Jess and her friends are hanging out at lunch
"Katherine how're you adjusting to Berry High?" Jess asked
"Everyone has been so warm and welcoming here. I feel right at home." Katherine smiled. "Except for one thing."
"What's wrong?" Julian asked
"Track season just started over at Athena Academy and the competition is coming up. I used to run sprints there and I really miss it." Katherine sighed. "And if I don't compete this year, I just know Lacey will be the league champion, maybe even make it to the state."
"Lacey? As in psychotic blackmailer she's the track star." Nishan glared. "Lacey just have to be appear everywhere."
"Make sense, when you're guilty you gotta know how to run." Julian glared
"Relax Lacey gave me her word she'll stop messing with Katherine." Wes pointed
"She's not going to listen to you." Julian argued
"Trust me she will keep her word."
"I know the solution to your problem." said Jess. "Join the track team."
"Are you sure?" Katherine asked
"Relax your welcome to join the track team their practicing after school."
"Count me in, I'm the star athlete." said Julian
"Julian I don't think your football skill will translate." Mia frowned
"We have to work on our speed and stamina." Julian pointed
"Good point."
After school the track team were practicing at the field
"Hey guys." Jess waved
"Hey Jess." Emily waved
"Up for running lap, hurdle some hurdle." Danny jumped excitedly
"I got some friends want to join the track team."
"Hi I would like to join the track team, I was in the track team at Athena I miss it." Katherine said shyly
"Me too, count me in as the athlete star." Julian grinned
"Sure the more the merrier." Emily smiled
"But training will be intense."
"Listen up were competing against Athena we need to be in shape, work on our stamina and speed." Emily announced. "Practice will be intense, I'm in charge since I'm the captain of the track team. Start by running 5km around the track field."
The track team began running laps around the field
"Alright relay team get into position." Emily announced
Julian, Katherine and Matthew assemble
"Alright this is all about teamwork." Emily pointed
"I can run first then hand the baton to Katherine." said Julian
"Then I'll take it from here." said Matthew
Emily blows her whistle. The relay practice begins.
"Piece of cake." Julian smiled handing Katherine the baton and Katherine takes off sprinting
"Keep running Katherine." Matthew cheered
Katherine makes a perfect handoff to Matthew who takes off with the baton up ahead Matthew hands the baton to Danny. Nearby Emily tosses a javelin into the air and Ava pole vault into the air and Luna sprints faster.
"Whoa everyone really fast." Katherine gasped
"Great job in time we'll be ready for competition, the competition on Friday all of us have to practice hard be mentally ready." Emily announced
"Phew that was an intense workout." Julian huffed
"That feel great running lap." Katherine smiled
"Yes." Everyone nodded
"I have asthma i need the inhaler its in my gym bag." Katherine struggles to breathe
Emily grabs the inhaler for Katherine. "Here it is."
"Thanks." Katherine puts on her mouth and takes a deep breath. "Thanks for the help."
Julian groaned
"What's wrong?" Katherine asked
"Max and Kara are coming. Our rival." Julian explained. "I better call Jess."
Jess, Julian and Katherine meet up with Max and Kara
"What do you want?" Julian glared
"A little heads up your not only competing against Athena, your also competing against Hearst." Max taunted. "Hearst has been league champs, Berry doesn't stand a chance."
"Yeah you're going down Berry." Kara glared
"That didn't stop us beating you in every sport." Julian taunted
"Your afraid were going to beat you again." Jess glared
"Your going down." Max glared. "Let make a bet the track competition is this weekend. All the local school will be there. Let's say loser host a victory banquet for the winner."
"Max your going overboard, can't we just collect the prize?" Kara sighed
"It's perfect these loser will look so stupid dressed up like waiter." Max grinned
"I think we need to raise the stakes even higher." Jess glared
"Jess don't." Julian stopped Jess
"You have to shut down that loser school." Max grinned
"Were not shutting down Berry High, I say the loser have to host a victory banquet and a huge party for the winner." Jess glared
"The winner will have a feast." Max glared
"The loser recite poetry." Katherine pointed
"Doesn't matter were going to win." Max glared. "Let go.
Max and Kara strides off
"Phew! Another Max encounter survived." Jess sighed in relief
"Ignore them right now we have to focus for the competition." Julian pointed
The track team practiced really hard Katherine even did the special workout with the jock at the Jock Hangout. On the weekend it is time for the track competition
"Alright let's set up the tent." Said Jess
"How about here?" Emily pointed. "Wow I didn't think you all show up!"
"We couldn't miss out cheering for Katherine better than shopping for shoe." Payton smiled
"Were all here for Katherine." Jess smiled
"She our friend." Mia smiled
"Hey what about me?" Julian glared
"Just messing with you Julian were going to cheer for you too." Jess smiled
"Just messing Katherine our friend." Julian smiled
"Awww thanks guy I would have done the same. Perfect we'll have extra shade perfect!" Katherine smiled
"Here come Athena." Emily pointed
"Hearst is here too." Julian pointed
"Not thrilled seeing you again." Lacey glared
"We're going to win today." Danny glared
"What are you up to? Your usual blackmailing and threatening people?" Emily glared
"Leave Lacey alone she's not like that after she came back to Athena." Bridgette defend
"Its ok Bridge I got this. I have a word or two with them." Lacey smiled, Bridgette left. "Relax I gave my word I stop messing with Kat, this doesn't mean I'm going easy on you."
"We never asked you too." Emily glared
"Good, let get this competition over with." Lacey scoffed
"Don't forget about the bet the loser will have to serve us banquet, write a poem and throw us a party." Max pointed
"I want to be included in the bet to crush Berry High." Lacey glared
"Fine were not going to lose." Jess glared
"Who this handsome gentleman might be?" Lacey blushed
"Eww he's not even cute." Ava snarl
"The name Max Warren pleasure to meet you milady." Max smiled
"The name Lacey Heartbrow, I heard so many things about you."
"Oh brother. Shouldn't you be a juvie." Kara glared
"Sweetie nice to see you again, I got out of juvie for good behaviour I'm playing nice." Lacey smiled
"You have got to be freaking kidding me."
Just then the announcement interrupt the conversation. "Ladies and gentlemen, the competition is about to begin. All relay runner should report to their position."
"That's our cue you're going down." Lacey glared
The relay team rush over to their starting position around the track. They were competing against Twin Branch Owen and Kimi competing. The starting gun goes off Julian shoots out of the starting block and sprints along the lane towards Katherine and she take off sprinting. Katherine sprint down the straightaway toward Matthew who takes off with the baton up ahead Matthew hands the baton to Danny. Danny is neck and neck with Max as they sprint toward the finish line. Danny barely cross first
Another announcement blast from the speaker. Pole vaulters please report to the runway pole vault is about to start. "I'm on your going down Hearst." Kara smiled
Then it was the 100m dash all the scores are close, Hearst is currently in the lead by 5 point with Berry and Athena tied for second. 'Ladies and gentleman it's time for the 200m dash. Runner please meet at the starting line.'
"It's time for Katherine race against Lacey." Mia gasped
"Let's cheer for Katherine." Payton cheered
The whole school cheer for Katherine. "Go Katherine."
"Go defeat that witch." Kara yelled
"Since when your being nice?" Jess asked
"Since I want to see Lacey lose." Kara glared
Katherine line up behind her starting block in lane 4. "Your going down Katherine."
"I'm not losing to you. I've been training hard with the jocks I'm faster than ever." Katherine glared back
The starting gun fires the runner shoot out of the blocks
"Go Katherine!" Everyone cheered
Katherine overtake Lacey but Katherine makes up some of the distance on the straightaway. Lacey and Katherine lean together but Katherine crosses first
Everyone cheered and screamed. "Go Katherine!"
Katherine was out of breath
"She out of breath again." Jess sighed
Bridgette smiled handing Katherine the inhaler. "Thanks Bridge I can breathe."
"What are bestie for you were amazing." Bridgette smiled
"Congrats Kat." said Lacey
"Did you say congrats?" Katherine smiled
"Yeah you won fair and square." Lacey walked away
The competition ended Max crosses the line in first place winning the race for Hearst. Hearst High won first place "In your face!" Max smirked collect his trophy for Hearst
"Aww I wanted that trophy." Emily groaned
"Congratulation Max although I want that trophy." Lacey smiled
"Thanks." Max kissed Lacey in the cheek
Kara gasped in shock. "Did he kissed Lacey."
Everyone gasped watching. "OMG Max kissed Lacey while dating Kara."
"Stop being so dramatic I'm being nice I don't kiss every girl its not like we hooked up don't forget our bet the victory banquet, poem about how awesome I am and widest party while your at it." Max smirked. "You can come too I'll make sure these loser treat you like a queen." Max taunted
"I'll pass I rather not run into them, congratulations." Lacey smiled walked away
"We don't have to do this.' Autumn frowned
