AlessiaNott prompted: "how about the time Enzo becomes papa?" combining with Ronnie_R's prompt "I'm unsure if if Stef has a Little group that he attends in this series, but I was thinking of another Little talking to him about the "evils" of step-parents. This would be at the beginning of his relationship with Enzo, and I thought with Stefan's love for Cinderella he might be more susceptible to the idea of an "evil" step-parent. Or maybe not even Evil but potentially slowly taking Damon away from him or something like that."

Lexi is mentioned in this chapter but I'm going to try to keep that to a minimum as I know some don't like her and I would prefer to keep this about Denzo + Stef!

Stefan walks down the stairs, rubbing at his eyes and yawning.

"Lexi?"

A deep, familiar voice comes from the living room. "She's not here, buddy."

Stefan's eyes light up as he vamps to the source. His dad stands there with Enzo, both grinning.

"Dad!" Stefan exclaiming, throwing his arms around him.

Damon lifts him up into his arms and spins him around. Stefan giggles. "Hey, Bunny Boy."

Stefan latches his legs around his father's waist, resting his head on his shoulder. It's only the second time that Damon left him for a whole night. This time, Enzo went too. They decided to go to a hotel in a neighboring town for a night "just them". Despite his feelings on her, Lexi was the only person Damon trusted to watch him for the night. As much as Stefan loves her, he missed his dad and Enzo.

Speaking of, Enzo leans over and kisses his cheek. "Ciao, Bambino." He ruffles his hair. "Have fun with Lexi?"

"Uh huh. She let me have ice cream for dinner."

Damon rolls his eyes. "Of course she did." He shakes his head. "How late did you stay up?"

"Not too long," Stefan fibs. Truth is, he dropped a little and his younger self couldn't read the clock.

"Uh huh. She seemed a bit too happy leaving this morning."

Stefan frowns. "She's gone?"

"She had to catch her fight, but she says she'll call you later." The teen sighs and nods. "Enzo and I stopped at the deli to get bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches. Interested?"

Stefan perks up at that. Unsurprisingly, Damon carries him to the kitchen and sits with him on his lap. He snuggles him close and messes with his face, pinching his cheeks and tapping his nose. Stefan only protests a little. He knows how hard it is for Damon to leave him. It'll probably be awhile before it happens again.

Enzo doesn't grab the bag on the counter, rather lingers beside his boyfriend's chair. Damon looks up at him, tilting his head.

"Now?"

"I don't think I could sit through breakfast."

Stefan furrows his brows. "What's going on?"

Damon smiles. "Well, buddy, remember when Enzo moved in, we talked about how you'd feel if we got married?"

Stefan nods. "I said I'd be cool with it."

"Well…"

Enzo holds out his left hand. On a very important finger is a silver band with a circle of diamonds around it. Stefan's eyes light up, looking between the two.

"You're getting married?!"

"We are, Bambino," Enzo says, a bit of nervousness in his voice. "How do you feel about that?"

"It's the best thing ever!"

Enzo smiles, relief filling his eyes. "Really?"

"Duh."

Stefan gets out of Damon's grasp and throws his arms around him. Enzo scoops him up, pressing a million kisses to his face. Stefan giggles, swatting at him.

"When are you two getting married?"

"Soon," Damon says, standing up and rubbing his fiancé's back. "We're not going to do a whole big wedding. Likely just the courthouse. But I'd still like you to be my best man."

Stefan nods, excitedly. "Of course."

He didn't expect his dad to ever want a big wedding. A part of him didn't think Damon would ever get married. Even with Enzo moving in, that's the most commitment Stefan's ever witnessed. It was a very big step.

"You're really okay with this?" Damon asks. "This is your home too."

"Seriously, Dad, I'm more than okay." He wraps his arms around Enzo's neck. "I'm happy for both of you."

Enzo smiles. "Good." He gives him one last kiss. "Help me get breakfast out, Bambino."

Damon shakes his head. "No, I need my cuddles. I didn't see him at all last night."

"He's going to be mine too," Enzo points out.

Stefan rolls his eyes. "I'm not a doll you can fight over," he says.

"No, but you're very cute."

Enzo pinches his cheek. Stefan pulls away, jumping to the floor.

"On second thought, I don't want either of you. You're annoying and embarrassing."

Damon smirks. "Yeah, I totally believe that, Stef."

He wraps his arms around his son and keeps him close. Stefan sighs but doesn't try to pull away. There could be worse things than having two people fighting over him.

It's a rainy day the next time Stefan drops. His daddy takes him to their baby group. There's not too many kids in attendance, so he sits at the craft table with his friend, Freddie. Stefan pokes his tongue out of his mouth as he focuses on his coloring page. Sometimes he has trouble staying in the lines, but today he's doing a good job. The yellow stays within Cinderella's crown. He drops the crayon and picks up a white one to start on her dress. Freddie glances over from his Shrek page.

"Her dress is 'posed to be white," he points out.

Stefan shakes his head. "It can be whatever I want. Plus, she's getting married to the prince. See, she has a thingy coming out of her hair." He points to the veil.

"I've been to a wedding," Freddie says. "It was fun. There was lots of cake and music."

"My daddy's getting married. But it's gonna be small. I hafta wear a suit." Stefan pulls a face. "But Enzo says I can wear sneakers and not the pinchy shoes."

Freddie scrunches up his face. "Your daddy's getting married?"

"Uh huh. I'm gonna have a daddy and a step-daddy. And a crow." Stefan pauses. "Maybe we can get a puppy too."

Stefan knows very little about weddings, but he does know there are presents. Maybe he can talk Enzo into getting his daddy a puppy.

"I don't want a step-dad," Freddie says, dropping his green crayon. "I like just having a mommy."

Stefan shrugs. "Mommies are nice. I like having a daddy. And an Enzo. He's nice. He makes me cookies and lets me help in the garden."

"He's not gonna stay nice."

Stefan frowns. "Nuh uh. He loves me!"

"Now. But step-mommies and step-daddies are mean." Freddie gestures to the coloring sheet. "Like Cinderella. Her step-mommy made her sleep in the attic and wouldn't let her go to the ball."

Stefan stares at his page. He's seen the movie a million times. Tremaine is a meanie, but..Enzo isn't like that. "She just liked her own daughters better. Enzo doesn't have any babies."

"Snow White's step-mommy didn't have babies, but she was still mean."

Stefan squirms in his seat. Enzo isn't like Tremaine or the Evil Queen! He's like a prince. Daddy loves princes. He says Enzo reminds him of Flynn, especially the smolder.

"Those are step-mommies," Stefan points out. "Enzo's gonna be my step-daddy."

"There's meanie step-daddies too. Kayla had one. He wouldn't let her spend any time with her mommy. She had to go to her real daddy's house."

Stefan doesn't have another daddy. His mommy is gone. If Enzo doesn't want him around…where would he go?

He stares at his picture. Cinderella is smiling, wearing her stupid wedding dress. And stupid hair thingy.

Stefan crumples it up and throws the picture in the wastebasket.

He doesn't want to go away. All his toys are at the house. Crow is really Damon's, he wouldn't get to come. Stefan doesn't want to leave his daddy. He doesn't want Enzo to hate him.

Maybe if he's a very good boy, they won't want to send him away. Maybe the reason Tremaine was so mean is Cinderella never cleaned her room! Or help around the house. That's why she made her do it so much.

Stefan will be a very good boy. The best little boy. His daddy won't have to remind him to clean up or do his homework. Enzo won't have to be mean. Stefan will get to stay.

Once home, Stefan cleans up his room, then gets to work on his toys in the living room. He even puts Cinderella, Gus and Bunny away. They won't clutter the house. Damon eyes him carefully.

"Don't you want to play, Stef?"

Stefan shakes his head. "Nuh uh. I'm cleanin' up."

"I can see that," Damon watches as he puts all his Legos in the bin. "Do you want some help? This is a big mess."

"I can do it, Daddy."

Damon hesitates, but nods. "I'm going to get some boring paperwork done, then. Do you need anything?"

"I'm okay."

"Come get me if you change your mind."

Damon kisses the top of his head and leaves the room. It takes Stefan a long time to tidy up his toys. He takes extra care in organizing them, making sure every piece of dollhouse furniture is just right.

When he's done, he straightens the living room. He puts all the remotes in the caddies and puts the magazines in piles. Stefan brings his sippy cups into the kitchen and puts them into the dishwasher. He looks around at the counters. They're sticky from this morning's breakfast. Damon was going to clean, but Stefan wanted to get to his baby class so badly.

Stefan grabs a sponge and some water. He scrubs as hard as he can, trying to make it shiny. The ordeal takes 45 minutes. By the time the job is done, he hears Enzo's car pull up in the driveway.

He bolts upstairs to his room and starts looking around. Maybe if he moves up to the attic first, Enzo will be happy. Stefan won't have to be asked. He shouldn't have to be.

It takes a few tries for Stefan to pull down the ladder to the attic. Slowly, he climbs it, shuddering at the thought of the spiders up there. Daddy never lets him up there. He says it's not for little boys. But things are different now.

Stefan searches for the light but comes up short. He folds his arms over his chest, wishing he had brought Bunny and Gus with him.

Cinderella didn't have toys. He'll be fine without them.

Stefan pushes through the boxes and totes, trying to stay brave. His heart beats heavily as his chest as he searches for a corner that he could set up a bed of some sort. Maybe blankets and a pillow? A mattress probably wouldn't fit with all the junk.

Something brushes against his face and Stefan screams, jumping back. He fumbles over some boxes and lands with a thud on the floor. Stefan backs up a little, seeing the spider dangling from the rafters.

"Stef?" Damon's voice travels from downstairs. "Where are you?"

Stefan doesn't respond. He sticks his thumb in his mouth and begins sucking. He curls up into a ball, leaning against a tote filled with Christmas decorations.

"Why is the attic ladder down?" Enzo asks from the distance.

Damon sighs. "Stefan!" Silence. "Stefan Antonio, you better not be up there!"

Stefan frowns. He was doing what Cinderella did. Why is his daddy mad?

"Stefan, I'm going to count to 5 and your little butt better be down here. You don't want me to have to come get you."

Stefan freezes up. He did something bad. Enzo won't be happy.

"1…2…"

Stefan crawls quickly for the ladder, a splinter dragging into his skin. He yelps, but keeps going. With shaky hands, he climbs down the ladder. His daddy shuts the door. Stefan takes him in. His eyes are narrow, arms folded over his chest. Enzo stands beside him, shaking his head. Stefan's lip quivers.

"I have told you time and time again not to go up there," Damon lectures. "It isn't safe. There's too many scary things."

"I…I…I was just…"

"There's nothing up there to play with," his daddy continues. "This is why I told you to not clean up all your toys. You need something to do."

"I'm sorry, Daddy," Stefan whispers. "I was just trying to be a good boy."

Damon cocks a brow. "By not following Daddy's rules?"

"I was moving into my new room without being asked."

"New room?" Enzo repeats, his face scrunched up.

"Uh huh. For when you and Daddy get married."

"Why would you need a new room?"

"Because when you get a step-mommy or step-daddy you have to sleep in the attic."

Damon and Enzo exchange a confused look. Stefan rocks back and forth on his heels. He tried to do the right thing and he still got it wrong! He's so stupid. Stefan brings his finger to his mouth, sucking at it and trying to get out the splinter.

"Stef." Damon's voice gets the little one to drop his injured finger. "Where did you get the idea that you had to sleep in the attic just because I'm marrying Enzo?"

Stefan shrugs. "Cinderella had to. And she had to clean lots. I was trying to be a good boy so you wouldn't be upset and send me away."

Enzo gasps, getting down to his level. He cups his cheek.

"Bambino, Cinderella is just a fairytale. It's not real."

"Kayla from baby class' step-daddy sent her away."

Damon crouches beside Enzo. "Baby, I would never, ever let that happen."

Stefan tilts his head. "Really?"

"You are my entire world. I would never let someone take you from me."

Enzo nods. "And I would never want to send you away. I love you so much, Bambino. Oh, come here."

He sits on the floor, putting Stefan on his lap. The little one is cracked close. Damon settles beside them, rubbing his thumb over his son's knuckles.

"That must have been so scary," Enzo whispers. "Thinking we would do that to you."

"Wanted to be a good boy," Stefan whispers. "So you'd still love me."

"Hey, hey, hey. We will always love you," he caresses his hair. "You don't have to change at all."

Damon nods. "Stefan, this is your home. Forever and always. There's no way I…we…would ever stop loving you or make you leave."

Stefan sniffles. "Promise?"

"Promise." Damon kisses his cheek.

Enzo gently rocks him. "In fact, I want to show you something."

Damon tilts his head. "I thought you wanted to wait?"

"He needs this now."

Enzo stands up, adjusting Stefan in his grip. Damon follows them into the bedroom. Enzo puts the little boy on his hip. Stefan grips onto his t-shirt as he picks up a folder and flips through it.

"Can you read this, buddy?" Enzo asks. Stefan tries, but the letters all blend together. He shakes his head. "It's so I can officially become your father, after Daddy and I get married."

Stefan's eyes widen. "You want to be my daddy too?"

A single tear drops down Enzo's cheek, but he's still smiling. "Sì, Bambino. If you'd like, I would be honored to be your father."

Stefan stares at him in amazement. He didn't think he'd ever have two daddies! The fact that Damon wanted to be his daddy felt very special. It still doesn't feel real sometimes.

"What do you say, Bunny Boy?" Damon asks, stroking his cheek.

"Yes, please." Enzo beams, kissing his forehead, then his cheeks and nose. Stefan giggles, then grows serious. "But I already have daddy. I can't call you that, it'd be confusing…"

Enzo shakes his head. "It's okay, you don't have to call me that if you don't want to."

Stefan thinks for a moment. If Enzo is going to be his dad, he can't call him by his first name. It's not right. "Papa," he decides.

Another tear falls down Enzo's cheek. "What's that?"

"I can call you "papa". It means daddy in Italian, right?"

Enzo nods. "Yes, yes it does."

"Okay…then you're my papa."

Stefan kisses his cheek. Enzo cuddles him closer. The little one's hair grows a little wet.

"Yes, Bambino, I'm your papa," Enzo whispers.

They stay like that for several minutes, Stefan not letting go. If anything, Enzo's grip grows tighter. Damon wraps an arm around both of them, giving the two kisses. Stefan reaches up and wipes Enzo's tears, just like his dads do when he's sad. Enzo smiles for a minute until he gets a look at his son's hand. He examines it.

"Where'd you get this boo boo?"

Stefan frowns. "The attic."

Damon moves closer to see it, letting out a small hiss. "I'll get it out."

Stefan kicks his legs a little, nearly getting Enzo in the chest. "That's gonna hurt," he whines.

Enzo gently bounces him. "Shhh, it's alright, Bambino. Papa will hold you the whole time."

So, in "I'm right here", we know Damon wasn't always the biggest fan of Tyler for awhile. Next time, we'll see how Enzo feels about him.

As always, let me know what you think and feel free to leave prompts!
