just use that card earlier instead of using the Action Spell he grabbed?" Serena asked.
"Reject Reborn's effect aren't finished. Now, all monsters on my field are destroyed!" Jack explained as his token dispersed. "Then, I can special summon monsters from my graveyard equal to the amount of attacks that were negated during this battle phase!"
"So that's why you negated the first attack instead of activating your spell's effect right away..." Yugo realized.
"Now, since two attacks were negated, I can special summon two monsters from my graveyard! Come back! Red Wyvern! Red Resonator!" Jack shouted as the synchro and tuner monsters appeared.

Jack shouted as a red aura appeared around Clear Wing. The red energy then shot from the dragon towards Jack, causing him to be surrounded in an Crimson aura while his life points extremely increased.

"8-8900 Life Points?!!!" Yuya shouted in shock.
"No way!" Masumi yelled.
"That's insane!" Sawatari shouted.
"He was planning that...all along..." Yuzu said in disbelief and fear for her friend.
"This guy is something else..." Yuto uttered.
"In an amazing display of strategy and intelligence, Jack Atlas has managed to not only evade all of the attack thrown his way but also managed to dramatically increase his life points! Go, Jack!" Melissa cheered.
"JACK! JACK! JACK!"
Yugo looked down causing darkness to cover his visor.
"Yugo..." Yuzu looked concerned as she looked at Yugo's hopeless expression on the screen.
"Are you giving up so easily, Yugo?" Jack asked with a confident tone.
"...heheheHahaha!" Yugo laughed as he looked up with a joyful expression.
"He's laughing?" Dennis asked.
"Why are you laughing?" Jack asked.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm so happy to be dueling you, I can't help but laugh! This is my dream after all!" Yugo shouted with a grin.
"I see. In that case, I'll honor your dream by not holding back against you! You will be crushed by the full power of the King!" Jack shouted.
"I wouldn't want it any other way!" Yugo shouted with a smirk. "Since the battle's over, I now activate Makendama's effect! By banishing Speedroid Jet Booster, you take 500 points of damage!"

"I set 2 cards facedown, turn end!" Yugo concluded. "At this moment, Clear Wing's ATK returns to normal."

"My turn! I'll show you the power of the kind! I tune my level 2 Red Resonator to my level 6 Red Wyvern!" Jack shouted as the fiend became two rings that floated around the Synchro monster.
"Is his ace coming...?" Crow said to himself.
"The King's determination is conceived with a crimson blade ablaze fires of red! Appear from beyond the burning heat waves! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 8! The Burning Fierce God, Crimson Blader!" Jack shouted as a new warrior appeared on his field. The warrior had red armor and carried two long swords. The warrior also had a green cape hanging from it's waist and had blue armor covering it's face.
Crimson Blader (2800/2600) LVL: 8
"Crimson Blader?" Yugo said in confusion.
"I take it that isn't his ace?" Yuto turned to Crow.
"Yeah. It might be a close second. But, with Clear Wing on the field, this is probably a safer move." Crow explained.
"Battle! Crimson Blader, attack Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Jack shouted as his monster charged at the dragon. The warrior crossed it's blades that began to glow red.
"Trap Act-"
"Quick Play Spell, Red Rush! This card lets me target a Synchro Monster on the field that used two or more Red monsters as Synchro Materials! My opponent cannot activate Spells or Traps in response to the target's attack!" Jack shouted causing Yugo's trap cards to glow in a red aura.
"What?!"
"Now, destroy that dragon, Crimson Blader! Red Burner!" Jack shouted as the warrior drove through the center of the dragon, causing it to explode. This only caused a minor shockwave that made Yugo flinch.
YUGO: 4000-3700 LP
"Sorry, Clear Wing..." Yugo uttered. He wasn't planning on losing Clear Wing so quickly. Now, Jack could freely use his monster's effects.
"Red Rush's other effect! The target can attack an additional time this turn! Crimson Blader, attack High-Speedroid Makendama! Red Burner!" Jack shouted as the warrior crossed it's glowing red blades and charged through the machine, causing another minor shockwave.
YUGO: 3700-3600 LP
"With just one monster, Jack has managed to completely wipe out Yugo's field!" Melissa shouted.
'He defeated two of my monsters without breaking a sweat...' Yugo nervously thought.
"I set 2 cards face down. Turn End!" Jack shouted as he set his remaining two hand cards.
"I can't mess this up! My turn!" Yugo shouted as he drew. "Alright! With the set scale, Pendulum Summon!"
Yugo raised his hand in the air, pointing at his Pendulum Scale, but nothing happened.
"What the hell is going on?!" Yugo shouted in confusion.
"Why can't Yugo Pendulum Summon?" Yaiba asked.
"Yeah, what's up with that?" Hokuto asked.
"It's Crimson Blader's effect." Crow said, not taking his eyes off the screen.
"Crimson Blader's effect prevents my opponent from summoning monsters after the turn in which this card destroyed a monster!" Jack explained.
"So that's why you summoned Crimson Blader..." Yugo realized.
"How naive. Did you really think I didn't have another motive for summoning Crimson Blader? Now you are defenseless!" Jack shouted.
"I...set a card facedown, Turn End." Yugo said as he set another facedown next to his other two.
"My turn! Battle! Crimson Blader, Direct Attack!" Jack shouted as his monster's blade began to glow bright red.
"An Action Card!" Yugo said to himself as he spotted an Action Card on the far right side of the road. He tried to drive to the right, but Jack had the advantage since he was in front and was able to quickly swerve to the right and grab the card.
"Action Spell, Power Gem! My monster gains 800 ATK!" The King shouted as his monster powered up before charging at Yugo.
Crimson Blader (2800/2600)-(3600/2600)
"Yugo only has 3600 life points!" Roy shouted.
"Oh no!" Yuzu said, putting her hands over her mouth.
"End this! Red Burner!" Jack shouted as the warrior was about to slash Yugo with it's burning blades.
"Trap Activate! Negate Attack! The attack is negated and the battle phase ends!" Yugo shouted as a barrier appeared around him.
"Thank god..." Yuzu said being relieved.
"Hmph. Turn End." Jack concluded.
'Thank god I drew that card...' Yugo said with a relieved tone. "My turn! Let's go! With the set scale, Pendulum Summon! Race to the field, from my extra deck, Speedroid Passinglider!" Yugo shouted as his plan-like pendulum monster appeared.

"He summoned that monster back?"
"How?"
"If you don't know, Pendulum monsters don't normally go to the graveyard, but the extra deck instead. And while in the extra deck, Pendulum monsters can be Pendulum Summoned back to the field!" Yugo explained.
"Wow!"
"That's powerful!"
"But your monster is far too weak to go against my Crimson Blader!" Jack shouted.
"That's why my move isn't over yet! I activate the spell card Pendulum Synchro! This card lets me perform a Synchro Summon using monsters in the Pendulum Zones along with monsters on the field! I tune my level 2 Speedroid Domino Butterfly in my Pendulum Scale with my level 5 Speedroid Passinglider on my field!" Yugo shouted as the butterfly flew out of the blue column and turned into two green rings that floated around the plane.
"A Synchro Summon using monsters in the Pendulum Zone and field..." Jack said to himself.
"White dragon with shinning wings! Smash through our enemies and soar through the battle field at the speed of light! Synchro Summon! Come Forth! Level 7! Clear Wing Fast Dragon!" Yugo shouted as his Synchro dragon's Pendulum counterpart appeared which had white and green armor along with blue crystal-like wings.

"Yugo has now brought out the other dragon that helped defeat DC 227!" Melissa shouted.
"This Dragon is the power of Synchro combined with the power of Pendulum!" Yugo yelled as everyone looked at his dragon.
"So amazing!"
"Woah!"
"A Synchro Pendulum monster..." Jack muttered.
"Clear Wing Fast Dragon's effect! Once per turn, during either player's turn, I choose a monster on your field and it's ATK becomes 0! Say goodbye to your Crimson Blader's ATK! Distortion Mirror!" Yugo shouted as his dragons shot light from it's wings that managed to bind the warrior.
Crimson Blader (3600/2600)-(0/2600)
"Draining my monster's ATK..." Jack grunted.
"Battle! Clear Wing Fast Dragon! Attack Crimson Blader! Rapid Sky Drop Charge!" Yugo shouted as his dragon flew up into the air while surrounded by blue energy before charging that the Synchro monster.
Jack grunted warrior was destroyed by the impact of the dragon's attack, causing a shockwave that shook Jack's D-Wheel.

"By using his Synchro Pendulum Dragon, Yugo managed to destroy the King's monster and also a managed to deal some damage!" Melissa shouted.
"Alright! Turn End!" Yugo concluded.
"My turn!" Jack shouted as he drew. He looked at his card and smirk. "You don't stand a chance against the wrath of the king! Prepare to feel my full burning soul! While my opponent controls a monster while I do not, I can special summon Vice Dragon with it's ATK and DEF halved!"
A purple dragon with green wings appeared and flew beside Jack.

"Next, I summon the tuner monster, Net Resonator!" The King shouted as a fiend in blue and purple. The fiend carried a tuning fork and a mallet.

"Now I tune my level 3 Net Resonator to my level 5 Vice Dragon!" Jack shouted as the tuner became 3 rings that flew around the dragon. A red glow appeared from Jack's extra deck causing Yugo to feel a sense of pressure.
"This pressure...could it be?" Yugo uttered in a mix of excitement and fear.
"Here it comes..." Crow said, realizing his old friend's move.
"The heaven and earth shall tremble before the king's might! Let the power of the one and only supreme ruler be carved into your soul! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 8! The savage soul, Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight!" Jack shouted. In a burst of crimson fire, a dragon with covered in flames with a scarred glowing right hand roared.
"What...is that dragon...?" Yuya said in awe.
As the flames dispersed, the image of the dragon was revealed. The dragon had brown skin with dark red armored plates all over it's body. The dragon had sharp silver claws on it's fingers and toes, two long horns on it's head, and a long tail. The dragon also had two large wings that were red towards the top and orange towards the bottom. The dragon had menacing glowing orange eyes. The dragon's right hand had silver armor on it with a crack down the middle that glowed dark red. Everything about the dragon made it seem extremely powerful and extremely dangerous.

"That's his ace monster." Crow told the others.
"So cool! So this is what it's like seeing Scarlight so close up!" Yugo said with a worried and amazed tone.
"The moment everyone has been waiting for is here! The King has pulled out his extremely powerful ace monster! Will Yugo stand a chance against the King's most loyal servant?!" Melissa yelled.
"This is the power of my burning soul! Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight's effect! Once per turn, all monsters whose ATKs are less than or equal to Scarlight's ATK are destroyed and you take 500 damage for each monster destroyed by the effect!" Jack shouted as his dragon's right hand was glowed and was enveloped in fire.
"No way I'll let you do that! Clear Wing Fast Dragon's effect activates! Once per turn, during either player's turn, I can target a monster on the field and it's ATK is reduced to 0 and it's effects are negated! Distortion Mirror!" Yugo shouted as his dragon shot blue light from it's wings towards the red dragon.
"Continuous Trap, Red Shield activate!" Jack shouted as a red barrier appeared around his dragon, blocking the hybrid dragon's effect.
"What?!" Yugo shouted.
"While I control only 1 monster and that monster is a level 8 or lower Red Synchro monster, I can equip this card to it and it cannot be targeted by my opponent's card effects!" Jack shouted.
"No way!" Yugo shouted in disbelief.
"Taste the wrath of my dragon! Absolute Power Flame!" Jack shouted as his dragon punched the ground with it's burning fist, creating an explosive wave of heat that incinerated Fast Dragon.
"Grr..." Yugo grunted as the powerful flames hit him.

"Now Yugo's field is wide open!" Yuya shouted in horror.
"Battle! Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight! Direct Attack! Show no mercy! Scorching Crimson Hell Burning!" Jack shouted as his dragon shot a powerful orange and red fiery blast directly at Yugo.
Both Yugo and Jack saw Actions cards on different sides of the track. Jack raced to the right while Yugo managed to get the one on the left right before that attack hit.
"Action Spell, Great Escape! The battle phase is forced to end!" Yugo shouted but the king just laughed.
"Hahaha! Pathetic! Action Spell, No Action! Your Action Spell's activation is negated and destroyed!" Jack countered.
"No way!" Yuto yelled in concern for his friend.
"Yugo!" Yuzu cried.
"GRRRAAAAAAHHH!" Yugo shouted as he was consumed by the dragon's fiery blast, causing a huge explosion which made his D-Wheel spin out of control.
YUGO: 3100-100 LP
"Yugo's gonna crash!" Roy shouted.
Before Yugo's D-Wheel could spin out, Yugo grunted and took manual control, hitting the brakes and straightening out his D-Wheels path before speeding off.
"Oh thank god..." Yuya sighed in relief.
"So you managed to withstand a direct attack from my dragon? Your determination is admirable. But your dueling isn't!" Jack shouted.
"Why you...!" Yugo grunted. He almost just got killed by that attack and the first thing Jack did afterwards was calling him a bad duelist.
"With only 100 life points left, this duel will be over soon enough. I set a card facedown. Turn End." Jack concluded.
"I can't give up...I won't give up...I'll pave a better future for Rin and I...by winning this duel!" Yugo shouted with a determined look.
"Yugo..." Yuya uttered looking at his friend.
"My turn! I activate the spell card Monster Reborn! Revive, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo shouted as his ace returned.
Clear Wing Synchro Dragon (2500/2000) LVL: 7
"Now they both have their ace monsters on the field!" Hokuto realized.
"It has always been Clear Wing and I's dream to fight against you, Jack!" Yugo yelled.
"Well your dragon is far too weak to compare to mine!" Jack shouted.
"That may be true currently, but Clear Wing and I have been constantly evolving ever since our trip around the dimensions has started! Trap Activate! Assault Mode activate!" Yugo shouted as his dragon began to be covered in a bright turquoise light.
"Assault Mode?" Jack said in a surprised tone.
"He has one of those cards too?!" Crow shouted in shock.
"This card lets me release Clear Wing in order to summon a new monster from my deck! Sharpen your bright and wonderous wings and evolve beyond your limits through the shinning light! Come forth! Level 9! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon/Assault Mode!"
The light dispersed and the dragon had evolved into a new version of the former dragon. Clear Wing now had larger and sharper crystal wings with a brighter green color and had mainly white and blue armor like before but had sharp golden armor towards the dragon's chest and around its claws.

"In a surprising turn of events, Yugo has managed to evolve his dragon through the Assault Mode Trap Card! Now, both Yugo's dragon and Jack's dragon are at the same strength! Which one of them will be able to prevail?!" Melissa shouted causing the crowd to get hyped.
Despite the cheering, Yugo's eyes were focused right on Jack.
"Oh? I can see that you've become more serious." Jack noticed.
"Yeah. It's gonna take all I got to defeat you!" Yugo shouted with a determined tone.
"Your arrogance and unwillingness to accept that you simply aren't strong enough to complete your goals will be your undoing!" Jack shouted at the boy causing him to become extremely shocked and confused.
What the hell was he talking about? Why would he say that? Is it true? Was he not strong enough to protect his friends? Was he not strong enough to save Rin? All these questions raced through his head.
"What? Am I getting in your head? How weak minded are you?" Jack said before laughing.
"S-Shut up!" Yugo shouted.
"Someone like you is too weak to ever be a hero!" Jack shouted.
"I'll...make you regret those words! BATTLE! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon/Assault Mode, attack Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight! At this moment, Clear Wings' effect activates! When this card attacks an opponent's monster that was special summoned, it has it's effects negated and is destroyed! Go, Dichroic Blitz!" Yugo commanded his dragon as it flew through the air surrounded by a colorful aura with it's shinning wings.
"My burning soul is burning to bright to be taken out by one of your puny attempts of proving your strength! Red Shield's other effect activates! During either players turn besides the turn of this card's activation, I can sent this face up card to the graveyard and the equipped monster cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects!" Jack shouted as his dragon was covered in a red aura.
"What?!" Yugo shouted.
"And since your Dragon's effect won't destroy my monster, the battle continues! And since my monster can't be destroyed, the only monster that will he destroyed is yours!" The King yelled as his dragon began to charge a fiery attack.
"He countered Yugo's move with ease..." Gongenzaka said in awe. Yugo did defeat Gongenzaka with this move after all.
"Face it! Your a million years too earlier to defeat me! Go, Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight! Counterattack! Scorching Crimson Hell Burning!" Jack commanded his dragon as his ace shot it's signature fiery blast at the colorful dragon.
"I...won't just roll over and give up! Quick Play Spell, Assault Overload activate!" Yugo shouted as his dragon was enveloped in a bright light that caused the red dragon's attack to dissipate.
"What is this?" Jack asked.
"By releasing an Assault Mode monster on my field...damage equal to the released monster's level times 200 is inflicted...TO BOTH PLAYERS!" Yugo shouted as his dragon began to crack.
"Huh?" Jack let out in a surprised tone.
"WHAT?! Yugo has activated a spell that will inflict 1800 damage to both players even though he will be the only one defeated?! Why?!"
"Has he gone mad?!" Sawatari shouted.
"But he'll lose if this goes through!" Shinji said in a confused tone.
"Do it, Clear Wing!" Yugo commanded his dragon with an angry expression. The dragon roared before exploding in a bright light, that hit both Yugo and Jack. The audience and the Lancers who were watching the duel on the hologram screen were blinded, leaving them to question what just happened.
"Did Yugo just...lose?!" Yuya uttered in horror.
"He didn't! Look!" Yaiba pointed at the screen.
As the light dissipated, the sight of Jack's D-Wheel wobbling while Yugo was completely unharmed.

"H-Huh?! Yugo somehowmanaged to dodge his own self destruction and increase his life points! Was this all apart of his plan?!" Melissa shouted.
"No way!"
"How did he survive?!"
The crowd along with the Lancers remained confused on what just happened.
"I...activated the Trap Card Speedroid Absorption. When I'm about to take damage, by banishing Speedroid monsters whose combined ATK are equal to or higher than the damage I would take, the damage is reduced to 0. So by banishing the 1000 ATK Jet Booster, and the 800 ATK Sling Shooter, I took no damage! And also due to Speedroid Absorption's other effect, for every Speedroid Banished, I gained 400 life points!" Yugo explained.
"What an incredible play by Yugo! Even though his monster was about to be destroyed, he was able to inflict damage to the King while regaining some of his life points!" Melissa shouted causing the crowd to cheer.
"How was that damage? Did that shut you up?!" Yugo asked with a smirk.
"Though I commend you on your half way decent move, you still are no where close to defeating me." Jack said with a serious tone. "I'm well aware of the effects of Assault Mode monsters. And since your monster wasn't destroyed, you can't special summon back it's original form!"
"That is correct...but just because I'm defenseless doesn't mean I'm hopeless! I set one card facedown! Turn End!" Yugo shouted as he now had 1 set card on his field.
"My turn! You haven't been my weakest challenger, but you have not impressed me! Sadly for you, this is the end! Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight, Direct Attack! Scorching Crimson Hell Burning!" Jack shouted as his dragon shot a powerful red and orange blast directly at Yugo once more.
"Trap Activate! Card Defense! When an opponent's monster declares an attack, by discarding one card, the attack is negated!" Yugo shouted as he discarded the remaining Speedroid in his hand. A barrier of cards appeared around him which protected him from the attack.
"He managed to survive!"
"Amazing!"
"And thanks to Card Defense, I draw another card!" Yugo shouted as he drew.
"Don't think you are safe just yet!" Jack shouted as he was approached an Action Card that was resting in a bubble on the roar. Jack extended his arm downwards and grabbed the card.
"Not good..." Yugo grunted.
"Action Spell, Wonder Chance! Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight can attack again! Go, Scorching Crimson Hell Burning!" Jack shouted as his monster launched another attack at Yugo.
"I...banish the Three-Eyed Dice I just discarded through card barriers effect to activate it's effect! The attack is negated!" Yugo countered as a triangular barrier appeared in front of him, blocking the flames.
"He managed to block two more attacks!" Yuya said with am impressed tone.
"How persistent...I set one card facedown, Turn End!" The King concluded with a facedown.
'I'm really running low on defenses right now. With only one card in my hand...I need the best possible draw right now!' Yugo explained while looking at the Foolish Burial spell in his hand. "Respond to my wishes, my deck! My turn, draw!"
"Did he get a good card?!"
"This is so exciting!"
"Alright! I activate my spell card Shuffle Reborn!" Yugo shouted as a dark portal appeared on his field.
"Shuffle Reborn?" Jack repeated.
"While I control no monsters on my field, I can special summon a monster from my graveyard! Revive, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo shouted as his ace flew out the dark portal.
Clear Wing Synchro Dragon (2500/2000) LVL: 7
"That dragon again?" Jack said with an annoyed tone.
"Due to Shuffle Reborn's effect, I can shuffle a card on my field back into my deck to draw 1 card! I shuffle my Speedroid Marble Machine in my Pendulum Scale back into my deck...to draw 1 card!" Yugo shouted as he dramatically drew the card. The card he drew was faintly covered in a turquoise light.
"So he used the card I gave him..." Yuto smiled at the sight of his friend using the card.
"You gave him that card?" Gongenzaka asked.
"He gave one to me too." Yuya explained. Yuto knew it was a great card to use in a pinch, so he gave his extra copies of the card to Yuya and Yugo in case they ever need it.
Yugo put the card on his wrist dealer before pulling out the other remaining card in his hand. "I activate the Spell Card, Foolish Burial! This card lets me send one monster card from my deck to the graveyard! I send Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice from my deck to the graveyard!"
"Sending a card from the deck to the graveyard? Why?" Sawatari asked.
"At this moment, I activate the effect of Speedroid Den Den Daiko in my graveyard! While I have 1000 life points, I can banish this card to special summon a tuner monster from my graveyard!" Yugo shouted as the card popped out of his graveyard slot.
"Impressive! He used a combo to send his card to the graveyard and then special summoned it from the graveyard!" Melissa commented.
"Now, I'll special summon the tuner monster, Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice!" Yugo shouted as his small yellow dice with a red eye appeared.
Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice (100/100)LVL: 1
"I think I know what's coming..." Yuya gulped as he thought about the dragon that he had to go against when Yugo went berserk.
"I tune my level 1 Red-Eyed Dice to my level 7 Clear Wing Speedroid Dice!" Yugo shouted as the dice turned into a green ring that floated around Clear Wing.
Jack raised his eye brow, seemingly intrigued from the boys move.
"Spread those wings shining with scared light! Strike down your enemies with that radiance! SYNCHRO SUMMON! Come forth! Level 8! Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo shouted as his shinning crystal dragon appeared on his field.
Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon (3000/2500) LVL: 8
"So you evolved your dragon? It doesn't matter! That dragon isn't strong enough to defeat me on it's own!" Jack shouted.
"Your right. Crystal Wing isn't strong enough on it's own. That's why I'm brining out another monster! Pendulum isn't the only summoning method I picked up while I traveled between dimensions!" Yugo shouted with a smirk.
"What is he talking about?" Sawatari asked.
"Just wait and see." Yuzu smiled.
"I activate the Spell Card...Miracle Synchro Fusion!" Yugo shoutedas he slammed the card onto his duel disk.
"Miracle Synchro...Fusion?" Jack repeated.
"This card lets me remove monsters on my field and graveyard for a Fusion Summon that requires at lease one Synchro Monster as Fusion Material!"
"He's gonna Fusion Summon?!" Everyone accept for Reiji, Yuzu, Serena, Yuya, and Yuto yelled.
"I banish Hi-Speedroid Makendama and Clear Wing Synchro Dragon to perform a Fusion Summon! Dragon with beautiful and wondrous wings! Magical sword in the form of a cross! Merge together and bring forth the ultimate combination of machines and dragons! FUSION SUMMON! Come forth! Level 8! Clear Wing Machine Dragon!" Yugo shouted.
Out of the Fusion vortex, a new dragon soared through the air. The dragon was extremely similar to the dragon's original form but instead of white armor, the dragon had grey mechanized armor that had green energy flowing through out it. The dragon also had green and blue crystals on it's body with a large blue and green tail along with cyan colored eyes.

"Machine Dragon's effect activates! It gains half of the ATK of it's High-Speedroid Fusion material!" Yugo explained as the crystals on his dragon glowed.

"So you merged your dragon and your machine, interesting." Jack commented.
"Not only has Yugo managed to Synchro Summon a high level dragon, but has also managed to show off a Fusion Summon, which is another method that is from another dimension!" Melissa shouted.
"Clear Wing has evolved countless times through out our journey! This is the power I've acquired!" Yugo shouted as he raised his fist in the air while his dragons roared in sync.
"Interesting! Show me that power!" Jack shouted.
"I'm winning this duel right now! BATTLE! Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, Attack Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight! At this moment, Crystal Wing's effect activates! When battling a level 5 or higher monster, this card gains ATK equal to the battling monster!" Yugo shouted as his dragon was enveloped in a shinning aura.
Crystal Wing (3000/2500)-(6000/2500)
"6000 ATK?!" Jack shouted.
"GO! KRYSTALLOS GALE EDGE!" Yugo shouted as his dragon soared through the air at high speeds. The dragon flew upwards, leaving a path of light behind before charging directly at the red dragon.
"Trap Activate! Red Gem! Red monsters on my field can't be destroyed by battle during this turn!" Jack shouted as his monster was hit by the attack.
"But you still take the damage!" Yugo shouted.
"GAAAH!" Jack shouted as a powerful shockwave hit Jack's D-Wheel causing him to lose some control over his D-Wheel.
JACK: 4100-1100 LP
"I can still win this..." Yugo said with a determined tone.
"If Yugo attacks with Machine Dragon, he'll inflict 1100 damage which is exactly enough to wipe out the King's life points!" Yuya cheered.
As an Action Card approached inside a bubble on the track, Yugo tried catching up to Jack who was trying to regain control over his D-Wheel. But at the last moment, Jack managed to straighten his D-Wheel, leading to him grabbing the Action Card.
"Damn it..." Yugo uttered.
"Action Spell, Extreme Sword! Scarlight gains 1000 ATK during this battle phase only!"
Scarlight (3000/2500)-(4000/2500)
"I won't lose! Not to someone as weak willed and weak minded as you!" Jack taunted.
"Shut the hell up! Clear Wing Machine Dragon, Attack Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight!" Yugo commanded his dragon that was wrapped around in blue and green energy. "At this moment, Machine Dragon's effect activates! When this monster attacks, by banishing a Machine-type Synchro monster, the battling monster's effects are negated and it loses 300 ATK times the banished monster's level! So by banishing the level 6 Makendama, your monster loses 1800 ATK! Dichroic Drain!"
Scarlight (4000/2500)-(2200/2500)
"No way! The King will take 1900 points of damage if this attack goes through!" Gongenzaka realized causing everyone eye's to widen in shock.
"You lose! MECHANIZED AERIAL ASSAULT!" Yugo shouted as his dragon dragon flew through the air. The dragon extended it's sharp wings before flying downwards while surrounded by blue and green energy.
Right before the attack hit, Jack smirked. "You've done better that expected, but you are no where near close enough to beat me!"
"What?!" Yugo shouted.
"Trap Activate! Assault Armor!"
"Assault Mode?!"
"Now by releasing Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight, I can special summon it's Assault Mode form from my deck!" Jack shouted as his dragon burned brightly, causing the Fusion dragon to be knocked back before the attack could connect.
"No way! He has an Assault Mode Trap too?!" Yugo shouted.
"Savage soul of the supreme ruler! Evolve through the burning light that shakes heaven and earth and ignite your blazing power! Come forth! Level 10! The blazing soul, Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight/Assault Mode!" Jack shouted as a dragon similar to his ace appeared. The dragon now he sharp bulky red armor, burning wings, and silver armor on it's fist that ignited in a orange glow.
Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight/Assault Mode (3500/2500) LVL: 10
"No way...bringing out a new dragon at that timing..." Yugo uttered in shock before shaking his head. "My Attack isn't over! Machine Dragon can still attack! Clear Wing Machine Dragon, Attack Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight/Assault Mode! MECHANIZED AERIAL ASSAULT!"
"Due to Red Gem, my dragon isn't destroyed!" Jack countered.
"But you still take the damage!" Yugo shouted as his dragon crashed into the evolved Scarlight, causing a shockwave that hit Jack.
JACK: 1100-500 LP
"It turns out the King managed to bring out the Assault form of his own monster to help keep his life points above 0! What a counter from the King!" Melissa yelled causing the crowd to roar in excitement.
"No way!"
"This duel is so amazing!"
"...You still don't get it...do you?" Jack asked.
"Get what?!" Yugo asked with an confused and annoyed tone.
"Even as the way you are now...you have no chance to complete your goals! Your dueling is full of selfishness!" Jack shouted at the boy causing him to look in confusion.
"My dueling is...selfish...?" Yugo uttered.
"You don't duel to accomplish the Lancer's shared goal of saving the dimensions! I can tell through your dueling that deep down, all you care about is your own desires of making a better future for yourself and your lady friend!" Jack shouted, pointing at Yugo.
"My own desires...?"
"This is the final turn! My turn!" Jack shouted as he drew.
"But he can't win...Crystal Wing will destroy his monster as soon as he uses it's effect...and even if he somehow counters that, if his Dragon's effect is like his original Dragon's effect, Clear Wing Machine Dragon has more ATK so he won't be able to destroy it and I'll only take 500 points of damage...I've won!" Yugo said to himself.
"You are probably thinking that you've won this duel, right? How cocky and naive. You lack the strength to climb to the submit where I stand! MY TURN!" Jack shouted as he drew.
"Can Jack defeat both of Yugo's powerful dragon's and win the duel?!" Melissa questioned.
"I activate Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight/Assault Mode's effect! Once per turn, all monsters whose levels are less than Scarlight's level are destroyed and you take 500 damage for each monster destroyed by the effect!" Jack shouted as his dragon's right hand was glowed and was enveloped in a crimson burst of fire.
"Both of Yugo's dragons are level 8!" Serena realized.
"Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon's effect activates! Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a monster activates an effect, that effect is negated and that card is destroyed! Then, Crystal gains it's ATK until the end of the turn!" Yugo shouted as his dragon's crystal armor shined. The dragon's light collided with the Red dragon's fire, causing a big explosion.
Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon (3000/2500)-(6500/2500)
"Not only was Yugo able to counter the King's move, but he was able to increase his dragon's ATK to 6500!" Melissa shouted.
"Alright! Yugo can win this!" Yuya cheered.
"When Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight/Assault Mode is destroyed, I can special Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight from my graveyard! Come, the savage soul, Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight!" Jack shouted as his ace returned to the field with a loud roar.
Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight (3000/2500) LVL: 8
'Since both of my dragons are stronger than Scarlight, he can't use it's effect to damage me! I've won...!" Yugo though to himself.
"This is the final card to achieve my victory! The card that engraves itself into souls! I activate the Equip Spell, Engrave Soul Light!" Jack shouted as his dragon's right fist ignited in a powerful burst of burning energy.
"What is this...?!" Yugo said in shock.
"This card can only be equipped to a Red Synchro monster! Engrave Soul Light's effect makes the ATKs of all monsters on my opponent's field that have higher ATK then the equipped monster become equal to the equipped monster's ATK!" Jack shouted.
"WHAT?!" Yugo shouted.
"Since Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight's ATK is 3000, while your dragon's ATKs are 6500 and 4100, both of their ATKs become 3000!" Jack exclaimed as his dragon raised it's glowing fist in the air. Multiple waves of energy radiated from the fist that weakened both of Yugo's dragons.

"N-No...way..." Yugo uttered in disbelief. "This was your plan...to bait me into using Crystal Wing's effect...and now...!"
"Now, this duel is finished! Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight's effect! Once per turn, all other monsters on the field with ATKs that are equal or lower than this card are destroyed and you take 500 damage for each one!" Jack shouted as his dragon's fist ignited in flames.
"He'll take 1000 damage!" Yuto realized.
"YUGO!" Yuya and Yuzu shouted.
"I'm sorry...Rin...I couldn't create a better future for us after all..." Yugo uttered looking down.
"Be gone from my sight! ABSOLUTE POWER FLAME!" Jack shouted as his dragon punched the ground, causing a powerful heatwave to consume Yugo and his two dragons. As his two dragons were destroyed, an explosion occurred...sending Yugo flying off of his D-Wheel.
"GAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

"I-It's over! Yugo put up an impressive fight, but as expected, our King pulled through with an impressive combo! GO JACK!" Melissa cheered.
"JACK! JACK! JACK! JACK!"
"Damn you...King..." Yugo grunted as he looked through his crack visor and saw the King driving off before passing out.
As he lost consciousness, his ace monster's Card faintly glowed.
"Master...I'm sorry for not being strong enough..." The voice said before the card stopped glowing.
"Oh my god...Yugo..." Yuzu uttered in horror.
"Yugo was defeated..." Yuto said in shock.
"That guy...he's strong...seriously strong..." Serena said in an amazed tone.
"Damn Jack and his harmful way of dueling!" Crow shouted in anger.
"I'm going to make him pay..." Yuya spoke causing everyone to turn to him.
"Yuya?" Yuzu said in a worried tone.
"His dueling goes against everything mine stands for...and he hurt Yugo...so I'll win this whole damn thing and I'll make him pay!" Yuya shouted.
"Well that was an exciting duel!" White Taki clapped causing everyone to turn around.
"Yes, indeed it was." Gael commented.
"I am impressed on how well the boy did. I expected the duel to be over in three turns." Gray admitted.
"You'll find out the teams you've been assigned to in a few hours." Azul told them.
"W-What?! We don't get to choose?!" Sawatari shouted.
"Of course not. That would be unfair." Bordeaux spoke.
"Also, this is a good way of demonstrating how we can coordinate and work together with each other, no matter who we team up with." Reiji spoke. "That's what you are testing, right?"
"Correct." White Taki said. "Now you'll be escorted back to your rooms. Prepare to be fetch in a few hours. Food will be provided."
"Oh yeah! I could kill to eat a decent meal!" Sawatari shouted, causing everyone to stare at him.
"What about Yugo?!" Yuto shouted.
"Don't worry, he'll be taken to the medical area and then will be escorted to his room once he is cleared. It won't take too long." Gael explained.
"Don't worry. I've seen Jack do WAY worse to him opponents. He actually took it easy on that last attack. He'll be fine, don't worry." Crow told the other teens.
"Enjoy your rooms." White Taki waved as the men in white escorted the Synchro residents and the Lancers out of the room, excluding Reiji and Reira, who weren't participating in the tournament.
Each other the men had taken a different contestant to a different room. As Yuya walked alone while being escorted by two men in white, his eyes came across three figures.
Two were Security Officers and the other one was a small boy with blue eyes and a brown and black uniform with red lining.
The two Officers were harassing the kid and pushing him around.
"Where were the waters we asked for, servant?!" One Officer shouted.
"Yeah! You filthy commons can't do anything, can you?!" The second man shouted.
"I-I'm so sorry...!" The boy uttered.
"Hey! Thats enough! Leave him alone!" Yuya shouted speeding away from his escorts. Yuya ran over to the three and stopped in between the boy and the two guards.
"H-Huh?!" The boy uttered in shock. He was surprised someone actually stood up for him, despite him being a common.
"Get out of the way!" The first Officer shouted as he threw a punch at Yuya.
Yuya caught the lunch similarly to how Reiji caught his punch a while back and threw the man backwards with enough force to knock him into the wall behind him.
"Why you-?!" The second Officer shouted before charging at the teen.
But, the two escorts got in the way causing the Officer to stop.
"The Executive Council have assigned us to escort this teen to his room with no harm inflicted to him. If you do not step away, you will be stripped of your status and thrown into the commons. Is that understood?" The first escort asked causing the officers to shake in fear.
"Y-Yes! We are sorry!" The two bowed before running off.
"Are you ok?" Yuya asked the boy in concern.
"I'm ok..." The boy timidly replied.
"Don't worry. They won't bother you anymore." Yuya said with a comforting smile.
"T-Thank you..." The big bowed to Yuya.
"N-No need for that!" Yuya waved his hands, signaling that he doesn't want praise.
"We must be getting a move on." The second man in white told Yuya.
"Hey, can he walk with us that way those guys don't come back when we leave?" Yuya asked the men.
"If it prevents you from running off again, then yes." The first man replied.
"As long as he doesn't interfere with the escort." The second man said.
"T-Thank you..." The boy said before walking with Yuya and the two men.
After walking for a few moments, Yuya decided to talk to the timid boy.
"So, what's your name?" Yuya asked.
"Sam." The boy names Sam replied.
"I'm Yuya Sakaki!" Yuya greeted.
"Are you a Top? Because you certainly don't look like a Common..." Sam asked.
"I'm actually one of the Lancers that have come from a different dimension." Yuya answered causing Sam's eyes to widen.
"Y-You are one of those guys?!" Sam asked.
"Yep! Yugo, the guy who dueled the King, is my friend." Yuya told him.
"Woah...so you are participating in the Friendship Cup then?" Sam asked.
"Yeah." Yuya replied.
"I see...that was your first time seeing the King then...what do you think of him...?" Sam timidly asked.
Yuya's eyes twitched before speaking. "That guy...he hurt Yugo through his dueling...and his entertainment...was desolating his power by hurting his opponent...someone like that doesn't deserve such a status..."
"Yeah..." Sam trailed off.
"I believe that dueling shouldn't be too hurt people. That's why I'm fighting as a lancer. To stop people who hurt others through dueling." Yuya said with a determined look.
"We are here." The men in white said. The two didn't even realize that they had arrive outside of Yuya's room.
"Yuya...I want you to have something..." Sam said pulling a card out of his pocket.
"Eh? A card?" Yuya said as the boy pulled out a monster. The monster was a tuner called Tuning Magician. She was a smaller magician with pink hair, white clothing with green outlines, and a large tuning fork.
"Yes. This is a card that the King gave to me." Sam told Yuya.
"The King gave it to you?" Yuya repeated in a surprised tone.
"That's right...I want you to win the Friendship Cup so you can give this card back to him!" Sam explained.
"Give this card back to him?" Yuya repeated.
"Jack was always my hero. I always wanted to be like him. He led Team Satisfaction to victory and defeated countless Tops, one after an other. Eventually, he became king. He was the first King to have been a common. It gave us commons hope that we could get to the top like he did! But with that title, he began to change. Sponsors and companies approached him. He became extremely wealthy. And with that power and wealth, he began to look down on us..."
Flashback
The King was getting out of a white limousine and walked onto a red carpet. Sam jumped out in front of the crowd of people that were being held back by rope.
"Hey! You can't be out here!" A guard shouted.
"It's fine." Jack waves the men away. The boy looked up in excitement at the sight of his hero.
"Um...I've been a fan of you for as long as I can remember! I want to be just like you! I want to reach the top like you did! But I have no cards or money...that's why I'm rooting for you! Please keep representing the commons!" Sam said with a cheerful expression. Jack looked at the boy and took out the card.
"If you don't have any cards...I'll give you this one." Jack said giving the boy the female magician. "This card is most suited for you."
Flashback end
"That Card he gave you...was this card..." Yuya realized.
"A card with a low level, and 0 ATK and DEF...he was just looking down on me...even though we were both commons...that's why...I want you to win the Friendship cup so you can give this card back to him!" Sam explained.
"But why me?" Yuya asked.
"Your presence has not gone completely unnoticed. I've heard Officers staying here talk about a Tomato haired boy who beat the Security Captain! And, some Officers with jailer friends have spoken about a Tomato haired boy who beat the legendary Chojiro Tokumatsu! And, I've seen your kindness up close!" Sam explained causing Yuya to smiled.
"...ok, Sam. I'll do it. I'll win the Friendship Cup and then I'll give this card back to the king!" Yuya said with a determined expression.
"Thank you, Yuya." Sam bowed before walking off.
The first man in white opened the door to the room. Yuya walked in and the man shut the door behind him.
The room was nice. There was one bed with a table in front of it. The table had lots of food for Yuya to eat. There was a TV on the wall and a glass window displaying a great view of the City.
"Well...this sure beats staying in the Facility..." Yuya said before sitting on his bed. He took out his deck which had his Smile World card at the top while holding Tuning Magician in his other hand.
"I promised Sam I would use this card..." Yuya said to himself, thinking how this card could work with his deck. For one, it was magician which was nice since he used many magicians in his deck. It was also nice to have other Tuners besides Odd Eyes Synchron and Nobledragon Magician. And, it would also be easier to summon Odd Eyes Wing. But with an effect that damages himself while giving his opponent extra life, it could be costly.
He then looked at Smile World. He closed his eyes and thought about his mom, Shuzo, the kids at You Show, and especially his dad. He was determined to bring smiles to the people of this dimension. He was going to show them a form of entertainment that didn't have to do with violence and pain. He then pulled out the second card at the top which was Odd Eyes and held it up.
"Odd Eyes...let's do this." Yuya said to his card.
"Let's go, Yuya." A voice spoke to the boy. At first Yuya was puzzled. He just thought this was his imagination playing tricks on him since he was alone. But little did he know...that wasn't entirely correct.
With Yuto
Yuto was too bummed out to eat. After being escorted to his room, he sat on the floor and later all of his cards on the floor. He was trying to figure out new moves and combos he could use.
He was upset because his goal to save the love of his life was ONCE AGAIN delayed. He wanted to get this damn tournament over with. So, he wasn't going to waist anytime in worrying about things like the crowd, like Yuya and Yuzu. And he wasn't going to focus on dethroning the King, like Yugo.
He was going to win as quick as possible. He was going to get out of this dimension so he could go to Academia and save Ruri from captivity. As he looked through his deck, he looked at the Level Sanctuary spell card Ruri gave him before the war started. He smiled as he remembered the great times they had together.
As he continued to go through his deck, he picked up his Ritual Dragon and stared at it. Every time he used this card, he went berserk. He grunted as he remembered the pain he felt while dueling the Obelisk Force, Kaiser, and Kiryu.
"I know every time I use this card...I lose control...but if using this card is what it takes to be strong enough to save Ruri...I'll just have to deal with it." Yuto said with a determined expression. He was going to save her, no matter the cost was.
With Yugo
Yugo woke up in the bed of a room that was just like all the other Lancer's rooms. As soon as he got up, he felt his body, feeling multiple bruised and burns from his duel. He went into the bathroom and took all of the bandages and wraps off of himself before walking back towards his bed.
He laid on his bed while thinking about what had just happened. Even with the power of Pendulum and Fusion, the King still toyed with him. But what hurt the most was what he said to him.
"Your arrogance and unwillingness to accept that you simply aren't strong enough to complete your goals will be your undoing!"
"Someone like you is too weak to ever be a hero!"
"Even as the way you are now...you have no chance to complete your goals! Your dueling is full of selfishness!"
"You don't duel to accomplish the Lancer's shared goal of saving the dimensions! I can tell through your dueling that deep down, all you care about is your own desires of making a better future for yourself!"
"My dueling...is selfish..." Yugo uttered. He was trying to understand what the King meant by that.
Of course he wanted to save the dimensions...of course he wanted to protect his new friends...right?
But...was he only doing this just for himself? Did he only join the Lancers just to have a better chance of saving Rin? Did he only want to become King just to have a good future for himself and Rin?
All these thoughts raced through his head causing his head to hurt. How could the King find out all these things in just one duel? And more importantly...why couldn't Yugo figure these answers on his own?
Yugo pulled out his Clear Wing Synchro Dragon and stared at it.
"Clear Wing...I'm sorry I let you and Rin down...I just wish...I could understand what the King told me..." Yugo said to himself in a sad tone.
Then, a light bulb went off in his head.
"That's right! I get it now! The King found out stuff about me through my dueling! So dueling will help me understand what he told me!" Yugo realized before also pulling out Crystal Wing, Fast Dragon, Machine Dragon, and Assault Mode and held them in his hand along with Clear Wing.
"I'll win the Friendship Cup and I'll face the King again!"
A few hours later
After getting some sleep and some rest, all of the Lancers and Synchro Residents were escorted back to the Executive Council's room.
They walked in and saw Reiji and Reira along with the elder leaders. There was a screen with each of theLancers and Synchro Residents on it.
There was a man in white under the machine that had a holographic keyboard in front of him.
"Greetings participants." Gael greeted.
"It is time for you all to find out your teams." Gray told the duelists.
"About time..." Sawatari impatiently said.
"After everyone is told what their teams are, you will all have a few moments to discuss what your teams are called." Azul explained.
"Reiji Akaba will be providing you the information on your teams." Bordeaux said causing everyone to turn to Reiji.
"The first team is Hokuto, Sawatari, and Roy." Reiji said as the pictures of the three appeared at the top of the holographic scene.
"Awesome!" Hokuto shouted.
"I can work with this." Roy smirked.
"Just don't hold me back!" Sawatari proudly said causing the two to sweat drop.
"The second team is Shinji, Damon, and Tokumatsu." Reiji said as the three's names appeared in the next column.
"Great!" Damon cheerfully said before turning to his friend.
"Yeah! Let's do this, Damon!" Shinji exclaimed.
"Alright boys! Let's win this tournament!" Tokumatsu put his arms around the two's necks.
"Yeah!" The two shouted.
"The third team is Yaiba, Tsukikage, and Dennis."
"Alright! I'm fired up!" Yaiba shouted.
"It will be an honor to duel along side you both." Tsukikage said.
"Let's put on a spectacular show!" Dennis cheerfully said.
"The fourth team is Yuto, Masumi, and Gongenzaka."
"Yuto and Gongenzaka, eh? I like this team." Masumi admitted.
"I, the man Gongenzaka, will do my absolute best to help our team win!" Gongenzaka said.
"Thanks, Gongenzaka, Masumi. I'm glad to be fighting along side you."
"The fifth team is Yugo, Yuzu, and Shun."
"I'm on a team with Yuzu! Awesome!" Yugo cheerfully said.
Yuzu looked at Yuya with a sad expression. She had hope to be on his team. But Yuya just gave her a reassuring nod which caused her to smile.
"I already know we'll make a great team, Yugo." Yuzu smiled.
"To think I would be stuck on a team with Fusion users..." Shun grunted.
"Hey, we're gonna need to work together if we want to win." Yugo said.
"Just stay out of my way." Shun said giving Yugo a cold gaze.
"O-Ok!" Yugo said before whimpering behind Yuzu, similarly to the way he did the first time he and Yuzu met Shun.
"The sixth team is Yuya, Serena, and Crow."
"Let's win this thing, Yuya." Serena looked at Yuya with a determined look who had the same look on his face.
"Alright! Let's do this, kid!" Crow patted Yuya on the back.
"Right! I'm glad to be fighting alongside you both." Yuya nodded to the two.
"Now, group you with your teams and come up with a name. I'm eager to see what you choose." White Taki said with a happy smile.
A few moments later
After splitting up into their assigned teams, the groups talked and on their team names.
"Alright, Team 1. What will you be called?" White Taki asked.
"Ahem...we shall be known as..." Sawatari paused for the dramatic tension.
"Just say it already..." Serena groaned
"...Team Magnetic Stars!" Sawatari announced.
"Magnetic is for my Magnet Warriors." Roy started.
"And my monsters are based off of constellations." Hokuto added
"And I'm always the star of the show, along with my ace monster, Abyss Actor Big Star!" Sawatari enthusiastically shouted.
The women with the holographic keyboard type in the team's name next to their pictures.
"Team two?"
"Our team name is..." Damon started.
"Team Revolution!" Shinji shouted.
"I wanted the team to be named Team Enjoy but I can't argue with these boys..." Tokumatsu said.
"Team three?"
"Our team will he known as...Swords of Entertainment!" Dennis shouted.
"Since Tsukikage and I use swordsman warriors..." Yaiba started.
"And since I use Entermages and I will entertain the crowd!" Dennis shouted.
"Correct." Tsukikage nodded.
"Team four?"
"We are Team Blades of Bravery!" Masumi shouted.
"Since all three of us use either Knights or Samurai." Yuto explained.
"And our warriors will fight with bravery and honor, just like us!" Gongenzaka shouted.
"Team five?"
"You want to say it, Yugo?" Yuzu asked.
"Sure! We are...Team Wings of Victory!" Yugo shouted sounding very pumped up.
"We chose this name because we use winged monsters like Yugo's dragons, Shun's Raidraptors, and my Prodigy Mozart..." Yuzu explained.
"And we will claim victory against anyone we face!" Yugo shouted.
Shun just looked out the two. They reminded him of a younger Ruri and Yuto.
"And Team six?"
"I'll say it..." Yuya looked at the two.
"Go on then." Serena nodded.
"Go for it, kid." Crow said.
"Our team will be called...Team United Hope!" Yuya shouted.
"Because we will united together to fight against any team we face!" Serena shouted.
"And we will never give up hope, no matter the situation!" Crow shouted.
"Excellent! Now, you'll all be escorted to a room in which you will be living with your teammates." White Taki explained.
Realizing this was this may be his last time he saw Yuzu for a while, Yuya ran over and hugged Yuzu as everyone began to walk out.
"Yuya...I'm going to miss you..." Yuzu said in a quiet tone.
"Don't worry, Yuzu. We won't be separated for long." Yuya reassured her.
"Right. Yuya, don't lose yourself no matter what happens to me, Yuto, Yugo, or anyone else. Remember to duel for what you believe in, no matter what." Yuzu told the boy, repeating the words she said to him before the battle royale.
"I promise, Yuzu." Yuya held her hand. They both smiled at each other. But sadly, they had to let go. Neither wanted to let go, but they had no choice.
"See you soon, Yuya."
"Stay safe, Yuzu."
Little did they no, things would get much more complicated...
With Roget
Roget was standing in a room with a bunch of monitors of the stadium and the Lancers. As he said watched, 9 people stood behind him. They were all grouped together in sets of three.
One group consisted of Security Captain, Ushio Trudge. He didn't want to be here, but Roget told him he would lose his job if he didn't do what he said. He had to earn back Roget's trust in him due to his defeat at the hands of Yuya Sakaki.
Standing next to him was DC 227. After his televised lost to Yugo and Yuzu Hiragi, he was stripped of his power and status and was thrown out like garbage. But, Roget told him he would give him a second chance by being here.
The third person in the group was Frost. After his lost to Yuto, he wanted to prove to Roget that he was still his most powerful duelist. Due to his loyalty, he agreed to what Roget wanted him to do.
In the other group was three large me who each looked extremely menacing.
The first was a bald man who had dark skin. He wore a black and yellow cloak. His name was Devack.
The second was a dark skinned man with long black hair. The man wore a brown chest plate and black fingerless gloves along with white pants. The chest plate had purple lines running through it. This man's name was Bommer.
The third man and the leader of the group had dark skin and white hair. He wore a sleeveless red shirt and a red and black cloak. His name was Rudger.
(A/N: Yes, I am using some dark signer here! Surprise! I told you a lot of legacy characters would be appearing! Remember, these people aren't actual Dark Signers. They don't have Earthbound Immortals. They just have their regular decks. This was a last minute decision since I still needed one more teamand I decided to add these guys in)
The final group was standing towards the far end of the room.
The first was the Death God himself, Kiryu Kyosuke. Although the main reason he was here was to get paid, he wouldn't mind facing that Yuto kid again after he was almost beaten by him.
The second was the Black Rose Witch. Her self motivations were...unclear. But, she did want to duel either that Serena girl or that Yuzu girl again.
The third was the Duelist Crusher, Sergey. The cyborg did anything Roget ordered him to do. But deep down, the human part of the cyborg wanted a challenge, like when he dueled Yugo.
"So...are you all ready to compete?" Roget asked with a devilish smirk.
Everything was going according to plan...and soon, he will have everything he needs...
Aaaand Done! Whew! That duelwas a lot of fun to write. I'm really glad you guys chose Yugobecause the Yuyascript I planned would have been a lot harder for me to write. I hope you are all satisfied with the duel. Please don't be mad that Yuya didn't get to face jack, because who knows, maybe Yuya will face Jack later on? Maybe Yuto will? Maybe Sawatari will?
So I'll talk about the duel first. I bet you are all happy that it wasn't a three turn duel like in the anime. I kept some things similar but I also changed a lot. For example, I had Jack use Crimson Blader which is a card that Arc V Jack used in a Flashback. I may also let him use Synchros that 5Ds Jack used later on. He'll be dueling more in this story. Also, I completely forgot about Flare Resonator's anime effect to gain ATK from a Synchro on either field, so Jack getting a big boost in life wasn't planned but it worked since Yugo's deck lets him deal massive damage. I hope you liked the inclusion of all of Yugo's ace cards because like my Yuya vs Reiji duel, which may be one of my favorite duels I've done, I had Yugo go all out that way when he lost, he would feel the need to improve and to get stronger. Also, I hope you enjoyed Scarlight's Assault Mode since I wasn't planning on including it, but it worked out. It didn't really get too much use in this duel but since Jack is an expert strategist, he was able to bait Yugo into using Crystal Wing's effect so he could use the original Scarlight's effect along with Engrave Soul Light to wipe out Yugo's life points. It was a very fun duel to write and I hope you are all happy with the outcome.
About the interaction during the duel, this part was sort of tricky. Although the Yuya option would have been a harder duel to write, the character interaction would have been easier. But as a writer, I had to rise to the challenge and come up with things Jack could say for Yugo to have character development. Sorry if I made the king too much of an ass, but he was the same way in 5Ds towards the beginning. So, since Yuya's development was to find his own dueling, Yuto's development is going to be something about him fighting for more then himself. Yugo is a kid with a great heart, but the reason he allied himself with the Lancers was to find Rin. He really didn't care about the War more then Rin. That's how it was in the anime at least. And I'm also saying this because I'm the story, he doesn't want to beat Jack to establish peace between the commons and Tops. He just cares about getting to the top along with Rin so they can have a future. Deep down, his true motive for him and Rin to have a good future. He'll also have to become stronger so he can accomplish who goals. So, he'll have to confront these things through the tournament so he can become a worthy opponent of the king, if he makes it that far. Sorry if it isn't the best, but I had to work with what I had. I hope it is good enough for you guys. Do not worry, Yuya will be getting character development too. Probably more on the lines of finding his own dueling and not going Berserker. But I don't know. We'll see.
I hope you all ok with the way Yuya got Tuning Magician from Sam in this version. I didn't want him to go into his first duel before getting the card so I decided to make up a little story about how Yuya met Sam. I really didn't want him to give the card to Yugo because that would make no sense. And, this card leads to Enlightenment Paladin which is one of my favorite cards that Yuya owns.
Welp, I did my best with the names. That's all I have to say about that lol.
Anyways, I hope y'all like the finalized teams! All the other teams will be revealed in the next chapter.
And I hope you like the inclusion of some of the Dark Signers, which aren't Dark Signers in this world.

E.T 2000: Honestly, I was trying really hard to get that chapter out quickly and I kinda recapped but I didn't really go in depth like the anime did about Tokumatsu. I like the guy, but I didn't feel like writing all of it out since I was focused on scripting three duels in that chapter. And I assumed most people know what basically happened to him. And yes, they will have there duel. I really enjoyed that duel. But, I don't want to copy duels straight from the anime so I'll be changing some of it, like I did with Yuya vs Tokumastu. No preview since I've already started working on one match and depending on one 3v3 match and depending on how long that takes, I may do another match. I'll have to see what the word count is at for the chapter.
I'm extremely excited to be actually starting the tournament that I feel like I've been talking about since the beginning of this fic!
