. . . . .
"Stop it!"
Suzie jumped. Her bottom lip quivered. Jenrya rushed from the kitchen of their apartment.
"What is wrong with all of you?!" Albedo glared at Terriermon and Lopmon who looked back at him with wide eyes.
"Albedo?" Jenrya tilted his head.
He looked at Jenrya who stood in the doorway with a mug of tea in shaky hands. "What is with that dumb look you all keep giving me!? Did the apocalypse come without my knowledge!?" He clenched his fists as his heart raced. He restrained himself from punching a wall.
"You don't-"
"No, I don't! Why the hell would anyone like being looked at that way!?"
Jenrya frowned.
"I wake up, and someone's staring at me!" He gestured to MarineAngemon who sat on his shoulder. "If I wait long enough your digimon starts thinking I'm a lamp post and suddenly there are hearts floating around everywhere! I can't even use the facilities in peace!"
Kenta shrunk in his seat on the couch next to Suzie. The pink haired girl openly cried now, tears streaming down her face. Jenrya blinked, still frowning in confusion.
"I bet if I go outside I'll find Beelzemon guarding the door like he's a bouncer." He stormed over to the apartment door and opened it.
Beelzemon quickly drew one of his guns and aimed into the apartment.
He growled loudly, "You're all nuts, not me!" He stepped back inside the apartment, "Don't you dare 'Phoo!' another heart, or so help me!"
"Phoo..." MarineAngemon pouted at him.
He almost felt bad for shouting at the small digimon. Almost.
"We're just looking out for you," Kenta said.
"What for?" He looked at Kenta.
"What?"
He looked at Jenrya. The male returned his look with one of confusion. He held the tea cup a little more loose in his hands than previously. "What do you mean, what?" He turned around a full three sixty, taking up time to look at everyone.
"You don't...?" Kenta paused for some reason Albedo couldn't think of.
Suzie looked at everyone, wiping her eyes.
Albedo huffed loudly. He stalked to the bedroom, grabbed his signature red jacket and stalked to the doorway.
"Albedo!" Jenrya called.
"I. Am. Going. Out." He glared at the silver eyed male. "When you all decide to stop whatever nonsense this is, I will return." He looked at MarineAngemon, still sitting on his shoulder for some stupid reason. "I will throw you off."
"Phoo!" The digimon blinked cutely at him.
"Don't give me that look." He scowled.
"Phoo?" The digimon pouted.
"We should let him go."
"Finally someone with sense." He looked at Terriermon. MarineAngemon floated off his shoulder and over to Kenta. He walked past Beelzemon, not even looking at the taller Digimon.
He walked down the hall and stairs as he put on his jacket. "Can't even think without them staring at me." He muttered. "That stupid pitiful look. What for?" He shook his head, "Have they forgotten who I am?" He scowled. He shoved his hands in his jacket pockets as a chill ran through him.
Schokolade waved at him as she passed by with her mother Süß. Both hummed a soft tune.
He nodded, looking at them with his standard bored expression. He continued walking, hands in his pockets. He clenched his fists as he shook his head. 'They still can't be worried about my "fainting" spells.' He rolled his eyes at the thought. Nothing attacked Terriermon lately, and he certainly wasn't fainting from a lack of sleep. With the apartment's current inhabitants watching him like a hawk, the only thing he could do to get them to stop staring was sleep. At least pretend to sleep at any rate, which usually led to sleeping when MarineAngemon somehow found his way into the room.
He looked at the apartment complex exit and entrance. He furrowed his eyebrows and frowned. For some reason his hands felt quite clammy and sticky. A light feeling of nausea accompanied his being. He watched people outside the apartment partake in their mundane lives.
Two males wearing sharply tailored suits passed by. He took a step back as he focused on their attire. His heart raced. He debated on going outside with the suited men or facing the judging eyes of Jenrya's family and friends.
'Negative identity.' Juggernaut spoke loudly in his head.
He jumped and stumbled on his feet. He bumped into someone. He swore the lights flickered, but he wasn't very concerned about that as he sharply turned around. He threw his hand back as if to punch what was behind him.
"What the hell was that for!?"
He heard Beelzemon shout. A dull light, a color between pink and blue violet, shined in his eyes. Something shattered like glass.
Beelzemon snarled and growled as he waved his hands and arms around.
Albedo looked at him with a blank expression. A numb feeling settled within him. He lowered his head. He looked at the fading shards on the floor, 'Did I do that?' He blinked. Beelzemon said something he didn't care to make out. He looked at his hand, 'Juggernaut?'
'Beezlemon. Digital Monster. A Class, Mega Level. Designation: Ally. Do not attack allies.' Jenrya's bland voice replied.
He looked up at the leather clad digimon. He would never say so aloud, but that scowl was something to take very seriously. "You shouldn't sneak up on people, let alone me."
"I ain't sneak up on you," Beelzemon snarled, growling deep in his throat. "One minute you're staring at the door, the next you're back tracking like Incurseans spotted you."
Albedo snorted. He turned around. He looked at the apartment entrance, now a few feet away. He exhaled heavily. He looked off to the side, eyes downcast. "You shouldn't trail behind people then."
"Go on and fold y'arms, Mr. Pouty."
"I'm not pouting!" He folded his arms instinctively.
The digimon snorted.
Albedo huffed. "What do you want?"
"You left your cell phone and that computer thing-a-yours."
"Hm." He turned around.
Beelzemon held the two items in his hands.
"Thank you." He took the items and placed them in his jacket pocket.
Beelzemon rubbed at his forearms.
He looked off to the side, "Did I hurt you?"
"Nah." He looked at the doorway, "Just caught me off guard." He laughed a curt laugh. "Didn't know ya could do that."
"I can't." He turned around with such speed he found himself surprised he didn't fall flat on his face.
He snorted a growl filled, nasally snort, "If you say so."
He walked forward. He resumed looking out the window near the entrance. He stood by the doorway as though there were some kind of barrier he couldn't find a way around.
He caught Beelzemon walk out the doors out the corner of his eye. He quickly followed the digimon for reasons he couldn't figure out. For another moment, he debated turning around and going back inside the apartment. He gripped his D-Terminal tightly, ignoring his racing heart.
The digimon took leisurely steps, tail swinging this way about. His steps were loud and heavy, and more than one person startled at his presence. Albedo didn't think he was too bothered about it, for the digimon kept strolling along without a care.
Albedo walked quickly with tiny steps, trailing behind Beelzemon. He zipped up his jacket. He stopped a bit behind Beelzemon, who stopped in front of a plain motorcycle. Too plain for a digimon dressed as Beelzemon, Albedo thought. He shook his head at the decal of a small toy gun on the bike as the digimon took out a pair of keys from one of his many pockets. He refrained from snorting.
"Coming?" Beelzemon looked at him.
Albedo looked at him with half-lidded eyes.
"Don't laugh at my bike."
"I didn't laugh." He hoped his eye wasn't twitching.
"Yea, yea." He turned around, careful of his tail. "I ain't allowed to take Behemoth 'round the human world."
"Behemoth?" Albedo stood next to the taller digimon.
"My real bike." He grinned a wild, dangerous grin. "She's a killer."
Something about that look made him wish Kazu was around to say something incredibly stupid. He supposed Kenta would do, but that would mean dealing with that odd annoying look. "A killer, hm?"
"I'm serious." The digimon glared at him. "The second I brought her here for anything but business, some dumbass would think ridin' her was a good idea. Only two beings rode her besides me."
Albedo raised an eyebrow as he examined Beelzemon's apparently not-a-murder weapon bike.
"Both tried to kill everyone around them when they did."
"What kind of bike do you have?" Albedo spoke in a disbelieving voice.
"She's named Behemoth." Beelzemon grabbed a helmet hanging on a bike handle and handed it to him, "So? Coming?"
He took the helmet and put it on. He held up his D-terminal and phone. "I'm sure at the speed you drive, I will quickly lose them."
The digimon snorted as he moved to sit on the bike. He took the items and placed them in a pouch around his waist, "Where to?"
Albedo shrugged. He sat behind the digimon and wrapped his arms around his waist. The digimon's leather outfit felt cool to the touch and stuck to his hands a bit. He didn't pay attention to where the digimon drove. He did note that Beelzemon had wrapped his tail around them both. An act done with ease due to his tail's length.
He closed his eyes as he leaned his head on the digimon's back. He couldn't help but feel as though he were the butt of someone's joke. 'Where are Fridge, Swamps and Hugh? Why wouldn't I remember? I'm certain I would remember such information.'
The thought came to ask Jenrya or the others, but something about that made him feel as though a heavy weight settled in his stomach. Even thinking of asking Beelzemon made his throat dry and scratchy.
The more he thought about it, the less he wanted to, yet he couldn't figure out why. He looked at the cars driving past them. Occasionally he caught some child with their hands pressed to the window as they passed by. 'Maybe later.' He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
