Chapter 82 – The Good News

Rainbow Dash seemed happy to just rest and heal up as the Egas, though in his miniature form, floated around her. They walked and talked as they recounted tale after tale of their adventures. "Hey, have you seen Krisskkil?" she suddenly asked after the Egas had recounted a particular story concerning Sunik and one of the other Egas'.

"I am sorry." he said somberly, "Though I am powerful, death is still beyond my power to change."

"Wait, what do you mean?" she asked, "Is he…?"

"I am afraid so." Egas-Bacrus said.

"Oh no." Rainbow said as her ears flattened and her mood saddened, "That's going to break Syls' heart."

"Beg pardon?" the little serpent dragon asked.

"I could kinda tell, she really liked Krisskkil." she said.

"I see." he said, "I am truly sorry."

"It's not your fault." Rainbow said, "It's the fault of that CHEATING Sunik lady!"

"Still, it was my spear she used." he said.

"Is that what hit us?" she asked, "Wait, how did she get her claws on something like that? It was supposed to be in the custody of the Council!"

"That, you must discover for yourself." he told her, "I am sworn not to interfere, it was by pure chance that you landed on my back."

"And you JUST happened to move just right so that I landed there, right?" she said, both not believing him and glad for the rescue.

"So, it would seem." was all he said, "But I can tell you that the life of another now rests on the choices you make next.

"Who?" she asked.

"I believe you call her, Lady Kiane." he said.

"Huh?" she asked, "Wait, did the Sunik Lady kidnap her?"

The Egas stayed silent and looked up, "She is being held in the garage of your assailant, do be careful." Egas-Bacrus then placed his front claws together and swirled them around as if forming a bubble. The area between his claws started to glow and then shine as if it were covered in glass, "Take this." he said and handed it to Rainbow Dash, who gently took it in her wing, "Inspiration from a few of your stories, let only those you find worthy know of its existence. They will be the first."

"The first of what?" she asked.

Just then, the Egas grew to full size, letting Rainbow finally get a glimpse of the gate on its back, with it being fully healed, she assumed it was time for her to go, "I will always remember our conversations, good luck my friend." The light from its body expanded, engulfing her and forcing her to shield her eyes, only to appear once again in a dense fog.

She looked around, confusion setting in, until the fog lifted and she heard a familiar voice from around the corner, "R.D.?" Applejack called out, "Where are you?"

"I'm right here!" she called out, and turned the corner, seeing the orange earth pony as she walked towards her voice, "Applejack!"

"RAINBOW?!" the earth pony called out excitedly. Applejack started running, Rainbow flaring her wings and flying out to meet her, putting the orb into her hooves. The two exchanged excitement through giggles and hugs, "Oh, Ah thought we'd never find ya, after hearing about Krisskkil and all."

"Yeah, I guess I got a lot of apologizing to do. But first, we have to get that Sunik girl disqualified." the pegasus said and followed her friend as the cowpony lead her out of the chasm.

"You ain't got nothin' to apologize fer." Applejack said sternly and turned her head up, "Ah found her! She's OK!"

"Good, I'll come down!" Twilight called back.

"How do ya plan on gettn' her disqualified?" Applejack asked.

"We can't do it the normal way." Rainbow admitted, "She's got Lady Kiane trapped in her garage, and probably under heavy guard."

"Wha…how do you know this?" Applejack asked as Twilight finally touched down.

"The Egas told me." she admitted.

"YOU MET THE EGAS?" Twilight asked, "What was it like? And what is that?"

"We need to focus." Applejack said, "Ye're sure that Lady Kiane is there?"

"That's what the Egas told me." Rainbow repeated.

"I'm so jealous!" Twilight groaned.

"Focus!" the orange earth pony scolded, "We gotta git topside before we figure any of this out."

Twilight closed her eyes, focusing, and then, in a flash of magic, teleported all three of them to the surface. "RAINBOW DASH!" Blade and Fluttershy nearly shouted. Blade then turned and shouted, "THEY FOUND HER!" Rarity and Pinkie Pie soon came running around the corner.

"Dahling!" Rarity shouted, "You had us all worried."

"And look, look! There's not a scratch on her!" Pinkie said with both surprise and gratitude right before she wrapped her pegasus friend in a tight hug, "She's OK!"

"Thanks, Pinkie." Rainbow grunted through the embrace and quickly found others swarming around them. Without making it too obvious, she tucked the orb under her wing, trying to not let the light shine through.

"Did you find her?" one of the Treeopon asked.

"We found her." Pinkie said excitedly, "RAINBOW DASH IS BACK!"

"Heh!" the blue pegasus chuckled.

"Great!" the inspector said, "You hurt?"

"Nah!" Rainbow admitted, "I'm fine, and boy do I have a story to tell." She then turned back to her friends, "But that'll have to wait, we've got a race to win, especially today."

"What do you mean?" Rarity asked.

"We can't." Twilight admitted, "We don't have a racer, Blade and Writch didn't expect to have to build a third Rainbow Trail from scratch."

"And the B336 is in literal pieces!" Pinkie added in.

"And that!" Twilight continued, "It was in the mark2 when it got ripped apart!"

"Then we're going to have to work overtime." Rainbow said, "Mirikka has to be stopped and Lady Kiane needs to be rescued for that to happen."

"What do you mean?" the inspector asked.

"Trust me." the blue pegasus said, "Don't get involved until we tell you. I think I have a plan, but I'm going to need a new racer for it to work."

"What's the plan?" Twilight asked.

"Let's get to the garage first, "Writch, Twiggs, and Pilit are going to want to hear this as well."

"Ok." Twilight said and turned to the inspector, "We'll meet you back at our garage." she said, and gathered with her friends in the transport shuttle.

Once it lifted off, the guard from earlier breathed a sigh of relief, "It's your own fault you know." the inspector said to him.

"I get it but that doesn't make him {snort} any less scary." he said and turned his head back to the disappearing ship.

"Well, maybe this will get you to take your anger therapy sessions a bit more seriously." she said and began to move away, "Also, you owe me an ice-cream cone, I so called it." with this, she didn't even look at him, she just lifted her fist into the air in victory.
