History: The Saunders family had a deep connection with the Old West. Gracie's grandfather was a calvary scout. Her father was a sheriff in a small Wyoming town. Gracie grew up watching her father having gunfights with the various gangs that used the mountains as a hideout.
Gracie earned her education and country singer, touring through the Southeast. When her father was killed by a gang of gold thieves, Gracie was called back from the Grand Old Opry and tracked won the gang members herself. After dragging them back to face justice, Gracie devoted her self to hunting down criminals across the plains.
Thus the Vigilante was born. As the 'Singing Troubadour', Gracie played to packed music halls from New York City to Atlanta, while as the Vigilante she hunted those who operated above the law.
She earned a partner in the form of the New York based Chinatown Kid, a similar vigilante who was the grandson of White Lotus leader Lin Chou. Jimmy Leong proved to be an invaluable ally.
The Vigilante was a founding member of the Seven Soldiers of Victory and later joined the wartime All-Star Squadron.
Gracie found herself thrown back to the days of the Old West when the Soldiers battled the Nebula-Man. The rest of the Soldiers found her and brought her back to her proper time, a few years older than when she left.
The Vigilante's last case happened in the 1960 when her old foe the Dummy murdered the Chinatown Kid. Gracie and her old partner's son Victor teamed up to bring the killer to justice. After that, Gracie retired to focus on her music.
Powers: The Vigilante was a superb hand-to-hand combatant, an excellent equestrian, master of the lariat, and an excellent shot with most pistols.
