Serana and I decided we would wake up early to make the most of our day for once. As we were walking towards the carriage driver, I noticed Serana was humming an unfamiliar song. I found myself immensely enjoying it as I inched closer and closer instinctively. Almost not seeing how close I was to her.
"Ever heard of personal space?" She said with an amused grin.
I felt heat rise to my cheeks as a red tint painted my cheeks. Then, noticing that Serana's amused grin grew even wider.
"You know I hate you for teasing me this much."
She just laughed.
"Haha, my favorite pastime." She said as she gave me the most beautiful smile. Which once again filled my being with a warm feeling.
"Now, casanova, let's get to it. The carriage driver is waiting." She said as she playfully flicked my nose.
As we got in the cart, I saw this as an excellent time to look at my map. A lot of the locations on the map were still unfamiliar to me. I also noticed that many areas weren't present on the map, just like the crypt where I found Serana in or castle Volkihar.
I scratched my head as I had trouble finding Ustengrav. All I knew was that it was somewhere around Morthal that was it.
I looked up to find that Serana was looking at me with a devious grin on her face.
"What?" I said.
Serana smile just grew wider as she pointed at my shoulder. I looked to the side of me and saw that a bird had pooped on my armor.
" ahw, come on ! I just washed it !" I yelled, which made Serana burst out in laughter. The melodic sound filled my ears, and I couldn't help but smile a little.
"Do you have a napkin or something?" I asked her as I gagged at the smell of it.
"Nope." She said, still with an amused grin on her face.
"You are enjoying my misfortune way too much, Serana," I said as I looked at her, quite annoyed.
"Uhu." She giggled. The sound of her giggling once again made my heart skip a beat.
* I really can't deny her beauty. It almost makes me forget she is a vampire.* I thought as I studied her features.
After a while, her amusement died down, and she handed me a piece of cloth to wipe the birdshit from my shoulder. Then, as the carriage driver approached Rorickstead, I asked the driver to hurry it up a bit. The driver questioned me at first but complied as I put two septims in his hand.
*I really don't want to be caught up again by those villagers. I know I saved them and all, but it's just too much attention.* I thought to myself.
Serana looked at me strangely as if to ask me why I wanted to go faster all of a sudden.
"Why the hurry?" She asked as she quirked her eyebrow.
I sighed as I started explaining it to Serana.
"I just don't want all that attention again, okay. If you haven't noticed already, I like to be left alone." I stated.
"Uhu, you seem to enjoy my company." She said as she gave me a seductive wink.
I pinched my fingers so that there was only a little space left in between them.
" I tolerate you only this much. You are quite annoying, missy." I said, teasing her. That remark earned me a shove in my shoulder.
"Idiot." She said playfully.
We were shaken out of our playful teasing as the carriage came to a grinding halt. I looked over the shoulder of the carriage driver and sighed.
"Bandits," I said to no one in particular.
In front of the carriage stood about ten guys. They all held their weapons and shields at the ready. I nudged Serana and pointed towards the overhanging rocks.
" archers," I whispered to her. She nodded as she softly sneaked out the back of the carriage, sneaking her way up the rocks. Once she was in position, I put on my helmet, unsheathed Nightbane, and grabbed my trusty shield.
I made my way between the carriage and the bandits.
"Give us yer money or pay with yer lives!" The leader shouted.
The threat didn't intimidate me in the slightest. I had dealt with my fair share of bandits back in Cyrodill, and besides, the only real threat her was their leader; otherwise, the rest looked relatively weak.
I scoffed at the remark of the man as I readied my sword and shield.
"Hahaha, are you stupid, man? We outnumber you with ten people. Give us your money!" The man yelled again, seemingly enraged by my defiance.
"Sorry, I'm just out of gold... maybe I can borrow some of yours," I said with an amused tone.
The man's gaze turned into that of pure anger as he started shaking.
"Are you taking the piss with me! Hand over your gold, or we will kill you!" He yelled again, this time with more vigor.
I just waved my sword at him, challenging him to come at me. I briefly looked back to look at where the archers were and were relieved to find that Serana had dealt with them quietly.
*good, the last thing I need is an arrow in my back.* I thought as I turned my attention back towards the bandits.
"GET HIM!" Their leader shouted.
One by one, they ran towards me. I braced myself as the first one came at me. I planted my feet in the ground as strong as I could as he lunged at me. I pushed my shield forward, connecting with the guy's sword, which was slammed to the side. Leaving an opening for me to slash my sword across his torso.
The man cried out in an agonizing scream. As blood splattered out of his fresh wound. I didn't have time to celebrate, however, cause the next two guys were soon upon me. I held the first guy off with my shield, slamming it into his face. As I parried the others guy's sword with my own.
Quickly overpowering him as I slammed down nightbane on him with extreme force. I was surprised at the fact of how easily I overpowered the guy. As he was pushed down, I slammed my shield in his face. A satisfying crunch was heard as his nose simply broke. The guy held his face as he ran off. He didn't get far, however, as a thundering lightning bolt connected with his back.
I looked up to see that Serana was raining down destruction spells on the group of unfortunate bandits. I turned my attention back on the other guy. Which was stumbling, trying to get away from me. He started pleading for his life, but it didn't bother me as I planted nightbane in his chest.
The rest of the bandits seeing that they bit off more than they could chew, ran off, leaving their chief standing there on his own.
He screamed in defiance as he charged me. I simply evaded the swing of his Warhammer. As I rolled to the side, I kicked down on his ankles. Making him fall to his knees, he also started pleading for his life.
"Please-please I won't bother you again!" He yelled.
"No, you won't, but you will hurt others, and I can't allow that," I stated as I thrust nightbane in his chest. He soon fell down as his last breath turned into the awful sound of him choking on his blood.
*I really hate merciless killing like this... but I have no choice. He would have just went on to an easier target.* I thought as I really didn't like to kill.
I sheathed my sword as I walked back towards the carriage. The driver's expression was one of shock as he just looked at me wide-eyed.
"What the fuck! You two are crazy!" He yelled as he was dumbfounded at what he just witnessed.
Serana and I both chuckled as we got back in the cart, which soon began to move again.
The last few hours in the cart were relatively uneventful, and by midday, we approached Morthal.
Once there, we proceeded to move into the town. But something was off as we closed in on the town center. The city seemed grimmer than usual as the townspeople looked at us with a suspicious gaze. In front of the Jarls, longhouse had gathered quite a crowd. The Jarl stood outside with quite a few guards as the townspeople were screaming at her.
" Why won't you take action!" One yelled.
"This is unacceptable!" An immense Nord yelled.
" We demand justice!" Another woman yelled.
We closed in on the ruckus, and I looked at Serana which shrugged her shoulders. We tried making our way through the crowd but didn't get far as a guard spotted us.
"You there with the heavy armor. Stop right there!" He said as he pointed at me.
*great.* I thought as I rolled my eyes.
The crowd soon turned their attention on us as they backed away ever so slightly. An expression of fear was evident on their faces. I looked to my side and saw that Serana was charging up a lightning bolt. I immediately grabbed her arm forcefully and pushed it down. As I shook my head at her.
The guards closed in on us and brought us inside of the Jarls longhouse. Once there, their composure changed from threatening to relaxed as they let us go. I reached up to get my helmet off my head. After that, I looked around. The longhouse wasn't that fancy. There was a hearth fire in the middle of the building, and on both sides of the hall were stairs that led up to a few chambers. The Jarls throne was at the end of the hall, and an older female Nord sat on top of it. Her legs crossed as she held her head up with her hand.
She seemed to study our every move as we closed in on her. Her aura radiated through the hall as she had a sense of mystery surrounding her. What she said next left me completely speechless.
"Hello there, Dragonborn. I require your assistance." She said her voice sounded shrieky and worn out. But there was still a sense of authority in her words.
"We are actually kinda busy," I replied with a bored expression. I was kind of fed up with the Jarls of Skyrim and their incapability to handle their own affairs.
The Jarl didn't seem to take no for an answer.
"And whatever would that be? I see you are also a vampire hunter judging by your armor. So Morthal has a supposed vampire problem, so do your job." She remarked, pointing at my dawnguard armor.
I was pretty taken back by her audacity as I raised my eyebrow at her.
"You seem to have enough guards to handle a vampire. Besides that, we are on a quest to retrieve the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller. We really haven't got time to help you." I replied as I kept looking at her stoic.
The woman stood up out of her seat. And walked over to us. "Well, I don't suppose you know where the crypt is, seeing as you came here."
Once again, this woman was utterly right. I sighed in defeat.
"Fine! What is it that you need assistance with." I replied, getting quite annoyed at this point.
Serana just chuckled a little. I shot her a look, and she tried to look innocent.
"Well, a house burned down yesterday, and we don't know what happened, but the circumstances are quite peculiar." The Jarl replied.
"A house burned down... Is that it? What does this have to do with vampires?" I asked, confused.
The Jarl sighed as she caressed her temple.
" Well, there are rumors that one of our inhabitants is a vampire in disguise. But I can't arrest someone on suspicion alone." She said as her expression turned bitter.
I sighed in annoyance.
"Well, what do you know?"
The Jarl paced around as she started explaining it to us.
"Hroggar supposedly started the fire, but he denies all the allegations. He told me that his wife left the bear fat too close to the fireplace. However, that isn't the most strange thing his wives and daughter's body were still warm, or he already pledged himself to Alva. She might be the key to this mystery." The Jarl explained. "Your best bet is to investigate the burned-down house."
*great, I am being reduced to a homicide investigator.* I thought to myself.
"Do that, and I will tell you where to find that dungeon." She said as she gave us a smile.
Serana and I made our way out of the longhouse, and as soon as we were outside, I started complaining.
"Can you believe that woman?! The audacity of her is immense. As if we don't have anything better to do." I said, extremely agitated.
Serana looked at me with a look of disapproval.
"What?" I said as I raised my eyebrow at her.
"An innocent little girl and her mother burned to death Dracar. They deserve justice." Serana said stoically. As she began to walk out in front of me.
I wanted to reply, but I know she is right, so I decided against it. So instead, I just proceeded to catch up with her as we walked towards the burned-down house.
Once in the house, we began to look around for proof if the fire was deliberately started. A few minutes went by as we searched every nook and cranny.
"Hello there." A little voice spoke up.
I yelped as I turned around, making me fall down on my butt. In front of me stood a translucid figure of a girl. Serana burst out in laughter, making me glare at her.
"Owh, come on, that was hilarious! Never seen a spirit before." She said as she giggled.
"Yeah yeah, very funny! And no, I haven't." I replied, glaring daggers at the female vampire. Which by now was hunched down on her knees talking to the GHOST girl.
"What are you doing here, little girl?" Serana said with a lovely tone. It made my heart flutter a bit, but the little ghost girl still gave me the creeps.
"I am stuck here." The girl replied with a sad tone.
This made me a bit more relaxed as I began to feel sorry for her. *must be terrible not being able to move on* I thought to myself as I stared at the girl with a sympathetic look.
Serana continued. "Why is that? and what happened to you ?" She asked the girl, making sure she sounded as sweet and caring as possible.
The little girl shifted a little in her place. As she had a fearful expression on her ghastly face.
"I can't tell you now...*she* is nearby... Find me after midnight." The girl replied as she seemed to fade out of existence. Leaving me with a dumbfounded expression on my face.
"You are such a little bitch." Serana said with a teasing tone.
"What?! I just get the creeps from everything undead, okay... it is not natural!" I remarked, waving my hands frantically.
Serana raised her eyebrow at me as she put her hands on her hips. Looking at me quite agitated.
"And what is that supposed to mean now, huh?!"
Realizing my mistake as she was a vampire, I wanted to slap myself across the face.
"I... uh... well... excluding you, of course!" I hastily replied, not wanting to anger the female vampire.
Serana began to smile as she nudged my shoulder playfully. "I know that stupid! I just like to make you uncomfortable." She hummed as she strode away from me.
"Curse you, Serana," I said as I quickly followed.
She just laughed it off as she winked at me. Still, that melodic laugh gave me shivers up my spine but in a good way.
"Well, what are we going to do in the meantime?" I asked Serana. "I don't want to be doing nothing waiting for night to come."
Serana seemed to ponder on it for a while.
"Hmm, how about we go to the inn and get something to eat."She replied with a smile.
I looked towards the inn and remembered our first day together. This was the first inn we spent the night in. Remembering my breakdown and Serana hugging me for the first time. I couldn't help but to smile a little. I didn't know why but thinking back to Serana hugging me gave me a warm feeling inside. As I felt heat rise to my cheeks.
Serana seemed to notice and smiled at me.
We made our way in the inn and ordered some horker stew. As we ate, I couldn't help myself to glance over at Serana ever so often. She had a bit of food on the corner of her mouth, and it looked adorable.
*Stop thinking like that. She is still a vampire.* a small voice in my head told me. But I pushed it away as soon as it came.
Serana noticed me staring at me and quirked her eyebrow.
"What? is there something weird about me?" She asked as she began stroking her hair.
I chuckled, and before I knew it, I closed in on Serana and wiped away the food from the corner of her mouth. This left her a bit flustered as a slight blush formed on her cheeks.
"Uhm, thank you...I could have wiped that away myself, you know..." she stuttered as she looked away from me.
I laughed as I nudged her.
"Now, where is the fun in that? I finally have you speechless." I said with a grin on my face.
Her face turned even more red as she slapped my shoulder. "You ass."
"Haha, doesn't the vampire liked to be teased herself?" I laughed as she looked away.
" I will get you back, you know that, right?" She said as she began to smile.
" owh believe me, I know, but every chance I get to tease you is worth it," I replied with a cheeky smile.
She zapped me with a small lightning bolt making me yelp. And we both burst out in laughter.
I don't know why but this felt right.
Serana suddenly changed her demeanor as she looked at me with a severe expression.
"Uhm Dracar... Do you like having me around?" She asked a bit softly, almost as if she was scared for the answer.
I began to think about it. And came to the realization that I immensely enjoyed her company. Ever since I began to travel with her, I felt more relaxed. And less stressed, she really knew how to lighten my mood. Not even mentioning that my night terrors had stopped after a while of us traveling together.
"Uhm Dracar... could you give me an answer? I am getting quite anxious by your silence." She said as her voice trembled a little.
I locked eyes with her and responded.
" I do, actually, besides the fact you are a bloodsucking vampire."
"Very funny Dracar, you don't have to be sarcastic about it." She replied with a hurt tone.
"No, Serana, I mean it. You make me feel more relaxed. Ever since I began traveling with you, I am less stressed out." I replied as my expression softened.
She looked up at me with a surprised expression.
"What? You really mean it?" She said with a high pitch in her tone.
"Yeah. I wouldn't want to travel with someone else... I think." I said as I was more open about it than I liked to admit.
Serana gave me the sweetest smile as she began to hug me. I was a bit shocked by it, but soon I wrapped my hands around her back. A sweet scent filled my nostrils as I smelled her hair.
We soon broke our embrace, and Serana held a small amulet in her hand.
*I am so glad he likes to travel with me!* she thought to herself as a warm feeling filled her chest.
Time flew by, and we finished our meal and enjoyed the soft sound of the lute that filled the inn with music. As I glanced outside the window, I saw that it was dark. We made our way outside and started looking for the little girl. We made our way up a small hill and saw an exposed coffin.
"This can't be good," I told Serana. She nodded and began charging lightning in her left hand. As we cautiously made our way over to the coffin. The little girl appeared in front of us. *This still gives me the creeps.* I thought as a shiver went up to my spine. We sheathed our weapons and approached her.
"You found me!" The girl said excitedly. "Before the other one, that's great."
I raised my eyebrow, looking at the girl with a questioning look.
"The other one?" I asked.
"Yeah, Lealette, she is the one who set the fire."The little girl replied. "She bit me as she wanted us to be together forever. I felt so cold... But then a warm feeling came over me."
I began to feel sorry for her as I gritted my teeth at the thought of a vampire killing the little girl. My entire being filled with rage at that thought as visions of my family shot across my mind.
We were shot out of our conversation as a lightning bolt connected to the ground next to my feet. I scanned around for the source and saw red eyes staring back at me. I looked at Serana. " Let me handle this," I growled as I charged the vampire.
Lealette readied herself but wasn't prepared for the sheer ferocity of my attack. As I swung my sword down at her. Slamming her dagger out of her hand.
She put up a defensive ward to protect herself from my onslaught of swings. But my sword was glowing ferociously as if reacting to my anger. It shattered the ward with one swing as I closed the distance between the female vampire and me. She looked at me, shocked, as I drove Nightbane straight through her chest. It made a sizzling sound as the smell of burning flesh filled the air.
"Die vile beast!" I yelled with spite as I drove Nightbane further in her chest.
Serana looked at the situation, shocked at the tenacity and ferocity of my attacks.
"I think you did the job, Dracar," she told me with a soft tone as she placed a hand on my shoulder.
I glanced over at her with an angry expression which made her step back a bit. Realizing it was Serana got me out of my angry state. I looked at her and saw her shocked expression.
"I am sorry, Serana... I just hate vampires like this." I told her. She just nodded as she patted my back.
"it's okay, Dracar. I understand." She said as she looked at me with an understanding look.
After a while, a man holding a torch came running up the hill.
"Lealette!' He yelled as he sprinted towards us.
"By the divines, what happened to you." He said with tears in his eyes.
I looked at the man with a questioning look.
"Do you know this woman?" I asked him.
The man looked up at me with tears in his eyes. I began to feel a bit sorry now for attacking her like that, but my anger got the better of me.
"This is... no was my fiance. I thought she went off to join the Stormcloak's. She told me that she needed to pick up something at Alva's place before she went. I thought she died in the war..." He stuttered as he held the woman close to his chest.
"Who is this, Alva?" I asked. * hmmm, this is the second time this woman's name was brought up. Maybe she has something to do with this.* I thought to myself.
"She is quite a loner. I found it weird that Lealette had grown close to her cause she used to despise the woman." The man said.
I glanced over at Serana, and she seemed to think precisely the same as I did, as we looked at each other knowingly.
"Well, then maybe it's time we visited this Alva," I said.
The man looked up at me with a pleading look. " please avenge my dear Lealette."
I nodded at the man as I squeezed his shoulder firmly. " I will. Don't you worry, nobody in this town is going to get hurt anymore."
A weak thankyou left the man's mouth as he proceeded to hold the woman close to his chest.
Serana and I made our way back to the town as we strode along the road. We were met with a man who had his axe at the ready. His eyes were distant and glaced, Serana wanted to attack immediately, but I stopped her holding her hand.
"No, he is enthralled. Can you find a way to save him," I asked Serana with a pleading look.
"Why go through all that trouble thralls don't feel a thing it will be difficult to restrain him without killing him." She replied, looking at me questioningly.
" I was in his position once, Serana... He can't control himself. He must feel terrible at the loss of his family, and believe me, I know how that feels. So Serana, please, I beg of you." I asked Serana once again, looking at her with a pleading expression on my face.
Serena's look softened as she remembered my story of how my family died.
"Fine, but don't blame me if you get hurt." She said as she. Froze Hroggar in place with an ice spell.
I bolted towards him. He was swinging his axe violently. Trying his hardest to hit me, I reflected every swing with my shield as I got in close. I grabbed a hold on the arm that was wielding his axe and began starring at him. As I began to speak to him
"I know you can resist this! You lost your family. You must be devastated. I know how you feel. I have lost everything to a vampire! NOW RESIST!" I yelled at the enthralled Nord.
The man resisted at first, but I saw a flicker of light return to the man's eyes.
"Yeah! That's it! Keep resisting. You are stronger than this!" I proceeded.
Serana looked at the display, surprised that it was actually helping, but she still felt a slight pang at her heart. She felt the pain in my words which made her feel guilty for what her father did to me.
The man finally fell down as he looked up at me. Then, eventually, his eyes returned to normal.
"What...what happened?" He asked as he scratched his head. Still dazed by being controlled.
I looked at the man with a sympathetic look.
"You were enthralled by a vampire Hroggar. You should go to the Jarl to explain that. We will deal with the vampire." I said as I patted him on the back."Now, where is Alva's house?"
"Her house is next to the guard barracks." Hroggar weakly said.
We made our way towards the barracks walking on a rotten wooden walkway. Serana suddenly grabbed me by my shoulder and turned me towards her. I looked at her with a confused look but was caught off guard by what she did next. She grabbed me in a tight embrace as she whispered in my ear.
"I am sorry for what my father did to you, Dracar.." she said as she hugged him even more tightly.
"Uhm, Serana... I cant breathe!" I said with a weak tone.
Serana backed away immediately with an embarrassed look on her face.
"Don't worry, Serana, the only one I hold responsible for that is your father, and he is going to pay for it," I said with fire in my voice.
Serena's expression softened at the remark as a smile graced her beautiful face.
"Good! Now let's kill that bitch." Serana replied.
We made our way over to the house, but the door was locked. I didn't feel like picking the lock and mustered all my power as I felt the dragon blood inside of me begin to boil.
**fus ro dah**
A thundering shockwave left my mouth and shattered the door into mere splinters. We both moved inside of the house, bracing our weapons. Once inside, we noticed no one was home.
" strange," Serana spoke up. " I can sense her in here, but she is nowhere to be seen."
"Hmm? maybe she has a secret passageway of some sort, "I said as I was leaning on a shelf. Then, the frame started to give way and broke off the wall revealing a lever.
Serana began to laugh.
" you must be one of the luckiest unlucky person to ever walk, Nirn."
I looked at her with an amused gaze as I stood up tall and proud, going with Serana's antics.
"You know that's kind of my *thing*," I said as proud and powerful as I could before I burst into laughter.
"Now, let's get her," I said as I pulled the lever.
A fake wall opened up, revealing a door.
*damn, this woman must have had a shitload of time on her hands to build that.* I thought as I was pretty amazed at the mechanism.
We opened the wall, and I came face to face with a female vampire, which I presumed was Alva. I tried to grab nightbane, but before I could react, she held my head tightly as she made me look into her eyes.
I felt the familiar feeling of controlling power come over me. I tried my hardest to fight it, but I was soon overcome as my conscious mind pulled away from me.
**no** I internally screamed. As the awful feeling of being controlled came over me yet again.
Serana looked at the display in shock as she saw what the woman was doing. "GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OF HIM BITCH!" She yelled ferociously. But as she said that, she saw me turn around, and her expression turned into that of horror. My eyes were hazy and clouded as I unsheathed Nightbane.
The woman began to laugh at Serana.
"Hahaha, here is a present for you! How about you fight your little boyfriend while I escape." She said with a triumphant tone. " get her, will you." She purred in my ear.
I tried my hardest to stay my hand, but it was useless. The control the woman had over me was too powerful. While I attacked Serana, Alva quickly escaped out of the blown open doorway.
"Get back here bitch!" Serana yelled as she tried to shoot a lightning bolt at the fleeing woman. It just barely missed her.
Serana was soon occupied by my onslaught of slashes. As my body moved without me controlling it.
"Dracar! It is me come to your senses!" Serana yelled as she tried to avoid my attacks.
**ahhh**
She yelled out in pain as Nightbane slashed her arm. Its powerful enchantment leaving a burn mark in its wake.
Serana mustered up a powerful lightning bolt *I am sorry, Dracar...* she thoughts as she shot me.
I felt a sharp pain in my chest as I was flung backward down a flight of stairs. Now I knew why thralls don't seem to feel pain. As all the pain went towards the conscious mind that was pushed back.
The most horrifying part was that my body seemed to get up and charged up the stairs.
*I need to get to a more open area. He is way too deathly in close quarters.* Serana thought to herself as she bolted out of the house.
My mind was racing as I tried to stop my body from moving on its own. It was unresponsive sadly as my body followed Serana out the door.
My mind turned into shock as I felt the familiar feeling of my dragon blood boiling. As my head turned towards the running figure of Serana.
*owh no, you don't!* I internally screamed.
**fus ro dah**
I managed to control my head for long enough to direct the shout towards the side of Serana.
Serana turned around at the sound of me shouting as she looked at the shockwave approaching with a shocked expression. Luckily for her, it only partially hit her, making her stumble quite a bit.
"FUCK DRACAR, ARE YOU TRYING TO GET ME KILLED!" She yelled at my unresponsive body. It didn't respond to her as it bolted towards her.
*I am trying to keep you safe, you know* I internally thought as she said that.
Serana looked at my body running towards her. "Fine! You wanna do it the hard way! Come at me, asshole! if you aren't going to snap out of it yourself, I am going to **slap** some sense in that thick skull of yours." She yelled in defiance as she charged at me.
We locked swords as our fight turned into a deathly dance. My body tried to slash her side, but she parried it. As she did that, she grabbed my arm with her other hand and slammed me over her.
My body swept her off her feet as she fell down. Then, my body began to crawl towards her. She looked up a bit dazed, but I saw her red eyes starting to glow ferociously.
She grabbed my sword arm twisted it with an awful cracking noise. My wrist broke, as this made my body drop the sword, she began to straddle me. My other hand punched her in the face with such power that it made her fly off me.
I felt my entire body aching as my body proceeded to stand up. Serana did the same as she wiped a trail of blood from her beautiful face.
Serena's eyes once again glowed with a fire so ferocious it scared me a little. She once again pounced on top of me. And began straddling me again, my body resisted heavily, but it was no use. She was too strong.
She grabbed ahold of my head and began to shake it violently. "Wake up, idiot, it is me! I know you are in there!"
Light still didn't come back to my eyes, and Serana tried the only thing she could think of. Then, from my hazy vision, I could see Serana come closer to me.
*what the fuck is she doing?**no, you can't be serious** is she going to bite me?!* I screamed in horror internally.
I was soon cut off from my thoughts as I felt the soft touch of her lips on mine. Then, I felt myself being pulled back to reality as my eyes shot open, entirely focused again. Serana seemed to notice and immediately backed away from me.
I began to tremble as visions of my past flashed by the terrible feeling of being controlled again. As flashed of the blood of my family flashed before my eyes. I began to cry heavily. I began to rock back and forth as my vision went blank and tears flowed down my face.
Serana was soon to act as she hurried back to my side, kneeling down in front of me, grabbing hold of me. "Dracar, calm down. You are in shock!" She said as she cupped my face.
I only grew worse as I began to shake even more violently.
*I hate to do this...* Serana thought as she cupped my face again. And cast a calm spell on me soon after I relaxed a bit again. I looked at Serana still with tears in my eyes.
"Thank you..." I weakly said as I fell unconscious.
The following day I awoke in an unfamiliar surrounding. My eyes were darting around the room as I reached for my sword. Which wasn't there. I began to panic a little as I shot up out of bed. Soon after, the door opened up, and the familiar sight of Serana calmed me down.
"Easy there, Dracar. You went out cold yesterday, and you aren't fully recovered yet." Serana remarked as she pointed towards my chest.
I flipped the blanket off me and saw a significant mark on my chest. It almost seemed to resemble a lightning strike.
"Did we get here?" I asked as images of last night flowed back to me. They were broken and incomplete but what I could remember was that she fled out of her house.
Serana crossed her arms as she closed in on me, carefully examining me. "Don't you remember?" She said with a soft, caring tone.
"Not really what happened..." I asked, fearing for the worst.
Serana grimaced at this. She really didn't want me to relive the events of last night. As she seemed to be lost in her thought, I spoke up, getting quite anxious. "Tell me, Serana, what happened," I commanded.
Serana shifted a bit on her feet as she tried not to make eye contact. Finally, she spoke up with a soft apologetic tone. "She enthralled you, Dracar..."
A sick feeling overcame me as I felt my stomach twist. I barely contained the urge to vomit as I held my hand in front of my mouth.
"I managed to snap you out of it, but that bitch escaped." Serana continued, her voice filled with anger. " UGH! I am going to kill that bitch!" She said as she spat venom.
"How did you..." I stuttered. "Did...did I hurt you?" I asked as visions of me killing my family flashed in my mind.
Serena's cheeks turned red at the first question. " I...uhm I.." she stammered.
"You what?" I asked her as I raised my eyebrow.
Serana looked away from me, clearly embarrassed. "I kissed you!" She blurted out.
It was my turn to blush this time as I felt the all too familiar heat rise to my face. I quickly regained my composure, however, as my gaze softened at the female vampire.
"Cheeky." I teasingly said.
Serana instantly turned around as her face expressed a bit of panic. " I didn't know what to do! And you just wouldn't snap out of it... I couldn't think of another way!" She said as she tried to defend herself.
I began to smile at Serana. " I am just teasing you."
Serana slapped my arm.
" Hey! That hurts!"
"Serves you right for joking around at a time like this!" Serana snapped back at me.
I laughed a little. As I looked at her, my expression turned into that of gratitude.
"Thank you, Serana," I said sincerely.
Serana smiled at me as she softly cupped my face.
"Anything for *my* sweet soft-hearted Dragonborn." She said, making sure to put emphasis on the word my, as she winked at me.
I felt that feeling of my heartbeat rising, a feeling that by now was all too familiar to me. Since I began traveling with Serana.
"Any idea to where she might have gone?" I asked, turning our lighthearted conversation serious.
Serana rubbed her temple.
"The Jarl thinks she went to a close-by cave. It's a long shot, but it might be worth checking out. I have a bone to pick with that vampire bitch." She said the last part was a bit protective.
"Well, let's get going then," I said as I tried to get up. Serana pushed me back down on the bed. "You, sir, aren't going anywhere. I will handle this one. You stay back and heal up." Serana said with a commanding tone.
"I won't let you go there on your own," I said in defiance as I tried getting back up. But the pain in my chest made me fall of the bed. I looked up at Serana which was looking at me with an unimpressed expression.
"You are going nowhere. You cant even get out of your bed let stand handle a den full of vampires." Serana said as she lectured me. " you seem to forget I am a mighty vampire, not some damsel in distress, Dracar. I can handle it."
*yeah, that's right... how stupid of me, old vampire equals powerful vampire. And I knew Serana was very old* I thought to myself.
I sighed in defeat.
"Fine... but Don't get yourself killed! You hear me?!" I said with a commanding tone.
Serana just winked at me.
"Awh, come on, Dracar, I can't die, yet I have so much time left to torture and tease you. I don't have time to die," she said as she flicked my nose.
I rolled my eyes. "Just come back safe, okay."
Serana nodded as she walked out of the room.
"God, that woman is hard-headed," I muttered to myself. *Just like you.* A voice in my mind spoke up.
Serana strode out of the town with superhuman speed. Her mind was set on just one thing *revenge*.
"Now, with Dracar not here, I will show them what I am capable of." She said to herself as she ran toward the direction of the cave.
Once there, she was met with a thrall she mustered a powerful lightning bolt. Making the poor guy explode in blood and viscera. The female vampire was filled with rage as she entered the cave, quickly making short work with the thralls which tried to stop her. She fought elegantly as she strode through the cave. Killing thralls left, and right, it looked like a dance, a *deathly * one.
The thralls dropped like flies before her. Serana spotted a small entrance that led to a more extensive cavern. A table was situated in the middle of the cave as its occupants looked up in shock at Serana.
"Well, hello there," Serana said dangerously.
Bright flashes of light lit up the cavern as Serana shot lightning bolt after lightning bolt. The smell of burning skin and blood filled the air as the vampires died one by one.
Serana finally spotted her target as she saw Alva running away with an expression of terror on her face. Serana shot a burst of ice at the female vampire. As the air turned cold, the feet of Alva were frozen in place.
Serana walked up to her slowly with every step she made. Made the female vampire scream in terror.
"NO... PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU!" Alva yelled.
"To fucking late bitch." Serana replied, her voice filled with fury. Which scared Alva to the core.
"I told you to get your hands of him." Serana spat at the trembling vampire as she grabbed Alva by the neck. Then, lifting her up, breaking the ice.
Alva tried to slash Serana, but it was futile. Instead, Serana tore into her neck. As she separated Alva's head from her skull. Blood spattered all over Serana's face as her eyes glowed a fierce red.
"Pathetic." She said as she flung Alva's head to the side.
Welp, this is it, guys! Chapter nine, I believe.. what a chapter. Serana went full beast mode on those vampires.
