DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER.
It was the month of August and Abhimanyu was sitting in the dining room of his house in Park Lane, Wimbledon.
The house was a nice one. The entrance led to a staircase and the upstairs floor had four bedrooms and a bathroom. Downstairs, there was a living room upon turning left in front of the staircase combined with a neat little dining room plus a kitchen.
At the back of the room, there was a glass door which led to a nice little backyard.
Currently, Abhimanyu was eating breakfast with his parents, R.K. Pandey, who was a well built man wearing glasses, and Subhadra Pandey, a thin sweet looking woman.
Just as Abhimanyu's mother served him a dosa, they heard a screech and the next moment, they saw an owl tapping its beak on the glass door leading to the backyard.
Subhadra said, "Abhi, go open the door. Let it inside."
Abhimanyu quickly washed his hands and opened the door to let the owl in.
The owl hopped inside and held out an envelope in its beak.
Abhimanyu took it and patting the owl, opened it, knowing it to be his Hogwarts letter.
As he read it, his eyes widened with excitement.
R.K. asked, "Beta, what is it? You look so excited."
Abhimanyu showed the letter and cried out, "Papa, look, guess what, I'm head boy!"
Subhadra hugged Abhimanyu and cried out, "Ahhhh, my baby boy, Head Boy, I'm so proud of you!"
R.K. hugged his son saying, "I'm proud of you Beta! I'm glad to see that you are being responsible. After all, you need to be responsible to be a good head boy."
Abhimanyu said, "I look forward to this. I just hope no one will create too much trouble."
Subhadra said, "But you'll be fine. I trust you will do the right thing."
"Thanks Ma," Abhimanyu replied.
Subhadra then went into the kitchen and brought out a small plate with a piece of dosa on it for the owl.
The owl looked curiously at the dosa in front of it, pecked it, and gobbled it up before flying out of the back door.
Abhimanyu heard his father say, "Today, I have a very important meeting. You and your mother can go to Diagon Alley to get your books. Also, we should check your account in Gringotts."
Abhimanyu's parents had been saving for his college fees before finding out from Dumbledore that he was a wizard. After being taken to Gringotts by Dumbledore, they had opened an account for Abhimanyu, containing that money, which was not to be used until he finished his seventh year. For his school supplies, they used whatever money they would have used for Muggle high school. Luckily, R.K. Pandey was working for Tata, a prominent company which was currently being headed by J.R.D. Tata, so he was able to earn enough.
So a few hours later, Abhimanyu and his mother were in Diagon Alley.
Abhimanyu's mother said, "Son, are your uniforms fitting you well? You'd better tell me the truth."
Abhimanyu replied, "Ma, they're perfectly fine. Please, let's not go clothes shopping if we can help it."
Subhadra said, "Well, we'd better get your books."
They entered Flourish and Blotts and immediately began to search for the required books.
As Abhimanyu took a book for DADA which was on his list, he suddenly heard someone say, "Hello dear Abhimanyu Pandey."
He turned around and saw Bellatrix standing close to him.
Abhimanyu spoke, "Hello Bellatrix, what's up?"
Bellatrix replied smilingly, "Whatever's not down."
Abhimanyu asked, "How are you? And how are Andromeda and Narcissa?"
Bellatrix replied, "They're alright. Andromeda's starting her OWL year, and Narcissa will start joining us in Hogsmeade."
Abhimanyu said, "That's cool."
Bellatrix smilingly said, "Abhimanyu, guess who got picked to be the head girl."
Abhimanyu guessed, "You?"
Bellatrix showed him a Head Girl badge and said, "Yes, that's me!"
Abhimanyu exclaimed, "That's awesome! Guess what, I'm Head Boy!"
Bellatrix high fived him and said, "This is great!"
Just then, they both heard a voice, "Bellatrix, are you done selecting your books yet?"
Bellatrix called out, "Almost Father, just one more."
She then turned to Abhimanyu and whispered, "Listen Abhimanyu, that's my father, and I'll have to pretend to not be your friend. He'll be furious if he finds out about us."
Abhimanyu whispered, "Okay, I understand."
Bellatrix took the same book as Abhimanyu from the shelf and said a little loudly, "I'd better get going. I have some important things to do, that you will never understand, Muggleborn."
With that, she whispered, "Goodbye," and walked off.
As Bellatrix walked away and towards the cashier, she came across her father, Cygnus Black, middle aged man with a beard and dressed in a black suit.
Cygnus asked, "What took you so long Bellatrix? I hope you have not been wasting your time."
Bellatrix said, "Oh it was nothing father. I just had to find that book for defense."
Meanwhile, Abhimanyu stood rooted in his spot, lost in daydreams.
Just then, he heard someone calling out, "Hey mate!"
He turned around and saw none other than Ginger.
Ginger rushed over and said, "What's up mate? Haven't seen you in a while."
Abhimanyu replied, "I just got back from India a couple of days ago. I've had a little jetlag, but it's over now."
Ginger said, "Do you want to have lunch with us at the Leaky Cauldron? Molly and the twins are joining us."
Abhimanyu replied, "Sure, let me just inform my mom. And of course, I've got to pay for my books. Did you find yours?"
Ginger replied, "Just one left."
A few minutes later, after having paid for the books, Abhimanyu was standing with his mother and Ginger outside the bookstore.
Subhadra gave Ginger a hug and said, "It's so good to see you Beta."
Ginger replied, "Good to see you as well Aunty. Can Abhimanyu have lunch with us? Molly and the twins are joining us."
Subhadra said, "Of course, we'll all join you, but first, we need to go to Gringotts to check this guy's account."
Ginger said, "Okay. Mum's going over there too right now."
Sometime later, with all business settled, Abhimanyu was sitting with Ginger in the Leaky Cauldron, waiting for their mothers who had gone to the bathroom, and for Molly and her brothers as well.
Ginger looked at Abhimanyu and noticed him leaning his face against his palm, staring into space.
He asked, "Hey Abhi, is something wrong?"
Abhimanyu said, "Ginger, it's nothing."
Ginger said, "Abhimanyu, come on, I'm your brother in all but blood, tell me. I won't tell anyone else if you don't want me to."
Abhimanyu said, "I saw Bellatrix today."
Ginger said, "Something to do with her?"
Abhimanyu slowly said, "Ginger, I think I have feelings for her."
