History: Steve Rogers was born 1920 to Joseph and Sarah Rogers. Joseph passed away soon after his son's birth due to lingering effects of mustard gas he was exposed to during the Great War. Sarah struggled to raise Steve and died from pneumonia while Steve was a teenager. By 1940 Steve was living as student.

Seeing the rise of Nazis in Europe, Steve tried to enlist but was rejected multiple times to his poor health. His determination was noticed by Dr. Abraham Erskine who had the sickly Rogers brought into Project: Rebirth. Rogers was the only success and the only test subject as a spy killed Erskine. There was another attempt being run at the same time, but the subject of that test, Isiah Bradley, was kept from the public and wouldn't be acknowledged until the late 70's.

At first viewed as a failure, Rogers seemed doomed to endless USO shows but he proved his value rousting fifth columnists and from there was sent to the European theater. He picked up a sidekick in Camp Leigh 'mascot' Bucky Barnes and the pair helped form the Invaders.

Rogers would became a battlefield legend across Europe and Africa until tragedy struck in 1945. Going to catch the infamous Nazi scientist Baron Zemo ended with Bucky dead and Rogers seemingly killed in action but unknown to all he was actually frozen in ice.

Unknown to Rogers the name Captain America would be reassigned. First to William Nasland (the Spirit of '76), who would wear the mantle until his death at the hands of the robot Adam II in 1946. The masked hero the Patriot (Jeffery Mace) would take up the name from 1946 until his retirement in 1949. The name would be used again by a man named William Burnside from 1953 until 1955.

Steve Rogers might have stayed frozen forever until his discovery by the Avengers in 1964. He was shocked at the changes the world had gone through, but he slowly adjusted.

Despite a brief period of crisis where he turned down the mantle and became Nomad: The Man without a Country, Steve has stayed loyal to the American Dream and fighting for the little guy to the present day.
