Arc 1: The First Real Mission

Chapter 4: The C Rank Mission!

Naruto Uchiha awoke to the first light of dawn peeking through the cracks of his bedroom window. The black-haired boy rubbed his eyes, still feeling the lingering traces of sleep, as he recalled the vivid dream he had last night.

Yawning, Naruto sat up and stretched his arms above his head, his muscles protesting from the previous day's intense training. With a determined grin, he swung his legs over the side of the bed and planted his feet firmly on the cool wooden floor. He took a moment to gather his thoughts before beginning his morning routine.

Knowing the importance of personal hygiene, Naruto headed straight to the bathroom to relieve himself and wash his face. He splashed cold water onto his face, the shock of the cool liquid bringing him fully awake. He then brushed his teeth diligently, making sure to reach every corner of his mouth to maintain a healthy smile.

Naruto returned to his room and opened his wardrobe, selecting an outfit suitable for a day of training. He donned a black shirt and a pair of white shorts, the Uchiha clan symbol proudly displayed on his back. He made sure to wear comfortable and durable footwear, lacing up his ninja sandals to provide support for his agile movements.

Once dressed, the young Uchiha grabbed his forehead protector and tied it securely around his head, a symbol of his dedication to becoming a successful shinobi. He glanced at his reflection in the mirror, the bright blue eyes staring back at him filled with hope and determination.

Just as Naruto was about to leave his room, Sasuke Uchiha, his cousin and teammate, opened the door. With a nod, the two boys headed out together towards Training Ground 7, their breath visible in the chilly morning air.

Upon arrival, Naruto and Sasuke found Mito Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno already waiting at the training grounds. Mito, the redheaded daughter of the deceased Kushina Uzumaki, stood tall and proud, her golden honey eyes sparkling with anticipation. Sakura, with her bubblegum-pink hair and determined expression, greeted Naruto and Sasuke with a friendly smile.

The four young ninjas stood together, exchanging stories of their previous day's challenges and successes, as they patiently awaited the arrival of their sensei, Kakashi Hatake. The sun slowly began to rise above the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the training grounds, signaling the start of a new day filled with potential and growth for Team SevenPlus.

Naruto thought back through the last month with his Genin squad. They've completed D rank mission after D rank mission, never really facing any true danger. He remembered when Kakashi had taught the team tree climbing, a technique that Sakura had surprisingly excelled at. Naruto couldn't help but chuckle at the memory.

Lost in thought, Naruto was brought back to reality when Kakashi finally arrived at the training grounds. Mito and Sakura immediately yelled at him for being late... again.

"Kakashi-sensei, you're always late!" Sakura exclaimed, clearly annoyed.

Mito chimed in, "Yeah, what's your excuse this time?"

Kakashi scratched his head sheepishly and replied, "Well, you see, there was this old lady who needed help crossing the street, and then her cat got stuck in a tree, so I had to help her with that too."

As Mito and Sakura groaned at Kakashi's tiresome excuses, Kakashi pulled out a checklist and started reading off D rank missions, like scrubbing walls, tree removal, and babysitting.

Feeling frustrated, Mito decided to speak up. "Kakashi-sensei, can we go on a real mission? You know, something more challenging?" The rest of the Genin nodded in agreement.

Kakashi thought about it for a minute, carefully considering his students' abilities. He looked at each of them, noticing the determination in their eyes. "Alright," he said finally, "I'll request a higher-ranked mission for us. But remember, it won't be easy."

The four young ninja nodded eagerly, excited for the chance to prove themselves on a more difficult assignment. Little did they know what challenges awaited them.

In the Hidden Valley Village of River Country, a series of devastating flash floods had been wreaking havoc. The leader of the village, Kojiro, was desperate to find a solution. Having experienced the chaos of war as a child during the Third Shinobi War, Kojiro knew the importance of solving this issue. He decided to travel to Konoha to enlist the help of skilled ninja to investigate the cause of the floods and put an end to them.

Upon arriving in Konoha, Kojiro met with the Third Hokage, Hiruzen, and Iruka to request a team's assistance. At the same time, Kakashi had been requesting a C-rank mission for his team, comprising Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Mito. Hiruzen and Iruka saw this as the perfect opportunity to assign Team Seven to help Kojiro.

As Team Seven was summoned to meet with Hiruzen and Iruka, they stood before their superiors, eager to receive their new mission. Iruka addressed the group, "Team Seven, you have been assigned a C-rank mission. Kojiro, the leader of the Hidden Valley Village, has come to Konoha to request your help in investigating the cause of the recent flash floods in their region."

Hiruzen added, "It is essential that you find out what is causing these floods and put an end to it, as it is causing significant damage to the village and its surroundings."

Kakashi, Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, and Mito listened intently. At that moment, Kojiro entered the room, a tall man with a lean, muscular build and short, dark hair. He had a scar running down his left cheek, a constant reminder of the hardships he had experienced during the war.

Kojiro looked down at the young ninja and laughed at their height. "So, these are the mighty ninja from Konoha? You're just a bunch of kids!"

Mito, feeling insulted, snapped back at Kojiro. "What's so funny, huh? We may be young, but we're more than capable of handling this mission!"

Naruto saw that Mito was about to lose her temper and quickly grabbed her arm, pulling her back from attacking Kojiro. "Mito, calm down. We're here to help, remember?"

Kakashi stepped forward, trying to diffuse the situation. "Kojiro-san, our team is skilled and ready to take on this mission. We will do our best to find the cause of the flash floods and put an end to them."

Kojiro raised an eyebrow, still amused by their youthful appearances but decided to give them a chance. "Very well, let's see what you can do. We'll be counting on you, Team SevenPlus."

Naruto and Sasuke exchanged determined glances, ready to prove their worth on this mission. With Kojiro's approval, Team Seven set out to uncover the truth behind the mysterious flash floods plaguing the Hidden Valley Village.

Team Seven, along with Kojiro, set out from Konoha on their journey towards the Land of Rivers. As they left the familiar surroundings of the Land of Fire, they couldn't help but notice the drastic change in scenery. The lush forests and warm climate of their home were replaced by the cooler, more arid landscapes of River Country.

Kakashi led the group, with Kojiro walking beside him, while Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Mito followed closely behind. As they continued their journey, the team marveled at the crystal-clear rivers that were characteristic of this region. The rivers sparkled under the sun, their beauty captivating the young ninja.

During their travel, the group engaged in conversations, sharing stories and experiences to pass the time. Kojiro, despite his initially cold demeanor, began to open up to the group, telling them about his life in the Hidden Valley Village and the challenges they faced due to the flash floods.

As the sun began to set, Kakashi decided it was time to stop for the night. They set up camp near one of the pristine rivers, its gentle flow providing a soothing backdrop to their evening. As the group gathered around the campfire, they enjoyed a meal together and continued their conversations, getting to know each other better.

Sakura turned to Kojiro, "I've never seen rivers and valleys this beautiful before. It's no wonder your village is called the Hidden Valley Village."

Kojiro smiled, "Yes, it's one of the things that make our village special. But the floods have been threatening our way of life, which is why your help is so important."

Mito chimed in, "Don't worry, Kojiro-san. We'll do our best to find the cause of the floods and put an end to them."

After a night of rest and bonding, the group woke up early the next morning, eager to continue their journey. With renewed determination, they packed up their camp and set off towards the Hidden Valley Village.

As they drew closer to their destination, the landscape became more rugged and the rivers' flow grew stronger. The team proceeded cautiously, aware of the potential dangers that the terrain presented.

Suddenly, Naruto felt a shiver run down his spine, as if someone were watching him. He glanced around, trying to spot anything out of the ordinary, but everything seemed normal.

"Naruto, is everything okay?" Sasuke asked, noticing his cousin's unease.

"I don't know," Naruto replied, still scanning their surroundings. "I just have this weird feeling like we're being watched."

Kakashi, overhearing the conversation, advised the team, "Stay alert, everyone. We're getting closer to the village, and the pathways for us are getting more dangerous with the rivers so high up. We don't know what we might encounter."

The group continued to move forward, their senses heightened as they navigated the increasingly treacherous terrain. Despite Naruto's unsettling feeling, they pressed on, determined to reach the Hidden Valley Village and fulfill their mission.

As Team Seven and Kojiro crossed a river on an old wooden bridge, Sakura suddenly slipped as the plank she stepped on broke due to its age. Kakashi acted quickly, grabbing her arm and pulling her to safety. The team paused for a moment in the middle of the bridge, relieved that Sakura was unharmed.a

However, their relief was short-lived as a storm rolled in unexpectedly. Thunder boomed, and a lightning bolt struck the bridge, shattering it into pieces. Team Seven and Kojiro were caught off guard and consumed by the powerful tide of the river. The raging waters separated them, carrying them off to different parts of River Country.

Naruto Uchiha regained consciousness on a riverbank, coughing up water as Mito Uzumaki performed CPR on him. Once he had caught his breath, he looked around and realized they were alone. "Where did everyone go?" he asked Mito, worry evident in his voice.

Before Mito could answer, the scene switches to the rest of the group. Kakashi, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kojiro had managed to find each other and were pulling themselves together. Their first priority was to locate Naruto and Mito.

"Let's start searching the area," Kakashi suggested. "We need to find Naruto and Mito as soon as possible."

As they began their search, Kakashi summoned his ninja hound, Pakkun, hoping he could sniff out their missing teammates. Unfortunately, Pakkun informed them that the water had washed away Naruto and Mito's scents, making it impossible to track them.

Kakashi, however, remembered that he had given Naruto a map of River Country. "Alright, everyone, we'll continue on to the Hidden Valley Village. Naruto and Mito should have the map, so they'll likely head there as well," he said, trying to reassure the group.

The remaining members of Team Seven and Kojiro pressed on, making their way towards the Hidden Valley Village, hoping to reunite with Naruto and Mito. Along the way, they discussed their plans and shared their concerns about the mission, as well as the unexpected challenges they had faced so far.

"I never thought we'd have to deal with something like this," Sakura said, her voice tremulous. "I just hope Naruto and Mito are okay."

"We'll find them," Kakashi assured her. "We're a team, and we'll get through this together." Sasuke grunted.

Back with Naruto and Mito

Naruto Uchiha and Mito Uzumaki found themselves stranded on the muddy banks of a wide river. They were disoriented and soaked to the bone, but determined to make their way to the Hidden Valley Village. As they picked themselves up, they surveyed their surroundings, noting the towering cliffs and valleys that seemed to stretch endlessly in every direction. The landscape was both breathtaking and treacherous, with steep inclines and slippery rocks that made every step a challenge. Naruto went through his bag and found his map Kakashi had given him.

"Hey, Mito," Naruto said, catching his breath. "Thanks for saving me back there. I don't know what I would've done without you."

Mito smiled warmly, her golden honey eyes shining with determination. "We're teammates, Naruto. We look out for each other. Now, let's find the others and complete our mission."

As they started their journey, Naruto and Mito followed the river's course, hoping it would eventually lead them to the village. They crossed several smaller tributaries, carefully balancing on slippery stones and using their chakra to keep themselves from being swept away by the powerful currents. The rivers seemed to snake through the valleys like silver ribbons, carving their way through the earth and creating steep, narrow gorges.

As they continued their trek, they were forced to scale several cliffs, using their well-honed ninja skills to cling to the sheer rock faces. Naruto's Sharingan eyes helped them navigate the treacherous terrain, allowing him to spot hidden footholds and avoid loose rocks that threatened to send them plummeting to the ground below. Mito followed closely behind to avoid falling. They remained steady on their arduous climb.

During their journey, Naruto and Mito engaged in light-hearted banter, keeping each other's spirits up and strengthening their bond as teammates. Naruto couldn't help but feel grateful for Mito's unwavering support and friendship, which had been a constant source of encouragement since they first met.

As they traversed yet another valley, the duo came across a stunning waterfall cascading from a high cliff. They paused for a moment, admiring the beauty of the scene before them, but knew they couldn't afford to linger. Time was of the essence, and their teammates were depending on them.

As the sun began to set, casting an orange glow on the surrounding cliffs, Naruto and Mito found themselves navigating a particularly treacherous stretch of rocky terrain. They were tired and sore, but they pressed on, determined to reach the Hidden Valley Village and reunite with their friends.

Suddenly, from the shadows of a nearby cliff, a masked ninja appeared. The figure wore a dark grey, form-fitting outfit, and a sinister matte blue devil mask that covered their entire face. The mask was adorned with intricate patterns, and the eyes were concealed behind silver reflective lenses, making it impossible to discern the ninja's true identity.

The mysterious assailant wasted no time, immediately launching a barrage of shuriken at Naruto and Mito.

Naruto heard the wind's distortion and told Mito to move. The two young ninja instinctively leaped into action, dodging the deadly projectiles and counterattacking with their own array of jutsus.

"Who are you?" Naruto asked out loud.

The Blue Devil looked at the two genin, "Naruto Uchiha," the man pointed at him, "you are more famous than you think. I will waste no time here and take you out."

"You can try!" Naruto yelled determinedly. "Mito, I'll handle this poser!" He said with confidence.

Naruto's Sharingan flared to life, granting him enhanced perception and reflexes as he exchanged blows with the masked enemy. Mito watched the exchange waiting for the moment to strike the masked ninja.

The battle between Naruto Uchiha and the Blue Devil masked ninja was a fierce clash of opposing elements and strength. Naruto, with his two tomoe Sharingan eyes activated, quickly assessed his opponent's abilities and prepared to employ his exceptional fire style techniques.

"Child, you are strong, but I am beyond strength." The Blue Devil spoke. "You have yet to tap into your true power! Until you do so, defeating someone like myself will never happen." The Blue Devil lectured.

"What would you know about true power?" The first ever blue eyed Uchiha asked.

The Blue Devil wasted no time, demonstrating his phenomenal abilities in Water Style jutsu. He unleashed a powerful Water Dragon Bullet, a concentrated blast of water shaped like a dragon, aimed directly at Naruto. Naruto countered with his Great Fireball Jutsu, creating a massive ball of fire that collided with the water dragon, producing a cloud of steam that temporarily obscured their vision.

"A wise counter," the Blue Devil spoke. "You are intelligent in combat. You are indeed a true Uchiha, your masters must be proud of you. Which Uchiha trained you?" The Blue Devil asked.

Naruto's dark aura once again flared. "He will not be mentioned by name. The clan slayer trained me. As well as Shisui of the Shunshin trained me." Naruto answered.

"I see, the two most powerful Uchiha in the modern era since Madara and Izuna. Your strength is a testament to their ability. If you had a better master perhaps you would've been able to win." The Blue Devil said.

Both combatants were fast and agile, but the Blue Devil had the edge in terms of raw speed and strength. Naruto's Sharingan allowed him to keep up, predicting his opponent's movements and reacting accordingly. The masked ninja continued to press his advantage, using a Water Release: Water Colliding Wave technique to create a massive tidal wave that threatened to engulf Naruto.

Naruto, unfazed, responded with his Dragon Flame Jutsu, sending a stream of fire that split the oncoming wave in half, narrowly avoiding being swept away. Still, the masked ninja's relentless assault challenged Naruto's stamina and pushed him to his limits.

Throughout the battle, Mito observed from a safe distance, analyzing the masked ninja's fighting style and searching for an opening to exploit. She knew that she needed to choose the perfect moment to intervene, or risk putting both herself and Naruto in danger.

As the fight raged on, the Blue Devil unleashed his third Water Style technique, the Water Release: Water Severing Wave, which sent a sharp, high-pressure stream of water aimed at Naruto's vital points. Naruto countered with his Phoenix Flower Jutsu, creating a flurry of small fireballs that collided with the water stream, producing an intense burst of steam.

The Blue Devil took advantage of the momentary confusion to close the gap, delivering a series of devastating blows that left Naruto reeling. Naruto's Sharingan allowed him to anticipate some of the attacks, but the masked ninja's superior speed and strength were starting to wear him down.

"It's over." The Blue Devil spoke.

As the Blue Devil prepared for a final, lethal strike, Mito saw her opportunity. She quickly created 25 shadow clones, which charged at the masked ninja from all directions. The sudden onslaught caught the Blue Devil off-guard, forcing him to abandon his attack on Naruto and defend himself against the swarm of Mito's clones.

"Until we meet again Naruto."

Realizing that he was now at a disadvantage, the masked ninja deployed a smoke bomb, using the cover to make a swift escape. As the smoke cleared, Mito and Naruto were left standing among the scattered remnants of the battlefield, both breathing heavily from their exertions.

Naruto looked at Mito with gratitude, knowing that her timely intervention had saved his life. Together, they took a moment to recuperate, gathering their strength for the challenges that still lay ahead in their journey to the Hidden Valley Village.

Kakashi, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kojiro journey to the Hidden Valley Village to investigate the cause of the recent floods. Upon arriving, they find the village completely submerged in water, leaving Kojiro devastated and speechless. The rest of the team shares in his sorrow, but their mourning is cut short when a group of masked ninja appear.

Kakashi notes that he doesn't recognize the style of their masks, implying they may not be affiliated with any known village. The masked ninja remain silent and immediately attack Team Seven. Kakashi, Sasuke, and Sakura engage in battle, skillfully defending themselves and managing to defeat half of the attackers. The remaining masked ninja, realizing they are outmatched, decide to retreat.

With the immediate threat neutralized, Team Seven now has to focus on uncovering the cause of the floods and find out more about the mysterious masked ninja.

Kakashi turns to Kojiro and asks, "Kojiro, do you have any idea who could be behind those masks, or if you recognize the group?"

Kojiro shakes his head, replying, "I can't say I recognize any familiar features that would help uncover their identity."

"Alright," Kakashi accepts, and the team proceeds to build their camp.

The campsite consists of a few tents set up in a small clearing, with a fire pit in the center for cooking and warmth. The tents are simple yet sturdy, providing enough shelter for the team. The scenery around them is a mix of lush greenery and muddy terrain, a result of the recent floods.

As they finish setting up camp, Naruto and Mito arrive, both covered in mud and visibly exhausted. Naruto's black shirt, adorned with the Uchiha crest on the back, and his white shorts are soaked and stained with mud. Mito's black bodysuit and orange skirt are similarly dirtied. The others noticed Naruto's body had damage all over.

Kakashi asks for a report, and Naruto, with a hint of frustration in his voice, explains, "After Mito and I got separated from you guys, we were attacked by a ninja in a blue devil mask. He was faster, stronger, and more experienced than me. Even with my Sharingan, I could barely keep up. Mito used her clones to deliver a barrage of attacks, forcing the blue devil to retreat."

Sasuke listens intently, feeling a pang of concern and competitiveness as he hears that someone almost easily dispatched Naruto.

Mito, catching her breath, checks in with Sakura, asking, "Are you okay, Sakura?"

Kakashi shares with Naruto that their group was also attacked by unknown masked ninja, and he suggests that the blue devil might be leading them. He tells the team that they will train tomorrow to better prepare themselves for handling this mysterious group.

The next day

Team SevenPlus takes their tents down and repacks their stuff. Kojiro looks off in the distant depressed. Naruto notices the man's expression and goes up to him.

"Hey Kojiro-sama, I don't know what it is like to lose a village, however when I was young, I lost my clan. Which obviously isn't the same, but I can understand your pain. I know that within time, if you allow friends into your life, that you will heal." The Uchiha stated.

"Thanks for your kind words young Uchiha." Kojiro replies. "I wish I could see my family one more time." He whispered.

Kakashi walks up to the two males. Kakashi talks to them. "The stuff is packed up. We can walk back to the leaf village and let Lord Third know about the wreckage from the accident." The two nod and Naruto walks up to Sasuke.

Naruto talks to his cousin, "whatcha doing?" He asked.

"There's hints of chakra in that water." Sasuke states. The last royal Uchiha had spoke. Naruto looked and activated his Sharingan.

"You're right. That would mean the flooding would be created by a shinobi. KAKASHI, COME HERE!" Naruto yelled.

Mito, Kakashi, Sakura, and Kojiro ran up to the two Uchiha. "What is it Naruto?" He asks.

"That flood has Chakra infused into it!" Naruto shouted.

"That's right. It's shinobi created." Sasuke stated.

Everyone thought what this meant. The rain clouds, the rising waters, and flash floods are all shinobi created. But to this level?

Naruto looked at his cousin, "how did you know?" he questioned.

"I don't know to be honest. It just felt weird. It's like I've sensed this chakra before." Sasuke answered.

How is that even possible? To be able to do this, you would need a Kekkei genkai or have the ability To control the weather. Or have a group of water style users. Kakashi thought.

"That means someone has assaulted my village!" Kojiro angrily stated.

Mito's eyes went wide. "Hey! That blue masked devil man had extremely powerful water style. Maybe he created it!" Mito suggested.

"No, for his water style to be this powerful? He would need to be stronger." Naruto stated.

"Perhaps he was holding back..." Kakashi muttered. But why? Could he have been testing Naruto? He thinks.

"That would be a good guess. That guy knew a lot about Naruto apparently." Mito stated.

"whatever the reason is, it doesn't matter. We have a mission to do. Let's find this guy and get answers." Sasuke added. Sakura nodded.

"Okay, when we encounter the ninja group and Blue Masked Devil, I will handle the Devil. You four will team up against the masked ninja group." Kakashi told his team.

"Thank you all!" Kojiro cried.

Kakashi knew that his summons wouldn't be able to find the scent of the group, so he wrote a letter to Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Dear Lord Hokage,

The mission thus far has been more than we expected. There has been a complication. We had to deal with a storm which separated Mito and Naruto from the rest of us. During that time, Mito and Naruto was attacked by a man wearing a blue devil mask. According to Naruto, the man was better. Mito believes that the man was responsible for the flooding in the Hidden Valley Village. This discovery was made by Sasuke and Naruto who seen Chakra in the flood that destroyed and killed every thing in that village. I trust Mito due to her heritage. That would mean the man was testing or holding back against Naruto. I fear we are in for more than what we can handle. The man is able to control weather. Do we know of a shinobi who could do such a thing? Anyways please send back up. We will set up traps so let the team you send know.

Sincerely Kakashi Hatake

Kakashi sent the letter off with Pakkun. The dog ran to the Leaf Village with incredible speed. "I sent word to Lord Third. We will wait for the group to attack us again, or wait for back up. Finding them would put us at a disadvantage. Letting them come to us would give us the advantage. We will set up traps and wait patiently." Kakashi stated.

The group nodded and started to set traps out. Sasuke and Naruto were digging a massive hole. Sasuke being bored decided to ask about the Blue Devil's power. "Say Naruto, what was the Blue Devil like?"

"Quick, strong, and smart. However, once Mito attacked he retreated." Naruto answered. "I wonder why that was," he added.

"Hmm, he specialized in water release. Water release is superior to that of Fire release." Sasuke stated. "I wonder why Mito thought that man could have anything to do with the flood." He added.

"Sasuke, did that group use any style of jutsu?" Naruto asked.

"No," his cousin answered.

With Hiruzen 2 hours later

After reading the letter his top Jonin sent, he called in Team Gai. "Your mission will be to help Team Seven in their current mission. They are located near the Hidden Valley Village. The threat currently uses Water Style that is said to control the weather." Hiruzen informed the team.

"Water Style to that level hasn't been accomplished since that of Lord Second's time!" Might Gai exclaimed.

"That is why I'm sending your team. Specifically because of you, but your team has been together for a year now and I believe that will also help the new Team Seven." The Sarutobi stated.

"No problem, I will aid my comrades to the best of my ability as well as my team!" Gai said as he gave the Third a massive thumb up.

The team headed out and in the direction of the Hidden Valley Village.

Gai, Lee, Tenten, and Neji walked out of the Hokage Mansion and followed Pakun. "What is this team like Gai-Sensei?" Rock Lee asked.

"Well, Team SevenPlus has four Genin over three." Gai answered.

"That's never been done before. So why start now?" Neji asked.

"Actually, back during the time of the Shodaime, his brother taught a team of four. Lord Third, a man named Danzo Shimura, Kagami Uchiha, and Koharu Utatane." Tenten intellectually added.

"That's right! However, during the first shinobi war, Kagami was killed by Kumo forces." Might Gai added. "This team is led by my rival Kakashi Hatake. The team consist of Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha, Naruto Uchiha, and Mito Uzumaki." He informed his team.

"Both of the last Uchiha?" Neji asked.

"Indeed. This will be a great chance to learn about them. I believe my rival will sign them up for the upcoming Chunin Exams." Might Gai said.

"Yosh! This will be a great opportunity to prove myself against two geniuses!" Rock Lee yelled.

This will be a great opportunity to get information on the Sharingan first hand. The Hyuga and The Uchiha were kept separate on missions because of the rivalry we had. Lord Hiashi will like to hear about this. Neji thought. "What is it like face the Sharingan Sensei?" Neji asked.

"Well my rival also has a Sharingan and back in my time I had to face off against it multiple times during the chunin exams. The key is to avoid eye contact. The Sharingan can cast genjutsu easily and predict movement. It also slows movement to the user from what I've been told." Might Gai stated. "However, with the Byakugan can ward off genjutsu. Should you trap a sharingan user in your 64 Palms Neji, you would win." Gai added.

Neji smirked at this comment. Awaiting the day he has to face either Uchiha and prove once and for all that the Byakugan is superior over the Sharingan.

"That's great Neji-kun!" Tenten yelled happily for her teammate.

"I will challenge them when we meet!" Lee yelled.

"No my student! We have a mission. Perhaps after the mission is over you can!" Gai added.

The team kept on going on their path to the Hidden Valley Village.

With Team SevenPlus

The team was in battle as the ninja group attacked the Genin. Sakura and Kojiro was being protected by Mito and the Uchiha cousins. Meanwhile Kakashi was facing the Blue Devil shinobi.

The Mask Blue Devil Shinobi, adorned in a cloak that billowed like waves crashing against the shore, smirked beneath his eerie mask. His eyes gleamed with a hint of madness as he raised his hand, summoning his water-based jutsu. With a swift motion, he sent torrents of water rushing toward Kakashi, forming a colossal wave that threatened to swallow him whole.

Kakashi's single visible eye widened as he swiftly leaped into the air, narrowly dodging the monstrous wave. Landing gracefully on a treetop, he clenched his fist, a surge of determination coursing through him. "It seems I'll need to use my Sharingan for this one," he muttered to himself.

Revealing his three tomoe Sharingan, Kakashi's eye transformed into a mesmerizing swirl of crimson. Time seemed to slow as he analyzed the Blue Devil's movements, anticipating his every action. With a swift hand seal, Kakashi unleashed a barrage of lightning-infused kunai, crackling with raw power, aimed directly at his foe.

"I would have assumed Kakashi of the Sharingan would be stronger, given your reputation." The Blue Devil taunted. Kakashi didn't retort.

The Mask Blue Devil Shinobi gracefully evaded the projectiles, his body moving with an unnatural fluidity. He retaliated with a swift swipe of his hand, summoning a deluge of rain that cascaded down upon Kakashi. The water enveloped him, obscuring his vision and weighing him down. For a brief moment, it seemed as though Kakashi would be consumed by the overwhelming force of the storm.

But Kakashi's resolve burned brighter than ever. He fought against the torrent, channelling his chakra to propel himself out of the water's grasp. As he emerged, his Sharingan blazed with renewed intensity. "I won't let you drown this village any further!" he shouted defiantly.

With newfound vigor, Kakashi unleashed a barrage of lightning-based jutsu. Bolts of electricity crackled through the air, striking the ground and electrifying the water. The Blue Devil Mask Shinobi maneuvered with incredible agility, narrowly dodging each lightning strike. However, Kakashi's relentless assault kept him on the defensive.

Their battle raged on, the once Hidden Valley village bearing witness to their fierce clash. The once serene streets now resembled a flooded war-torn landscape, buildings partially submerged, debris scattered everywhere. The rain poured relentlessly, its rhythm blending with the sounds of their clashing jutsu.

As the fight reached its crescendo, the Mask Blue Devil Shinobi's eyes glinted with a mixture of admiration and madness. "Impressive, Kakashi Hatake, it would appear that my first assessment was off," he hissed, his voice muffled by the mask. "You've proven yourself a worthy opponent, for now."

With a final surge of power, the Blue Devil unleashed a devastating Water Dragon Jutsu, summoning a colossal serpent made of swirling water. The serpent coiled around Kakashi, constricting him with its watery embrace. Kakashi struggled against his restraints, but it was futile. The Blue Devil had won.

As the water subsided, revealing Kakashi's weakened form, the Blue Devil Mask Shinobi approached him, his eyes filled with an enigmatic gaze. "Your life is meaningless," he whispered. "Live, and remember the power that could have consumed you."

With those cryptic words, the Mask Blue Devil Shinobi vanished into the shadows, leaving Kakashi unconscious.

Naruto, Sasuke, and Mito have fended off that last of the masked ninja group.

"Thank Kami we finished with them. I wonder if Kakashi-Sensei defeated the Blue Devil." Mito spoke. Naruto and Sasuke looked at her and the group recuperated and walked towards the area Kakashi was in.

with Gai's team

Gai's team finally made it to the Hidden Valley Village. "Now let's find Kakashi!" He exclaimed.

The team started to run but was cut off by shuriken. They halted and looked at the direction it came from. They seen the blue masked man.

"Hatake has been dispatched of already. It will be your turn now Green Beast of Konoha." The blue devil said with a muffled voice.

"I believe this was the man Lord Hokage was referring to earlier," Neji wisely pointed out.

"Yes, I believe you are right," Gai added. "Formation 5!" Gai called out.

Tenten jumped behind the team and pulled her scrolls out, Lee got into his fighting stance in the left corner and Gai in the right. Neji stood in the middle with his Byakugan active.

"Ah the Byakugan," the masked Shinobi said. "I just defeated a boy with a Sharingan yesterday. I believe you will be easy to dispatch of as well." He added.

"Try if you want. I'll cut off your tenketsu one by one." Neji arrogantly spoke. He began to charge but was stopped by his Sensei.

"He is playing mind games Neji. Do not allow him to win that easily my precious student." Gai said. "With the power of youth on our side, I'll defeat you Blue Devil!" Gai called out.

"Like your rival, you too will fall." The Blue Devil said.

The scene ended with an intense stare down between Team Gai and The Blue Devil Shinobi.

Thats it for this chapter. You wouldn't believe the massive writers block I had on this story. I pre wrote this about two weeks ago from its release. You can start making predictions as to why the Blue Devil went easy on Naruto and left Kakashi hanging onto his life. See you in the next one!
