Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 24 of God of Lies and Mischief and the Woman of Many Faces. Thank you to all of those who have kept up with this story and have left reviews of my story. It really does mean a lot to me that you guys are enjoying it. I do promise you when Avengers End Game pops up in this story there will be a side story to this story dealing with the Loki series. Which honestly I am truly excited about. Hopefully it won't take too long to get there. It'll probably be up some time next year in 2022. Fingers crossed of course. Enough of my ramblings. Without further ado Chapter 24. Enjoy!

Chapter 24

Everleigh sat down alone in her room taking a soft breath. Her arms wrapped around herself sleepily. She was trying her best to stay conscious during her time here in Asgard due to the fact that her magic was fighting with the entity inside of her which was making her rather drowsy. She didn't even acknowledge that the guard was there to give her food. "I'm not hungry." She hadn't even noticed that Sif had come in and knocked out the guard.

"Good, let's go." Sif said with a nod of her head.

Everleigh got up to her feet shakily and slowly began to walk with Sif out of the room. She worried her lower lip between her teeth as she walked. Her hands clenching and unclenching at her sides in nervousness. She followed her right to where Loki and Thor were standing together.

Loki looked at her with a worried gaze. She looked terrible, pale, purple flashes coming from under her skin showing her veins. She didn't look like she had when he had first met her when he was on Earth.

Everleigh looked over at Thor with a tired gaze. "Exactly how are we going to get out of here?" She questioned softly as she wrapped her arms around herself, biting her lower lip softly.

Suddenly they heard guards approaching quickly.

"There they are! Take them. On my command." The guard ordered the rest of his team.

Sif looked at the group of guards headed their way. Sif then looked over to Thor. "I'll hold them off. Take her."

"Thank you." Thor quickly led Everleigh towards the place he was thinking that would be safe for them.

Loki was about to follow them when Sif drew her sword and placed it under his throat.

"Betray him and I'll kill you."

Loki chuckled. "It's good to see you too, Sif." Loki said leaving to follow Thor and Everleigh.

Everleigh tried her best to stay up on her feet since she could feel woozy. She kind of wished that the Aether would just leave her body at some point.

Thor, Loki, and Everleigh met up with Volstagg where the ship had crashed into the palace.

Evereleigh panted softly as sweat slowly slid down her face.

"I will give you as much time as I can."

Thor and Volstagg did a forearm handshake.

"Thank you, my friend."

They walked towards the crashed ship, Everleigh nodded her head in thanks for everything that he had done.

Everleigh gripped the entrance as she got into the ship. She gripped it tightly when she felt her legs shake. She took a shaky breath knowing that this wasn't going to be easy for her to walk. She felt as if her body was on fire now. She worried her lower lip as Loki came up behind her. Her eyes slightly widened as Loki wrapped his arm around her leading her inside of the ship.

Thor looked at the controls and started to press buttons looking rather unsure of what he was doing.

Everleigh crossed her arms as she looked at Thor looking rather confused. Her brow raised slowly as she continued to watch Thor.

"I thought you said you knew how to fly this thing." Loki said looking over at his brother letting out a soft scoff knowing that he probably had no idea of what to do.

"I said, "how hard could it be?""

Everleigh shook her head lightly as she leaned against the wall, closing her eyes a little as she took a few shallow breaths.

"Well, whatever you're doing, brother, I suggest you do it faster."

"Shut up, Loki." Thor snapped as he continued to frantically press every button to start the ship.

"You must have missed something."

"No, I didn't, I'm pressing every button on this thing."

"No, don't hit it, just press it gently."

Thor continued to hit the button. "I am pressing it gently. It's not working!"

"Will you two stop acting like children?" Everleigh snapped as she looked up.

Suddenly the ship came to life.

Thor let out a laugh in happiness.

Suddenly the ship hit the columns of the palace.

Everleigh let out a soft huff as she tried to balance herself as the ship hit the columns.

"I think you missed a column." Loki said, looking over at Thor.

"Shut up!"

Finally they were out of the palace and were able to take off through the air of Asgard.

"Look, why don't you let me take over, I'm clearly the better pilot." Loki said, moving towards the controls.

"Is that right? Well, out of the two of us, which one can actually fly?"

Everleigh groaned. "Why don't you both shut the fu-" Suddenly collapsed to the ground violet coursing around her.

Loki's eyes went wide as he heard her body collapse onto the floor. He slowly went to move over to her. "Eveleigh." He said his voice came out fairly soft.

Everliegh slowly looked up weakly at Loki. "I'm okay."

Suddenly the ship hit and broke off a part of a massive building.

Thor looked over at his brother. "Not a word."

Everleigh panted softly as she shakily got up to her feet.

Loki looked out and saw several smaller Asgardian ships following them. "Now they're following us. Now they're firing at us!"

"Yeah, thank you for the commentary, Loki! It's not at all distracting!"

The ship then hit a massive stone monument of King Bor, breaking the head off of it.

"Well done, you just decapitated your grandfather."

The smaller ships still continued to follow and fire at them as they continued to fly over Asgard to get out of dodge.

"You know this is wonderful. This is a tremendous idea. Let's steal the biggest, most obvious ship in the universe and escape in that. Flying around the city, smashing into everything in sight so everyone can see us. It's brilliant, Thor! It's truly brilliant!"

Suddenly Thor pushed Loki off of the ship, he then picked up Everleigh and jumped off the ship and landed on the smaller ship being flown by Fandral.

Fandral laughed. "I see your time in the dungeons has made you no less graceful, Loki."

Thor carefully laid Everleigh down onto the ship.

"You lied to me. I'm impressed." Loki said, looking at his brother.

"I'm glad you're pleased. Now, do as you promised. Take us to your secret pathway."

Loki smiled and took over the ship's control, at the same time the Asgardian ships spotted them and started to fire at them. "Fandral."

"Right." Fandral picked up a rope and stepped onto the edge of the ship. "For Asgard." Suddenly he jumped off the ship and used the rope to swing onto the asgardian ship following them. "Nothing personal, boys!" He knocked out the three guards on the ship and then looked over to Thor, and saluted him.

Loki began to fly the ship towards the secret passage that he knew towards the mountains.

"Loki!"

"If it were easy everyone would do it."

"Are you mad?"

"Possibly."

Thor gripped onto Everleigh to keep her from flying off of the ship.

Loki headed straight for the wall of the mountain. Suddenly they entered right through the mountain and entered through a portal to Svartalfheim. "Ta-da!"

Everleigh let out a soft scoff where she laid on the ground shaking her head fairly weakly.

Loki slowly came up to where his brother was holding Everleigh. His nose curled a little in distaste.

Everleigh slowly pushed Thor away from her and she shakily got up to her feet, swaying a little as she did so. "I'm fine." She muttered softly as she tried her bed to hold herself up.

This is the end of Chapter 24. I hope that you guys enjoyed this part of the story. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. Reviews keep me going as I write the story. I love hearing what everyone thinks of the story. I'm already thinking ahead to Thor Ragnarock and I'm trying to think of what exactly to do which will be fun for me. I'm actually excited to see what I can actually do with the story when it comes to that part. I will try my best to update next Monday. As long as I have chapters to update every Monday I'll do that. Until next time.
