Arc 1: The Introduction
Chapter 5: Peeping Toms & Revenge
In the early morning hours, as dawn cast a soft glow over Konoha, a serene stillness enshrouded the village. The quietude allowed the shopkeepers to enjoy a brief respite, savoring an hour of tranquility before the bustling city awoke. The harmonious melody of chirping birds floated through the air, adding a delightful touch to the peaceful ambiance.
Lost in his frustrations, a figure could be seen relentlessly pummeling a nearby tree, their fists striking with an intensity fueled by deep-seated emotions. "Hn! Hmp! Gah!" Each punch resonated with a mixture of anger, determination, and a desire for strength.
It was then that a familiar voice cut through the air, interrupting the solitary struggle. "Y'know, punching a tree like that isn't going to help you much, right?" Naruto's voice carried a hint of playful mockery, accompanied by a mischievous grin.
The boy turned his gaze towards the source of the interruption, finding solace in the familiar sight of Naruto. Sasuke's onyx eyes met Naruto's cerulean orbs, silently acknowledging the bond they shared. "What do you want, dobe?" Sasuke retorted, his tone laced with a mixture of annoyance and curiosity.
Pausing for a moment, Naruto replied, "I was just finishing up my run. I was wondering if you've seen a Genin with really bushy eyebrows." His voice held a genuine curiosity, a spark of adventure dancing within his words.
Sasuke furrowed his brow, attempting to make sense of Naruto's inquiry. "No one comes over here. It's why I train here. Why do you need him?" Sasuke's voice betrayed a hint of intrigue, as he sought to unravel the purpose behind Naruto's search.
Scratching the back of his head, Naruto grinned sheepishly. "Well, he kind of beat me bad yesterday, but apparently he knows this afterimage technique I've been dying to learn." A sense of enthusiasm tinged his voice, his eyes shining with the prospect of acquiring new skills.
"H-He beat you?" Sasuke's disbelief echoed through the air, his voice tinged with a mixture of astonishment and a burgeoning hunger for strength. The prospect of someone overpowering Naruto, one of the strongest in their class, ignited a fierce determination within him. "That's interesting to hear. Say, Naruto, would you... would you spar with me?" Sasuke hesitated, his pride warring with the necessity of seeking assistance. However, he knew deep down that he needed Naruto's help with the seal hidden within the Uchiha Library.
A moment of vulnerability flitted across Naruto's face, overshadowed by his unwavering spirit. "Did I hear you right? You, the noble last Uchiha, asking me, a no clan loser, to spar? Well, that is something." Naruto's voice held a playful edge, laced with a touch of astonishment at the unexpected request. "However, I have to decline your offer because I'm doing some intense training later with a really powerful shinobi."
Sasuke's anger surged through him as he questioned Naruto fiercely, "What?! What kind of powerful shinobi would choose to train you over me?" His mind raced with thoughts of betrayal. How could someone else be chosen by a strong shinobi when he had always believed he was the one destined for greatness?
Naruto, unfazed by Sasuke's outburst, replied casually, "Oh, just some old geezer named Jiraiya." He could sense the frustration in Sasuke's voice and decided to explain further. "You mean Jiraiya of the Sannin? He's going to train me. Apparently, he wants to mend our strained relationship. You know, I found out who my parents were, and he had a deep connection with them but never did anything for me."
Sasuke's confusion grew as Naruto's tone turned bitter. Intrigued, he asked, "What do you mean you found out who your parents were?" His perplexed expression mirrored his curiosity.
With a tinge of resentment, Naruto revealed, "Yeah, turns out I lied when I said I was a clanless loser. My mother was Kushina Uzumaki of the Uzumaki clan. They were a powerful clan known for their sealing abilities. Unfortunately, they were wiped out by three of the Five Great Nations during the Third Great War—Kumo, Iwa, and Kiri."
Sasuke's eyes widened in disbelief. 'He's from a clan so formidable that three of the Great Nations targeted them? It's hard to believe his clan could have been that strong!' The realization left him astounded. Unable to comprehend the situation fully, he pressed on, asking, "Wait, why have I never heard of this clan?"
Naruto explained, "Well, Konoha has purposefully erased most of the information regarding them. I'm not sure why, but I plan to ask the Hokage about it soon." The mystery surrounding Naruto's clan deepened, leaving Sasuke even more intrigued.
Eager to uncover the truth, Sasuke inquired, "Who was your father then?" His curiosity hung in the air as he awaited Naruto's response.
"First, let me ask you this," Naruto began, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips. "How many people in the Leaf Village have blonde hair and blue eyes?"
Sasuke racked his brain, recalling the familiar face of a certain annoying blonde girl from their class. Then, realization hit him like a lightning bolt. "No way! Y-you're the son of the Fourth Hokage?!" His shock was palpable.
Naruto simply nodded in confirmation, his expression calm yet filled with untold stories. The weight of his heritage now rested on Sasuke's shoulders, and a selfish thought began to take shape in his mind. 'This is perfect! Naruto will have access to the Fourth's jutsu archives. With that knowledge, I'll be able to defeat him once and for all!' The sinister idea fueled Sasuke's determination.
Trying to regain his composure, Sasuke managed to utter, "Wow. That's surprising." However, deep down, a whirlwind of thoughts and plans churned within him.
Naruto, sensing the hidden turmoil, announced his impending meeting with the sage. "Well, I'd love to talk more, but I have to meet the goofy sage in a few hours. See ya!" He turned to leave, but Sasuke couldn't let him go just yet.
Desperation filtered into Sasuke's voice as he called out, "WAIT!" Naruto halted in his tracks, turning around to face Sasuke. The raven-haired boy's eyes were fixed on the ground, his expression filled with a mix of emotions.
Curiosity piqued, Naruto asked, "What is it?" He observed Sasuke's internal struggle, waiting for him to speak.
Sasuke looked up, his frown revealing vulnerability. His words stumbled out hesitantly, "Can... can I... can I join you?" The request felt humiliating for Sasuke, who had rarely asked anyone for help since the morning of the Uchiha massacre.
Seeing Sasuke's unexpected vulnerability, Naruto's features softened. "Sure, I guess. But first, let's stop by your house so you can grab something to eat." Naruto's casual response surprised Sasuke. He had braced himself for mockery or taunting, but instead, he was met with acceptance. The realization dawned on Sasuke that Naruto had indeed changed.
Leaving the training grounds, the two set off towards Sasuke's house, embarking on a journey that would intertwine their destinies in ways they could never have imagined.
As the two boys reached Sasuke's house, Naruto couldn't help but take a moment to size up his friend's dwelling. His eyes widened slightly, impressed by the well-maintained and spacious appearance of the Uchiha residence. Turning to Sasuke, Naruto spoke with a mixture of admiration and a hint of self-deprecation. "So, you actually got a nice place then, huh? Your house is way better than mine."
Sasuke, caught off guard by Naruto's comment, glanced at him with a touch of confusion. He had never considered his home to be exceptional, but Naruto's words made him wonder if he had taken it for granted. "What are you talking about?" Sasuke asked, genuinely intrigued by Naruto's perspective on the matter.
A wistful smile played on Naruto's lips as he shrugged, his voice tinged with a touch of melancholy. "Nah, my apartment is barely held together. It's nothing special," he admitted, realizing that Sasuke had no knowledge of his less-than-ideal living conditions. Deep down, Naruto couldn't help but feel a pang of envy towards Sasuke's seemingly comfortable life.
Sasuke's eyes widened in surprise, his initial confusion turning into empathy. The realization that Naruto had been living in a run-down apartment struck a chord within him. "I had no idea," Sasuke replied softly, his voice carrying a mix of sympathy and newfound respect for Naruto's resilience.
The weight of his Uchiha lineage and the Fourth Hokage's status resurfaced in Sasuke's mind. He reached for an apple, trying to maintain his composure as he spoke nonchalantly, masking his own insecurities. "With you being the Fourth's son, I would've expected you to have a better place," he said, unintentionally revealing his assumption about Naruto's background.
Naruto let out a self-deprecating chuckle, his eyes momentarily clouded with a hint of sadness. "Like I said, I only found out about my heritage recently. It didn't come with any perks or fancy accommodations," he explained, trying to downplay his disappointment. He quickly changed the subject, aware of the pressing matter at hand. "Anyway, grab your lunch. We don't know how long Jiraiya's training will be."
Sasuke nodded, his mind shifting gears as he followed Naruto, biting into the apple he had grabbed. Thoughts of gaining the strength to defeat Itachi flooded his consciousness, and he glanced sideways at Naruto, his gaze filled with a mix of determination and a newfound appreciation for his teammate. 'This is it! Finally, I have the opportunity to surpass Itachi. And to think, it was Naruto who opened my eyes to it,' Sasuke thought, contemplating the potential benefits of being around Naruto beyond the Uchiha library's seal.
Lost in his thoughts, Sasuke was abruptly nudged by Naruto, snapping him back to the present moment. He blinked, refocusing his attention on his companion. "What's up?" he inquired, curious about the interruption.
"Hey Sasuke, isn't that Ino?" Naruto whispered, discreetly pointing out the familiar blonde girl in the distance. Sasuke's eyes widened, a sense of panic washing over him. "Crap!" he muttered under his breath, realizing that his presence might complicate things.
Naruto, puzzled by Sasuke's reaction, raised an eyebrow. "You know, she's actually pretty attractive. I'm surprised you don't like her," Naruto commented, genuinely curious about his friend's romantic preferences.
Sasuke scoffed dismissively, his voice tinged with a touch of irritation. "I don't want a relationship with a girl who doesn't take her training seriously," he retorted, his determination to become stronger evident in his words.
Naruto shrugged, offering a mischievous suggestion. "Well, why don't you use the Transformation Jutsu? You can hide your identity and avoid any unnecessary complications," he advised, his blue eyes twinkling with a mix of amusement and curiosity.
Sasuke nodded, taking Naruto's advice to heart. He swiftly performed the transformation technique, assuming the appearance of their academy teacher, Iruka. Naruto observed the transformation, a smirk playing on his lips. 'Iruka-sensei, huh? This ought to be interesting,' he thought, ready to play along and make a show out of the situation.
Clearing his throat, Naruto adopted a whiny tone, addressing Sasuke as 'Iruka'. "Iruka-sensei! I'm not pranking anyone! I just wanted to go to the bathhouse!" Naruto complained, feigning frustration to add credibility to their act.
Inside his transformed persona, Sasuke grumbled inwardly, cursing Naruto for putting him in such a predicament. "Well, Naruto, can you blame me? I always see you pulling pranks," 'Iruka' responded, trying to maintain the illusion while inwardly seething at his own misfortune.
"But Iruka-sensei, I haven't done anything crazy in over a year!" Naruto whined, putting on a show for Ino's benefit.
Unbeknownst to them, Ino approached, her curiosity piqued by their conversation. "Wasn't Sasuke just here?" Ino inquired, her mind racing to comprehend how he could have vanished so suddenly. Doubt crept into her thoughts. 'How could he just disappear like that?'
'Iruka' stumbled for a moment, trying to come up with a convincing response. "No, Ino, it's just been me and Iruka-sensei," Naruto quickly interjected, determined to prevent Sasuke's cover from being blown.
Ino seemed slightly skeptical but decided to let it go for the time being. "Hmm, okay. And DON'T YOU PEEK AT THE GIRLS IN THE BATHHOUSE, OR ELSE!" Ino warned Naruto, her tone leaving no room for negotiation.
Saluting playfully, Naruto responded with a goofy grin. "Yes, ma'am!" he replied, emphasizing his commitment to following Ino's command. As she walked away, 'Iruka' dispelled the transformation, reverting back to Sasuke's original form.
"I hate being put on the spot," Sasuke grumbled, shooting a glare at Naruto for thrusting him into such an awkward situation.
Naruto chuckled, trying to ease the tension. "Well, we had to do something. Unless you wanted Ino to see through it all. Besides, why did you choose to be Iruka?" Naruto asked, genuinely curious about Sasuke's decision.
Sasuke rolled his eyes, his annoyance evident. "Who else was I supposed to be? No one likes you," he replied bluntly, his words laced with a mix of frustration and a hint of playful banter.
Naruto feigned hurt, exaggerating his reaction for comedic effect. "But why would you say something like that, knowing how it would make me feel?" Naruto responded, adopting a fake depressed tone, his eyes glimmering with mischief.
"I hate you," Sasuke stated coldly, his words lacking any real malice as he matched Naruto's playful banter.
"I hate you too, Teme," Naruto shot back, a grin spreading across his face as they continued their journey, their lighthearted teasing a testament to the growing camaraderie between the two boys.
Once they arrived at the bathhouses, Naruto and Sasuke began their search for Jiraiya, their eyes scanning the area in anticipation. Sasuke couldn't help but question Naruto's certainty. "Are you sure Jiraiya said to meet him here?" he asked, a hint of doubt in his voice.
Naruto, slightly defensive, responded with a raised eyebrow. "Yes, why would I make that up?" he questioned, his frustration with Sasuke's skepticism evident.
Sasuke was about to retort when his attention was drawn to something peculiar in a nearby tree. "What the hell is that?" he muttered, pointing his finger towards the mysterious object.
Curiosity piqued, Naruto followed Sasuke's gaze, his eyes widening as he took in the sight. "I-I think that's Lord Jiraiya," Naruto stammered, his voice a mix of surprise and disbelief.
Sasuke's confusion mirrored Naruto's. "Why would he be up a tree?" he questioned, his tone betraying a hint of frustration. The sound of Jiraiya's giggles reached their ears, causing Sasuke to internally groan. 'Please don't let him be a pervert,' he silently pleaded.
Naruto's eyes widened as he noticed the binoculars in Jiraiya's hands. "Is...is he spying on someone?" he asked, a mix of shock and bewilderment coloring his voice.
Sasuke, still skeptical, sought confirmation. "Are you sure this is the legendary Sannin Jiraiya?" he inquired, his doubts lingering.
Naruto nodded, determination etched on his face. "That's him. Give me a boost, Sasuke. I need to find out what he's up to," he said, a sense of urgency in his voice. Sasuke obliged, offering his hands as a foothold for Naruto to climb the tree.
With Sasuke's assistance, Naruto reached Jiraiya's level and tapped him on the shoulder, prompting a confused response. "Huh?" Jiraiya muttered, his attention shifting to the young ninja before him.
Curiosity getting the best of him, Naruto couldn't help but ask, "What do you think you're doing up here?"
Jiraiya, caught off guard, chuckled nervously. "Oh, I'm just doing some research," he replied, attempting to brush off his suspicious behavior.
Naruto's gaze shifted between Jiraiya and the nearby bathhouse, noticing a few familiar faces among the women. Realization dawned upon him. "Sasuke, it's okay! Jiraiya isn't a pervert. He's spying on a potential enemy of the village," he explained, excitement lacing his words. However, Sasuke, unable to hear Naruto clearly, reacted differently.
"What?!" Sasuke exclaimed, his voice filled with disbelief and frustration.
"Hey, tell your friend to shu--" Jiraiya began, only to be interrupted by Naruto's booming declaration.
"I SAID JIRAIYA ISN'T PEEPING! HE'S SPYING ON A POTENTIAL THREAT TO THE VILLAGE!" Naruto yelled at the top of his lungs, his words echoing through the air. The sudden outburst caught the attention of a purple-haired kunoichi, who wasted no time in expressing her anger.
"JIRAIYA! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, PEEPING?! HAVEN'T WE TOLD YOU TO STOP THIS?" she shouted, her voice dripping with fury. The other kunoichis quickly grabbed their towels, hastily wrapping them around their bodies, and joined in the chase.
"Damn brats! Look what you've done!" Jiraiya cursed, his annoyance evident as he sprinted away, leaving Naruto and Sasuke to fend for themselves.
"This isn't our fault!" Naruto protested, frustration seeping into his words as he and Sasuke struggled to keep up with Jiraiya's fleeing figure.
'This is going to be the death of me. Being chased down by women who think we peeped on them. Just great,' Sasuke thought morosely, his mood dampened by the chaotic turn of events. "Naruto, we need to split up from the pervert and regroup later. Let's head to my house. The women surely wouldn't suspect me of peeping," he suggested, his voice laced with a mix of exasperation and determination as he deftly maneuvered under a low-hanging tree branch.
The two boys had finally reached their destination, standing outside a house. Sasuke swiftly pulled out two cups of instant ramen and filled them with steaming hot water. Excitement brimming in his voice, Naruto exclaimed, "Alright Sasuke!"
"Hn. After all this time of you being different and stronger, you're still an idiot," Sasuke retorted with a smirk, provoking Naruto. "Hey!" Naruto protested, his face quickly straightening. "We need to find that pervert and get our training done," Sasuke continued.
"You're right. This cannot happen again. Let's finish this ramen, and then we should see the Hokage. He should know where Jiraiya is," Naruto replied, his mouth full of ramen. Disgusted, Sasuke interjected, "Please swallow your food before you talk."
"Sorry, Sasuke," Naruto apologized, hastily finishing his meal. With their ramen consumed, the two boys set off towards the Hokage Mansion.
Upon arrival, Naruto confidently declared to the receptionist, "We're here to see the Hokage." The lady looked up from her book, glaring at the boy. "Lord Third is busy at this moment. Come back some other time," she dismissively replied. However, her demeanor shifted when she noticed Sasuke, the last Uchiha. "Oh, Uchiha-sama! What brings you here?" she inquired, suddenly more courteous.
"Like Naruto said, we're here to see the Hokage," Sasuke informed the receptionist, puzzled by her apparent dislike towards Naruto. 'Why does she act like she hates Naruto?' Sasuke wondered to himself. Oblivious to Sasuke's thoughts, the receptionist coldly looked at Naruto and remarked, "Oh? I didn't realize that you have that in your company, Uchiha-sama. Anyways, the Hokage will be done with his meeting within fifteen minutes. Just hang around here until then."
"Thanks," Sasuke responded politely as he and Naruto proceeded to the chairs on the side. Sasuke sat down, feeling the wear and tear on the chair. 'This chair needs to be replaced. Too many people must've sat in it,' he thought before calling out to Naruto, catching his attention. "Say, Naruto..."
"Yeah?" Naruto replied, turning to face Sasuke, his expression curious.
"I've noticed that some of the villagers look at you weirdly. Even the receptionist gave you a disdainful stare. Why is that?" Sasuke asked, genuinely intrigued. He observed Naruto's smile fading into seriousness, witnessing an inner conflict within him.
'If I tell Sasuke about the Nine Tails, he may treat me like the rest of the villagers. But he's also lonely, just like me. The question is, do I want Sasuke to know? Having someone to spar with would benefit my training, but he's still a prick. Maybe that could change over time,' Naruto debated internally. "Well, Sasuke, it's something I don't want to discuss with you right now. Maybe some other time," Naruto finally responded, hinting at his reluctance.
"Maybe some other time, Sasuke.
Not right now, Sasuke.
I'll train you later, Sasuke," echoed Itachi's words in Naruto's hesitant reply. Sasuke noticed a distinct change in Naruto's demeanor, sensing the darkness that crept over his mood. Naruto couldn't feel the depth of hatred, anger, and overall despair that Sasuke harbored, but he could see the frown etched on Sasuke's face. And then, Sasuke's expression turned blank.
"Perhaps you're right, Naruto," Sasuke conceded, his voice devoid of emotion.
The two boys, Naruto and Sasuke, sat in an uneasy silence for the next five minutes, their anticipation growing as they waited for the Hokage to appear. Finally, the door to the elderly Hokage's office swung open, and he stepped out, his presence commanding respect and wisdom.
"Ah, Naruto and Sasuke, how can I help you today?" the Hokage greeted them warmly, his eyes crinkling with a gentle smile.
Naruto, eager to explain the situation, spoke up with a mixture of frustration and determination in his voice. "Well, Lord Third, I had a training session with Jiraiya earlier, and I brought Sasuke with me to train where Jiraiya told us to meet him. But when we got there, he was busy ogling a bunch of girls and got caught. He just left us behind, and it's already like six in the evening. We were hoping you might know where he went. We could make use of this time for some training."
Hiruzen, the Third Hokage, couldn't help but chuckle at the mischievousness of his student. He had come to expect such antics from Jiraiya. "Yes, I do know where he is," he replied, his voice tinged with amusement. "I heard he was feeling hungry, so I suggest checking the ramen shop you love so much. If you hurry, you might just catch up to him."
Naruto's eyes widened with excitement, and he glanced at Sasuke, who mirrored his eagerness. Without wasting a moment, the two boys leaped to their feet and dashed out of the Hokage's tower, their determination propelling them forward.
Jiraiya sat alone at the ramen stand, lost in his thoughts. He couldn't help but wonder how his fellow ninja were faring. "I wonder if those idiots got caught by the Kunoichis," he chuckled to himself, his mischievous nature shining through. However, his thoughts were abruptly interrupted when a stunning blonde woman took a seat next to him.
As Jiraiya glanced at the woman, he couldn't help but admire her beauty. Her ocean blue eyes sparkled, framed by two blonde pigtails. She wore just the right amount of makeup, accentuating her features, and her figure was simply breathtaking. Wow! Jiraiya thought, his mind racing. They might not be Tsunade-sized, but they are definitely nice!
Caught off guard by the girl's presence, Jiraiya's heart skipped a beat as she looked over at him and winked. "Hello, how are you?" she asked, her voice as enchanting as her appearance.
"I-I-I'm doing well," Jiraiya stuttered, desperately trying to maintain his composure while attempting not to let his nose start bleeding into his ramen bowl.
"That's good. So, what's a strong man like yourself doing here in Konoha? I don't think I've seen you before," the girl inquired, genuinely curious.
"Well, I'm the Legendary Sannin Jiraiya," he proudly explained. "I often leave the village for extended periods to gather valuable intel and then return to assist my village."
Impressed by his status, the blonde girl's belly rumbled, momentarily breaking the conversation. Blushing in embarrassment, she spoke with a smile, "S-sure, that would be nice," accepting Jiraiya's offer of food.
This is it, Jiraiya! You've still got the moves!he thought, his confidence soaring. In his mind, he did a little victory dance, celebrating the unexpected turn of events. "Teuchi, let me get another bowl for this lovely woman right here," Jiraiya called out, eager to impress.
"Sure thing!" Teuchi, the ramen chef, responded, preparing the additional bowl.
As the ramen steamed and filled the air with its tantalizing aroma, Jiraiya seized the opportunity to engage the girl in conversation. "So, how long have you been in Konoha?" he asked, genuinely interested.
"Not long, Jiraiya-sama," the girl purred, her words dripping with allure. Jiraiya's nose began to bleed, unable to contain his excitement and desire.
"If you're planning to stay in Konoha for a while, I think I'll have to extend my stay as well!" Jiraiya exclaimed, his flirtatious nature shining through.
Teuchi placed the bowl of ramen in front of the girl, breaking their conversation momentarily. "Say, don't I know you?" the ramen chef asked, trying to recall where he had seen her before.
"No, I just have one of those faces," the girl responded casually, gracefully accepting the bowl of ramen.
"One of those faces? You're absolutely stunning, one of a kind!" Jiraiya flirted shamelessly, his charm captivating the girl.
"Why, thank you, Jiraiya-sama," she purred, her voice filled with admiration.
The two of them sat together, enjoying their bowls of ramen. As the girl sipped her soup, the bowl slipped from her hands, causing its contents to spill onto her white shirt. In an instant, the fabric turned transparent, revealing her enticing form. Jiraiya's eyes widened, and his nose began to gush blood uncontrollably.
"HUBBA HUBBA!" Jiraiya exclaimed, unable to contain his excitement at the sight before him.
"Oh no, what am I going to do?" the girl asked, her voice laced with a mix of concern and amusement. She quickly started to rub herself dry, trying to salvage the situation. Meanwhile, Jiraiya was on the verge of collapsing from blood loss, his nosebleed intensifying.
"We'll need to clean those," Jiraiya managed to say, pointing at her chest, his voice strained with both desire and urgency.
Jiraiya's heart raced with anticipation as the blonde girl invited him to the bathhouses. His excitement was palpable, causing him to shoot up from his seat with a burst of blood propelling his ascent like a rocket. "I'll take that as a yes," the girl laughed, her voice laced with amusement and a hint of mischief.
Walking side by side, Jiraiya and the blonde girl made their way towards the hot springs. Jiraiya couldn't help but continue regaling her with his exaggerated tales of war battles, eager to impress her. The air crackled with a mix of anticipation and playful banter as they approached their destination.
As they arrived at the hot springs, the clerk, unable to resist the allure of the sexy blonde with her shirt soaked in a yellowish white hue, graciously let them in for free. The scent of sulfur permeated the air, blending with the excitement that hung thickly around them.
"Jiraiya, can you help me take my clothes off?" the girl asked seductively, her voice causing a shiver to run down Jiraiya's spine. Without hesitation, Jiraiya's head nodded rapidly and repeatedly, his eagerness evident.
The two of them entered the changing room, their footsteps echoing in the dimly lit space. Jiraiya's heart pounded in his chest as he heard the familiar sound of a transformation jutsu. "Poof!" The smoke cleared, revealing Naruto Namikaze standing before Jiraiya. Confusion washed over Jiraiya as he scanned the room, only to find multiple Kunoichis from their earlier encounter. A sinking feeling settled in the pit of his stomach.
"Have fun, Jiraiya-sama," Naruto taunted, his mischievous grin widening.
"GET HIM!" the Kunoichis shouted in unison, their voices filled with determination and righteous indignation. The atmosphere shifted, charged with a mix of adrenaline and anger.
A merciless beating ensued, lasting what felt like an eternity but was only a mere five minutes. Jiraiya found himself sprawled on the ground, defeated and broken, lying on his back. He looked up through swollen eyes and saw a smirking Uchiha and Namikaze standing before him, their presence a stark reminder of his failure.
"H-how?" Jiraiya managed to croak, his voice filled with a mix of disbelief and pain.
"Well..." Sasuke replied, his tone dripping with satisfaction.
Flashback before 'Naruko' entered the Ramen Stand
"Naruto! There's Jiraiya!" Sasuke exclaimed, pointing at the infamous toad sage. The two boys quickly sought cover behind a bush, their mischievous minds brewing a plan.
"Want to prank him?" Naruto whispered, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "He left us behind, and we got punished for his actions. It's time to teach him a lesson, don't you think?"
Sasuke raised an eyebrow, his suspicion evident. "What did you have in mind?" he asked cautiously, knowing Naruto's propensity for wild ideas.
"Well, he's a pervert, right?" Naruto grinned mischievously. "What if I transformed into a smoking hot babe and lured him to the Hot Springs? And then, you gather the Kunoichis from earlier or anyone who isn't fond of peepers. We'll give Jiraiya a taste of his own medicine."
"Hn. Sounds like a perfect revenge plan," Sasuke stated, a small smirk playing on his lips. He had to admit, the idea had a certain appeal.
"Alright," Naruto agreed, his determination shining through. "I'll give you roughly ten minutes. Meet you at the hot springs."
Present
"You little rats set me up!" Jiraiya growled, still lying on the ground, his body battered and bruised.
"Well, yeah. You were supposed to train us today," Naruto retorted, standing tall with his arms crossed. Sasuke stood beside him, his gaze fixed on Jiraiya, a hint of annoyance in his eyes.
"And instead of fulfilling your responsibility, you decided to go peep on the girls," Sasuke added, his voice laced with a combination of frustration and disappointment.
"PEEPING?!" Jiraiya protested, his tone defensive. "I was not peeping. I was conducting research!" he declared, desperately trying to defend his actions.
"Research?" Naruto questioned, perplexed. 'What is he babbling on about?' he wondered, his confusion evident.
"For what?" Sasuke inquired, genuinely curious about Jiraiya's justification for invading the Kunoichi bathhouse.
"Well, I'm glad you asked, emo," Jiraiya replied, his enthusiasm returning. "I am working on the sequel to my bestselling novel, Icha Icha Paradaisu (Make Out Paradise)! I need to keep my creative juices flowing, you know, so I can make it even more successful. Pictures included!" With a flourish, Jiraiya revealed a manuscript, pulling out the first page to showcase a rough draft of the book's cover.
Sasuke and Naruto exchanged a bewildered glance, their expressions turning blank as they struggled to make sense of it all. Suddenly, a flicker of recognition crossed Naruto's face.
"Hey, wait a second," Naruto interjected. He had seen that book around the village and had even read the first few chapters. "Isn't that the book with the green cover?"
"You're a fan?" Jiraiya asked eagerly, his eyes lighting up with hope. He had always hoped his godson would share his passion for the perverted side of life.
The boys remained silent for a moment, the weight of the situation sinking in. It was a peculiar mix of emotions—anger, betrayal, and a touch of amusement—mingling within them.
"No, it's terrible," Sasuke interjected before Naruto could respond. He glanced at Naruto with a sidelong glance, his eyes revealing a hidden depth. Sasuke had stumbled upon the book in his brother's possessions, desperately searching for any clue about Itachi's whereabouts. But his search had yielded no answers, only a glimpse into Jiraiya's infamous work.
"How would you know, Sasuke?" Naruto asked, his curiosity piqued by Sasuke's unexpected reaction.
"D-d-don't worry about it, idiot!" Sasuke stammered, feeling a flush of embarrassment creep up his cheeks.
"Anyways, your book is nothing but hot garbage, pervy sage," Naruto declared bluntly, his words cutting through the air with a mix of disdain and disappointment.
"Pervy Sage?" Jiraiya questioned, a sinking feeling settling in his chest. 'Oh no, don't tell me he inherited Kushina's talent for giving people nicknames,' Jiraiya thought, fearing the worst.
"Yeah, because you're supposedly a toad sage and a massive pervert," Naruto retorted matter-of-factly, not one to mince words.
"I suppose I won't be teaching you a Killer Jutsu then," Jiraiya stated, his voice tinged with disappointment. He knew this would hit them hard, triggering an immediate sense of remorse.
Sasuke's eyes widened in alarm. "He's apologizing, Lord Jiraiya!" Sasuke quickly interjected, seizing the opportunity to salvage the situation.
"Your friend is quick to apologize, Naruto," Jiraiya remarked, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He dusted himself off, regaining his composure. "But let's make one thing clear: pull a stunt like that again, and I'll have to teach you both a lesson the hard way." Jiraiya's words carried a tinge of seriousness beneath his chuckle.
Sasuke nodded earnestly, his voice laced with determination. "We understand, Jiraiya-sama," he replied, acknowledging the gravity of their actions.
"You've got a bright friend there, Naruto," Jiraiya remarked, his tone softening. "Since it's late now, let's meet at the ramen stand tomorrow morning for our training. Consider this little prank as part of your training too." Jiraiya's words held a hint of encouragement, a glimmer of hope for their future endeavors.
The two boys exchanged a glance, a mixture of gratitude and determination reflected in their eyes. They knew they had crossed a line, but this encounter with Jiraiya served as a turning point—an opportunity for growth and redemption.
Thank you for tuning into this chapter, Sakura has been dropped from the proceedings. Remember when you vote, it's 1 vote per chapter. So if you want Ino, vote Ino each chapter. Or switch it up. It's up to you honestly. Here's the current poll below:
Naruto X Haku (female)-39
Naruto X Hinata-37
Naruto X Ino-49
Naruto X Tayuya-33
Naruto X Temari-43
Right now Ino is up by a lot. By chapter 7 rewrite, the female with the least amount of votes will be dropped. For instance, it would appear that Tayuya is going to be dropped unless she gets 4 votes. If she got 4 votes, Hinata would get dropped.
Anyways Chapter 6 Rewrite should release by Next Saturday, 1/13/2024. I'm trying to stay as consistent as possible with my uploading. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the read. The next chapter I'll be releasing will be on my other story the Uchiha Resentment on Sunday.
