(One week later)

It'd been a week since Rose went crazy on that pitbull. Ever since then, she and Dodger had been put into a coma. The gang has been worried ever since then. There was no sign that Rose would be the same ever again.

They couldn't lose her because of that. Animal control would surely get wind of this and be on the hunt for her. Rita, and Einstein watched over the resting dogs while Fagin went to get food.

Things didn't seem too looking up for them. Fagin hoped that Rose will still be the same sweet puppy she was before. He was still grateful that Dodger had stopped him.

After a while, there was twitching on Dodger's ears. Dodger's eyes opened and he struggled to get to his paws.

"Dodger!" Rita and Einstein barked. The terrier looked up at the other two dogs with tired eyes. "Did something hit me?" he said.

The terrier felt Einstein lick the young dog on the cheek with his long tongue. Rita hugged him with her paws.

Dodger looked over at an unconscious Rose, who was laying on her mess of blankets. She laid on her chest with her front legs extended and her head rested on her left front leg, her hind legs were tucked against her belly, and her tail was wrapped around her. Her ears were laying on her head limply on the side of her head.

"How is she?" he asked, walking over to Rose. "She's not doing well. I hope she'll wake up soon," Einstein replied.

"Oh... Where's Fagin?" Dodger asked. "He went to get food," Rita said, laying closer to her best friend.

They had to get to get to the root of the problem. "Guys, this is serious. How're we going to go out without animal control on us?" Rita asked.

"That's a big problem. A lot of humans probably saw Rose attack another dog. Even this dog is going to be a problem," Einstein said, lying beside the smaller dogs on his chest.

His forelegs out in front of him. "That's something we can talk about when she wakes up. But what made her go crazy like that?" Rita wondered, still shocked to see her like this.

Einstein, being a few years old now and not being the smartest tool in the shed most times, knew why Rose went crazy. "When she saw you getting hurt, she was gonna give him a few bites to get him to back off, but when she tasted his blood, that's what made her go crazy. She wouldn't stop until her thirst for blood was quenched. Even if it meant killing him," the Great Dane explained.

"How do you know?" Dodger asked. "Because it happened to me when I was your age. Fagin had to pull me off and take me away from there," he said.

Dodger was shocked to hear this. As gentle as Einie was, he wouldn't think that he did the same thing as Rose.

After a while, they went to sleep. Fagin was happy to see that Dodger was awake. He had found some food for them to eat, but they made sure to save some for Rose.

When it was dark out, Rose's pointed ear twitched. She opened her eyes and lifted her head, feeling it ache. "Ow..." she moaned, closing her eyes.

"What happened...?" she wondered, seeing that she was in the barge on her blankets. Rita was the first one to see her.

"ROSE!" she barked happily, running to her. Her bark woke everyone else up. Rose smiled at the gang weakly. "Hey, guys," she said.

Fagin picked her up and hugged her tightly. Rose smiled, closing her left eye. "I'm glad you're alive!" he laughed. Einstein licked the mixed breed on her cheek.

"We're so happy you're the same!" Dodger shouted, nuzzling her.

After Rose ate some food, they decided to get some rest because they had a long dy tomorrow.
