History: Janet Van Dyne was the only child of noted scientist Vernon Van Dyne and his wife. Her mother having passed away when she was a child, Janet was often raised by her father's servants while he tolled away in one of his labs. Janet poured herself into whatever field caught her interest, rarely staying in one field for long. When her father died at the hands of an alien creature, Janet devoted herself to the growing field of superheroes.

At first a mere supporter of Hank Pym and his wife Maria, Janet soon took the moniker Giant Girl after an accidental exposure to Pym Particles caused her to grow to giant size (and accidently destroy the Pym's house in the process). Dubbing herself Giant Girl, Janet went on to join the Avengers.

After several years on the team, Janet left the Avengers to form an expansion of the team on the West Coast.

Comments: Created by me, based on ideas created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Ernie Hart

Keeping with the Pym thread, since Maria would be the Wasp, why not have Janet be Giant Girl? I would point out I had the idea before Jeff Parker, but that's neither here nor there.
