. . . . .
'Digimon detected.'
Albedo stopped short, still transformed as Fasttrack. He lost track of how many times he had to revert to his original cage and transform back to his Citrakayah form. He took a quick look around as Juggernaut warned him transformation time was almost up. He walked slowly as he returned to his human form. His hands gripped the handle of his crossbody bag tightly. He took deep quick breaths as he walked.
'Where? Which one?' He kept walking forward, ignoring the people around him, keeping his steps slow. He didn't have any more energy to run as it was. He heard Rika talking to Ryo's father from this world for a little while, but had muted the sound. It wasn't something he was supposed to hear. Now he heard Davis singing softly yet off key to some japanese pop song on the radio. From what he heard Ken, Jenrya and their respective digimon were with them. Tai and Matt were in another vehicle.
If he had kept track correctly, which he was sure he had, Cody, T.K., Kari and Yolei had stayed behind, as Paradox had explained some of the workings of the Level 5 device. It wasn't fully operational on this world, and was drawing some power from Kari and her Digivice to run at maximum performance. Kari hadn't seemed too surprised at that. Tai and T.K. were far from pleased. Albedo could relate. If Eon decided to attack them, there was a high probability he'd realize that killing Kari would make the shielding almost ineffective. From what he knew, Eon would do so, without remorse, or even maniacal laughter. Just something that needed to be done for him to achieve his goal, and so, he'd do it.
"This isn't..." Ken protested again. Albedo wasn't sure why it was, but it seemed that Ken both wanted to and didn't want to see Ryo. For the moment, he couldn't fathom why one wouldn't want to see Ryo. Especially after not seeing the male for so long.
'Biyomon.' Juggernaut finally clarified as he turned a corner. The program directed Albedo to the left.
Albedo took cautious steps. It wouldn't do to be ambushed. No one seemed to be panicking at the moment, which was a good sign.
'Digivolution detected.'
Albedo stopped and looked around. Where. He looked up. "Oh." He closed his eyes and nodded. He looked down at his D-Terminal, "Are you detecting this?" He flipped through screens on the device.
"Albedo?" Jenrya questioned.
"I'm alright." He spoke just loud enough for Jenrya to hear him. He followed the rudimentary map on his D-Terminal with a bit more care than he had been previously. He wove his way through small groups of people going on about their daily lives.
'Digimon detected. Garudamon.'
He narrowed his eyes. What made Biyomon digivolve? And was it Sora's Biyomon that did so? 'How soon can I transform?'
'Transformation at 24 percent recharge. 100 percent recharge in 3 minutes 48 seconds.'
He walked a bit faster towards his destination, determined, waiting to regain his breath. He ignored his burning legs and pushed himself forward.
'Ben Tennyson detected.'
"Inopportune," He growled out. "They move so quickly."
"Who?" Davis asked, "I don't think I'm ever going to get used to that."
'Danger imminent.'
"Oh, I'm starting to hate this one." Albedo growled out as a Mint Green Ectonurite (Ghostfreak) launched Garudamon towards him, the surrounding civilians and the building behind them. Civilians scrambled to move screaming. Albedo raised his arms and concentrated. He would not be able to tell you how he managed to create the bluish barrier he had that Garudamon slammed into, preventing the digimon from crashing into the building, but he was pleased he did so. Bluish pink shards rained down on him and the surrounding area, dissipating into wisps of energy.
'50 percent energy remaining.' Juggernaut warned him.
Albedo mentally growled, annoyed. That would not have utilized so much of that Anodite's energy. Why was it so greedy with him!?
"I'm almost getting tired of seeing you fight us." The Ectonurite spoke to him, voice every bit as creepy and then-some as Ectonurite's voices tended to be.
"You could always go away." Albedo replied calmly. He circled around Garudamon carefully, as the digimon moved back to its feet. He did his best to ignore the screaming and all-around chaos surrounding him. "Don't let it possess you. It does so by letting its main body touch you. Limbs are alright." He advised the Ultimate digimon.
"I said almost!" The alien shouted back.
"Understood." Garudamon launched herself in the air with little difficulty.
Albedo jumped to the side to dodge the Ectonurite's tentacles. Said tentacles crashed into the building behind Albedo as though done on purpose.
"Things like that, make it worth it."
Albedo narrowed his eyes. The Tennyson he knew was dangerous because there was no rhyme or reason who would accidentally get dragged into any fights involving him, despite his half assed efforts to minimize damage. This one managed to be even worse. He didn't care who he hurt.
"Don't look at me like that." This evil Ben rolled his eyes, "If you really were concerned, you would have let me hit you."
"Of course." Albedo deadpanned.
'Biosovortian (Lodestar) detected.'
"They're taking full advantage of the crowd," he scowled as a car flew through the air towards Garudamon. She attacked the vehicle, and it fell to the ground in a heap of burning metal. Another car launched towards her shortly after, sending her on the retreat and defense.
"Albedo?" Jenrya questioned, "We're almost to your location."
He dodged the Ectonurite's tentacles once more. He threw two balls of mana towards the alien, then took off running away from the groups of panicking people. He noted Juggernaut telling him his transformations were recharged, but decided to remain in his human form. Who better to fight an Ectonurite, after all.
He circled around a building, and turned around. The Ectonurite had turned around, and instead focused its attention on Garudamon alongside the Biosovortian.
Garudamon started screaming as it struggled at the tentacles wrapped around her. Various metal objects pelted her body, leaving large bits of data floating from her frame. Albedo ran back towards her.
"Sora!" The digimon shouted, "Get Sora!" It looked down at him.
Sora? Albedo looked around. Where the hell was Sora? He watched her look at some point in the distance. He took off running, ignoring Garudamon's pained screams.
"Dude...?" Albedo heard Davis questioned, "I don't like what I'm hearing..."
"Albedo..." Jenrya sounded quite concerned.
He continued looking around as he ran. Then he caught sight of the blip of orangy brown, falling towards the ground and he heard Garudamon shout again. He transformed into Negative Big Chill and launched himself into flight as fast as he could.
'Gimlinopithecus (Shocksquatch) detected.'
He caught the blip of orangy brown, he soon recognized to be a person. He took note of her jeans, the light weight shirt with just the slightest bit of frill, and a pair of knee high boots. Maroon eyes ever so slowly peaked open. Then they widened, and Sora screamed loudly in his metaphorical ears at the same time Juggernaut alerted him.
"Look out!"
'Loboan (Blitzwolfer) detected.'
A grayish purple wolf landed on his back, and clawed and bit into him. He nearly dropped Sora as he tried to maintain his flight.
'15 seconds remaining.' Juggernaut warned him.
Flashes of lightning carelessly streaked past him. He did his best to block said electricity from Sora with his wings. 'Don't let me drop her.' He felt flimsy, as though not fully there, as he mentally spoke to Juggernaut. He dropped another few feet, below him, people shouted and screamed. They somehow seemed even louder than before. Police sirens wailed as squad cars zoomed down the streets.
He launched himself back with his ice breath. The Loboan partially howled, partially growled as Albedo slammed him back into the nearby building the Gimlinopithecus had thrown Sora from. The Loboan fell down behind them, claws scratching down the side of the building. He dropped down a few more feet, tumbling through the air with a scream as a particularly painful lightning strike hit him from behind. Sora screamed, as something pulled him back, and she launched from his arms.
"I hate Gimlinopithecus'," he hissed as his transformation timed out. Garudamon had gone silent some time ago, and he couldn't see where the Digimon had gone.
"Amethyst Wind!"
A flurry of cherry blossom's surrounded Albedo as a gust of wind pushed him back up into the air. A blur of yellow and purple passed by, grabbing Sora. Albedo instinctively reached his hand out. Sakuyamon grabbed his hand. She skillfully skidded down the side of the building behind Albedo for a few seconds, heels be damned. She dodged the alternate Shocksquatch's lightning strikes with ease, and the alternate Blitzwolfer who lunged at her, fully intending on taking out a large chunk of her side. She landed on the ground, still holding Albedo and Sora, both humans hugged tightly under an arm each.
"You alright, Gogglehead?" She asked as she slid to a stop off to the side of some random building.
"I'll live," He ignored the pain in his upper back and side as well as the slight tremor left from Shocksquatch's last attack on him.
"And you, fair maiden?"
Sora giggled, a worried smile on her face. "I'm fine, thank you."
Albedo rolled his eyes.
"Good." Sakuyamon set them both on the floor.
Albedo stumbled on his feet, but managed to remain standing. Sakuyamon gave him a knowing look. He glared right back at her.
"Whatever, you're so stubborn." she murmured, speeding off ahead.
"Sora!" Davis and Ken shouted, voices muffled.
Sora looked around, eventually becoming confused.
Albedo tapped his bag. A swirl of pinkish energy surrounded him, settling around his body. He held his hands up and concentrated. "Communicator is in my bag. You're on speaker," he explained.
"Oh, that's pretty cool." Sora smiled, "And thank you, for saving me."
He nodded in response. Juggernaut informed him his energy levels were back at 98 percent.
"I'm alright you guys." Sora shook her head, and turned around. "I can't believe they threw me off the roof!" She shouted, clenching her fists. "They're gonna get it!" She raised a hand, holding her Digivice. "Biyomon!" She screamed. A beam of light shot from said device.
'Digivolution detected.'
"Don't mess with Sora." Davis shouted in a cheer. "Hell, don't mess with any of us!"
"Stop shouting that." Albedo scolded, "They'll realize such all the sooner and switch to creating civilian casualties."
'Unknown energy detected. Analyzing.'
Albedo's eyes widened. Juggernaut didn't recognize it, but he did. "Meet up with Sakuyamon."
Sora looked at him confused.
"She'll assist you better than I."
"Did you just compliment me?" Sakuyamon questioned.
He took off in a sharp sprint. Juggernaut provided rudimentary directions.
"Wait!" Sora yelled after him.
"Stay with Sakuyamon!" He shouted behind him. He stumbled as he turned a street corner. He sped past crowds of people.
'Analysis complete. Eon detected.'
