Chapter 22

Everleigh met up with Thor taking a soft breath after being shown her room and changed her clothes into an Asgardian dress.

Thor wrapped his arm around her shoulder as he led him down the halls.

"When you came for me and Jane, you knew we were in trouble." Everleigh said softly as she walked trying her best not to stumble.

"Well Heimdall had lost sight of you, you were no longer on Earth."

"Well, how's that possible?"

"I believe you were in between worlds. The Nine Realms travel within Yggdrasil, orbiting Midgard in much the way your planet orbits the sun. Every five thousand years the worlds align perfectly, we call this the this time the borders between worlds become blurred. It's possible you found one of these points. We are lucky that it remained open. Once the worlds pass out of alignment, the connection is lost."

"What's gonna happen to me?"

"I'll find a way to save you, Everleigh."

"Your father said there was…"

"My father doesn't know everything."

"Don't let him hear you say that." Frigga said, looking at her eldest son.

"Everleigh Vincin, please meet Frigga, the Queen of Asgard, my mother."

Everleigh slowly moved back from Thor to make sure that Frigga didn't think that they were somehow involved. "Hello." She said softly.

Suddenly they heard the prison alarm going off.

"The prisons." Frigga said, looking up with her eyes slightly wide.

"Loki." Thor said, moving away from them.

"Go, I will look after her."

Thor took off with his hammer towards the prison.

Everleigh pursed her lips together. "I don't think Loki would try to break out." She admitted softly.

Frigga looked over at Everleigh as she led her through the halls to the main room. "I know you went down and visited Loki."

Everleigh's cheeks flushed. "I'm sorry. I just knew I needed to tell him the truth."

"What truth?"

"He was under mind control." She said softly as she walked with Frigga. "He didn't do this on his own accord."

Frigga nodded her head slightly. "I had a feeling deep down that it wasn't Loki that did it."

Everleigh nodded her head softly, thankful that Frigga took what she had said to heart. It was good to know that one of the parents believed that Loki was innocent.

"Send a squadron to the weapons vault, defend it at all costs. Seal the dungeon." Odin said t o his guards.

"Odin." Frigga said, coming up to him.

"Frigga." He looked at his guards. "Go!" He looked at Frigga and Everleigh. "It's a skirmish, nothing to fear."

"You've never been a very good liar." Frigga said, looking at Odin.

Everleigh noticed Sif as she walked by them.

"Take her to your chambers, I'll come for you when it's safe." Odin said to his wife.

"You take care."

"Despite all I have survived, my queen still worries over me."

"It's only because I worry over you that you have survived."

Odin leaves the room.

Frigga led Everleigh away, she took a sword from one of the guards. "Listen to me now, I need you to do everything I ask and no questions."

Everleigh swallowed the lump in her throat. "But… I can help." She said softly.

"Listen to what I say." Frigga said, looking at the young woman.

"Yes, ma'am." She said softly knowing that Frigga wouldn't allow her to do anything dangerous.

Frigga turned sharply seeing Malekith coming into the room.

Everleigh slunk down a little, her breath coming out in short pants.

"Stand down, creature. You may still survive this."

"I have survived worse, woman." Malekith said, looking at her with narrowed eyes.

"Who are you?"

"I am Malekith, and I would have what it is mine." He walked closer to Frigga.

She struck him in the face with her sword, he took out his blade and started fighting with Frigga. She puts up a good fight but Algrim comes to Malekith's aid and subdues her.

Malekith walked towards Everleigh. "You have taken something, child. Give it back." He stood in front of Everleigh and he went to grab her and she disappeared when he realized that she was just an illusion. "Witch! Where is the Aether?"

"I'll never tell."

Everleigh held her breath as she remained invisible to Malekith. She could only hope that Frigga wouldn't do something to get herself killed. Her hand slowly went to her mouth to keep her breathing very calm.

"I believe you."

Suddenly Algrim stabbed Frigga in the back, just as Thor rushed in and shot a bolt of lightning at Malekith's face, severely scarring it.

He and Algrim escaped and jumped onto their ship before Thor could catch them.

Everleigh became visible as Odin arrived to find his wife dead. He rushed over to her and held his body in his arms.

Everleigh and Thor watched from behind.

Thor looked over at Everleigh and saw her hands shaking sniffling softly. "Lady Everleigh, this was not your fault."

Everleigh looked up at him. "She ordered me to do nothing." She said softly.

Thor swallowed the lump in his throat.

A funeral was held for Frigga where all of the Asgardians mourned her as her body was pushed out to the sea on a boat, and the boat burned by a flaming arrow.

Everleigh took a shaky breath as she rushed away knowing that she couldn't stay there and watched everyone mourn the death of the woman that saved her. Her heart pounded in her chest as she shakily went back to her room. She quickly opened the door with shaky hands. She closed the door once she had gotten in and she let out a strangled sob. How would she be able to face Thor, Odin, or even Loki. She had gotten Frigga killed which was rather heartbreaking.

Everleigh shakily walked to her bed before slumping down into it. Her head fell into her hands and she sobbed softly. She couldn't even remember her own mother, she didn't have the bond that Thor and Loki had with their mother. She began to think of how Thor and Loki would treat her differently. Perhaps she was better off dead? She shakily grabbed some paper sniffling softly. She knew that she would have to write to all of her friends and apologize for what happened if the Aether killed her.

This is the end of Chapter 22. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I promise you that there will be more Loki and Everleigh soon enough. I know I kind of made Everleigh a little bit of a cry baby and that is for a good reason. Please leave a review and let me know what you think of it. I should be updating the following Monday unless something comes up. Until next time.
