Nejire has already asked Tamaki 10 times whether he was sick or not.
Each time he replied with a firm 'no' and by the 11th answer, she started getting a little suspicious.
But, alas, no matter how many times she pouts her boyfriend still insists on toughing it out by claiming he isn't sick when he's red and tired looking.
Nejire, however, is not a fool and her partner's act is transparent.
The more he pretends nothing is wrong the more she becomes relentless.
Until Tamaki snaps at her to leave him alone. Which, she does.
Nejire doesn't realise if she is ever too much for someone but if they make it known to her, she will back off. That being said, this isn't just anyone.
And the way things are going, Tamaki's sickness will only get worse.
So she does things differently.
"Hey, hey, Tama-Kun, are you hiding the fact that you're sick from me? Trying to look cool? Or tough? Or maybe you love me that much and don't want to spend even a second away from me!" Nejire lists all the reasons that Tamaki would be lying to her.
"Nejire, for the last time I'm not si-" As if fate were mocking him, Tamaki burst into a fit of coughs.
"Then why are you coughing? Are you choking? Is it an allergy? Hey, tell me what's wrong so then I can help you. Why are you being so stubborn, Tama-Kun? I just want you to be okay."
Tamaki falls silent and looks down at his girlfriend.
Nejire is neither smiling, nor pouting. She is frowning.
A rare sight to see, that one.
"I'm sorry..." After Tamaki's apology they both visited Recovery Girl, who directly sent Tamaki to the dorms to rest.
In a battle of stubbornness, few can defeat Nejire.
And the fact that her lover really was sick just made the victory easier.
