Chapter 1: Welcome to Jade Mountain Academy
Hunter breathed in the ever-changing air as he rode on Spyro's back. They were flying along the rocky edges of the Cloud Mountains, and Hunter felt a sting of irony. It had been at least three years since he and Spyro escaped the underground caverns and, at Spyro's suggestion, moved around Pyrrhia until they were sure that the Nightwings were not searching the continent for Spyro. But this time, things were different now.
"There it is!" Spyro said, pointing a claw to the mountain they were flying toward. In the distance was the tallest mountain in Pyrrhia, home of the academy they were going to: Jade Mountain Academy.
"Wow," Hunter breathed. "Can you see the dragons in the distance, Spyro?"
"Yeah, barely," Spyro replied immediately. He paused and said, "We probably would have never got that acceptance letter if I didn't know the Dragonets…"
"Yeah, probably…" Hunter didn't like the way Spyro had said 'if I didn't know the Dragonets.' Spyro was never one to give himself credit for much, anyway.
They swooped down for a better look. Hunter then saw something that confused him. A dark, purple mist was engulfing most of the mountain. He blinked, and it disappeared. He hated stuff like that; it always gave him an uneasy feeling, like something happens without him there to have a say in it. But, then again, he was just 11; what did he know?
As they approached the mountain, Hunter couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. Jade Mountain Academy was known for its diverse group of dragons, each with their unique abilities and backgrounds. The idea of attending such a prestigious school filled Hunter with anticipation.
Spyro banked left, circling the mountain to find the entrance. As they neared a large clearing, a figure caught Hunter's eye. A dragon with shimmering scales of multiple colors approached, and it wasn't long before Hunter recognized the Dragonets of Destiny – Clay, Tsunami, Glory, Starflight, and Sunny.
"Spyro! Hunter! Over here!" Clay called out, waving his wing in the air. The Dragonets of Destiny had grown, their once small sizes now more in line with adolescent dragons. Hunter couldn't help but feel a bit starstruck; after all, these dragons had played a crucial role in shaping the destiny of Pyrrhia.
Spyro descended gracefully, landing in the clearing as the Dragonets gathered around. They exchanged greetings, and it became evident that the Dragonets had a surprise in store for Hunter and Spyro.
"Welcome to Jade Mountain Academy," Tsunami announced with a grin. "We're not just students; we're the founders of this academy, and we're thrilled to have you both here."
The mention of the academy being founded by the Dragonets of Destiny added a layer of mystery to the already enchanted atmosphere. Hunter felt a surge of curiosity and wondered what adventures awaited them within the halls of Jade Mountain Academy.
Silver, the Headmaster, Showed Them the way to the Great Hall. Silver's scales shimmered in the sunlight, giving off an ethereal glow. Hunter and Spyro exchanged a quick glance, sensing that there was more to Silver than met the eye. The headmaster motioned for them to follow.
As they entered the grand entrance of Jade Mountain Academy, Hunter couldn't help but marvel at the breathtaking architecture. The corridors were adorned with murals depicting legendary dragons and scenes from Pyrrhian history. Silver led them to a magnificent hall where dragons of all tribes were gathered.
"This is the Great Hall," Silver explained. "Here, dragons from every tribe come together to learn, grow, and forge bonds that transcend the boundaries of their tribes."
Hunter felt a sense of unity in the air, a feeling that he was part of something much larger than himself. The other dragons greeted him with friendly nods and curious glances.
Silver continued, "Your journey at Jade Mountain Academy has just begun, and you'll uncover the secrets of Pyrrhia and beyond. Embrace the knowledge, hone your abilities, and, most importantly, cherish the friendships you'll form here. The destiny of Pyrrhia rests in the claws of the next generation."
Sorry for the lack of uploads! Been a busy few weeks. I'll upload more during winter break (at least, I'll try!). Also, I was feeling creative today, so four uploads today. Happy Holidays!
