Don't do it , Chapter 6

Laurel 2010

Anakin came home a little earlier on Friday, packed his clothes for the weekend, and pulled out the special present for his Angel from the drawer. He will put this bracelet on her wrist tonight and tell her that he loves her. It's been five weeks since they...since they, yes since that night. He was sure of his feelings now. He was looking forward to her, no not just physically, that too, but just to be with her. This time it also looked forward to friends they want to go out with. He put everything in the car and headed Washington D.C.

.

Washington D.C. 2010

Around 5:00 p.m. he arrived condominium reception and was waiting to be picked up.

"Miss Naberrie instructed us that, you Dr. Skywalker, can pass without control. You can go to the elevators."

"Thank you." He was surprised.

He rang the doorbell, Padmé opened the door and hugged him. They kissed.

"I've missed you so."

"I have missed you too."

"You can hang up the clothes, we don't want to go out rumpled, right? Do you want something to drink?"

"Yes, cup of tea would be great."

He hung the clothes in the wardrobe, took the bag, pulled out his underwear and that special gift for Padmé. He went into living room, sat down on the sofa, holding the Tiffany box in his hands. She came with two cups and sat down next to him, looking curiously at the box.

"What is it?"

"It's a special gift for you."

He opened the box, took out the bracelet, put it around her wrist and fastened the clasp. She opened her mouth but nothing came out, she was speechless.

"Padmé..." break "...I love you."

Her eyes filled with tears and she didn't even try to stop them, they found the way down her cheeks and dropped onto her blouse. He wiped away the tears with his thumb.

"Don't cry my Angel."

"You texted me that you love me, but hearing you say it to me, is something else entirely. I love you too, Anakin, very much indeed."

He kissed her...tenderly, the way only he could.

"I am happy to hear that. I love you, I love you both."

"I know, that's what they call a charm bracelet. What is the meaning of this key?"

"That is the key to our happiness. For each month of pregnancy you will get a pendant, the matching one."

"You are really creative, you have great ideas. I have something for you too..."

She took the key of her apartment out of he pocket and put it in his hand.

"…..so you can come and go whenever you want."

"Thank you for the trust."

"You're my boyfriend now, aren't you?"

"More than that. I am the father of your child and that obliges."

"Oh... by the way, we're invited by my parents' for Thanksgiving, we're flying to Boston. I need to introduce you to my family."

"Oh...wait a second, I'll check my on-call schedule." He checked his iPhone "I'm free, that means we can fly to Boston."

"Great. How much time do we have before we have to go?"

"A question with ulterior motives? I'm afraid, not enough Angel...either a quicky in the shower." He winked.

"Hurry up."

"I still have to shave."

They undressed, threw their clothes in the hamper and turned the water on warm. They entered the shower, the warm water rained down on their hair and bodies. He lifted her onto his hips and pressed her against the wall, took his length in his hand, found her entrance and slided slowly into her. He held her thighs to hold her in place and moved in and out till they reached their high point. The moans of the two lovers echoed in the large bathroom. After coming down from their high, they soaped each other up, he washed her hair and then put on the conditioner. When they were done they dried off, tossing the towels in the hamper and Padme blow-dried her hair into big waves, then they both applied a good dose of eau de parfum, Padmé took Chanel 5 and Anakin Antaeus. Anakin also dried his hair and applied a little gel for the shape.

"That's how I love your hair."

"I could pin up my hair too."

"No, that would be the congress-hairstyle, let it open."

He put on the dark gray suit and white shirt, tied a red Hermes tie with a fine pattern, and black oxfords. She took her classic boucle Chanel suit in shades of blue with a white and white silk top, as well as all the accessories that go with the suit, including a black Chanel bag and black Gianvito Rossi high heels.

"You are so beautiful, my Angel, the most beautiful woman I have ever seen."

"You're making fun of me."

"Oh no, I would be far too scared to tease my Angel. It's the truth, I swear."

"OK. and you look perfect...no, no, you are perfect Anakin."

"Why did you take off the bracelet? I want you to wear it always."

"OK. if you want I will do it. Let's go?"

She took a short blue swinger and Anakin his Burberry trench coat, yes he had one too.

Ben was there first. He got up and greeted the two warmly.

"You look great Dor...uh...Padmé. Sorry, I still have to get used to it."

"It's not your fault." She admitted sheepishly „...our dear Sabé always has to be the last one, it's because of the performance, you know...just kidding Ben." And laughed.

After a few minutes Sabé came too, looked great in the Prada outfit, Ben made big eyes, even Anakin looked at her with admiration. Padmé felt a faint twinge of jealousy. She greeted them all.

"You look good girlfriend, you must have a good style adviser."

"Yes, but I don't know if I can continue to afford it."

The evening started with a joke and it went on like that, boisterously, among friends. Anakin held Padmé's hand all evening, lowering it only to cut the meat. Now and then he raised her hand and kissed it, what Sabé and Ben didn't go unnoticed. The food was superb, top quality meat, vegetables, salad, dessert….Ben and Sabé were drinking wine but Anakin said to the waiter:

"For us just water please, we are pregnant."

Everyone laughed, even the waiter. It was a enjoyable evening, they sat together until midnight. Padmé decided to demand every little thing from Sabé on Monday, she wanted to know if Ben took the bait.

That night was the happiest night of Padmé and Anakin's lives. This time, unlike the first, they showed their love to each other and said I love you a thousand times.

"When do you think I'll start throwing up?"

"The nausea can start from the sixth week, but doesn't have to. Don't worry, if it gets too bad I'll give you something to relieve the discomfort."

"Would that harm the baby."

"No, otherwise I would never do that."

They slept late on Saturday, until 8:30, then showered, put on their jeans and sweaters and Anakin made the breakfast, eggs, bacon, tomatoes, toast, OJ, coffee. After cleaning up, they went for a long walk. They walked down 6th St SW to M PI SW, took the sidewalk to Southwest Waterfront Park and walked down the path to the Titanic Memorial.

"I love the water, I love Potomac. You know, when you're from Boston, you're addicted to water. I love the spots where you can see the open Atlantic, smell it and hear the screams of the seagulls."

"Where I come from, there's only the Thames and it's not particularly clean. I prefer to remember Heidelberg, Neckar and Neckarwiesen. When the weather was nice, I often sat there with fellow students and enjoyed the sun."

"You like Germany?"

"Oh yeah. That's where I spent the happiest time of my youth...but actually, the happiest time of my life is beginning now, with you, and maybe one day we'll move to Boston."

"I don't know if that's what I want at the moment, but you never know, Anakin."

They took the whole long way back home, sat on the couch and shared the stories of their past. In the afternoon they cooked together. It was a French potato casserole. There was also lettuce, but they didn't have dessert.

The evening passed in sweet togetherness, arm in arm on the couch. The night was passionate, they tried many new positions. The last was the missionary position. She was so near when he said:

"Padmé, look at me, look into my eyes. I want to see you when you come."

She could hardly keep her eyes open. Her mouth was open, her whole body convulsed, she let out only a muffled scream.

"That's good, my Angel, let it out." He whispered in her ear.

After a few thrusts, he was at his peak too, getting loud just like her. After a few long seconds he pulled out and started kissing and caressing her as usual.

"It was so wonderful, Anakin. Will it always be like this?"

"For sure. We'll always try something new, it creates excitement." He winked.

And then they fell asleep.

On Sunday they also got up quite late, took off their jeans and sweatshirts and went to the kitchen to get something to eat.

"Sunday-breakfast is always a lot of frittata with salad, then I cook late at afternoon and before bed I have only yoghurt with fresh fruits. We make Chicken Fricassee with rice and pickles today. OK.?"

"It doesn't get any better than that, Angel."

Breakfast dragged on, she made a lot of it. With a coffee cup in hand, she watched TV, news, sports and even a movie. Attack of the Clones this time. Padmé loved Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen. She said they played the couple of film history and their chemistry was incredible. Anakin agreed.

Late afternoon food was not as much, they were not hungry. Anakin stayed the night...and they couldn't get enough of each other.

The alarm clock rang too early for her liking on Monday morning. That meant they had to part their ways untill next weekend. They said goodbye in tears, he got in his car and drove towards Baltimore. She got dressed and went to Capitol.

"Hi girlfriend, how did it go on Friday?"

Padmé wanted to know, when they met for lunch.

"In front of the house entrance he kissed my hand and told me that he would like to see me again. If that's his pace, maybe a year from now we'll be fucking."

"Have you played all your charms?"

"I didn't mean…..I didn't mean to scare him, you know. Maybe all Scots are that shy."

"I'm going to ask Anakin, well Englishmen are definitely not."

"You've got it good."

"You mean to be pregnant?"

"Yeah, I'd like to be, damn Padmé, I'm running out of time."

"Understand."

And so it went every day of the week. Padme heard Sabé's wailing, understood her, comforted her. She was her best friend. She wished Ben would show interest. It was to be seen.

Laurel 2010

.

At the end of the week, on Friday afternoon to be precise, Padmé packed her things for the weekend and drove to Laurel. The house was clean, he had help for it, they wanted to do the weekly shopping together on Saturday and also go to dry cleaning. For Friday night they wanted to order pizza and watch TV.

"I'm in the mood for sushi."

"You shouldn't eat that, Angel. Listeria can be found in raw meat and fish as well as in smoked meat. This also applies to raw milk cheese. Even with the lettuce you have to be careful, clean it just before you want to eat it."

"What else can I eat Anakin? It is frustrating."

"We want one healthy baby, my Angel. Have you already made appointments for the medical check-ups somewhere?"

"No, not yet."

"You can't get an appointment right away, make one or better all for the first trimester. Where do you want to have it done?"

"I have good health insurance, I can afford Dr. Skywalker."

"Then we'll make an appointment with Dr. Skywalker..." he laughed loudly "...we have the first appointment in the eighth week, so in two weeks. Do you already have any complaints, nausea or something…?"

"No, can you make a checkup now, Dr. Skywalker?"

"Oh yeah, I'll do that right now...with my tongue?"

They went upstairs to the bedroom and she let him spoil her long and intensively. Anakin didn't miss out either.

Pizza was ordered, they ate and watched TV, news, sports and, as usual, a movie. This time an old James Bond film, Never Say Never Again.

"We can go out for dinner tomorrow, what do you think?"

"We can, but it's not worth going to Baltimore. There is nothing there, literally. You can't imagine how decayed this town is. I live here in Laurel so I don't have to watch it. If we want to go out, it's Washington D.C."

"OK. ,how about Del Mar ? It's an upscale Spanish restaurant and the food...mmm to die for. I can even eat something vegetarian if that puts your mind at ease."

"No, it just needs to be well done."

"Anakin, not to forget, we fly from Washington D.C. to Boston on Wednesday at 6:00pm. We have to be at the airport half an hour before."

"I have a suitcase, so an hour."

"Why suitcases?"

"I have to stow my suit somewhere."

"You don't need. My father and Darred don't wear suits either. Do you have a nice cardigan?"

"Yes."

"That one, a shirt and nice jeans, shoes...that's enough."

"Great. I just don't want to be out of the ordinary, I'm sure a lot is expected of me."

"Sure, and it's kind of normal, but I don't doubt you'll pass the test. You only have to be careful when it comes to politics. Republicans are not that popular at home."

"Angel, I'm English, nobody here is interested in English politics, but yes, I admit I've always voted for Tories."

"As long as you're not frantically defending their politics and you're not singing Rule Britannia, you'll be fine."

"Hopefully the tea party doesn't get stirred up."

"Oh my God, what have I got myself into? The father of my child is a Torie and I'm the assistant to a Senator who's a Democrat." She laughed out loud.

"I love you anyway, Angel."

"I love you too."

After a long night, came a tired morning, but shopping had to be done. Padmé didn't want to buy anything for herself, she wanted to do that on Monday since they are flying to Boston on Wednesday and will be there for four days.

After going to the dry cleaners, they made their way to the Food Lion. They bought everything they needed to make Osso buco on Sunday. They wanted to do that together. On Saturday afternoon, Padmé made dessert, Panna cotta. Until then, Anakin was doing the laundry.

That evening they got dressed up again, Del Mar was one of the better restaurants, and went out to eat, they were hungry. Grilled peppers with cheese on Hokaido pumpkin cream as appetizers, main course paella, dessert soft pastries with chocolate sauce. To drink, ice water with lemon. Anakin ate and drank the same, out of solidarity. She kept marveling at how considerate he was.

They still had to drive back to Laurel, with full stomachs, and tired for more sex, than only once. They snuggled up to each other and fell asleep.

The breakfast was not so rich, the night before they ate too much. Then they went for a long walk, Anakin said it was good for her condition. He recommended to start with pregnancy exercises.

Cooking together was a fun. Both could cook, but cooking together was one new experience. They carefully read the recipe and divided the work. It was a great success. The good food made good mood, Anakin said:

"Are you trying to make your husband unattractive to other women?"

"You are not my husband." she laughed.

"But soon, my Angel. I love you."

That was pretty obvious and she hoped he wouldn't change his mind.

Their nights were always exhausting but afterwards they were both satisfied with what they gave each other. On Monday morning they drove to work, Padmé to Washington D.C. , Anakin to Baltimore.

For lunch, as usual, Padmé met her friend and was curious how she had spent the weekend.

"We had dinner together on Saturday night. He accompanied me home, I got a passionate kiss, but that was all. Shit, what a snail's pace... maybe next time more will happen. I'm flying home for Thanksgiving, maybe the weekend after next. Do you also fly to Boston for the holidays?"

"Yes, Anakin was invited. My father has to make deep scan, you know it."

"Yes, Daddy's little girl...never to blame, the bad man must marry her now."

"Sometimes I really feel like a little girl for letting all this be done to me...and now...Anakin tells me too, don't do this and don't do that, because of the baby, you know."

"Padmé, you go from one addiction to another. Hit the table with your fist."

"But they're kind of right."

"You're easily influenced, that's the problem."

"Shit Sabé, I'm so comfortable with Anakin."

"Then, enjoy him and don't let him go...your Adonis, he's really hot Padmé. I wonder how he's still a bachelor."

"Hey, hands off, he's taken."

"It's alright, alright...I'm just saying."

On Wednesday afternoon, Anakin arrived with his bag, ready for the flight to Boston. Padme didn't have that much, she still had a lot of the clothes in Boston. They took a taxi to the airport, checked in online, boarded the plane and enjoyed the flight.

"I am a little bit nervous. I've never been introduced to a woman's parents, it always sounds so serious."

"Aren't you serious?"

"Oh yes I am, it's just...our situation. The whole thing suggests it's because of the baby."

"Is it not?"

"No. I would want you even without a baby."

"I love you Anakin Skywalker."

"I love you too, Padmé Naberrie."

"I didn't tell you, I have a middle name."

"Realy? Tell me."

"Amidala."

"Fine, but I like Padmé better and Engel even better. I also have a middle name.

"What is it?"

"Alden"

"Is that typically English?"

"Actually yes."

"I like it, but I'll stick with Anakin."

.

Boston 2010
.

At Logan International, Anakin bought a Barbie doll and school pencil case, a French cognac, large box of chocolates and let everything beautifully wrapped. They took a taxi to Padmé's parents' house. They lived in one of the typical houses of Boston's Bach Bay East, at 61 Commonwealth Ave. The building was relatively narrow, red brick facade combined with plastered elements. It had a ground floor, two floors and an attic. Houses like that in Boston cost millions...but Padmé's parents were well-known lawyers.

Padmé unlocked the door, Anakin took a deep breath, then exhaled and went in...into the lion's den, he thought.

"Mom, we're here!"

The mother came running, followed by the whole family: father, Sola, her husband Darred and the girls.

"So...I would like to introduce you, my boyfriend...Dr. Anakin Skywalker."

"I'm Padmé's sister Sola. My sister described you very well, every single word is true. Come on, I'll give you the first kiss...of the family."

He bent down and returned the kiss.

"Not so hasty Sola. Here are my parents…."

Jobal hugged him in greeting and Ruwee shook his hand warmly, as did Darred. Hiding behind the father, Ryoo and Pooja now came out and approached Anakin. Anakin crouched down, took the presents for the girls from the bag and gave it to them.

"Thank you Uncle Anakin."

"You're welcome."

He smiled at girls. They were so cute. Maybe his baby... maybe a girl will be just as beautiful. All of the Naberrie women were beautiful, dark hair and brown eyes. He passed the Pralinés to Jobal.

"Something sweet for the ladies."

"Oh thanks, that wasn't necessary." Said Jobal.

"And something strong for the gentlemen." And handed the cognac to Ruwee.

"Thanks...you can take off and we'll sit down together in the salon for a bit before we eat."

Now Anakin knew why Padmé had a preference for Regency style. The whole living area and dining room, even the library, was Regency style, beautiful Persian carpets and silk curtains. He looked around, Ruwee noticed.

"Do you like the Regency style?"

"Oh yes, it reminds me of my home in London."

"Do you have Regency in your house here too?"

"No, I furnished everything in a modern way, otherwise I would be reminded of home in England every day."

"Don't you want to be reminded of that?"

"It hurts when that what you love is so far away."

"Do you have parents in England?"

"Yes...and just call me Anakin."

"If you call me Ruwee..."

"We join." Sola said.

"Do you have siblings?"

"I have a stepbrother. My mother married again when I was five. She became a widow when I was just a year old. My father was a captain at Royal Navy, was a pilot, flew Sea Harriers. He fell in the Falklands War."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, Anakin. What are your parents doing?"

"My stepfather, I call him father, I had no other, is a landowner, he has estates and possessions in Kent and my mother has always been with New Scotland Yard."

"An...agent?" Ruwee joked.

"Not exactly, but everyone at Scotland Yard is...a kind of agent."

Everyone laughed but it was half true...or all of it. Then Ruwee asked him about his school days, studies, professional training... and slowly he tied the connections. He was the lawyer and perceptive.

"Well...to be specific, as a father, what are your intentions with Padmé?"

"We're together now and when we've gotten to know each other properly, Padmé doesn't want to rush..." he pulled Padmé, who was sitting next to him, tightly to him and looked into her eyes, "...then we'll both decide how to proceed. "

Ruwee didn't expect such an answer and kept digging.

"Padmé doesn't know what she wants ...sometimes. "

"I think she knows that she wants me and I want her. We both know what is the best for us and our baby."

The man is clever, thought Ruwee, he liked him more and more.

"Baby? Aunt Padme, how are you going to have a baby if you're not married?"

"Oh shit." Padmé whispered, "Sola, can you do that?"

"Why have I always to get the chestnuts out of the fire, Padmé? I'll explain that to you later girls."

Everyone laughed. They always seemed like they were playing and busy, but it turned out they got everything with one ear.

The food was something that Jobal could prepare earlier, Padmé's favorite dish could not be missing, Vitello Tonnato.

"Can you make that too, my Angel? It tastes great. You can show me how to make."

"For sure."

"My Angel, sounds so...in love." Sola was always teasing.

"I am in love, Sola." Anakin admitted, smiling.

"Is that why Aunt Padmé is expecting a baby now?" Ryoo wanted to know.

"You children are very clever, Sola. Yes, Ryoo, Pooja, that's why it is so." Anakin said.

"Then we probably won't have any more siblings, Pooja." Ryoo said.

Darred and Sola looked at each other, eyebrows raised.

"A little more PDAs won't make the kids lose the hope." Padmé teased.

After dinner was eaten, Jobal had the housekeeper clean up everything. Jobal always took professional help when she had guests. The girls went to bed and the adults stayed for a while with a bottle of Napa Valley Chardonnay. Ruwee asked Anakin why he wasn't drinking and when he said that he wasn't drinking out of solidarity with Padme, he couldn't be surprised enough. It was getting late and everyone went to bed, after all, tomorrow is also a day and a very special one, despite the help, there will be a lot to do.
