Two sets of footsteps clattered against the tile, guided by Inox, they continued their journey through the nightmare of a building. Iza and Inox had walked for around twenty minutes, passing abandoned stores and descending several deactivated escalators before reaching the ground level.

Iza shone her flashlight around the room and recognized it as the stage from earlier when charging Inox. Now closer, she realized the state of the room. Over a dozen tables were strewn about, with many more chairs flipped or broken surrounding it. Child strollers and depowered photo booths sat abandoned on the edges of the room. The center area opened up and was lined with mounds of discarded prizes, drawings, or anything else available in the Pizzaplex while piles of trash encompassed the enormous space.

Iza's disgust only heightened as a putrid odor reached her nostrils. Iza reared back, yanking her free from Inox's grasp. "Oh my god!" Iza covered her nose as her body slightly gagged. "What is that smell?!"

Inox looked at her strangely. "What are you talking about?" he asked, confused. "I do not smell anything."

Disbelief covered Iza's face. "Are your aroma sensors working?" She gestured around the room. "How do you not smell that? It's putrid here!"

He shrugged, then turned around and walked off. After a few seconds Inox came back carrying something green, slimy, and violating Iza's senses. "Perhaps it's this?" Inox asked, holding it closer.

Iza looked green in the face, and a wave of nausea washed over her as the smell made her eyes water. Taking a step away, Iza shined the flashlight over the foul-smelling object; the beam highlighted a rancid slice of moldy pizza with several bite marks all over. "What the hell, Inox?! Throw it away!" Iza quickly shooed him off while stepping further back.

As she moved back, something soft crunched beneath her shoe. Iza froze. Hesitantly, Iza raised her foot. Below her lay several long-expired mounds of food; she shone the light around her, revealing the extent of the heaps of spoiled and decomposing mush that was once edible.

The sight took its toll; Iza dropped the flashlight and ran a few yards away before vomiting up the contents of the previous night's dinner.

A concerned Inox watched before a disheveled Iza reentered the light. Hair tangled and glasses crooked, Iza wiped her mouth with her sleeve. "Are you alright?" Inox questioned, already knowing the answer.

Brown eyes snapped towards the little robot. Any form of patience extinguished. "No, Inox, I am not." Her expression showed no emotion while staring off into space. Then tears began to prick her eyes. "I'm not okay," Iza replied, her voice cracking but still soft.

Teardrops began running down her cheeks one by one. "I want to go home!" she cried. Then, finally, Iza broke into tears as her body began to shake.

"Iza!" Inox ran to her side, grabbing the flashlight along the way. "It's okay; we'll be out of here soon." He tried to hug her, but Iza shook him off.

"Why are we here, Inox?" Iza questioned, her voice beginning to rise. "Why did we ever come to this nightmare of a carnival?!"

"Iza," Inox sighed.

"Seriously?!" Iza screamed, soft crying replaced by furious hysteria. "Why did we even come here?! I hate it here!" Iza grabbed an old plastic cup then launched it across the dark room. An audible thump indicated its landing.

"Iza!" Inox chastised. "Please, calm yourself!"

"No!" she screeched before snatching the flashlight from Inox. "Inox, tonight has been hell!"

"I understand that, but—"

"But nothing!" Iza interrupted. "Inox, in less than twelve hours, I have severely injured my arm. We have been chased by robots that are somehow still working despite this place being clearly abandoned long ago, had to carry your body, my best friend, to get recharged, and now I just hurled because of the awful smell expelling from this landfill of a room!"

Inox gazed at her sadly. "Iza, we can fix this place."

"I don't want to fix it!" she cried. "I don't want anything more to do with it!"

"But it was your father's, he—"

"At this point, I don't care if it was Dad's or not!" Iza shouted. "This place may have belonged to him, but now it's mine."

"What are you saying?"

"I nearly died tonight, Inox, and you lost your battery."

"I know, but—"

"This, all of this, it just isn't worth it." Iza's voice grew quiet. "All I can think about right now is just demolishing the building and selling it."

"What?!" Inox yelled. "Iza, you can't be serious. Mr. Fasben left this to you!"

"And never told anyone? Not even you?" Iza shot back. "Maybe there was a good reason no one knew he owned this. Maybe it's because this entire structure is a deathtrap, and nothing good ever came of it!"

"Iza, can we at least talk about this after we leave?"

"No, Inox," Iza hissed. "My mind is made up. Everything is getting destroyed as soon as we leave this circus, this Mega Pizzaplex! And nothing is going to—"

A low growling sounded from the darkness; Iza and Inox halted their fight and slowly turned their heads. Suddenly she screamed bloody murder. Three giant robots stood less than fifty feet away; their glowing eyes pierced the darkness. Although Iza could make out their figures through the dim light, her heart sank; it was the mascots.

In front stood the green alligator wearing sunglasses and oversized shoulder pads. Behind it stood the white-feathered chicken and curly-haired wolf. "So you mentioned something about destroying the Pizzaplex, huh?" a broad southern accent asked, its voice calm yet irritated.

Iza couldn't speak as she slowly backed away, hiding Inox behind her. Then, in a meek voice, Iza stuttered. "Who-who are you?"

Even from a distance, Iza could see the smirk crossing his elongated features. "Oh, how rude of us. My name is Montgomery Gator." He pulled down his star sunglasses, a glare reflecting off the lenses to reveal his glowing crimson eyes. "But you, my dear, can call me Monty."

The other animatronics stepped slightly forward. "Roxanne Wolf," the wolf growled in a somewhat deep feminine voice.

"But you can call her Roxy," the chicken cheered, throwing her arms over her friend.

"Chica!" Roxy yelled, confidence leaving her voice.

Removing her arm from the wolf, the chicken rushed forward, closing the distance with only twenty feet remaining. "I'm Glamrock Chica, but you can call me Chica!"

Iza and Inox stared dumbfounded at the three anthropomorphized robotic animals. "Nice to meet you?" Iza replied, slightly shocked.

Chica smiled warmly. "And what might we call you and your little friend, hon?"

Iza's eyes darted between the chicken and the two others. "Iza," she coughed. "My name is Iza Fasben."

"And your friend down there?" Roxy asked, pointing to Inox hiding behind Iza's leg.

"My name is Inox," he rescinded, trying to hide the terror in his voice. "Pleased to make your acquaintance."

A small chuckle interrupted the conversation. "Yes, very pleased." Monty clapped his hands together. "However, now that we are all introduced let's get down to business."

"Business?" Iza questioned, slowly stepping backward. "What do you mean?"

"Well, you see, we couldn't help but overhear you talking about wanting to destroy the Pizzaplex," Monty smirked. "Now that's all fine and dandy, but the problem is we live here."

Iza didn't respond.

"You see, originally we were coming to escort you out, but now…" Monty's voice trailed off.

Iza gulped. "But what?"

"Now, we can't let you leave."

"What?!" Iza yelped. "Why?!"

"You said you wanted to destroy the Pizzaplex." He paused, the smile faded from his face. "Am I wrong?"

"I—"

"Am I?"

"Well, no, but I—"

Monty belted out a laugh. "See Roxy, what did I tell you, a confession." He cracked his knuckles and neck. "Now we have a clear motive, time to get to work!" Without warning, Monty sprinted across the room and lunged at Iza. Iza managed to snap back to reality and move out of the way with Inox just as Monty reached them. Monty flew past the duo and crashed onto the floor.

"Get them!" he yelled.

"Go!" Iza grabbed Inox by the hand and bolted away. "Inox, go!"

Chica and Roxy chased after them, their hard footsteps clanking against the trash-covered floor.

Heading back where they came, Iza and Inox rushed up the escalator. They reached the second floor then ran in a random direction. "Inox, where do we go?!"

Inox looked around frantically, trying his best to keep up with the human dragging him along. "Uh, uh, turn left!"

Iza veered to the left, blindly running while her flashlight waved wildly.

"Run forward them head through there—Iza run faster!" Inox shrieked.

Iza glanced behind her. She saw Roxy was right behind them. She screamed then flanked right down a new hallway. The sudden movement was too fast for Roxy as she tripped and was flung to the floor. "They went that way!"

Iza and Inox heard Monty and Chica gaining on them. "Inox, where do we go now?"

"Hang on!"

Iza's eyes darted then she took a sharp right. Pulling Inox off the ground, she held him tightly before jumping and smashing through some glass. Iza's body broke their fall. The tearing of fabric filled the air as Iza's right sleeve was torn clean off. Neither human nor robot made a sound as heavy footsteps walked past.

"Where'd she go?!" Monty's voice echoed in the distance.

"I heard a crash."

"Find her! Don't let her escape.

The footsteps echoed further and further until they disappeared down the next corridor. Iza exhaled violently, her body's adrenaline beginning to wear off. "That, that was a close one." Iza's heart pounded against her chest. She had to take a minute to catch her breath after sprinting for so long.

"Yeah," Inox agreed, shaken from the event.

"Let's, let's get out of here," Iza said. "I think I need a hospital."

Inox looked at his friend, her arm now exposed and covered in bruises and scratches that even his sensors thought were too gruesome. "Good idea."

Walking side by side, Inox and Iza moved down the new hallway, Iza slightly limping from the impact. Iza stumbled

"Iza, do you need help?" Inox asked.

"I'm fine, but I want to leave this place."

Inox sighed. "Unfortunately, you're right. I would usually suggest that you rest but getting out as quickly as possible is the safest thing." He paused. "For both of us."

Iza weakly giggled. "Your comments always bring a bit of needed light to the situation."

Inox rolled his eyes.

Finally, they came to a door; Inox pushed and held it open as an injured Iza limped through. "Thanks," she said before looking at the room ahead of her."

Inox joined her a moment later. He scanned the room before his eyes lit up. "Iza! I know where we are!"

"You do?"

"Yes, this is where we needed to get before!"

"Awesome! Where next then?" Iza asked as they began to walk.

Inox's features slightly dimmed. "Okay, you're not going to like this, but we have to get through a vent."

"Excuse me?"

"Yeah, apparently, there is a vent large enough for a human that leads directly to the back of the mall."

"Seriously?" Iza whined. "A vent?"

"Hey, it was this or the sewers. Take your pick."

Iza groaned. "Isn't there a backdoor?"

"Yes, but those animatronics were guarding them."

"How can you tell?"

"Remember that map I told you was downloaded on my server?"

"Yeah?" Iza said, confusion evident.

"I can see where they are on the map; they appear as lights."

"Huh." Iza didn't get to think about Inox's words further as they arrived.

"Here, this is the vent that will take us directly outside."

"Alright, let me hoist you up." Iza grabbed Inox under his arms, careful not to put further pressure on her arm. Then, Iza hoisted Inox into the already exposed vent duct with a bit of effort.

"I'm in; now hand me the bag," Inox said, pointing to the backpack resting at Iza's feet.

Iza nodded then bent down to grab the bag. She was about to hand the bag when she noticed his scared expression. "Inox, what's wrong?"

Shakingly, Inox raised a hand and pointed behind her. "They're here."

"You got that right little bot." A voice behind boomed.

Inox snapped her head around. Monty, Chica, and Roxy stood right behind her. Iza's fight or flight kicked in as she bolted down the hall with the bag slung on her shoulder and leaving Inox behind. "Go Inox! I'll find you!"

"Iza!" He didn't get a second more as Roxy lunged at him. Inox retreated further into the vent, out of the wolf's reach. She tried a few more times before giving up; she was too big, then rejoined the pursuit for Iza.

Iza's body screamed for her to stop; blood pumped rapidly as the pain in her arm and leg grew. Running further through the mysterious room, Iza ungracefully dodged several display cases littering the floor. She had no time to look around but noticed the four large glass windows, each with a color scheme corresponding to the animatronics trailing right behind.

Iza kept going until she arrived at the last window when something caught her foot. Iza went flying, spilling her and the contents of the backpack all over the floor.

"Got you now!" Monty roared.

Iza panicked and stumbled to her feet. She quickly spied the laser gun and camera lying next to her feet. She snatched them up. Iza aimed the camera at Monty and pressed down with little option left.

A blinding flash erupted from the camera, catching both human and animatronic off guard.

"AAHHHH!" Monty screamed. "What in the bloody hell was that?!"

He looked up at Iza. "A fazcam? Where in the world did you get a working fazcam?!"

He shook off the shock then lunged at Iza again; she fired the gun. A beam of red light shot straight at Monty. The laser ricocheted off his glasses, not bothering him in the slightest. "You have a working fazerblaster too? Who are you?!"

Monty released an ear-piercing screech, but Iza quickly fired off the camera again before taking off. "You little rat!"

"Monty!" Chica's voice called.

"No, don't worry about me!" he gestured off before regaining his composure.

Iza zigzagged through more displays. She could hear Monty, Chica, and now Roxy close behind. However, now Iza was starting to slow down, then suddenly her foot caught once more. She lost her balance and crashed hard against a wall. Tears stung her eyes as her battered and bruised body fell to the ground. An ear-splitting scream erupted from her throat as she landed on her right side.

Finally exhausted and her adrenaline gone, Iza collapsed. Hot tears streamed down her cheeks.

A low grumble echoed. "Seems like you've finally run out of room."

Iza looked up; it took all her effort not to give in to the pain. "Leave me alone," she breathed heavily, her voice raspy and short.

"Unfortunately, my dear, we cannot do that," Monty said. "You know about our existence; we can't risk being found."

Immediately Monty surged forward and grabbed Iza by the left arm; his grip was like cast iron, but still slightly reluctant.

"Monty, wait!" Chica bounded forward and grabbed onto the gator's arm. "There has to be another way!"

Monty looked back at his friend, her eyes pleading and desperate. "I'm sorry, Chica," he sighed. "Roxy!"

Suddenly Roxy grabbed the smaller animatronic by the arms, forcing her to release her grip on Monty. "No, Roxy, please!"

Sadness filled Roxy's eyes. "Chica, please don't make this harder than it needs to be." She averted her gaze from the scene unfolding while restraining her hysterical friend.

Iza's heart sank as Monty's grip on her shoulder tightened. He raised the other arm above his head, flashing the sharp claws ready to strike her dead.

Any tears Iza had until that point increased tenfold, obstructing her view; Iza could only watch as the blurred green silhouette of Montgomery Gator towered over.

Monty raised his hand and came down will all his might. Iza slammed her eyes shut, waiting for the impact.

Nothing.

Confused, Iza cracked open an eye to see Monty's annoyed face.

He tried moving again, but his arm never budged. "Seriously, Chica, girl, what are—" Monty's voice faded as he spotted Roxy and Chica exactly where he had left them. Even more confused, he saw them frozen, staring at something behind them.

Monty followed their gaze before his. Jaw. Dropped. Restraining his wrist was a giant orange fist that belonged to a much larger animatronic standing behind him.

Monty and the others stared in shock, Iza frantically trying to catch her breath. "F-Freddy?" Monty whispered. "You're alright!" Joy spread across his face at the sight of his old friend.

Freddy's expression remained emotionless as he looked on and didn't reciprocate the happy reunion. "What's going on here?"

Monty's grin dropped. "Oh her?"

"Don't hurt her!" Chica cried, recovering from her shock.

"Explain," Freddy deadpanned. "Now."

Monty gulped at the deep voice. "She came into the building with a little robot and got chased around by the glitching security bots," Roxy chimed in before Monty could answer. "We were just going to get them to leave, but they saw us and now." Roxy gestured in front of her, letting Chica go.

Freddy shifted his stern gaze to the terrified young adult still in Monty's grip. "Leave her to me," he spoke.

"What?" Monty gaped. "Freddy, you can't be serious. We can't just let her go."

"You heard me," Freddy repeated. "I'll take care of her; you three go find that robot."

"But—"

Freddy glowered at Monty, his blue eyes causing Monty to shrink in stature and shut up. Freddy released Monty's forearm without another word before quickly locking his grip onto Iza's right upper arm.

Upon contact, Iza screamed. "Not there! Not there!" Her words slurred together as pain surged through her body. "Grab anywhere else! Not there!"

The sudden outcry caught everyone off guard, including Freddy. The sound made him flinch. He looked down at Iza's sleeveless and exposed arm covered in black and blue bruises and too many cuts to count. Freddy slightly released her shoulder then grabbed her left forearm, where Monty once held on. "Get up," he ordered.

No longer feeling the pressure on her shoulder, Iza stood, and with what little energy she had, she struggled. Desperate to escape the situation. She punched, kicked, and scratched, but it was fruitless against the several-hundred-pound robot.

Freddy ignored her antics and saw the fazerblaster and fazcam sitting by her feet. He bent down and snatched them up before turning to the others. "Find her companion; I'll take care of the girl."

He turned away and began walking across the room towards the last glass window, all while pulling along a screeching Iza who thrashed with everything she had. Iza stopped when she heard the heavy steps of the other animatronics moving in the opposite direction. "Inox!" she yelled. "Let me go!"

The bear ignored her as he walked through a door that slid open with a horrible creak. Once inside, he released his hold on Iza before quickly locking the door.

Now free, Iza spun around; anger, pain, and whatever other emotion the night had brought was evident in her eyes as she faced the over eight-foot-tall robot. "Let me out of here!" she shrieked.

"Not happening," he replied without looking at her. Instead, he placed the two objects on a table and stared at them, unmoving.

Iza growled. Everything tonight had been horrible. Forgetting all sense of reason, Iza marched straight up to the animatronic. "Who are you?! What am I doing here?!" she demanded.

Pulling himself out of his trance, he faced her. They locked gazes as glowing blue eyes met furious brown ones; then he spoke. "Freddy Fazbear."
