It was late at night and it was raining hard. I couldn't remember the last time that it had rained so hard. It was making a little hard for me to sleep. Rachel didn't seem to have that problem because she was a heavy sleeper. There was also the fact that she seemed to be having a sex dream about Caroline and was moaning in her sleep. That was something that I was not used to. I was pretty sure that she didn't have sex dreams before because she never cared about anyone enough to plan to have sex with them.

I decided to get out of bed and go have some blood by the fire. Insomnia really wasn't a problem for vampires and I also wouldn't feel the effects of lack of sleep. I didn't really need to sleep but we did because it felt normal. I also had some time to think. What were we going to do about the tomb being open? Why hadn't Anna told me about the tomb being open? Okay, we hadn't really talked that much, but that was still something that it would have been a good idea to mention. After I finished my drink, I went back to bed.

In the morning, I got dressed in a black turtleneck with a black and pink plaid skirt and black tights. Rachel was wearing a maroon cardigan over a white pleated dress. The first thing that I needed to do was call Elena.

"Hi." She answered.

"Hi." I reciprocated. "So we need to talk about last night. Last night, two vampires from the tomb broke into here and attacked us. We killed one of them. That brings me to my second point that the tomb is open and all of the vampires are free."

"What are you doing about it?" She asked.

"I don't know yet." I admitted. We hadn't really discussed a plan yet. "Can you come over and we can talk about it?"

She got there about 15 minutes later. She had to drive a little bit slower because of the rain. When she got there, Damon was boarding up the window that they had broken in. Also, Stefan wasn't looking at Elena.

"I say we go over to Pearl's house and annihilate the idiot who attacked us last night." Damon suggested. That sounded like the worst possible idea in the world.

"And what are we going to say to the rest of them? 'Oops sorry.'?" Stefan challenged. That was specifically why we couldn't do it.

"I can't believe you're working with her." Elena commented. Damon had made a deal with Pearl, but from the sound of it, he didn't really a choice.

"Well she kind of forced her deal into my face." Damon said. She had gouged out his eyes. It sounded very painful. "Besides, she's going to help me find Katherine."

I sighed. Why did he have to still want to be with Katherine when it was pretty clear that she didn't care about him?

"Of course Damon gets what he wants no matter who gets hurt in the process." Elena quipped.

"There's no need to be bitchy about it." He stated.

"I woke up to find that all of the vampires were out of the tomb. I've earned bitchy." Elena countered.

"Are you ever not gonna be mad at me for turning your mother into a vampire?" Damon inquired. I don't know if that was why she was mad.

"I'm not mad. I've accepted the fact that you're a self-serving psychopath with no redeeming qualities." She retorted. That was pretty harsh and probably also not true.

"This isn't very productive." Stefan mediated. "We'll deal with them."

At that point, Damon walked away.

"I'm sorry. He just makes me so cranky." Elena said.

"He makes everyone cranky." Rachel commented. I might have been the only one immune to his sass.

"So what are we going to do about the vampires?" Elena asked.

"We're going to handle it." Stefan replied.

"Well can we at least talk?" She requested. "I don't want to just sit around my house and do nothing."

"That's exactly what you should do while we're handling this." Stefan said before he walked away.

"This is dangerous." She told me.

"I know it is, but it's more dangerous for you since you're human." I pointed out.

"And as much as I don't like him, we have Damon the self-serving psychopath on our side." Rachel pointed out.

"Just promise me you're not going to run into that house." She requested.

"We're not going to run into that house." I promised. "I think Stefan might still need some time."

She then left to go home and I turned to Rachel.

"I'm surprised that you're not hanging out with Caroline today." I commented.

"She's going to her dad's for a little while." Rachel replied as Stefan came back downstairs. He was wearing a raincoat.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"If there is going to be a fight, I need to get my strength up." Stefan replied.

"Can you please stop ignoring Elena? You need to at least give her a chance to apologize." I said.

"I don't really want to talk about that right now." He stated. He was probably feeling a little betrayed. "I won't be gone long."

"You know I'll come with you. I need to go to the hospital to get some more for me and Brandy." Rachel suggested as she put on a coat herself.

The two of them left. Maybe she would be able to talk some sense into him or something. I would probably need to see if I could find some rainboots because I didn't want to get mud or any of my shoes. You know it was kind of weird how we hadn't really had much rain since I came here. It seemed like it rained less here than in New York. I decided to test something. I took my ring and went outside for a second to find that there was no sun out. I went into the attic and I was able to find a pair of boots and they were ugly, but it would be worth it. I then went downstairs to see Damon in the living room.

"Are Stefan and Rachel back yet?" I asked. Though it was also possible that one of them could be back and not the other since they were going to end up in different places.

"No." Damon said before he looked at his watch. "You know they've been gone a while. It's been 45 minutes since the two of them left."

"I'll call Rachel, you call Stefan." I suggested as I took out my phone. I waited for an answer, only for it to go straight to voicemail. "That's odd."

I heard that Damon got a similar result. Maybe he just didn't want to talk to Damon for kissing Elena. I decided to try to call him myself and it also went straight to voicemail.

"Maybe he decided to check on Elena." Damon suggested. I supposed Rachel could call turned off her phone so she could sneak around easier at the hospital or maybe she went to see Caroline before she left, but I had a bad feeling about this. I boot on the boats and a coat before we went to Elena's house. Damon tried to call her but she unsurprisingly didn't answer. "Get her to open the door."

I sighed and took out more texting Elena to let her know we were outside. It worked because she came down and let us inside.

"You'll answer her and not me?" Damon asked.

"Have you seen Stefan or Rachel?" I questioned.

"No, why?" She replied. Yeah, now I had a really bad feeling about this.

"They went out over an hour ago and neither has been answering their phones." Damon explained. Elena took out her own phone and called Rachel because she would probably be more likely to talk to her than Stefan.

"Straight to voicemail. Where could they be?" She asked.

"I think I know." Damon suggested. He took the two of us out to this house in the middle of the woods. I assumed that was where Anna was staying. It looked pretty ominous. Anna wouldn't kidnap Stefan and Rachel, would she? There was no way she could do that. He started to bang on the door. "Pearl, open this door now or I swear to God I will come in and rip your head off!"

"Do you really think that is going to work?" I quipped. At that point, the door opened and the guy from last night, Frederick was his name, came out.

"Pearl's not home right now." He said. At least it gave me a sense of relief that Anna wasn't behind it. "It's a beautiful day outside. Not a ray of sun in the sky."

"Where's my brother?/Where's my friend" Damon and I asked at the same time.

"Billy." Frederick called. Two vampires came and dragged them out. Stefan had his shirt off and Rachel had been stripped to her underwear. They both looked weak. I tried to run in, but I was blocked from doing so. "Oh I'm sorry. It seems you haven't been invited in. Miss Gibbons?"

At that point, a woman in her 40s came out. They had a human boarder. They were smarter than I thought. Of course, it might have been Pearl's idea.

"Yes, Frederick Honey?" She asked. She seemed to be fully under compulsion. This was going to be a challenge.

"Never let this bad man or girl in." Frederick compelled.

'I'll never let them in." Miss Gibbons murmured before she walked off.

"145 years starving in a tomb. I thought your brother should get a taste of that before I killed him. And as for her…" He said before he looked at Rachel. "I seem to be down a girlfriend."

I was angry but I also felt powerless. I supposed we could destroy the house, but that seemed dangerous and I was pretty sure that we didn't have the tools to do so. We went out to the car where Elena met us while holding an umbrella.

"What happened? Where are they?" She inquired.

"They're inside. We can't get in." I explained. We would really to come up with a solution quick.

"Why not?" She asked.

"Because the woman who owns the house is compelled not to let us in." Damon declared.

"Why are they doing this?" Elena replied.

"They want revenge." I answered.

"I can get in." She pointed out.

"It's too dangerous." Damon said. "They could kill you."

"We have to get him out." She stated.

"Elena, we know." He said as he grabbed her face, "We just don't know how to get him out."

"I have an idea." She declared.

Her idea was to talk to Alaric. According to Jenna, he was at the school doing something. Why was he at the school on Saturday again? I decided to call my contact for help.

"You want me to do this again?" Kelsey asked. "Can't you just break in?"

"I don't want to cause any damage." I said. "Kelsey, please. We need to talk to Mr. Saltzman. This is kind of a life and death situation."

"I'm not going to open the door for you. If you're doing this, I'm helping." She stated. I knew Damon would not be thrilled about that.

So Kelsey met us at the school and unlocked the door for us.

"Thank you, Ms. Rogers." Elena declared.

"We could have just broken in." Damon muttered.

He went ahead of us and he happened to find Alaric to predictable results.

"Guys, stop!" I mediated. I then looked at Alaric. "We need to talk."

I gave him a quick rundown of the situation, even bringing up Anna and the tomb because they were relevant to the situation. He seemed not to be very interested in it. Come to think of it, maybe I should try to call Anna, but we were already here.

"So you see, Stefan and Rachel are in the house and the two of us can't get in." I stated.

"I would go but they won't let me." Elena stated.

"Because her life is valuable." Damon remarked. That was kind of rude.

"We know about your ring." Elena said.

"I don't know about this ring." Kelsey pointed out. I probably should have mentioned that but I didn't think to bring it up.

"Here's the recap. He tried to kill me. I then killed him, but he is no longer dead. Am I missing anything?" Damon summarized for her.

"Yeah, the part where I try again and do kill you." Alaric responded.

"Mr. Saltzman, please this is Stefan and Rachel." Elena remarked. I wasn't sure why she thought that would help sway him.

"I'm sorry, Girls, but it's not my problem." He said as he started to walk away. It looked like I would have to call Anna. The only problem was I didn't know if she would answer.

"That's too bad because the world in charge of the crowd might be able to help you find your wife." Damon stated. What the hell was he talking about? It seemed to catch the teacher's attention.

"You're lying." Alaric replied.

"Am I?" Damon challenged. "You're too chicken to find out. Come on girls."

We started to walk away before he called after us. I could not believe that worked.

We then went to his classroom and he had a lot of weapons in there.

"This has to be illegal." Kelsey commented. It probably was, but none of us were going to rat him out. Well Damon might, but I would make sure he didn't.

"Teacher by day, vampire hunter by night." Damon remarked.

"I have you to thank for that." Alaric stated.

"What's this?" Elena asked as she picked up a dart.

"It's a tranquilizer filled with vervain." He answered. That was what I thought it was.

"You need to get us in and get out as fast as possible." Damon stated.

"That's your plan? You're just going to charge in?" Kelsey asked in disbelief. I don't Damon would be that stupid, especially after the first attempt didn't work.

"No, we're going to be cautious." I stated as I noticed Elena was still holding the dart. "What are you doing?"

"I'm going with you guys." She remarked.

"No, you're not." I responded. I cared about her too much for her to get killed.

"I can get into the house." She pointed out.

"Do you know how fast it takes to get your neck snapped?" Damon asked. He snapped his fingers. "That fast."

"You can't tell me I can't go." She declared. I could not believe she was doing this.

"Well since we're wasting precious time, you can drive the car, but you're not going in that house." Damon relented. "We love him too. We're going to save him…and Rachel too."

"We need to go now." Alaric replied.

So the plan was for Kelsey and Alaric to pretend to be a married couple that were stranded in the rain. They would ask to go inside of the house get Miss Gibbons outside while Damon and I waited outside. I knew what was going to happen and I felt bad about it, but it was the only way. Frederick did seem to buy it and let them in. We would need to get them out before the vampires tried to kill them, especially since Kelsey did not have a magic resurrection ring.

A few minutes later, they brought her to the front door.

"I need you to invite my friends in." He said. Well if he was already lying, one more wouldn't hurt I guess. Kelsey was kind of a friend though.

"Oh they're not allowed in." Miss Gibbons said.

"I need you to make an exception." Alaric said.

"I'm sorry." Kelsey replied as she brought the woman outside.

"Now Miss Gibbons, does anyone else live in this house with you?" Damon asked her. She shook her head and then Damon proceeded to snap her neck and she fell over dead.

"You were supposed to compel her." Alaric replied.

"You actually can't do that." I pointed out.

"She's human." Alaric stated.

"And I'm not. Now both of you get out of here." Damon ordered.

I went into the house, trying to find the scent of Rachel's perfume. I smelled a faint hint before I found Elena with a vervain dart. I ripped out the heart of the vampire she was trying to hurt and she looked at me.

"Are you out of your mind?" I asked.

We then went to a room and found one vampire staked to a chair, Stefan hanging from the ceiling and more importantly Rachel. She was naked and unconscious and tied to the table. I was kill Frederick.

"Elena, you shouldn't be here." Stefan muttered.

"We know." I replied as I went to untie Rachel. There was vervain on the ropes, but I didn't even care. I had to get her free. Elena managed to untie Stefan. I needed something to cover her up with. I knew I wouldn't have time to find her clothes. I found a blanket and the two of us got them outside. I needed to get her home. I couldn't imagine what Rachel was feeling because I had no idea how it to felt to be raped. We went and took them to the car. I laid Rachel down in the backseat. I would have to walk home, but I was okay with that.

"Brandy, we have a problem." Elena remarked. It turned out that they ripped the starter of the car. How would they know how to do that. Damon was not going to be happy about that either. At that point, Frederick broke through the windshield and grabbed Stefan and threw him to the ground.

I went and tackled him because I wanted to tear him apart. It was anger that I hadn't felt in a long time. However, he managed to surprise me. He pulled out a vervain dart and stabbed it into me. Before I fainted, I managed to see Stefan get up. I was pretty sure that Elena had given him some of her blood.

"Take Rachel home." I begged before I passed out.

I wasn't sure how long I was out, but I felt someone shaking me. I opened my eyes and saw that it was Anna. When did she get here? Stefan, Rachel and Elena seemed to be gone.

"Brandy? What are you doing here?" She asked me.

"What am I doing here? Your friends kidnapped Stefan and Rachel and tortured them. They raped Rachel. How could you align yourself with them?" I shouted.

"I never wanted them here. It was my mom's idea." She replied. "I knew that they would do something like this and I'm sorry. My mom didn't want this either."

I wasn't even sure why but I was pretty sure that I believed her. It might not have been smart, but I did think that she was telling the truth.

I then heard sounds coming from inside the house and saw that Pearl was there with Damon, Kelsey and Alaric. I could tell that we were going to have an awkward walk home.

"Why did you want to help us?" I asked Kelsey as we walked back to her car at the school. I was definitely glad that I had my boots on.

"Because I don't want to see you get hurt." She replied.

"It's not smart for you to risk your life for your students." I pointed out. It was actually a pretty stupid thing to do.

"You're not just my student. You're my friend." She remarked.

Before I could say anything in response to that, my phone rang. It was Elena.

"Did you get to the boarding house okay?" I asked. I knew that I needed to talk to Rachel and give her a hug. Things were coming to be very awkward.

"Yeah. There's something else that I need to talk to you about. Caroline was driving and she walked out because it was too hard to drive. She found Vicki's body because it was washed up on the riverbank. I was going to go talk to her at Matt's house now." She explained.

I thought about things. Rachel probably needed her rest more than anything and she would still be there when I got back. So after we got back to the school, I had Kelsey drive me to Matt's house, which I got the address from Elena. I knocked on the door and Matt invited me in.

Elena was there with Caroline, Jeremy and also Tyler. I decided to walk over to Caroline and give her a hug. It was too bad that I couldn't compel her to make her forget finding the body.

"Where's Rachel?" She asked.

"She couldn't come." I stated.

"Why not?" She questioned.

I hesitated. I hated that I wasn't able to tell Caroline what happened to Rachel, but she didn't know about this stuff and it probably wasn't a good idea to tell her and I was pretty sure that Elena didn't want me to tell her. I didn't even know if Rachel would want to see Caroline at the moment. Their relationship might suffer because of this, but I had to keep Caroline in the dark. It was for the best no matter how it made her feel.

"She just can't. I can't really explain it right now, but it doesn't have anything to do with you." I stated.

I headed home a little bit later. I found Rachel was in the room. She was dressed in some new clothes and she looked like she had been crying. I didn't say anything to her. I just went over and hugged her. I couldn't believe that she had gotten caught up in my family's drama. Even though I was glad that she was alive, I wished that I hadn't brought her back with me. I wished that she had stayed in New York. I kind of wished that I had stayed in New York.

"Rachel, I'm sorry." I said.

So this chapter still had the thing that happened in the original version. We got a sweet moment between Brandy and Kelsey and Caroline and Rachel may be heading for some relationship trouble. The good news is everyone's okay. Please don't forget to review.
