A couple of hours later, Jason was standing out in the woods not far from the camp.
"Hey, I got your message from Vivian," said a boy with blond hair and blue eyes as he walked up with a worried expression.
"What do you want to talk about all the way out here?" he asked.
"I've been hiding something from you, Marcus," said Jason.
"What is it, dude?" asked Marcus, his worry growing more visible at hearing his friend's words.
"Promise that you won't get mad before I say anything," said Jason.
"Jason, I've never gotten mad at you, even when I should have been mad I wasn't," said Marcus.
"Not even when you broke my game three years ago and you were so upset that you just kept crying and saying you were sorry over and over till you fell asleep while I was hugging you," he said.
"Point taken," said Jason.
"And what I want to tell you is that I like you… as more than just a friend," said Jason while looking down at the ground, his face flushed bright red.
"Wait, you mean that in a romantic way?" asked a stunned Marcus.
"Yes, but if you don't feel the same way then I'm alright with just staying friends," said Jason.
"You're kidding me, right?" asked Marcus, causing Jason to flinch a little.
"I've had a crush on you for a couple of years now," he said. Which got Jason to finally look at him and the first thing he saw was the smile that Marcus was giving him along with his flushed expression.
"You have?" asked Jason.
"Of course," said Marcus. The two then fell silent before they kissed.
"Good on you, Jason," said Emma, who had been watching from the bushes just in case things had gone south with the confession.
"Parents Day should be interesting to say the least," she said before leaving.
