Chapter 16: don't go
A/N: Hello everyone, at the beginning of every year my church participates in a fast for twenty-one days. Therefore I will not post the next chapter until January 31st! so enjoy this one and I will see you then!
"alright Izzy, on the count of one, two, three." Sam's voice echoed in her ear.
Bella screamed.
And then the water washed over them. A few seconds later they came up for air.
" oh my gosh, Sam! That was amazing! I have n-never felt anything like that!" she said as she shivered in her husband's arms.
"I figured you would like that. Now let's get you into some dry clothes," he told her as they walked out of the water.
Once Sam had finished his meetings for the day, he returned home and took Bella out to something he called cliff diving. Together they jumped off a huge cliff and into the freezing water.
However, Bella was grateful For Sam's high body temperature.
"bu-but I don't have anymore. I have my black dress, that's about it." she shivered.
He was quick to carry her out of the water and all the way home.
"well, we can head up to port angles and get you some clothes. it's freezing outside, don't you own any pants?" he questioned.
"not allowed to wear them."
Sam rolled his eyes.
"Well, when you are with me you are. And we can get you some bra's I broke that corset thing."
Bella snorted.
"That's because you were in a rush to take it off."
"that's true." He agreed.
"Where did Kai go?" Bella asked.
He was with them during breakfast and stayed with her when Sam went to his meetings but as they made their way to the beach, she noticed he was nowhere in sight.
"sent him to the blacks. I wanted to enjoy our last few hours together. Would you still like to go over to their house tonight?" Sam asked her.
"of course! I think it will be nice to get back in touch with them. And maybe when I come home again, we can go to Forks? I want to see my old house."
Sam stopped walking and looked at her.
"what is it?" she asked.
"you've only been here for three days and you're already calling La Push your home."
Bella shrugged.
"that's because it is. Being here with you. it's a different kind of freedom. When I go back to the Cullens I'm Isabella princess of the Volturi. But when I'm with you I'm Bella Uley. Thiers no expectation for me to change who I am, or wear fancy dresses. I can be me when I'm with you."
Sam then kissed her with a passion.
We might not make it to the store, she thought.

A few hours later, after buying her first few pairs of jeans, leggings, and bra Bella found herself engulfed in a bear hug.
It was Sarah.
"Oh, my sweet girl. Come in."
"Hi, Aunt Sarah." She greeted.
She was then pulled into another hug, just as tight.
"there's my bells!"
"hi, uncle billy." Bella laughed.
"come on in the dining room you two. We need some meat on those bones bells." Billy told her as he guided her and Sam into the dining room.
"I don't eat meat Uncle Billy."
Billy groaned.
"oh, great spirits.."
As they were about to sit down the back door opened to reveal Kai, Leah, and a man she didn't know.
"Mama B!" Kai greeted happily. Gone was the scared pre-teen, and walking up to greet her was a calm young man.
Bella pulled him into a gentle hug and pushed his hair back.
"Well hello, handsome. You doing good?"
"much better." He said he then went to approach Sam.
Sam cupped the back of Kai's neck and rumbled.
"Hello, pup. Be mindful."
"yes sir."
While Sam was talking to Kai, Bella turned her attention to the young man and Leah who were awkwardly standing in the doorway. Leah from her to Sam and then to the young man.
"Calm leah. Calm Jacob." Was Sam's strong command. It seemed to filter the room as the tension broke.
However, Bella hearing Jacob's name was having a flashback.
"come on bells! Let's make mud pies!"
She was on the beach and Jacob was holding her hand leading her to the sand and the waves that lapped up the beach.
"ok! Jake! And then we can bake them!" she told him.
Both children broke out into fits of laughter.
Bella snapped out of her repressed memory as recollection showed on her face.
"Jake?" she questioned quietly as she looked toward the man next to Leah.
It makes sense why he seemed so familiar.
Jacob was slow in his movements as he made his way to her. he stopped and looked at Sam first. The latter nods in approval.
As soon as it was given Bella was pulled to a hot chest.
Jakes's familiar scent filled her nose.
"bells.." he cried. "I didn't think I would ever see you again. I thought I lost my best friend."
Bella felt her tears fall.
"I am so sorry Jake. If I had remembered sooner, I would have come home. I would come home to all of you." she admitted to the room.
Jacob pulled back and looked at her. he gently looked her up and down checking for injuries.
With gentleness, he touched the skin where her arm was missing. She wore one of Sam's sweaters and black skinny jeans. But, when Jacob hugged her, the sweater was pulled down revealing her missing arm.
with warm hands, he traced over the vampire bits that covered her left side.
A snarl released itself from his lips.
once again, Sam set an atmosphere of calm.
"calm Jacob. Do not hurt your alpha female. She's here, and she is safe."
Jacob nodded and took a deep breath.
"where have you been bells? What happened?"
Bella sighed.
"lets sit and I'll tell you."
After she had told her story and told them the whole truth, including her life being forfeited at the age of nineteen, Kai absolutely lost it.
However, Sam being in perfect control, guided the growling and snarling boy outside.
"im sorry. I didn't want to ruin dinner by telling you all this." She admitted.
"oh sweetheart, you haven't ruined dinner but it is a shock to know that our enemy has had you all this time. The whole tribe knows of the existence of the cold ones. They are our enemy and to know that you are at their mercy…it angers us." Billy told her, as reached across the table to hold her hand.
" but why do you have to be with them bells? Why forfeit your life?" Jacob questioned.
"I think that's enough questions."
All eyes turned to see Sam standing tall and calm in the doorway. Kai, now calm stood next to him.
"But Sam-"Jacob began.
Sam put a hand up for silence.
"you will respect your alpha female's decisions. That is it and that is all. Let us eat."
Once Sam gave the order, the tension in the room lifted.
"so Bella, what are you studying at the university?" Sarah asked.
"English. I would like to be a writer one day."
"Really! I majored in English too when I was your age.. your mother.-"
Sarah paused as she blinked away tears and then looked at Bella to gauge her reaction.
"It's ok Aunt Sarah. I want to hear about my parents. I miss them and I want to keep their memory alive." She admitted.
Sarah and Billy smiled.
"well.. let me tell this story about your mom. We had gotten drunk one night…"

Bella played with the hem of her sweater, as she leaned against her car.
She was now in Seattle and Sam was leaning over her, his arms caging her in.
"My Sam.." she said softly.
" my butterfly." He told her as he leaned down for a kiss.
When they separated he spoke.
" you have the whole pack number in your phone. I am going to tell them about you tomorrow. Leah lives in Seattle so if I can't get to you fast enough, she's around. I put a bunch of my sweaters in your bag as well. And I have a gift for you."
It was then he handed her a wooden ring with an opal jewel in the middle. Carved on the ring were tiny wolves.
"I made this for you," he told her as he put it on her ring finger.
"oh, Sam it's beautiful."
"You are beautiful." He comp;imented.
Bella sighed.
"This is harder than I thought. I don't want to leave."
"and I don't want you to leave either."
"When will I see you again? I mean my guard is always by my side and you are always with the pack not to mention your dad."
Sam pulled her into a hug. The warmth of his body radiated all over her skin.
"we will talk and text every day. And for now, we will play it by ear."
"ok. I can call you tomorrow?" she asked.
"butter fly you can call me anytime."
With that said, the couple kissed one last time.

"well welcome back girl-"Victoria stopped in her greeting as Isabella pushed past her and ran straight for her room. "hey.. what's wrong?"
However, Isabella didn't answer. She simply went to her room and slammed the door.
