The seventh match of the first round had just concluded with the Team Dark Hunters defeating Team Fortune Ark relatively easily.
"It looks like Yugo and Yuzu will be up next." Yuya said.
"Yeah, against Yaiba, Tsukikage, and Dennis. All three are powerful duelists in their own right." Serena added.
"So this means no matter the outcome, a Lancer team will be sent underground." Crow realized.
"Sadly, that's correct." Yuya said while looking down.
"It was bound to happen. No matter who wins this tournament, the majority of us will be underground." Serena sighed.
"That may be true, but once we win, we'll get them all out of the underground." Crow said with a cheerful tone.
"Yeah. We'll save everyone!" Yuya said with a determined smile.
Suddenly, the door of the room opened, revealing Sam standing on the other side.
"Sam?! What are you doing here?" Yuya asked.
"We aren't suppose to be dueling anytime soon." Serena mentioned.
"It's not about that. You have been summoned by the council." Sam said while looking at Yuya.
"Me?!" Yuya questioned in a surprised tone.
"Yes. I am here to retrieve you." Sam explained.
"Why? What do they want with Yuya?" Crow asked.
"I do not know. But we must hurry." Sam said.
"Alright." Yuya said as he began to walk to the door.
"Be careful, Yuya." Serena said to the boy.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." Yuya smiled as the door shut behind him.
The two then began to make their way to the council's room.
"I saw your match. You did great!" Sam complemented the boy.
"...Thanks." Yuya smiled. He wasn't proud of how the duel ended, but he took the compliment anyway.
"I never imagined Tuning Magician could be used in such a way..." Sam trailed off, rethinking his thoughts about the card and and the person who gave it to him.
"Yeah...do you know why they want me?" Yuya asked.
"I don't. But you will find out soon enough." Sam said as they approached the doors to the Council's room. "Yuya, good luck."
"Thanks." Yuya nodded before Sam opened the door and Yuya walked through.
As he walked in, he saw the five members of the Council sitting on their thrones with two familiar siblings in front of them.
"Reiji? Reira?" Yuya said at the sight of the siblings.
"Yuya!" Reira said as he ran up and hugged the boys leg, who patted his head in return.
"Yuya Sakaki, it's a pleasure to see you again." Gael greeted the boy.
"We saw your duel and we were quite impressed." Gray said.
"Officer Frost was a power duelist and a hero to many of the people of this city. Defeating him was an excellent accomplishment." Azul added.
"And your Synchro Monster was very impressive, wouldn't you agree Chairman?" Bordeaux asked.
"I do agree. It was a great first match to kick off the tournament." White Taki smiled.
"T-Thanks..." Yuya said as he scratched the back of his head. "If you don't mine me asking, why am I here?"
"I asked for them to bring you here." Reiji spoke.
"Huh? Why?" Yuya asked.
"There are somethings we need to discuss after the match. And the Council liked you so much that they decided to have you watch the next match with us." Reiji explained.
"I see..." Yuya said, wondering what Reiji needed to tell him.
Suddenly, the door opened and a blonde haired man with a spiky white jacket walked into the room.
"You are...Jack Atlas!" Yuya realized as he looked at the king.
"King? What brings you here?" Gael asked.
"I was just stopping by before heading to my throne to watch the next match." Jack explained before turning to Reiji. "So you are the leader of the Lancers..."
"It's an honor to meet you, king." Reiji said.
"Your Lancers are certainly making this year's friendship cup interesting." Jack commented.
"HEY!" Yuya shouted at the king, getting his attention.
"Yuya Sakaki...you're on Crow's team. You are the one who used Tuning Magician. Why do you have that card?" Jack asked the Pendulum user.
"Sam gave it to me! You tried into insult him by saying that a weak card suited him! But when used properly, Tuning Magician isn't weak at all!" Yuya angrily shouted at the king.
"I know that. I never gave that boy Tuning Magician to ridicule him." Jack explained.
"Huh?!"
"When I was little, I always dreamed of being at the top. But the only card I owned was my Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight. One day, a card fell from the sky, due to being thrown down like trash by Tops. At first when I looked at the card, I didn't think much of it. But then I found a deeper meaning in the card." Jack explained.
"A deeper meaning?" Yuya repeated.
"This card represented me starting at the very bottom. It represented how I needed to grow stronger in order to reach the top. So I built my deck up to be the best in all of Neo Domino and climbed my way to the top along with my teammates. When I saw that boy Sam, I saw myself in him. I saw someone starting at the very bottom that craved to be at the top. So I gave him Tuning Magician. But obviously, he didn't initially view the card like I did." Jack explained, surprising Yuya.
"You really thought that about Tuning Magician?" Yuya asked.
"Yes, but I never figured out how to use the card, unlike you did. For that, you have gained a bit of my respect. But your dueling is no where near what it needs to be in order come close to me." The King said, causing Yuya to grit his teeth.
"What the hell is that suppose to mean?" Yuya demanded to know.
"You say you want to entertain the crowd with your dueling, but you only want to do that for yourself. Your dueling is nothing more than self-satisfaction!" Jack shouted as he pointed at the boy.
"Self-satisfaction...?" Yuya uttered in confusion.
"It's clear you only try to make the crowd smile to make yourself happy! Putting on a show with flashy tricks for your own self interest is far from entertainment. The only way to entertain and make the crowd truly smile is to show the crowd your true strength!" The King exclaimed.
"Tch...how dare you say that about my entertainment dueling!" Yuya angrily yelled. "Dueling is for fun, not for displaying strength!"
"If you truly believe that, then you wouldn't automatically abandon your ideals the moment you start losing!" Jack argued, making Yuya think for a moment.
Now that he thought about it, the king was right. In his previous duel, he tried to hold on to his Entertainment Dueling but began to let it go when backed into a corner. But unlike other times, he wasn't going berserk. He was giving into his own inner anger, causing him to naturally start dueling more violent. This lead him to calling on Odd Eyes Saber Dragon and Enlightenment Paladin. But his anger caused the duel to end with his opponent face down on the track...which went against everything he believed in.
Yuya looked down in silence causing the King to smirk.
"Heh. It's good that you can now acknowledge your problem, but it won't matter because I will never lose to someone like you." Jack said as he turned to leave.
"Wait..." Yuya uttered making Jack turn around.
"What is it?" Jack said, glaring at the boy who looked up at him with a determined look.
"No matter what you say...one fact remains...you hurt my friend Yugo in your duel...and you'll pay for that." Yuya said as he glared at the king.
"You'll still need to win the tournament before doing that. And with the way you are now, I doubt you require the strength to win." Jack coldly said before facing the door. "Tell Crow that I hope he is well. I'm off."
The King then walked through the door, leaving Yuya somewhat speechless.
"Don't worry, Yuya Sakaki. The King only talks to duelist that are exceptional." White Taki said to the boy.
"Does he now..." Yuya sighed.
"The match is starting." Gael pointed out as the Lancers and Council members looked at the large screen on the wall.
At the Stadium
It was now night time outside. The stadium was filled with bright lights as the crowd cheered in anticipation for the final duel of the night.
"Alright! The final match of the first round is approaching! Are you excited, everyone?" Melissa asked.
"YEAH!" The crowd yelled.
"Let's get the final duel of the day started! The duel that will be the finale of the first round is Team Wings of Victory vs Team Swords of Entertainment!" Melissa shouted as the teams of Lancers walked out onto the field.
(For the sake of my sanity, I'm not going to describe the outfits of these people since Yugo, Yuzu, Shun, Dennis, and Tsukikage had D-Wheel outfits in the anime. Just picture Yaiba in a orange outfit with a white helmet that had a orange visor. His D-Wheel would be white with his green duel disk blade.)
"Yaiba. Dennis. Allow me to go first." Tsukikage suggested.
"Go ahead man!" Yaiba said with an encouraging smile.
"Show the crowd a spectacular duel!" Dennis smiled.
The ninja yelled as he put his helmet on and drove off on his D-Wheel.
At the other pit, Team Wings of Victory had just arrived and were thinking about who should go first.
"Guys, please let me go first." Yuzu said.
"Eh? You want to go first?" Yugo said in a surprised tone.
"Yeah. I want to show Yuya a message through my dueling!" Yuzu said with a determined tone.
"That's fine with me! Do you mind, Kurosaki?" Yugo asked.
Shun looked out and saw that his opponent that he wanted to duel wasn't on the track.
"Knock yourself out." Shun answered.
"Thanks you, Yugo, Kurosaki. I won't let you down!" Yuzu promised as she put on her helmet, got on her D-Wheel, and drove off.
"Alright! It looks like the first duel will kick off with Yuzu Hiragi and Tsukikage!" Melissa shouted as the two pulled up to the starting line.
"Alright Tsukikage, let's make the crowd smile!" Yuzu said with a smile.
"Let's do this, Yuzu. I'll show you the strength of my dueling!" Tsukikage yelled.
"Let's get this show on the road! Action Field On! Field Spell, Crossover Accel activate!" Melissa shouted as a sphere of cards bursted, causing them to spread all through out the track.
DUEL MODE: ON! AUTOPILOT, STAND BY!
At the same time, both duelist's duel disk blades activated and a holographic screen with a countdown starting at 3 appeared in front of the two riders.

As the match started, Yuzu panicked due to her nerves of crashing, causing the calm Tsukikage to get an easy lead and pass the first corner.
"It seems that Tsukikage is going first!" Melissa shouted.
"Though I was assigned to protect you in the past, I won't hold back now! My turn!" Tsukikage shouted as he drew. "I summon Twilight Ninja - Shingetsu!"
A ninja with blue and cyan colored clothing appeared that carried two cyan colored blades.
Twilight Ninja - Shingestu (1500/100) LVL: 4
"I activate the Continuous Spell, Illusion Ninjutsu - Hazy Shuriken! This card can only be on my field while I control a Ninja monster. With this card's effect, when a card or cards are added to my hand, I can send one of those cards to the graveyard to inflict 300 points of damage!" The ninja duelist explained as he approached an Action Card and swiftly picked it up. "I send this Action Card to the graveyard to inflict 300 points of damage to you!"
The red shurikens shot out of the card and damaged the Melodious user.

Tsukikage approached another Action Card towards ether side of the road. He quickly drove to the left and managed to grab the card. "I send another Action Card to the graveyard to deal you 300 more damage!"

"I set a card facedown, turn end!" Tsukikage concluded.
"Alright! It's time to show this dimension You Show Duel School's Dueling! My turn!" Yuzu declared as she drew.
"Yuzu..." Yuya said as he was reminded of his friends back home.
"While only my opponent controls a monster, I can summon Solo the Melodious Songstress!" Yuzu shouted as a women in a red outfit appeared.

And this card stays on my field as long as I control a Ninja monster! So I discard a card and Shingestu gains 1000 ATK!" Tsukikage shouted as his monster powered up.

"Now it's stronger than Shopina!" Yugo realized.
"Grr...!" Yuzu grunted as the ninja dodged the attack and slashed through the maestra.

"You want to show the power of your duel school...so I'll show you the power of the Fuma Clan! My turn! I activate the Spell Card, Ninjitsu Art of Hazy Duplication! I can special summon a level 4 or lower Ninja monster from my hand! I summon another Twilight Ninja - Shingestu!"

"Next, I release my second Shingestu to Advance Summon! Come, Level 6! Twilight Chunin Ninchirin!" Tsukikage shouted as a muscular ninja with golden armor, dark colored pants, and a red scarf appeared.

"This monster is treated as a Ninja monster while on the field! I'll show you the strength of my Ninjas! Battle! Ninchirin, attack Sonata!" Tsukikaga shouted as the ninja pulled out a golden blade and slashed through the diva.

"Go, Shingestu! Direct Attack!" The ninja user commanded as his monster jumped towards the defenseless girl.
"Continuous Trap, Call of the Living Dead activate! Revive, Shopina the Melodious Maestra!" Yuzu shouted as her monster returned, causing the ninja's attack to be called off.

"My turn! Shopina's effect activates! I add Sonata back to my hand! Next, I summon Soprana the Melodious Songstress!" Yuzu shouted as the red haired woman with blue clothing appeared.

"Amazing! Yuzu has shown that she is able to Fusion Summon! Do all of the girls of this generation know this method?" Melissa wondered as she thought about Serena, Masumi, and Yuzu.

"Battle! Bloom Prima, attack Twilight Ninja - Shingestu!" Yuzu commanded as Tsukikage grabbed another Action Card.
"Illusion Ninjitsu - Hazy Toad's effect activates! By discarding this Action Card I picked up, Shingetsu gains 1000 ATK!" Tsukikage shouted as his monster powered up.

"Go, Harmonic Sound Wave!" Yuzu exclaimed as her monster sang. A blue energy wave shot out of the flowers on the monster's shoulders that destroyed the ninja.

"Bloom Prime can attack twice per turn! Attack Ninchirin! Harmonic Sound Wave!" Yuzu shouted as her monster released another wave of energy.
"If this attack goes through, Tsukikage will not have any more Ninjas on his field! Meaning, his Spell and Trap will be destroyed, putting him in a huge disadvantage!" Melissa yelled.
"I won't let you!" Tsukikage shouted. The Ninja jumped off his D-Wheel in an instantand grabbed an Action Card high in the air before reappearing on his D-Wheel.
"What?! Jumping off your D-Wheel?!" Yuzu shouted in amazement.
"Action Spell, Selection of Miracle! I choose to protect Ninchirin!" Tsukikage countered.
"But you still take the damage!"

"I set a card facedown and end my turn!"Yuzu shouted.
"My turn, draw! I activate Pot of Greed! I draw 2! This card in my hand can be summoned by releasing 1 Ninja monster on my field and Ninchirin is treated as a Ninja! I release Twilight Chunin - Ninchirin for an Advance Summon!" Tsukikage exclaimed as his monster dissolved into particles.
"Go, Tsukikage!" Dennis cheered.
"You'll know the true strength of the long standing Fuma Clan! Come forth! Level 8! Twilight Ninja Shogun - Getsuga!" Tsukikage yelled as a large ninja with a green cape and dark armor appeared. The ninja had two green and yellow flags protruding from it's back and he carried a spear-like weapon.

"Wow! Tsukikage managed to summon an even bigger Ninja! But it still isn't stronger than Yuzu's monster!" Melissa commented.
"I activate the Spell Card, Ninjistu Art of Inherited Power! By banishing a Ninja in my graveyard, Getsuga gains half of it's ATK until the end of the Battle Phase! I banish the 2300 ATK Ninchirin and Getsuga gains 1150 ATK!" Tsukikage shouted as the spirit of his monster was absorbed into the ninja.

"N-No way!" Yuzu uttered.
"Battle! Getsuga, attack Bloom Prima the Melodious Floral Saint! Shogun Slash!" Tsukikage shouted as his monster jumped high in the air and slashed down on the Fusion Monster.
"Ghh...!" Yuzu grunted.

"Trap Activate! Fusion Revenge Draw! When a Fusion Monsyer is destroyed, I draw a card for each of it's Fusion Materials! I draw 3 cards!" Yuzu shouted as she drew. But, she looked up and saw Tsukikage jump off his D-Wheel and grabbed another Action Card high in the air.
"I send this Action Card to the graveyard to deal you 300 more damage!"

"Now, Getsuga's ATK returns to normal. My turn isn't over yet! Getsuga's effect activates! By switching this card to Defense Position, I can summon 2 Ninja monsters from my graveyard! Return to the shogun, two copies of Twilight Ninja Shingestu!" Tsukikage shouted as his two Ninjas returned.

"Shingestu's effect prevents you from attacking any other Ninja monster besides this card! But since there are two copies of Shingestu on the field, this creates aa attack lock!" Tsukikage explained.
"Not good..." Yuzu said with a worried tone.
"With this move, Yuzu won't be able to attack any of Tsukikage's monsters! Is this the end for her!" Melissa shouted as the crowd cheered.
"Turn end!" Tsukikage concluded.
"C'mon Yuzu! Don't give up! You can do this!" Yugo cheered.
"Right...I can't give up! I have to get hot blooded!" Yuzu shouted as she thought about her dad's words.
"Show me your strength! My Fuma Clan dueling will defend anything!" Tsukikage shouted.
'Yuya is watching...I need to remind him of what we are fighting for...I'll showhim right now!' Yuzu thought to herself as she smiled and pointed to the sky. "Ladies and Gentleman! The fun...has just begun!"
"Yuzu...!" Yuya smiled as Yuzu said his catch phrase. It was as if she was conveying a message to him through her dueling.
"My turn...Draw!" Yuzu shouted as she drew her card, creating a pink arc of light.
"It's time to show off the true potential of my Melodious monsters! With the Scale 2 Tempo the Melodious Diva and Scale 9 Metronome the Melodious Diva, I set the Pendulum Zone!" Yuzu shouted as a two monsters rose in the blue columns. The lower scale monster was a pink haired female with a white dress and she carried a sheet of music while the higher scale was a blonde short haired female with a turquoise skirt and black leggings and she carried a metronome with her.

"Yuzu's Pendulums are here!" Yugo cheered.
"With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters with levels 2 through 8! Swing Pendulum of Harmony! Draw an arc of beauty and peace across the heavens! Pendulum Summon! Come from the heavens, my monsters! Viva the Melodious Songstress! Opera the Melodious Diva! Enchanting melody echoing in the heavens! Awaken the sleeping virtuoso! Come forth, Prodigy Mozart the Melodious Maestra! Yuzu shouted as her ace appeared alongside two other Melodious monsters.

"Amazing..." Yuya uttered.
"I'll admit, her Pendulum Summoning skills are good. But they aren't as good as mine." Sawatari boasted.
"Vivia's effect activates! By releasing Melodious monsters on my field, I can destroy Spell or Traps on your field up to the amount of monsters released! I release Vivia and Opera to destroy Illusion Ninjistu - Hazy Shuriken and Hazy Toad!" Yuzu shouted as the two monsters sang in unison. They bursted into a light that shot forward and destroyed the two cards.
"Tch...Impressive, but you still can't attack!" Tsukikage shouted.
"We'll see about that! I activate the Spell Card, Paralyzing Melody! While I control 2 or more Melodious monsters, I can target a monster on your field and negate it's effects! I target the first Shingestu!" Yuzu shouted as her monsters sang together, causing a wave of music to paralyze the ninja.
"That means the attack lock is no more!" Serena realized.
"Alright! I overlay my level 4 Soprano and Solo!" Yuzu shouted as her two monsters turned into yellow energy that flew into the overlay network.
"An Xyz Summon...!" Tsukikage said with a worried tone.
"Beautiful and elegant floral diva, conduct the song of hope and prosperity and guide the concert with your baton! Xyz Summon! Now come to the stage! Rank 4! Bloom Lorin the Melodious Floral Conductor!" Yuzu shouted as her Xyz monster appeared. She had long blonde hair and had a purple and blue dress with pink flowers. She carried a black baton.

There are 2 on my field and 6 in my graveyard! Shingestu loses 4000 ATK!" Yuzu shouted. Her monster turned around and began conducting Mozart along with the spirits of the fallen monsters, causing them to release a wave of music that greatly weakened the ninja.

"Battle! Bloom Lorin, attack the weakened Twilight Ninja - Shingestu! Virtuoso Stream!" Yuzu shouted as her monster shot a blue blast from the tip of it's baton. The blast shot through the center of the monster, causing a shockwave that shook Tsukikage's D-Wheel.

"Go, Prodigy Mozart! Attack the other Twilight Ninja - Shingestu! Graceful Wave!" Yuzu shouted as her monster shot a powerful wave of music at the ninja.
"I won't lose!" Tsukikage's shouted as he jumped off his D-Wheel and grabbed an Action Card. "Action Spell, Damage Banish! The damage is reduced to 0!"
"Paralyzing Music's effect in the graveyard! By banishing this card, I can negate the activation of a Spell or Trap that was activated during a battle involving a level 5 or higher Melodious monster!"
"What?!" Tsukikage shouted as his Spell bursted.

"If this next attack hits, Shun Kurosaki is done for!" Melissa yelled.

"He's anticipating Kurosaki's moves perfectly. I had no idea Dennis was this strong..." Masumi trailed off.
"Sorry, Kurosaki. But you didn't want me to hold back! This is my full strength!" Dennis shouted with a determined look.
"That's bullshit!" Shun yelledback.
"Alright everyone! Watch as my cast of Entermages wipe out my opponent's monsters and life points!" Dennis said, regaining his cheerful expression.

"I...will expose your true colors with this! Continuous Trap, Raid Raptors - Target Flag! With it's effect, I target your Trapeze High Magician!" Shun shouted as the Raid Raptors symbol appeared on the magician's face.
"What is this?" Dennis asked.
"Now I draw a card!" Shun yelled as he drew. "The card I drew was a monster card, Raid Raptors - Last Strix! Since the card I drew was a monster card, when the targeted monster is destroyed, Target Flag is destroyed and I can check your hand! And if there are any monster cards in your hand, they are sent to the graveyard!"
"What?! You're going to check my hand?!" Dennis shouted as he nervously looked at the Fusion card in his hand.
"All I have to do is destroy your Trapeze Magician and your true colors will be revealed! Your own ace monster will be your undoing!" Shun shouted as Dennis gained a serious expression.

"And since it only has 100 ATK, Kurosaki won't take damage!" Sawatari realized.
"I'm ending this duel right now! Rise Falcon's effect activates! By using an overlay unit, Rise Falcon gains the combined ATK of all the special summoned monsters on your field!" Shun shouted energy shot out of Dennis' monsters. The energy was absorbed by Shun's ace, causing it to gain a fiery aura.

"On top of Xyz summoning a monster from the graveyard, Shun Kurosaki managed to get his Xyz monster up to 1-10400!" Melissa yelled as the crowd roared in excitement.
"N-No way..." Dennis uttered.

Shun roared as his monsters covered in shinning energy flew through all of Dennis' monsters, causing a huge explosion.
"I'm not done yet! By banishing Show Stopping Shield in my graveyard, I can reduce any battle damage I would take involving an Entermage monster to 0!" Dennis yelled as a barrier protect him.
"It's finally time! Since Trapeze Magician was destroyed, Target Flag is sent to the graveyard and your hand is revealed! Now...show us who you really are you damn spy!" Shun furiously shouted at his opponent.
Dennis' eyes widened in disbelief before looking down. He picked his card off of his hand holder.
"Is this...what you wanted to see?" Dennis said with a monotone voice as he revealed the Fusion Spell Card in his hand.
"A Fusion card?! Why the hell does Dennis have that?!" Sawatari shouted.
"Why would he hide that...wait...could he be...?!" Roy trailed off in a sad tone.
"N-No way..." Gongenzaka uttered.
"Is he...?" Masumi trailed off in horror.
"...A spy from Academia...!" Yuto uttered as his eyes widened and his fist tightened. He was suspicious, but to have it confirmed was frightening.
"Dennis...how could he...be from Academia...?!" Yuya struggled to say as he clenched his fist.
"So when Shun was talking about a spy..." Yugo began.
"...He was talking about Dennis...!" Yuzu realized with a horrified tone.
"Impossible...there's no way...!" Yaiba said in disbelief.
"I knew it!" Shun shouted.
"So you finally found out? You really are good at exposing us Academia agents, aren't you?" Dennis asked.
"For everything you have done, I'm ending you right now! Go, Arsenal Falcon! Direct attack-!"
"Oh no you don't!" Dennis shouted as his Continuous Spell began to glow red.
"What?!" Shun shouted.
"Deadly Trick's final effect activates! If I no longer control monsters on the field, this card is destroyed! Then, you take damage equal to the amount of Entermages Xyz monsters times 100! Since there are 5, you take 500 points of damage!" Dennis shouted as a burst of fire shot out of the card. Shun put his left arm up to block his face, causing the fire to burn his arm.

"Ghh..." Shun grunted as he clutched his left arm.
"Also, during the turn this card leaves the field, I take no damage during the rest of the turn!" Dennis shouted.
"I set two cards facedown...turn end!" Shun yelled, fighting through the pain.
"I have worked so hard to gain everyone's trust as a Lancer and you just threw all of my hard work away. So I'll pay you back by allowing you to experience...My Ultimate Entertainment!" Dennis yelled as his entire demeanor changed to cold and serious. His eyes that were normally filled with joy turned into pure determination to crush his opponent.
"Wow...Dennis sure has just changed...but he's just acting...like in the park when he played the villain role...right?" Melissa said with a nervous tone.
"Wow! This is getting good!"
"I can feel the intensity! Amazing!"
"So epic! Go!"
"My turn...draw!" Dennis yelled with a serious tone as he drew. He looked at the card and closed his eyes and sighed before glaring at his opponent. "I activate the Spell Card...Antique Gear Chaos Fusion!"
"Antique Gear?!" Shun shouted as he remembered the archetype of monsters that were used to destroy his home.
"By sending this Fusion Spell Card from my hand to the graveyard..." Dennis started as he discarded the Spell Card. "...I can banish monsters in my graveyard that originated from the Extra Deck to special summon the same amount of monsters from my Deck and Extra Deck that are Fusion materials of an Antique Gear Fusion Monster ignoring summoning conditions! I banish my 3 Entermage Shadow Makers and Entermage Trapeze Magician...to summon these 4 monsters from my hand!"
As his Xyz monsters were banished, Dennis' Extra Deck slot opened up as he grabbed 3 cards from it before grabbing a card that popped out of his deck.
Dennis' smile contorted into a mad man's smile as he slammed the cards on his duel disk.
"Come, Antique Gear Hound Dog! Antique Gear Double Bite Hound Dog! Antique Gear Triple Bite Hound Dog! Antique Gear Ultimate Hound Dog!" Dennis shouted as the four Hound Dogs appeared on his field.

"The summoned monsters have their effects negated. Now, I fuse together all 4 of the Antique Gear Hounds to create the ultimate weapon of Academia!" Dennis yelled as the 4 hounds began to swirl in the Fusion vortex.
"Oh no...!" Serena said with a horrified look as she realized the monster that was about to be summoned.
"Mechanized hound dogs that inherit the ancient soul! Merge those ten heads, unleash chaos, and become tremendous strength! FUSION SUMMON! Come forth! Level 10! Antique Gear Chaos Giant!" Dennis shouted as as a flash of light covered the field. As the light dispersed everyone looked above Dennis in a mix of awe and terror. A gigantic mech with dark blue armor that resembled the Hound Dogs in shape.

"Woah! That's the biggest duel monster I've seen in my entire career of commentating!" Melissa shouted.
"Awesome! Totally awesome!"
"That's the biggest monster ever!"

"They are cheering for...an Academia monster...!" Yuya uttered as his rage from Dennis and the crowd began to bottle up.
"That monster...!" Yuto gritted his teeth in anger at the sight of the monster.
"How do you like this monster, Kurosaki?" Dennis taunted.
"Damn you...I won't let you get away with this! Continuous Trap, Raid Raptors - Lock Chain! Once per turn, I can change the battle position of an opponent's special summoned monster! I switch Chaos Giant to Defense mode!" Shun yelled as chains appeared around the huge Fusion monster.
"That won't do anything! Chaos Giant is unaffected by the effects of Spells and Traps!" Dennis countered as the monster broke through the chains.
"Incredible!"
"Amazing!"
"Doesn't this monsters bring back so many memories of your home being destroyed?" Dennis asked, making Shun grit his teeth. "Oh, that's reminds me. Speaking of memories, I remembered something I've been dying to tell you for so long."
"What are you on about?!" Shun questioned.
"It's about...what's her name...oh right...Ruri!" Dennis smiled causing Shun's eyes to widen.
"Kurosaki's sister?!" Yuzu said, confused about why Dennis would bring her up.
"RURI?! Why did you say her name?! What do you know?!" Shun demanded to know.
"Ruri?!" Yuto's eyes widened as he heard the name.
"Oh I'll tell you..." Dennis began before telling the story.
A Few Days Before Invasion of Academia
Dennis was in front of a crowd of people. He was performing a magic show outside the school that his targeted attended. If he played his cards right, there was a good chance she would show up to watch.
Dennis was performing a card trick as he scanned the crowd for his target. His eyes widened as he saw a certain dark purple haired girl in a cream colored outfit.
'Bingo!' Dennis thought to himself as he saw the girl. Now it was time for the next part of his plan. It was time to gain her trust.
"Alright everyone! For my next act! I will be needing a volunteer to duel me!" Dennis told the audiences who all raised their hands.
"Pick me!"
"I want to duel!"
"Now it wouldn't be fair if I chose, so I'll let my monster choose my opponent instead! Come on out, Trapeze Magician!" Dennis yelled as he placed the card on his activated duel disk.
His magician swung forward and grabbed the purple haired girl, bringing her to the stage.
"Hello! What's your name?" Dennis asked the surprised girl.
"R-Ruri. It's nice to meet you..." Ruri shyly said.
"It's nice to meet you too, Ruri! Let's give Ruri some applause everyone!" Dennis enthusiastically said as the crowd cheered for the girl.
"Wow...thank you...!" Ruri said, feeling a bit more comfortable.
"So, are you ready to perform a spectacular Entertainment Duel!" Dennis asked the girl.
"To be honest, I didn't expect to be picked." Ruri admitted.
"There's no need to be nervous! This will be a fun duel, no matter the outcome! Don't you want to make all these people smile?" Dennis asked as Ruri turned to the crowd of people.
"Yeah, I do. Let's have a fun duel!" Ruri said with a more confident tone as she activated her duel disk
"DUEL!"
"You knew Ruri?!" Shun questioned.
"Yup. Though, I really didn't want to find her so soon. I was having fun performing all of those shows. But sadly, since I found Ruri, all of the fun and games were over. I really wanted to do more shows...but because I had found her...I had to send the starting signal for the invasion." Dennis said, shocking Shun and Yuto.
"He did...WHAT?!" Yuto angrily shouted in shock.
Sometime After the Invasion Started
Dennis was standing on top of a piece of rubble, waiting for the person sent to kidnap Ruri.
"No where is-?"
Suddenly, a purple portal opened behind him and a pink eyed boy whose entire body was covered in cloak jumped out.
"I've been waiting for you, Yuri." Dennis greeted.
"Where's the girl?" Yuri asked, getting right to business.
"Over there." Dennis said as he pointed behind the two at a semi-broken down stadium.
"Is that a refugee camp?" Yuri asked.
"Pretty much. It's one the resistance's main bases. She's right inside." Dennis said leading him to the stadium.
Dennis and the cloaked Yuri made their way through the rubble and went into the base, searching for their prey.
Dennis looked and saw Ruri helping a young mother and her daughter settle in after being saved and brought to the base by her brother and his friends.
"That's her...the girl with the bracelet." Dennis said.
"She really does look like...Serena." Yuri said under his breath.
"She's a nice girl...it's too bad we have to do this." Dennis said with a sigh.
"You aren't having second thoughts, are you?" Yuri asked with a somewhat menacing tone.
"Not at all. I just pity her, that's all." Dennis said.
"Let's get this over with so we can get back to Academia." Yuri said.
"Right." Dennis said before turning to Ruri's direction and walking over with the cloaked Yuri. She spotted the two and began to walk over.
"Hey, Dennis!" Ruri waved as she walked over.
"The rest is up to you. I can't be the one to lay a finer on her since I may be required to spy on the resistance once more if the Professor wants me to." Dennis whispered as the girl walked over.
"Right. This will be fun." Yuri said.
"Hi Ruri. My friend here needs a bit of help settling in. Can you help him while I go help the others?" Dennis asked.
"Of course. I would love to help." Ruri warmly smiled.
"Perfect~." Yuri sneered.
Not That Long After
Ruri was now running for her life through the streets of Heartland. She was being chased by the cloaked boy down an alleyway that came to an dead end.
She turned around with a nervous expression as Yuri smirked at his success.
"You are coming with me, Ruri." Yuri said.
"No...I won't go down without a fight!" Ruri said, strengthening her resolve as she activated her duel disk.
"You want a duel? Interesting! Very interesting!" Yuri grinned as he activated his duel disk. "But when I win, you are coming to Academia with me."
"I'll win...so I can see brother and Yuto again!" Ruri said with a determined tone.
"DUEL!"
"Y-You...bastard...how dare you...HOW DARE YOU?!" Shun shouted with an enraged tone.
"Yuto?! Are you ok?!" Masumi asked as Yuto stared at the screen in disbelief. His face paled and his eyes widened. He couldn't make a sound.
"At least now you will die knowing what happened to your sister! Battle! Antique Gear Chaos Giant, attack Rise Falcon! Go, Chaos Gear Crusher!" Dennis shouted. The monster swung it's arm forward at the falcon, causing it to flying up and dodge the attack. This allowed the Fusion to grab the falcon with it's other hand. Chaos Giant squeezed the Xyz monster causing it to cry out in pain.
"It's toying with it's prey..." Yuzu uttered in horror.
"Tch, Trap Activate! Raid Raptors - Readiness! I can reduce in an instance of damage to 0!" Shun countered as a barrier formed around him. Chaos Giant threw the Xyz monster to the ground before crushing it with it's foot, causing a shockwave that hit the barrier.
"No matter! Chaos Giant can attack all of your monsters once each! With this next attack, you'll take exactly 2000 damage and lose!" Dennis shouted with a grin.
"Kurosaki...!" Yugo trailed off with a worried look. Though he wanted a chance to duel, he really didn't want his teammate to get hurt.
"This is the end! Go, Chaos Giant! Attack Arsenal Falcon and end this duel! CHAOS GEAR CRUSHER!" Dennis yelled as his monster swung at the Xyz monster. The falcon tried maneuvering around the attack but was slapped away. The falcon crashed into the wall of the track and was unable to move.
"KUROSAKI! DON'T LOSE!" Yugo and Yuzu shouted out.
"HAHAHA! IT'S OVER! GO!" Dennis screamed as the monster used it's mouth-like cannon on it's chest to fire a blast that incinerated the falcon, causing a huge explosion.
"SHUN!" Yuto shouted in fear, breaking his silence.
"I...can't...LOSE TO ACADEMIA! Raid Raptors - Last Strix's effect in my hand activates! When I would take damage, I can reduce the damage by 100 for each Spell or Trap on the field! I have Raid Raptors - Lock Chain so the damage is reduced by 100!" Shun shouted as his monster appeared while a faint barrier appeared.
"BUT YOU STILL TAKE 1900 DAMAGE!" Dennis exclaimed as the flames shattered the barrier and knocked Shun and his D-Wheel through the air.
"GRAAAAHH!"

"He's going to crash!" Yuzu gasped.
"I can't die...for my friends...for Ruri...FOR RURI!" Shun angrily yelled as he tightened his grip on his D-Wheel and safely landed it on the ground.
"That was close...!" Melissa sighed in relief.
"WOOHOO!"
"AMAZING!"
"AWESOME!"
"Due to it's effect...Last Strix is summoned to my field." Shun said as the small armored bird appeared.

"So you survived...you certainly are a lot more tenacious then the rest of the Xyz residents. But my Chaos Giant can still attack your remaining monster. Go!" Dennis commanded as the Fusion slightly tapped the bird, destroying it.
"Yugo you might have to face that thing..." Yuzu looked over to her teammate who had his eyes locked on the duel.
"No...I believe in Kurosaki..." Yugo said.
"I end my turn! It's your turn now, Kurosaki!" Dennis shouted as the injured Xyz user. "Aww, what's wrong? I wonder what hurts more, the fact that you couldn't save your sister from being captured, or the fact that you have failed your mission of saving your sister since you are about to become a card?"
"That bastard!" Yuya angrily yelled.
"You spied on my dimension...you green lighted the invasion...you infiltrated the Lancers...but most importantly..." Shun spoke while looking down. As he thought about the most important person in his life, he heard her voice from one of his memories.
"Just wait, one day I'll be able to beat you without you holding back against me. I promise, big brother!" The voice of his sister faded away, causing Shun to look up in anger at his opponent.
"...YOU TOOK AWAY MY RURI! YOU'LL DIE FOR THAT! MY TURN...DRAW!" Shun roared at the top of his lungs as he violently drew his card.
"Oh, someone is angry. Too bad you can't do anything against me!" Dennis yelled.
Shun looked at the card he drew and then glared at his opponent with rage in his eyes. "I WILL AVENGE MY SISTER! I activate the Quick Play Spell Card, Rank Up Magic Death Double Force! I can target an Xyz monster destroyed by battle and special summon it! Come back, Raid Raptors - Rise Falcon!"

"Then I can rank up Rise Falcon to a Raid Raptors Xyz monster that is double it's rank!" Shun yelled as his monster turned into dark energy that rapidly flew into the overlay network.
"What a powerful Rank Up Spell!" Melissa commented.
"Dauntless falcon! Swirl up a raging inferno and become the flash of light that sears the land to ash! RANK UP XYZ CHANGE! Soar! Rank 8! Raid Raptors - Satellite Cannon Falcon!" Shun roared as a bright flash shot out of the overlay network. A huge mechanized falcon covered in white armor appeared. The falcon had red armor along it's oversized wings and head. It's wings and body had multiple energy cannons protruding from them. The falcon had green orbs along it's armor, the red Raid Raptors symbol on it's armor, and glowing red eyes. The falcon flew above Shun with a loud cry.

"Amazing...!" Yuzu uttered in awe.
"Alright!" Yugo cheered.
"That monster looks awesome!"

"I'll admit, that was an impressive move. Overcoming the odds to bring out that monster. But there is nothing else you can do!" Dennis shouted but Shun ignored him.
"Satellite Cannon Falcon's effect activates! By using an overlay unit, a monster monster on my opponent's field lose 800 ATK!" Shun shouted as the falcon's cannons positioned themselves forward and pointed at the Ancient Gear monster.
"Only 800? Chaos Giant will still have 3700 ATK left which is way more than your monster's puny 3000 ATK! YOU'VE LOST!" Dennis yelled with a grin.
"That's wrong...BECAUSE THIS EFFECT CAN BE USED UP TO THE AMOUNT OF RAID RAPTORS IN MY GRAVEYARD!" Shun shouted.
"WHAT?!"
"There are a total of 13 Raid Raptors monsters in my graveyard...SO I CAN USE THIS EFFECT UP TO 13 TIMES!" Shun exclaimed causing Dennis to look in shock and horror.
"N-No...Impossible..." Dennis uttered.
"LET'S GO! THE FIRST!" Shun yelled as his monster shot multiple shinning green blasts at the fusion from it's cannons

"BATTLE! Satellite Cannon Falcon, attack Ancient Gear Chaos Giant!" Shun commanded as his monster Megan to fly up and away.
"W-Where's it going?" Yugo asked.
"Satellite Cannon Falcon steadily ascends! It climbs in and on to greater heights! Through the clouds and the stratosphere!"
His falcon soared higher and higher into the sky until it reached above the atmosphere. The falcon pointed downwards towards the Fusion that was now standing weakly on the ground of the track.
The monster's wings opened up and a blazing Raid Raptor symbol bursted out behind the monster.
"Bear the feelings of the hunted and shatter!"
The falcon's body began to be outlined in a green color as it charged it's attack.
"This is for my home...for all of the people that were hunted...for my friends that have fallen...for my friends that are still fighting...AND FOR RURI! FIRE NOW, ETERNAL AVENGE!"
The falcon fired multiple blasts that combined into a singular humongous shinning green blast that rocketed down at the earth.
"...You win...Kurosaki...!" Dennis looked down and said.
The blast launched downwards at the track and obliterated the Ancient Gear Fusion monster, causing a massive explosion that consumed the track and sent Dennis flying off his D-Wheel.
"GAAAAAAAH!"

WINNER: TEAM WINGS OF VICTORY!
"...The match is over...Shun Kurosaki has won the match for Team Wings of Victory...!" Melissa nervously shouted as the crowd went wild.
Dennis laid flat on the ground in a large crater that the last attack caused.
"Geez. What are we suppose to do with this mess?!" Melissa said as she looked at the crumbled track that was almost completely destroyed from the past battles, especially the last one.
Shun silently got off of his D-Wheel and took his cracked helmet off. He walked over to the unconscious spy and menacingly stood over him.
"You took my sister from me...and for that you will pay! I'll singlehandedly destroy all of Academia! Now prepare to be a card!" Shun shouted as he raised his duel disk up and pressed the button to card Dennis...but nothing happened. "What?! Why didn't it work!"
Shun pressed the button again but nothing happened.
"Damn it! But how...!" Shun uttered as he then realized what happened. "Reiji...when he altered my duel disk...he took out the carding function...!"
Shun angrily looked down at Dennis and cracked his knuckles.
"Fine. I guess I'll have to kill you with my bare hands!" Shun angrily shouted as he went to grab the unconscious spy.
"Stop it!" Yuzu shouted as she ran out on the track.
Shun looked back at the pink haired girl, but his eyes widened as he saw his sister instead.
"The fight is over! No one else needs to get hurt!" Yuzu shouted but Shun could only hear and see his saddened sister pleading him to stop.
"Ruri...I'm sorry..." Shun uttered as he began to faint from the pain that was inflicted upon him during the duel. He then fell into Yuzu's arms, who held him up to the best of her abilities before Yugo ran over and helped.
"Interesting...achieve Dennis Macfield immediately." Roget said into the comms.
A medical team arrived and placed Shun and Dennis on stretchers that were carried away in different directions.
"Your teammate has only suffered from some burns and exhaustion. We will return him to your room once he is patched up and medically cleared." A medic told Yugo and Yuzu before they were escorted back to their room.
Yuzu looked over and saw a saddened Yaiba and Tsukikage that were being taken away to be sent underground. Yugo saw the saddened girl and put her hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry, Yuzu. Remember that anyone being sent underground isn't your fault. It's this screwed up city's fault. And besides, Yaiba and Tsukikage are fighters, so they'll surely be ok." Yugo comforted the girl who felt a bit better.
"Thanks, Yugo." Yuzu said as they walked into the tunnel.
With Yuri and Sora
Yuri and Sora were standing at the top of the stadium, observing the past duel.
"That was an interesting duel. I didn't expect Dennis to use Chaos Giant. I was almost impressed. And that guy that beat him, he looks like fun. I can see how you lost to him, partner." Yuri smiled at the blue haired boy.
"Don't remind me...!" Sora grunted.
"Anyways, you know what we have to do know..." Yuri sighed.
"Wait. I'll go retrieve Dennis by myself. You stay here." Sora said.
"Why? I thought we were suppose to work together?" Yuri asked.
"I know..." Sora said, trying to think of something to say to the purple haired boy. "...but I still feel like I failed Academia by losing to that Xyz trash. I need to do something in return."
"I see...it's a pride thing. In that case, I won't stop you. Just don't try pulling anything, or you'll regret it." Yuri said with a sinister look.
"R-Right..." Sora nodded.
"Have fun~! Don't keep me waiting for too long." Yuri waved as Sora jumped down and ran off.

"I can't believe it...we trusted Dennis...and he betrayed us...!" Hokuto said in a dejected tone.
"In the underground, he seemed like he truly loved entertainment dueling like Yuya and I..." Sawatari trailed off.
"To think I teamed up with that guy in that street performance...he literally foreshadowed himself being a villain masked as a hero...damn it...!" Roy said in a disappointed tone.
"Hey...we can't let this stop us! We are Team Magnetic Stars! If we dwell in the past, there's no way we'll win this tournament!" Sawatari shouted.
"Yeah, I guess you right." Roy said with a faint smile.
"And we'll make Dennis and all those Academia guys pay after we win the tournament!" Hokuto confidently yelled.
"That's the spirit!" Sawatari smirked.
With Yuya and Reiji
"Dennis...damn it!" Yuya shouted in anger.
"Having a spy amongst your group? That doesn't look good for you, Reiji." Gael said.
Reiji looked at Yuya, knowing the boy would be angered by his next words.
"I...had reason to believe there was a spy in the Lancers from the start." Reiji said.
"What?!" Yuya shouted in shock and anger.
"You did? Why wouldn't you act on that sooner?" Gray asked.
"I needed to try and find out Academia's motives by observing Dennis Macfield. And he revealed quite the amount of information." Reiji explained.
"Such as?" Azul asked.
"Dennis' primary objective was to keep an eye on Yuzu Hiragi and Serena." Reiji said.
"Those girls...what is special about them?" Bordeaux asked.
"We don't know for sure yet. But the pieces are starting to come together." Reiji explained.
"I see...how interesting." White Taki said.
"You knew he was a spy...and you didn't act on it...!" Yuya looked down and grunted.
"May we exit the room for a moment? We need to talk in private." Reiji asked.
"Yes, you may." White Taki nodded as he motioned the guards to open the door.
Reiji took Yuya's arm and walked out of the large room into the hall as Reira followed the two. The guards then left the three alone.
"Yuya, I know you are upset." Reiji said to the angered boy.
"I...am more than upset!" Yuya angrily glared at Reiji and shouted. "Dennis is a god damn spy, the people in this dimension primarily enjoy violent dueling, Yaiba and Tsukikage are the first Lancers to be sent underground, and you knew Dennis was a spy for Academia but didn't do anything! Dennis could have attempted to kidnap Yuzu or Serena at anytime! And you just let him do whatever he wanted!"
"I would have intervened if he attempted to capture one of them. Deep down, you know that." Reiji calmly said.
"Do I know that? Because your past decisions prove otherwise! You separated Shun and Yuto, you let us fight the Obelisk Force without warning during the Battle Royal, and you lied about Yuzu, Yuto, and Yugo getting carded to push me past my limit!" Yuya angrily shouted.
"Everything I have done is to prevent Academia from taking over the dimensions. If you weren't constantly clouded by your emotions, you would see that." Reiji said making Yuya's eyes twitch.
"What did you say?!" Yuya asked.
"You have constantly been swaying between dueling to entertain and dueling for real. That almost cost you in your last match against Frost. You are clouded by the philosophy of your father." Reiji said, infuriating Yuya.
"How dare you?! My father's dueling brought smiles to everyone! The audience always had fun watching his duels! I don't want to have resort to violent dueling whenever I'm in trouble!" Yuya shouted.
"Remember our duel back in standard? Remember how I pushed you to your very limits and you dueled like you had nothing to lose? That's what it will take to win against Academia! Yuto and Yugo would agree with me and you know that." Reiji explained.
Yuya thought to himself and realized that Yuto and Yugo knew what had to be done in order to win against Academia.
"But I still want to make everyone smile with my dueling..." Yuya said with a sad tone.
"You can try and make these people smile, but that won't be the case for Academia." Reiji sternly said to the now calmed Yuya.
"I know, but I can still-GAH!" Yuya gasped in pain as he fell to the ground. He felt a surge of rage consume him, but it wasn't his rage.
With Team Blades of Bravery
"Y-Yuto...?!" Gongenzaka motioned to touch the unmoving Yuto whose face was covered in darkness.
"H-He...is the reason...why Ruri...was taken...he took advantage of her kindness...and turned her over...!" Yuto uttered. As Gongenzaka went to comfort Yuto, a blue spark shocked his hand.
"Yuto, it's ok..." Masumi tried to calm the boy down.
"No it isn't...I loved her...and she was taken away from me...because of him...she is gone...I WILL KILL HIM!" Yuto looked up with dark blue eyes.
"Calm down, Yuto!" Gongenzaka shouted.
With Team Wings of Victory
As Yuzu and Yugo were walking through the tunnel, Yugo felt a sudden sharp pain in his chest. He clenched his chest as he felt an overwhelming sense of rage and his eyes glowed a cyan color.
"GAH!" Yugo growled as he clenched his chest harder and fell to his knees.
"Yugo!" Yuzu shouted in concern as she knelt down.
"Yuto...his anger..I feel it...!" Yugo grunted as his eyes glowed.
With Yuri
"This feeling...this rage...GAH!" Yuri yelled ashis eyes glowed purple and he clutched his chest. It was just like before when he dueled his Xyz look a like.
With Yuya and Reiji
"GAH!" Yuya shouted in pain as his eyes glowed red and his hair slightly moved upwards.
"Yuya! You need to control yourself!" Reiji shouted.
"It's not my anger...it's Yuto's...!" Yuya said as he grasped his chest while trying to remain in control of his actions.
"The darkness...!" Reira uttered as he sensed a strong dark presence consuming Yuya.
With Team Blades of Bravery
"I WILL DESTROY HIM! I WILL DESTROY ACADEMIA! I WILL DESTROY ANYONE WHO GETS IN MY WAY! LET ME OUT!" Yuto roared as he punched the door over and over again, causing his knuckles to bleed. But it didn't matter to him. He couldn't feel the pain. All he could feel was hatred and vengeance.
"Yuto...please stop!" Masumi yelled. She tried getting closer to Yuto, but it was almost like a dark pressure prevented her and Gongenzaka from getting closer to him.
"Yuto...STOP BEING SO SELFISH!" Gongenzaka yelled, getting Yuto's attention.
"...what?!" Yuto whipped his head around and glared at the muscular teen with his glowing blue eyes. He then began slowly walking towards Gongenzaka while not breaking eye contact.
"If Ruri is half of the kind and selfless person you say she is, then she wouldn't want to be the cause of your anger. She wouldn't want you to use her being gone to vent your rage!" Gongenzaka said causing Yuto to stop in his tracks.
His eyes widened as he regained his silver eyes and fell to his knees.
"I just...want her back..." Yuto said in a sad tone as a tear shed from his eye.
"I'm not going to pretend to know what you are going through, but I do know that you can still save her. You can't beat your self up for how she was taken." Gongenzaka said as he touched Yuto's shoulder.
"And you aren't alone. We all are here for you and we will help you get her back." Masumi smiled at the boy.
"You're right...I'm sorry for how I acted...but I need to save her soon...if only this damn tournament would end..." Yuto said looking down. That's why he was going to win this tournament as soon as he could. And then he was heading straight for Academia, with or without his friends...
With Team Wings of Victory
"Yugo?! Are you ok?!" Yuzu yelled at the boy.
"Yeah...I just got a major headache...but I'll manage." Yugo said as he got up.
"Good...I hope Yuto and Yuya are ok..." Yuzu said with a worried tone.
"Don't worry. Me not going berserk means that they aren't either." Yugo said.
"I hope so...I hoped my duel helped Yuya...although I bet that was overshadowed by Dennis being a spy." Yuzu said with a sigh.
"I'm sure Yuya is fine. He has people looking out for him like Crow. And Serena too." Yugo said.
"Lucky her..." Yuzu pouted.
"You're jealous of her, aren't you?" Yugo smirked causing Yuzu to blush.
"W-WHAT?!" Yuzu stuttered.
"You probably wish you could be on Yuya's team so you could stay in his room and smooch each other like at Crow's house." Yugo teased making the pink haired girl blush harder.
"S-Shut up!" Yuzu shouted before summoning her signature fan. She then proceeded to slap Yugo a few times.
"Oww! Where do you even keep that thing?!" Yugo questioned before being slapped again.
"Apologize!" Yuzu demanded.
"Ok! I'm sorry!" Yugo apologized.
"Good. Now, if you even mention anything like that ever again, I will not give you mercy." Yuzu said as the two walked back to their room.
"Alright..." Yugo pouted as he walked beside her.
With Yuya and Reiji
"Ugh...my head..." Yuya uttered as he looked up and saw a relieved Reiji and Reira.
"...The darkness...is gone...for now." Reira quietly said.
"Are you alright?" Reiji asked as he extended his hand out to the boy.
"...Yeah." Yuya said. He hesitated at first but grabbed the older teen's hand and was helped up.
"Good. Because the time has come." Reiji said as he pulled up a screen on his duel disk that looked like a camera feed.
"Did you...hack the security cameras?" Yuya asked with a surprised tone.
"Something like that." Reiji answered.
"Why am I not surprised?" Yuya sighed.
"Look." Reiji said as he pointed at the screen. It showed Dennis being carried on a stretcher by men that worked for Roget.
"Those guys are taking Dennis..." Yuya said.
Reiji than went to a different screen that showed Security guarding the hallway Dennis was being carried away in.
A blue blur suddenly appeared on the screen and beat the guards with a flurry of punches.
"Is that-?!" Yuya asked in disbelief.
"Yes. You want a rematch against Sora Shuin'in, correct?" Reiji asked.
"...This was your plan...you knew Dennis would lose and Sora would be drawn out...!" Yuya realized.
"Reira. Give him his duel disk." Reiji told his younger sibling who nodded. The child opened his jacket and took out Yuya's red duel disk which he had been holding on to.
"What? But how-?!"
"I had Tsukikage retrieve it earlier and Reira has been holding on to it." Reiji explained.
"Thank you, Reira." Yuya patted the boy's head as he equipped his duel disk. "How long have you been planning this?"
"There's no time. I'll inform the council I sent you to help keep Dennis from escaping. I have uploaded a map with a route that will help you bypass Security. Now go, Yuya." Reiji told the teen.
"...Right. Thank you." Yuya surprisingly said. Reiji nodded to the Yuya and the creator of Pendulum raced off.
'If Yuzu's duel taught me anything, it's that I can't forget everything we went through together at You Show including the time with Sora. I know he is a good person...I'll show him that what Academia is doing is wrong! Yuzu...I'll win Sora back!' Yuya thought to himself as he raced to the destination of his friend with a determined look.
He wasn't going to fail again...this time...he was going to get Sora back.
Wow! I can't believe we've gotten so far! I honestly didn't expect to get through the first round by the end of the month but I managed to push through!
That duel sure was a blast to write! I mean the original Shun vs Dennis was good, and I used some of the same strategies, but I brought in some other stuff like Trapeze High Magician and Arsenal Falcon. Quick note about Arsenal Falcon, it can't use it's rank up effect when destroyed if it doesn't have any Raid Raptors Xyz material, if you were unaware.Also, I wanted the duel to end with Satellite Cannon Falcon vs Chaos Giant since that is probably one of the mostbadass attacks in all of Yugioh. I also tried making Shun a bit more emotional here since I felt that Shun showing more emotion would make the scene better. And I don't know why but I really wanted to add the part with Shun seeing Yuzu as Ruri at the end. I felt like it worked since Ruri seems like the kind of sister that didn't like her brother being violent. All in all, I'm happy with the duel.
Other things about the duel, I didn't want Tsukikage using Action Card Spam as much as in the anime. And I really wanted to give Yaiba M-X Saber Invoker because I always planned it and I thought it would be cool. Also, sorry about Yugo not dueling, but I didn't feel like making him lose to Yaiba or Dennis after just losing to Jack.
So, I decided to have a bit of fun with the beginning and end of the chapter with the dialogue portions. I kind of combined a bunch of things Jack said in the anime and used them in the conversation with Yuya.
Then, we have Yuto going rage mode, something that you should have seen coming when you heard that Dennis and Shun were dueling this chapter. I mean, what else would you expect? He heard how is girlfriend was manipulated to trust Dennis who led Yuri straight to her. This will lead to interesting things once Dennis comes back into the picture later on in future arcs.
I just want to say this, I really love Yugo and Yuzu together. Yuto is kind of like her overprotective friend and Yuya is the love of her life. At this point, Yugo is kind of like her male best buddy. You all know I only ship Yuzu with Yuya in this story, and there is nothing at all romantic going on with Yugo and Yuzu, he obviously is head over heels for Rin. I just really like Yuzu and Yugo's friendly dynamic. I also really like the dynamic between Yuto and Serena, who are kind of like friendly rivals. I wish to expand upon Yuya and Serena's relationship more in this and the next arc since I feel the two can learn a lot from each other.
The final thing I want to talk about might be one of my favorite parts of the chapter...the Big Brain himself...Reiji Akaba. I really wanted to make him a more valuable contributor to the plot and I'm planning a very interesting duel for him during the Synchro Invasion. Anyways, I don't know why, but writing him and Yuya's conversations was really fun for me. Reiji is really helping Yuya get character development. And then he planned for Sora to show up. And even planned so far ahead to have Yuya's duel disk ready for him. This is why Reiji is my favorite rival along with Kaito.
