Sidney entered the visitation room with a somber expression, immediately catching Jill's attention. She picked up the phone, worry etched on her face. "What's going on, Sidney?" she asked, her voice cracking.
"Jill," Sidney began, taking a deep breath before continuing, "There have been new developments since we last spoke." She proceeded to inform Jill about Samantha's parentage, which shocked her. Jill vaguely remembered the girl as a freshman during her killing spree her senior year.
But Sidney didn't stop there. Her voice heavy with emotion, she revealed the more devastating news. "Judy and her teenage son, Wes, were both killed. Tara was attacked again at the hospital, and Dewey was seriously injured. He's still in critical condition."
Jill's eyes widened, and she felt a wave of nausea wash over her. Despite the horror of the situation, she couldn't help but ask, "How are you holding up, Sidney?"
Sidney shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. "It's getting harder every day, Jill. But I have to stay strong for everyone else. We can't let this new Ghostface win."
Jill nodded, trying to hide her own tears. "I wish I could help more, Sidney. I truly do."
Sidney offered a small, sad smile. "I know you do, Jill. Just keep your ears open, and if you hear anything, anything at all, let me know."
Jill agreed, and as Sidney left the visitation room, she felt a renewed sense of determination to help put an end to the new Ghostface's reign of terror.
Jill was informed that their PI group would be doing work detail outside of the prison tomorrow. They were instructed to be ready for transport by 0600. Jill's heart pounded in her chest; this was her chance. She would escape during work detail and take down the new Ghostface herself. She knew this wouldn't bode well; it would only get her into more trouble. But honestly, did it even matter? She was already serving a life sentence, so what did she have to lose?
Jill spent the rest of the evening planning her escape, tapping into her old self. If she was going to take down Ghostface, she had to think like Ghostface. She only had one chance tomorrow, and she needed to leave nothing to chance. She knew she would need a way to blend in with the outside world once she escaped, so she thought of ways to procure civilian clothes. She also needed to find transportation and a way to stay off the radar while she hunted down Ghostface.
As the night wore on, Jill felt a mixture of excitement and fear. She knew what she was doing was incredibly risky, but she couldn't shake the feeling that this was her chance at redemption. If she could bring down this new Ghostface, maybe, just maybe, she could find some semblance of peace with the person she had once been.
With her plan in place, Jill lay down on her bunk, trying to catch a few hours of sleep before the big day. But her mind raced with thoughts of the danger that lay ahead and the possibility of finally confronting the new Ghostface.
That night, Kirby, Sidney, and Gale sat in Kirby's home, discussing their next move. With Dewey still in the ICU and Judy and Wes now dead, they needed to stop the killer or killers soon. They went over the list of suspects: Chad and Mindy Meeks, Amber Freeman, Richie Kirsch, and Chad's girlfriend, Liz McKenzie. It was also possible that Samantha could have staged her attack, as she had admitted to being on medication for hallucinations, and her little sister Tara could have staged her injuries as well to throw them off. However, Sidney didn't think so; the girls seemed sincere enough to her.
Gale, still worried about Dewey, was having a hard time focusing. She tried to contribute to the conversation, but her thoughts kept drifting back to her husband.
Sidney spoke up, "I know it's hard to consider, but we can't rule out anyone at this point. We need to investigate all possible angles."
Kirby chimed in, "I agree with Sidney. We can't afford to trust anyone blindly, especially now. We need to be cautious and thorough."
Gale took a deep breath and nodded, "You're right. I'm just worried about Dewey. But we need to stop this killer before they can hurt anyone else."
Kirby couldn't help but bring up Jill again. "How can we be sure she isn't somehow running this whole thing from behind bars?" she asked, her voice filled with suspicion.
Sidney immediately jumped to Jill's defense. "I've been visiting her regularly, and she's shown remorse for what she's done. She even helped us with information about how a Ghostface thinks. I don't believe she's involved."
Kirby pressed on, "But we can't be certain. She could be playing us."
Gale, trying to maintain some semblance of order, interjected, "This isn't the time or place for that. We need to focus on the suspects we have in front of us."
Unbeknownst to the three women, Jill had plans of her own to stop Ghostface. While they debated her possible involvement, she was preparing for her one shot at escaping during work detail. She knew that the risk was immense, but she couldn't stand idly by while more innocent lives were taken. If she was going to redeem herself in any way, it had to be by putting an end to the killing spree that had started with her and Charlie.
"Roberts!" The guard called out, and Jill responded with her usual, "Jill 4476." Today was the day she had been planning for, and she couldn't afford any mistakes. She had to make sure to use as little violence as possible, and absolutely no killing.
The bus transport to the work site felt like an eternity. The anticipation was killing her, but she knew she had to remain calm and focused. As her cuffs came off, she noticed that the guards were watching them all like hawks. However, there were only three of them and twelve inmates. The odds were in her favor.
For now, though, patience was key. She had to wait for the right moment to make her move. As she worked alongside the other inmates, she kept a careful eye on the guards, calculating their every movement and looking for any weaknesses in their supervision.
As the day went on, Jill knew she would have to act soon. The opportunity she had been waiting for would come, and she had to be ready to seize it. She couldn't let fear or doubt hold her back – not when so much was at stake. The new Ghostface had to be stopped, and Jill was determined to be the one to do it.
Over the years, Jill had become in charge of her PI group, and as such, they owed her favors. This was like hitting the jackpot in a casino, and she was cashing in. The meal break began, and it was now or never.
Two prisoners created a diversion by starting an argument that quickly escalated into a physical fight. As the guards moved in to separate them, Jill seized the opportunity and swiftly swiped the keys from one of them.
She moved quickly to the prison van, her heart racing as she turned the ignition on. Before the guards could even register what was happening, Jill was off. She felt the adrenaline coursing through her veins; she hadn't felt this alive in years. Jill Roberts was back.
As she sped away from the work site, Jill couldn't help but feel a strange mixture of excitement and fear. She knew there would be consequences for her actions, but she couldn't dwell on that now. The new Ghostface had to be stopped, and Jill was determined to be the one to do it.
With every mile that she put between herself and the prison, Jill felt more and more like her old self – the cunning and resourceful girl who had once terrorized Woodsboro. She knew she had to use those skills for good now, to bring down a killer who was carrying on her twisted legacy.
The clock was ticking, and Jill knew she had to act fast. She had to find Ghostface and put an end to the horror once and for all. And this time, she would be the one to save the day.
FBI Agent Kirby Reed answered the phone call, her face growing more and more alarmed as she listened. "WHAT? HOW LONG AGO?" she exclaimed. "I'll be right over."
Sidney and Gale exchanged worried glances, immediately sensing that something was terribly wrong. "What happened, Kirby?" Sidney asked, her voice tense with concern.
Kirby took a deep breath, struggling to keep her emotions in check. "That was the Woodsboro PD. They just received word from the prison warden – Jill escaped."
Sidney's face paled, and Gale looked at her in disbelief. Kirby turned to Sidney, her eyes blazing with anger and frustration. "I WARNED you, Sidney. I TRIED to tell you that Jill was behind this, but you didn't listen."
Without another word, Kirby grabbed her coat and stormed out of the house, determined to head down to the station and put an end to this nightmare once and for all. She would stop Jill herself, and this time, it would be for good.
As Kirby sped towards the police station, her mind raced with possibilities. If Jill had indeed been orchestrating the new Ghostface murders from behind bars, then escaping from prison was just the next step in her twisted plan. The stakes were higher than ever, and Kirby knew she had to confront her past – and the girl who had once tried to kill her – if she wanted to protect the people she loved.
Sidney and Gale, left behind in the house, shared a grim look.
Sidney paced back and forth in the living room, her mind racing with doubts and fears. How could she have been so stupid? Were all these years just a lie? Had Jill been playing the long game, waiting for the perfect moment to strike again?
Gale, sensing her friend's distress, placed a comforting hand on Sidney's shoulder. "We've all been duped before, Sid," she said gently. "It's nothing new. Remember Billy, Stu, Mickey, and the rest of them? We got through it before, and we'll get through it again."
Sidney sighed, knowing Gale was right, but that didn't make the situation any easier to bear. She desperately tried to find a reason, something that could excuse Jill's escape, but she couldn't come up with one. It seemed impossible that the girl she had come to care for over the years could still be capable of such evil.
Little did Sidney know; her cousin wasn't the one she should have been worried about. As she and Gale prepared to join Kirby in the hunt for Jill, the real mastermind behind the new Ghostface murders was lurking in the shadows, watching their every move and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. The final act of their twisted game was about to begin, and no one in Woodsboro would be safe from the deadly consequences.
As Jill walked down the street, blending in with the crowd, she marveled at how easy it was to go unnoticed. People were so engrossed in their phones that they barely glanced at one another. If she had known that escaping would be this simple, she might have tried it sooner.
With a stolen credit card in hand, Jill had treated herself to a new wardrobe, a blonde wig, and a pair of sunglasses. She hardly recognized herself in the mirror, and she couldn't help but admit that she looked great with blonde hair. But she couldn't allow herself to get too distracted; she had a mission to complete, and once it was over, she planned to turn herself back in.
As Jill continued down the street, she spotted an ice cream shop and her eyes widened. She hadn't tasted ice cream in over a decade, and the thought of indulging in a cold, sweet treat was almost too tempting to resist. Jill hesitated for a moment, considering the risks. But then she decided that a small detour wouldn't hurt. After all, she was on a mission to save lives, and she deserved a little reward for her efforts. With a small smile, Jill stepped into the shop, ready to savor a taste of freedom before diving headfirst into the dangerous world of Ghostface once more.
As Jill stared at the array of flavors in front of her, she decided to go for her childhood favorite – Rocky Road. It was an ironic choice, considering the way her life had turned out. As she indulged in her frozen treat, a news bulletin caught her attention on a nearby screen.
"Jill Roberts is at large and extremely dangerous, Woodsboro citizens are asked to call 911 immediately If they have any information."
Her heart sank; the news was about her. Jill knew she had to leave immediately. Ice cream in hand, she hastily exited the shop, only to crash into someone on her way out.
"Watch where—"
Jill's heart skipped a beat as she recognized the person she had bumped into – it was Kirby. For a moment, they both stood there, frozen. Jill tried to come up with an excuse or explanation, but her mind was a whirlwind of panic.
She had to think fast. If Kirby recognized her, it could ruin everything. Taking a deep breath, Jill forced a smile and tried to play it cool.
A/N: Uh oh, Jill's in trouble, someone's come along, and they've burst her bubble, yea yea! Anyway, yes in my version of Scream 5, Dewey is still alive, albeit seriously injured, so this takes him out for the test of the story.
