Harry stared at the strange-looking creature. She had big eyes and bat-like ears and was wearing a light green tea cozy. He had never seen anything like her before and although he knew it was rude to stare, he couldn't stop. He barely registered what she had called him.
"What did you just call him?" Lucius snapped, his eyes flashing.
"She's probably dipped into the Butterbeer again," Draco said with a snicker.
"Draco!" Narcissa admonished before looking at the house elf. "Tipsey, you know bringing Hadrian up is painful for us." She said softly. Of course, not a day went by that they didn't miss Hadrian and wonder what had happened to him. But it was still painful to talk about.
Tipsey pointed at Harry with a shaky finger. "He is Hadrian. Tipsey knows because Tipsey…" The house-elf's big eyes filled with tears. "Tipsey stole him and glamoured him before leaving him on the Potter's doorstep." She wailed, tugging on her ears. She couldn't keep the secret anymore, not with Hadrian finally back home!
"What?" Narcissa gasped.
"You stole my brother?" Draco practically shouted. He missed his twin, even though they had been so young when separated. He had always believed that his brother was alive somewhere, he could feel it. But for it to be Potter?
"Tipsey, you are not making sense. You are loyal to us, why would you do such a thing?" Lucius asked in shock. Never, absolutely never had it occurred to him that one of his house-elves had taken Hadrian.
"Who is Hadrian?" Harry asked loudly. What were they all talking about?
"My twin brother," Draco said, looking at Harry intently. "But there is no way you are him." He shook his head. It just couldn't be...could it?
"Of course not. Do I look like a blonde?" Harry asked sarcastically. Malfoy had a twin? he wondered.
"Hadrian wasn't blonde. He had dark brown hair and his eyes were blue-gray," Narcissa murmured, her heart racing. Could it be? "He and Draco were fraternal twins." She told Harry.
"The dark lord commanded me to kill one of your sons the night of your party to celebrate your babies," Tipsey said tearfully. "If Tipsey didn't, he would kill all of you. I'm bound to protect the Malfoy family and I's couldn't let that happen! So I's took Master Hadrian. But Tipsey couldn't kill him, so when I heard of a family looking to adopt, I charmed him to look like them. I's left him on their doorstep with a note saying if they didn't keep him and claim him as their own, he would be killed. In the letter, I told them his name was Harry, as it is somewhat close to Hadrian. And so James and Lily Potter kept him," she whispered. She looked at Harry. "Why do you have a bruise?" She asked suddenly.
"My uncle," Harry said faintly. The elf had to be lying, right? He couldn't be this Hadrian person, could he? James and Lily Potter were his parents. Weren't they?
Tipsey's eyes widened. "He hurts you?" she whispered in horror. She had tried to keep an eye on Hadrian over the years but had only managed to get a glimpse of him now and then.
Harry shrugged. "Well, yeah. They all do."
Narcissa gave a strangled cry. "If this is true, how could you have done this?" She demanded of Tipsey. "We trusted you!"
"The dark lord said -"
"I don't care!" Narcissa yelled. "Did you really kidnap Hadrian?"
"Tipsey is so sorry," Tipsey said tearfully. "Yous can make a paternity potion to know for sure if you don't believe me. But he is Hadrian, he is your son. Or I can take the glamour off of him -" She pointed her hands at Harry.
"No!" Harry took a step back. "Don't do anything to me." He said in a shaky voice.
Tipsey lowered her hands, looking crestfallen.
Lucius took a deep breath and glanced at Narcissa. "I will floo call Severus and we will get this straightened out." He said, moving to the floo.
Narcissa nodded, looking at Harry. Was this her child? Her baby? Is that why she and Lucius felt so protective of him? Why Draco has felt so connected to him?
"He can't be Hadrian," Draco argued. "He's a Gryffindor!"
"My cousin was sorted into Gryffindor," Narcissa murmured. "It can happen, that family members are sorted into different houses."
"Like the Patil twins," Harry said faintly. "Padma is in Ravenclaw and Parvati is in Gryffindor."
"Yes, it can happen," Narcissa said, studying Harry.
Green flames erupted in the fireplace. "What is Potter doing here?" Snape snapped as soon as he stepped through the floo. He glared at the child and Harry glared right back at him.
"Why is that git here?" Harry asked hotly. First, he was in Malfoy Manor, then was told he was one of them. And now Snape was here!
"How dare you -" Snape began to snarl.
"Enough!" Lucius took a deep breath. "Severus, according to Tipsey Mr. Potter is really Hadrian. We need you to brew a paternity potion and do the identification spell."
"You can't be serious," Snape said flatly. "Your house-elf is probably drunk on Butterbeer again."
"That's what I said, Uncle Severus!" Draco spoke up.
Tipsey looked ashamed yet determined. "I is not drunk on anything. I gave Hadrian to the Potters to protect all of yous." she insisted. "The dark lord said he wanted his followers to have one child only."
"This boy is not smart enough to be your son," Snape scoffed to Lucius and Narcissa. "Trust me, I have him in class and have had to read his essays. Any child of yours would naturally be intelligent like Draco is."
Harry felt his temper rise. "McGonagall went over my grades with me. I got all E's and O's except for History of Magic and your stupid class." He spat out.
"Detention!" Snape barked out.
"It's summer!" Harry scoffed. Snape really was mental.
"What did you get in Potions?" Draco asked curiously.
"An A," Harry muttered, still glaring at Snape. He would have done better if Snape hadn't been looming over him as he worked and snapping at him all the time.
"And History of Magic?"
"I'd rather not say," Harry said, embarrassed. He turned his glare on Draco as the blonde smirked at him.
"I got all O's except for a couple of E's," Draco bragged.
"Hermione got all O's," Harry shot back. "Not even one E."
"That frizzy-haired know-it-all muggle-born -"
Harry whipped his wand out of his back pocket and pointed it wand at Draco. "Shut up, you bloody -"
"Stop that!" Narcissa exclaimed, snatching Harry's wand from him. "Please watch your language," She scolded Harry. "And Draco, there is no need to insult one of his friends." She said sternly.
"Give me back my wand," Harry said, fear filling him as his only means of defense was in her hand. "I need it to protect myself."
"No one here is going to hurt you," Narcissa told him.
"I don't believe you," Harry whispered.
"You are not in danger with us," Lucius spoke up. He looked at Severus. "Please brew the potion."
"I will and it will prove he is not Hadrian," Snape said briskly. He paused. "Why do you have a bruise on your face, Potter?" He asked with a frown.
Harry shrugged, not wanting Snape to know how his relatives treated him. It was bad enough that Draco knew.
"His Uncle hit him when he met them on the platform," Lucius said. "We intervened and brought him here."
"His relatives hurt him?" Snape asked in surprise.
"They were abusing him before he even got into that weird muggle carriage," Lucius said.
"It is called a car, Lucius," Snape said, eyeing Harry shrewdly. "Give me an hour and I'll be back with the potion." He hesitated. "When it shows he is not Hadrian, he will have to be returned to his relatives."
Harry paled. He wasn't sure he wanted to stay in this house but he knew for sure he didn't want to go back to Privet Drive.
"No," Narcissa said firmly. "Those muggles hate magic and they hate the child. They hurt him."
"He's protected there," Snape said. He paused. If the boy was Hadrian, then he had never been safe there. The Blood Wards would not have worked. But Albus surely would know that so what was the real story?

After applying some bruise balm to Harry's cheek, Narcissa arranged for Harry and Draco to have juice and biscuits as they waited for Snape to return. No one really spoke much so Harry just admired the room as he enjoyed his snack. He could see the backyard from where he was sitting and it was huge! He bet Draco could fly there whenever he wanted. Lucky sod, he thought with some envy.
They all looked relieved when Snape emerged from the floo, holding a vial in his hand. Finally, they would get some answers.
After borrowing a bowl to pour the vial into, Snape said, "All three of you will put a drop of blood into the potion," He said. "If Potter is the son of only one of you, it will turn lilac. If he is the son of both of you, it will turn a dark green. If he is not the son of either of you, it will turn clear. Depending on the outcome, I will say the spell to make sure."
"Why can't you just say the spell?" Draco asked.
"It only works after the potion is completed," Snape explained. "I will dip my wand in the potion before incanting the spell."
Lucius and Narcissa put their blood in and then Snape gently pricked Harry's finger to include his blood. They all anxiously waited as the potion bubbled. It finally simmered down and turned a dark green.
"Merlin," Narcissa said weakly, leaning against Lucius.
Snape, shocked at the result, dipped the end of his wand into the potion and then pointed it at Harry, noting that the boy slightly flinched. "Tuum Verum Identitatis." He spoke.
A mist of words formed above Harry. Hadrian Severus Malfoy.
"So it's true!" Draco burst out. His brother was alive and was Potter! He stared at Harry in shock.
Harry stared at the words as they slowly faded away. Hadrian Severus Malfoy. "Severus is my middle name?" He asked numbly.
"Yes, to honor your godfather," Lucius said softly, nodding to Snape. "He is godfather to both of you."
"My Godfather. Right," Harry shook his head. "This is mental. I don't believe it. I won't! I heard that you support Voldemort and he's tried to kill me twice!" Harry's eyes went wide and he took a step back. "You'll kill me," he whispered in horror. They were Voldemort's followers, weren't they? That's what Ron had said. What had he been thinking, leaving the platform with them? Coming to their house?
"No, Hadr – Harry you don't understand!" Narcissa said, desperate to comfort him. Her baby was alive! She approached him. "Please don't be afraid of me," She begged. "I would never hurt you. None of us will hurt you." Tears streamed down her cheeks as she looked at her son.
Harry stopped backing up but he was shaking slightly. He stood stiff as Narcissa put her arms around him but soon found himself relaxing, the hug felt good. It somehow felt safe. He slowly put his arms around her and hugged her back.
"My baby is alive and well," Narcissa whispered into his hair. "I'm so happy to have you home. We missed you so much."
Harry couldn't help but snuggle into her embrace. He didn't remember ever being held like this before.

"What about his appearance?" Draco asked finally.
"Only Tipsey can change it back," Tipsey spoke up. "Elf magic is strong magic."
"Then do so," Lucius said coldly to her. "And then I will give you clothes."
Tipsey burst into noisy tears. "No, Master Lucius! Please no!" She begged.
"What's wrong with getting clothes?" Harry asked in confusion. "I always wished I would get -" He paused. "I mean, everyone wants clothes right?" he finished lamely.
"Is that why your clothes looked so ragged?" Draco asked bluntly. "Those muggles don't buy you clothes?"
"Draco," Lucius groaned. "Some decorum, please."
"Did those muggles buy you clothes?" Narcissa asked Harry gently.
"No, I got my cousin – well, I guess he isn't my cousin," Harry said, contemplating that for a second. "I got Dudley's old clothes." he shared, trying to look unbothered by it.
"He must be quite bigger than you. Aren't you the same age?" Snape asked, finally finding his voice after the shock of finding out that Potter was really Hadrian.
Harry nodded and stifled a laugh. "Oh yeah, he's bigger. They actually feed him." He slapped a hand over his mouth. He hadn't meant to say that. Merlin, he was becoming Hagrid blurting out things he shouldn't!
Narcissa and Lucius exchanged a furious look.
"Please forgive Tipsey! I's a good elf, I tried to protect you!" Tipsey cried noisily. "I tried to protect Hadrian! Tipsey didn't know he would be abused, please forgive Tipsey!" She began banging her head against the wall.
"Stop!" Harry yelled in alarm. "Tipsey, stop! Please!" He looked pleadingly at Lucius. "Please make her stop hurting herself."
"Tipsey, stop that," Lucius ordered. "Remove the glamour." He demanded after she stopped.
"If that is okay with you, Harry," Narcissa said, shooting her husband a pointed look. "It's your decision. Do you want to see your real appearance now or wait? I know all of this is a shock for you. It is for us too"
Harry hesitated. He didn't understand any of this but he couldn't deny the potion results or spell that spelled out his name. He was really a Malfoy, as unbelievable as that seemed. "It's okay, I'm ready," he said.
"Tipsey, remove his glamour," Lucius said again.
They all watched anxiously as Tipsey began waving her hands in front of Harry. Slowly yet surely, the boy's appearance began to change. His skin became paler, his cheekbones higher, his jaw more defined. His hair lightened from black to a cool brown, laying flat instead of messy, and his green eyes changed to a clear blue-gray.
Snape inhaled sharply while Narcissa gave a gasp. Lucius stared at him and Draco immediately went right up to Harry.
"Hadrian," Draco whispered in awe. Harry really was his brother! He hugged him. He had his brother back!
Harry was shocked to have Draco hugging him but he tentatively hugged him back. This is so surreal, he thought. As soon as Draco let go, he was wrapped in Lucius's arms.
"My son," Lucius said thickly. "You're home. You're finally home."
Narcissa put her arms around both of them, crying tears of happiness. Their family was finally whole again.
