The next morning Carol was eating breakfast with Digit even though she was surprised to see that he could eat normal food like humans can despite being a cybird, but Carol wasn't going to say anything that might offend Digit since she was trying to leave a good impression on her classmates friend as he was important to them, but this made her grateful that she could still eat normal food since that's one of the things that Carol had been worried about.
"So, what's the plan for today?" Carol asked Digit, she wanted to fill the silence as she didn't like it when nobody was talking. "Motherboard, Dr. Marbles and Ada are still looking into the portal problem." Digit replied to Carol, she made a gesture for him to continue so that way she'd know what Digit was going to do in case he needed help with anything around control central since it's only fair that she'd help him in return since Motherboard is helping her to return to earth.
"I was planning on going to another cyber site, but I don't want to leave you alone." Digit told Carol, she knew that what Digit was implying was that she'd get bored if he left while Motherboard and her friends were busy working on trying to find the problem with the portal, which is what Carol was hoping he'd say at that moment since she needed his help with something too, but only if Digit was willing to help her practice for the school play after they did somethings around control central.
After finishing their breakfast, Carol and Digit cleaned control central then worked on updating the security system just in case Hacker tried anything while Motherboard was busy, and then the two did some gardening before taking a break for a snack with Digit saying that he was happy to have someone helping him with the chores around control central while Dr. Marbles would normally help him, he was away looking for a way to cure the virus that Hacker gave to Motherboard.
Carol and Digit got back to finishing the chores making sure not to miss anything that could cause a problem later on for them and Motherboard. "Control central has never looked better." Digit said with a smile on his beak, hearing that made Carol smile along side him, doing something to help Digit made her happy since doing her fair share of the work was the least Carol could do as he and Motherboard were letting her stay with them, so doing some hard work was a fair way to repay the cybird and ruler for their help.
Digit looked at the clock only to realize that he and Carol had gotten every chore on the list done ahead of time, and it wasn't even lunch yet. "Now what should we do?" Digit asked Carol, the young girl smiled shyly as she held up the script for her school's play which made Digit understand what she was trying to ask him, so Digit and Carol worked together to help her learn her lines while Digit played the part of the king in the story as he did the kings lines, before they decided to practice the duet in the play.

At the end of the duet, Carol and Digit smiled at each other since they both loved the song as it sounded like a vow to protect someone that they loved even though the song was about the wishes that the characters were suppose to protect even if only one of them meant it while the other pretended, but that's how the story was suppose to go which is why Carol had to explain that to Digit the previous night that way he wasn't confused by the king in the story.
Carol and Digit decided to practice a little more until it was time for lunch, so the two worked together to make sandwiches with a salad for the side since they had picked the freshest and ripest veggies from the garden along with fruit as both wanted something good and healthy to eat as they talked about what else they could around control central before they agreed to watch some movies for a little while since it didn't seen like Hacker or any other baddie were going to cause trouble today.
As Carol and Digit hung out with each other, Motherboard smiled as she heard them getting along as well as sing a duet together since it warmed her heart as well as eased her mind that Carol was starting to trust Digit as she hoped that the young girl would trust her as well, and while Motherboard knew that Carol was a nice girl, she still wondered why the portal back to earth had refused to let Carol go home which is why she, Dr. Marbles and Ada were hoping to find then fix the problem fast.
Meanwhile, in a cyber site called the Northern Frontier, Hacker was spying on Motherboard in hopes of thinking up a new evil plan to take over cyberspace, but so far he's had no luck in doing so, and was getting frustrated by his lack of evil plans not only that, it didn't help when he heard Digit beginning to sing before another voice joined in as the song swelled into a sickly sweet vow to protect someone or something which is how Hacker had found out about Carol.
"It seems that Motherboard has brought in another earth brat." Hacker told Buzz and Delete, the two looked confused at their boss's wicked grin. "Isn't that a bad thing?" Buzz asked in confusion, normally Hacker would've yelled at his two stooges since another earth kid meant more trouble for him, but a plan was starting to form in Hacker's mind, and using the new child was a part of that plan to help him take over cyberspace like he's always dreamed of, so Hacker whispered his plan to Buzz and Delete which made more grin wickedly as well.
New chapter done! I don't own the song in this chapter, and for those of you who haven't seen Wish, I'm trying really hard not to spoil anything for anyone.
