History: Peter Parker, after his parents died, was taken in and raised by his aunt and uncle. Life was hard, but the young boy had an aptitude for science.

When he was a teenager, he took in a scientific exhibit on radiation. Unknown to him, a spider had been exposed to the isotopes in the reactor. Irradiated, the dying arachnid landed on Peter's hand and bit him, thus granting the boy spider powers.

From there he first tried to use his abilities for personal profit. From TV shows to professional wrestling, his star was rising until one day a thief robbed the box office at the auditorium. Opting to do nothing, Peter learned a harsh lesson when the same thief broke into his home a few days later and killed his Uncle Ben. Taking the motto 'With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility' to heart, Spider-Man then devoted himself to fighting crime.

He fought solo, for the most part, although he did manage to team up with nearly every active hero in the 1960s and early 70s. He never officially joined the Avengers, but he did become a reserve member. He married Mary-Jane Watson shortly after graduating college, after revealing his secret identity to her.

He slowed down a bit into the 80's before finally retiring and passing the Spider-Man mantle onto student Miles Morales.
