Summary: Loraine 'fixes' her mistakes.
Notes: Yeah, I wasn't planning on leaving things with the last chapter... Let's go back to the beginning now, shall we?
"If the child isn't mine…"
May 20th, 2006
Loraine Huntington Houseman stared at the two infants that she had given birth to a couple of hours before.
Nine months earlier her husband had caught her in a dalliance with a British navy officer, not that the navy man had actually known the she was married, and Lieutenant John Anderson hadn't been impressed that he had been lied to about her relationship status, which was a shame, he had been a fun ride, unlike her husband who barely understood what it meant to pleasure a woman.
Her husband had been willing to forgive her for appearances sake, but when she found out she was pregnant her husband wouldn't let her terminate the pregnancy on the off chance the baby could be his.
Her husband, Edward, had sent her back to her parents until the baby was born, telling her not to come back if the baby wasn't his.
Her angry father, Richard Huntington, had agreed to keep her until the baby was born, after which she was to go back to her husband, the man he chose for her, or consider herself disinherited.
Which meant she would be out in the streets with nothing to her name if the baby wasn't Edward's.
Which wouldn't have been an even been an issue, except for the fact that the baby's were most definitely Anderson's - Edward hadn't slept with her for the better part of a month after she had been caught, and by then she already knew that her monthly cycle was late…
But it seemed fate had thrown her a bone, the baby's were small, and the girl didn't look anything like her sperm donor, unlike the boy, but that didn't matter she only needed one.
She could sell the girl off as Edward's, all she needed was a fake DNA test and say that she was premature, and Ed would none the wiser…
It would buy her time to give Ed a true heir to secure her position and keep her father happy.
"I need a fake DNA test to show my husband that the girl is his," she snapped at the man that worked for her father as a fixer of sorts. "Her name is to be Lucille Eliza, after his beloved Grandmother, that should be enough to keep him and his family happy."
"Yes Madam," the man replied. "What about your son?"
"What about him?" She snapped back. "Get rid of him… I don't care how you do it, drop him into a well, dump him the woods… if you're worried about your morals leave him at a fire station, but he is to disappear, I never want to see this mistake again, understand?"
"Yes, Madam," the man acknowledged, as he reached for the sleeping baby boy.
Both baby's started to cry as soon as the boy was taken from the crib, "Send in the nanny and tell her to shut the brat up," Lorain snarled, as she walked out of the room. "I'm going to talk to Daddy." She slammed the door behind her.

Loraine never saw her first son again - not that she wanted to, or cared.
It would take a couple of years but she would have the son that would secure her place in the Houseman family, after that Lucy became even more of an inconvenience to her.
But lucky she had a sister who was barren, and absolutely adored her other little mistake, and as long as Lucy appeared at family gatherings and wasn't an embarrassment, Edward didn't care if Lucy stayed with her mother or her aunt, and Loraine took full advantage of that.
It was a great deal, when the boarding school couldn't look after her mistake, her sister did, all she had to do was make sure none of Lucy's sperm donor's traits came to the surface…
Because if her husband found out that she lied to him…
