Carol was just starting to wake up after falling unconscious from shock as Jackie, Matt, Inez and Digit returned from R-fair city since they had stopped Hacker from taking all the power from the cyber site which meant that it was up to the three humans to keep Carol calm while Digit and Motherboard helped explained everything to her.
"Oh. What happened?" Carol asked as she rubbed her eyes, once she opened them back up, Carol saw Jackie, Matt and Inez then remembered that they had been sucked up into some kind of portal. "Carol?" Matt asked in concern, he and the girls were worried about their new classmate. "What happened to us? Where are we?" Carol asked the three friends, the three humans didn't know how to answer that without her yelling at them in anger and fear.
"We know this might sound crazy, but we're in cyberspace." Inez replied hesitantly, the cybermates held their breath as Carol blinked then looked at Digit as well as Motherboard. "Explain, please." Carol responded calmly, her classmates and their friends looked at each other in surprise by Carol's calm demeanor, but they did as she had asked and told her their story from coming to cyberspace to stopping Hacker and other villains from trying to take over all the cyber sites.
Carol listened patiently and calmly to her classmates while she processed the information that she was given. "Any questions?" Digit asked her nervously, a million questions ran through Carol's mind, but she didn't to upset anyone with them which is why she asked only one question. "Is there a way to go back home again?" Carol asked in wonder, she could tell that everyone was wondering why that had been her only question, but they were also glad that she wasn't bombarding them with tons of other questions.
"I can make another portal to return you to earth." Motherboard told Carol, the twelve year old was happy to hear that. "It's definitely time to head home." Jackie said as she looked at her watch, Motherboard then opened up the portal back to earth, Jackie, Matt and Inez went first to show Carol that it was safe, but when she tried to go through it, the portal forced Carol back into control central before it closed, much to the shock of Digit, Motherboard and Carol.
"Was that supposed to happen?" Carol asked Motherboard, the ruler of cyberspace tried to open the portal, but it refused to do as she commanded. "I cannot open the portal back to earth." Motherboard responded to Carol, she and Digit looked at each other in worry. "Why won't it open?" Carol asked him, it took Digit and Motherboard a few minutes to see what had happened, only they couldn't find any problems with the system which meant that they didn't know what caused the portal to force Carol to bounce back.
"We'd better call the kids." Digit said to Motherboard, they called the kids to let them know what had happened, but that lead to Jackie's freak out. "What're supposed to tell your parents?!" Jackie asked as she paced back and forth, Carol sighed at her question and freak out. "How do you send messages to them?" Carol asked Digit, the cybird showed her how to send messages from Motherboard's computer to which Carol sent them an address as well as a message.
"Go to this address then give that message to a girl named Molly, and she'll take it from there." Carol told her classmates, Jackie, Matt and Inez wanted to ask who Molly was, but then they thought better not to ask in case Carol got annoyed, so they agreed to find Molly at the address that they were given before signing off. "What should we do now?" Digit asked Motherboard, the two decided to try and find out what stopped Carol from returning to earth while the girl in question left them to have it while she went to practice the song she needed to pull off for the school play.

At the end of song, Carol smiled as she sighed in satisfaction. "I think that's best I can do for now." Carol said to herself, she went on to learning her lines for the school play by doing the other parts while making it seem like she wasn't the only one doing the roles of her character's friends which made it easier to learn her own lines before she took a break. "I hope I can go home soon." Carol muttered to herself, she then chose to look around control central since she didn't know how long it would take Digit and Motherboard to solve the portal problem.
Meanwhile, back in the main room with Digit and Motherboard, both of them still didn't understand what caused the portal to push Carol away from itself before closing, so they sent a message to their friends Dr. Marbles and Lady Ada Lovelace for help after explaining the situation to them both, luckily they had agreed to help while also making sure Hacker hadn't done anything to interfere, but they quickly discovered that for once the evil cyborg had nothing to do with the portal closing, which begged the question of what happened?
Marbles and Ada both told Motherboard that they would do some research as did she while listening to Carol sing and act out her character for her school play. "She's good." Digit commented, everyone agreed with him before deciding to split up the research project while hoping to fix the problem before Hacker actually caught on to what was happening and using it to his advantage to try and gain control over cyberspace or worse, trying to get Carol onto his side by promising to help send her home.
Although from what Motherboard and Digit have gathered already, Carol is smart enough to know to not trust Hacker no matter what he promises to her. "I'll set up the guest room for Carol." Digit told Motherboard, the wise ruler of cyberspace nodded to him, and once Digit was out of room, Motherboard wondered why Carol was stuck in cyberspace for now and hoped that the young girl would trust her as well as the others to help get her back to earth soon.
