Chapter 51
Bella POV
I held up the letter that she'd sent me. "What the hell am I supposed to do with this, Mom?" I asked her.
"Bella? What are you doing here? Weren't you getting married today?" She asked me.
"That's not important. What I want to know is why did you send the letter?" I asked her.
"It was something that I felt that I needed to do. Just because I don't support what you're doing with your life doesn't mean that I don't care." She said.
"But isn't it? Mom, you told me in front of Dad and Jared's parents that you thought that we were making your mistakes…which we are not. You still don't get it. Jared is and will always be my future. If you do not come get on a plane with me right now, and come to my wedding…that's it, I'm done. You will not here from me, see me or know your grandchild. Is that what you want?"
Renee stood there and stared at me dumbfounded. "I can't." Renee said.
I stood there and shook my head. "Goodbye Mom. I hope you have a great life." I said before I turned and walked away.
Jared POV
I was sitting in my living room after I'd cleared everyone out of my house, when my cell rang. I smiled when I saw that it was Bella. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked her.
She sighed down the phone. "No, but I will be. I'm about to get on a plane. I should be home early in the morning. Get everything set up for tomorrow. I'm sorry I took off like I did." She said.
"Babe, it's okay. I just want to make sure that you're okay." I said.
"Like I said, I will be. See you in the morning." She said.
"See you then." I said before I hung up.
After sticking my phone back in my pocket, I headed outside; stripped my shorts off and phased. I knew that Paul was on patrol right now so I'd be able to talk to him without him judging about the fact that Bell took off to Jacksonville the day of our wedding. "Hey." He said.
"Hey. Bells called. She'll be home in the morning." I told him, so that he could pass it along.
"I'll be sure to tell the others. Need anything?" He asked.
"No. I'll just be glad when she gets home." I said, sitting back on my haunches.
He nodded his acceptance. "She tell you why she left?" He asked.
I shook my head. "She doesn't have to. I trust her with everything that I am. She's the other half of my soul. If she left to fly across the country then I know that it was for a good reason. I don't have to ask her, besides I already know." I said.
"You do?"
"Yep. Her mom sent her a letter. Knowing Bell, she didn't like it so she went to confront Renee…which I don't blame her for. The only thing that I wished was different was that she'd told someone where she was going. That way nobody worried about her." I said.
"I can understand that. If it was Rach, I'd be freaking out. I kinda already do. She stays with me sometimes but we're in separate bedrooms. We're not there yet." He said.
"I get it." I said. "Just pass along that she'll be home tomorrow morning. She wants the wedding to happen tomorrow." I said.
"Sure thing. I'm headed to Sam's now. Get some sleep." He said before he phased out.
Bella POV - The next morning
When I'd gotten off my plane back to Seattle, I'd called Jared. Fortunately, he'd sent Paul to come pick me up and bring me home. For that I was grateful. Paul and I talked on the way back to La Push and I explained to him why I'd left. I could sense that even though Jared didn't ask for a reason why I'd left, the rest of the pack obviously needed one. When we got to mine and Jared's house, the girls were waiting for me. I showered and then they helped me get ready. Before I knew it, Paul was driving us to third beach. When Uncle Quil had found out that we were getting married, he'd insisted that we get married on third beach. He told me that it was a sacred place for pack related events. He'd also told me that it was the same spot that our baby would be blessed. I had smiled at the thought.
As I climbed out of the truck, Dad was the first person I saw. "You look incredible Bells." Charlie said, taking in my appearance of a traditional Quileute wedding dress. In fact, it had be Aunt Sarah, Jake's mom's wedding dress. I was honored that Billy had agreed to let me wear it.
I smiled at him. "Thanks Dad." I said.
Before I knew it, Dad was walking me down the aisle. When I looked up, there stood Jared at the end wearing a traditional Wolf headdress. He looked so handsome.
Jared POV
When I saw begin to make her way down the make-shift aisle, I couldn't look away. She looked every bit of the vision that I'd seen of her the day that I'd imprinted on her. When she and Charlie reached me, I couldn't help the grin on my face. "Take care of her son." Charlie said to me.
I briefly looked at the chief. "Always, Chief." I said.
I took Bella's hand from him and we turned toward Billy. "Benvenuto, Jared prendi tu la Bella," Billy said. (welcome, do you Jared take thee Bella)
"I do." I said.
"Bella, portati con te Jared?" (Bella, do you take thee Jared)
"I do." Bella said.
"Amatevi bene. Per il potere conferitomi dai grandi spiriti, ora vi dichiaro marito e moglie" Billy said. (Love each other well. By the power vested in me by the great spirits, I now pronounce you husband and wife.)
I couldn't believe it. Bella was now my wife.
