History: Nasland had a solid middle-class background. Working as a reporter, he was in England when World War II broke out. Approached by a mysterious man known as Alfie, Nasland was offered the chance to be a masked hero and took it, unaware that Alfie was actually a Nazi spy. When Alfie was exposed, Nasland kept the cloak and operated mostly in the UK during the war.

When Steve Rogers seemingly dead, Nasland was approached by the US government to act as a replacement. Given a crash course and a replacement shield, Nasland was partnered with Fred Davis to be the new Bucky and placed with the Invaders. It was quickly decided to place Nasland and Davis in the Pacific Theater, as to best sell the idea and avoid the chances of the replacements meeting someone who knew the originals.

After the war, Nasland was allowed to continue being Captain America with the newly formed All-Winners Squad. He lead the team briefly before being killed by the android Adam II in late 1946. The mantle of Captain America would then be passed on to Jeffery Mace (the Patriot) and later William Burnside in the 1950's.
