Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 25 of God of Lies and Mischief and the Woman of Many Faces. Thank you to those who have left reviews and have kept up with this story. It really does mean a lot to me. We are now getting into a bumpy part of this story. I promise I'll write the Loki series soon enough. Without further ado chapter 25. Enjoy!
Chapter 25
Everleigh laid down on the ground letting it a soft whimper.
Thor carefully put a covering over her now shivering form.
Loki looked down at Everleigh concerned before letting out a sigh. "What I could do with the power that flows through those veins."
"It would consume you." Thor said, looking at his brother with an irritated look.
"She's holding up alright, for now."
"She's strong in ways you'd never even know."
Loki swallowed the lump in his throat. "It won't last for too much longer. Say goodbye."
"Not this day."
"This day, the next, a hundred years, it's nothing. It's a heartbeat. You'll never be ready. The only woman whose love you've prized will be snached away from you. She's mortal, not like your little witch friend."
"And will that satisfy you?" Thor said, narrowing his eyes looking at him.
Loki let out a soft scoff as he looked over at Thor. "Satisfaction is not in my nature."
"Surrender not in mine."
"The son of Odin."
"No, not just of Odin! You think you alone were loved of mother? You had her tricks, but I had her trust!"
"Trust. Was that her last expression? Trust? When you let her die!"
"What help were you in your cell?"
"Who put me there? Who put me there?!"
Thor then grabbed a hold of Loki with an angry look upon his face. "You know damn well! You know damn well who!" Thor raised his fist but stopped himself from punching his brother. "She wouldn't want us to fight."
"Well, she wouldn't exactly be shocked."
The two of them smiled at one another.
"I wish I could trust you." Thor said, turning his back on him.
"Trust my rage."
Everleigh looked up at the two brothers. "Finally found the ground that is common for the two of you… but Thor you need to…" A soft whimper left her lips as a flash of purple surrounded her.
Loki looked at her rather concerned. "You're more worried about this and I'm making amends than yourself."
Everleigh let out a soft chuckle. "You had someone to grow up with… of course I want to see siblings make amends with one another."
"You'll die… If you keep that inside of you."
Everleigh looked up at him sadly. "With everything that I've been through honestly I don't care if it kills me. It can't be any worse than what was done to me."
Loki pursed his lips together in concern. "And your friends?"
"They'll move on. It's to be an agent's way of life. Move on but don't forget. I rather go through this than have Jane go through it."
"You were with her."
Everleigh nodded her head. "Yes as protection."
Loki's hands tightened at his sides. What in the world was shield thinking of having her shadow Jane to be taken by the Aether. He continued to steer the ship.
Everleigh collapsed against the floor of the ship, a soft whimper left her lips before her eyes suddenly opened revealing that the Aether had taken over her body. She slowly got to her feet and looked ahead.
"Everleigh…" Thor said softly, looking at her concerned.
"Malekith."
Loki easily landed the ship and began to walk over to watch Malekith and his men in the distance.
Thor looked over at Everleigh and his brother. "Alright, are you ready?"
Everleigh nodded her head shakily.
"I am." Loki said not even looking at his brother.
They slowly got to their feet coming out of their hiding spot and Malekith spotted them.
"You know this plan of yours is going to get us killed."
"Yeah, possibly."
Loki held up his hands that were still shackled. "You still don't trust me, brother?"
"Would you?" Thor questioned as he took off Loki's cuffs.
"No, I wouldn't." Loki said, suddenly taking out a dagger and stabbed Thor and threw him down the hill.
Everleigh's eyes went wide in fear. "Thor! No!"
Malekith watched in and started to walk towards them.
Loki walked over to Thor. "You really think I cared about Frigga, about any of you?" He kicked Thor in the stomach. "All I ever wanted was you and Odin dead at my feet!"
Thor raised his hand attempting to summon his hammer, but Loki cut his hand off making Thor scream in pain.
Everleigh rushed down to where they were only to have Loki grab her. He turned and faced the dark elves. " Malekith, I am Loki of Jotunheim and I bring you a gift!" He threw Everleigh at Malekith's feet. "I ask only one thing in return, a good seat from which to watch Asgard burn."
"He is an enemy of Asgard, he was locked in a cell." His comrade said.
Malekith walked over to Thor squirming in pain on the ground. "Look at me." He used his foot to turn Thor and then he lifted Everleigh into the air and extracted the aether from her.
The aether left her body and she fell to the ground hard.
"Loki, now!"
Loki made Thor's hand that he had cut off reappear. He had never cut off his brother's hand.
Thor quickly summoned his hammer and shot lightning at it in attempt to destroy it, but he failed as Malekith's was able to absorb it.
He turned to leave.
Two dark elves began to start attacking their but he quickly took them down.
Algrim the one of his vortex weapons into the air.
Loki pushed Everleigh out of the way and he was nearly sucked up when Everleigh quickly looked up using her magic to pull him back in even though it was rather weak.
Thor suddenly attacked Algrim but he beat Thor down.
Loki grabbed a weapon that Everleigh had conjured up even though it wasn't his, it was rather nice. Loki goes over to them and impales Algrim from behind, Algrim slowly turned and suddenly pulled Loki into the blade that is sticking out from him
"No!" Everleigh yelled in shock.
Algrim took a step towards Loki.
"See you in hell, monster!"
Algrim then realized that the attached blade is his own vortex. It exploded before he could do anything destroying him.
Thor and Everleigh rushed over to Loki.
Everleigh's shaky weak blue glowing hands went over his wound.
Loki's hands went over hers.
"No. No, no, no! Oh, you fool, you didn't listen!"
"I know. I'm a fool. I'm a fool!" Loki squirm in pain, keeping his hands over Everleigh's shaking hands.
"Stay with me, okay?"
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
"Shh."
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay." This nodded his head softly as tears slid down his cheeks. "It's alright. I'll tell father what you did here today."
"I didn't do it for him." He looked at Everleigh trying to let her know that he did it for her to save her. He closed his eyes and life left him. His skin turned to the color of his true heritage, Friday giant blue.
Thor cried out in anguish. "No!"
Everleigh let out a broken sob as she slowly moved her shaking hands away. Tears slid down her cheeks. She slowly fell back into her butt looking at her hands that had Loki's crimson blood staining them.
Thor looked at her and knew right away that Everleigh somewhere deep down she didn't blame Loki for anything but perhaps saw him as a friend.

This is the end of chapter 25. I hope that you all enjoyed it. I'm trying my best with writing this movie of Thor the dark world but of course it's a bit hard when this is probably my least favorite movie. But I'm trying my best to make it work. I know with the next movie it'll be a bit of a bumpy ride with it being the second Captain America movie but I do have plans inside my mind of what will be happening in it besides the normal shield being compromised by hydra. Please leave a review of what you think. Reviews actually keep me going and I'm actually excited to write more for this series. I'm also a bit excited to get to the side of this story, but I dunno if I want to wait until I get to the Avengers end game or not. Thoughts? Until next time.
