Part 68
Ronnie sat at the bar watching his fiancé mixed a drink for a purple skinned alien at the far end of the bar. That was something that he was still getting use to. The fact that Charlie didn't care what her customers were as long as they could pay for their drinks. He still at times got confused between this reality and the one he died in. After giving the alien woman her drink Charlie came over and leaned over to give him a kiss.
"So where is she from originally?" asked Ronnie
"Dragton well her parents are from there. She was born here. She is a student at CCU studying chemistry. Stuff I find boring. But I did let her know that my sister and brother in law own Star Labs and are planning to reopen it. That by the time she graduates it maybe open and they will be looking for employees. Of course they will have to either seal off the cortex and the rest of the Flash cave area or move it. She still has nearly two years to go on her PHD. So there is time to figure that out."
"Since when do you help recruit for Star Labs?"
"Since Breen that's her name has had issues with people even looking past the fact she isn't human. The only reason she even got into CCU is that Laurel Lance threaten a laws suit on discrimination based on race. Most of the time Breen does use an image enhancer to hide the purple skin. But she has been coming in for a couple of months and knows that I don't care if someone is alien, human or meta. Or about their sexual orientation. So she turned it off tonight."
"So when do you think that this crisis thing is going to happen?"
"Not sure. All I know is that we are going to stop the Anti Monitor before he destroys the multiverse again."
"No one wants that to happen."
"I know. But it is different this time. Caity and I were in one body then. In the weeks leading up to crisis last time she let me have control all the time only stepping in when she was needed as team doctor. Other than the last few hours before crisis began. Then I gave her back control to spend what we thought might be the last few hours left before we lost Barry forever. But in the end the Barry from Earth-90 sacrificed himself instead. Seems there was a loop hole that we all over looked. Novu only said that the Flash had to disappear in crisis. One named Barry Allen. But the thing was there was a whole multiverse of Barry Allen's out there. Which the Earth-90 Barry figured out. But then again he was like the same age as Barry's dad and Uncle Jay so he had Ben in the game a long time. So our Barry lived and the Earth-90 died."
"You want to get through this without losing anyone you care about."
"Don't you? Do you want Caity to die? I mean in a different reality you loved her."
"True. Of course I don't want her to die. I don't want you to die either. But it is you that I love. You need to learn that you are not the ice queen you pretend to be. That you are this loveable and fun woman. Come on you got to know how much I love you. We have kids in the future. Two of which are here to help us with crisis."
"Yeah why do I get the feeling that these kids are up to something."
"Most likely because they are." Said Sara walking in.
Charlie seeing her grabbed a bottle of her best scotch and poured two fingers worth into a glass and slid it across the bar to the time traveling captain.
"First one is on the house. Any more you got to pay for." Said Charlie
"Thanks. So as of right now no one can travel to the future. Not on a time ship, or with a time courier." Said Sara
"Barry has promised not to time travel unless it is absolutely necessary. But from what I know from last time he couldn't go to the future because of a antimatter wave anyway. I mean Jay sent his mind to the future but he couldn't go there in person." Said Charlie
"How is that even possible?"
"Don't ask me. Caity is the science nerd between the two of us. But I'm not sure if she would have a clue."
"I guess the only other question is why we chose to name our kids Ryan and Joanna."
"Well Ryan Reynolds is kind of cute."
"Really?"
"But you are much cuter."
"Nice save Frosty."
Charlie smiled kissed Ronnie and headed for the stairs to their apartment.
"You coming to keep me warm?"
Ronnie smiled and took off after her. Kamila watched them go with a roll of her eyes. She wasn't sure if she liked this version of Frost better or the old one. Well the only good thing was this one seemed to have more of a filter on her comments.
"Hey Kamila." Said Jesse sitting down with Wally
"You know I am not going to serve you any alcohol." Said Kamila
"Come on Charlie is not even here." Said Wally
"She and Ronnie just went upstairs and I am not going to risk her turning me into an icicle if she catches me. Besides she will lose her liquor license if a cop comes in and sees the two of you drinking."
"Just gives us cokes." Said Jesse
"That I can do. So I heard that the two of you are planning to move to Blue Valley."
"Yeah we figure that working with the new JSA forming there would be a better fit for us over team Flash." Said Wally
"Well then if I don't see the two of you again before you leave I wish you luck."
"Thanks Kamila." Said Wally
