Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 26 of God of Lies and Mischief and the Woman of Many Faces. Thank you to those who have left reviews and have kept up with this story. It really does mean a lot to me. I hope that you guys continue to love this story. I can't wait to show you guys what happens next and I have so many ideas going through my head for many of the future chapters. I know that I haven't had Loki and Everleigh together just yet but I promise you that it will come to a point that this story will kind of go off rails for just a few chapters perhaps and kind of delve into the whole thing of Loki and Everleigh getting together. Enough of my ramblings. Without further ado Chapter 26. Enjoy!

Chapter 26

Everleigh and Thor slowly walked away from Loki's fallen body. Everleigh walked shakily, her hands trembling from the fear and loss of Loki. They entered a cave as a storm approached.

"He's gonna unleash it, not just on Asgard or on a star, Malekith is gonna destroy everything." Everleigh said softly looking over at Thor, her voice coming out rather shakily.

"How? Everleigh, how?"

"I saw him on Earth. Why would he go to Earth?"

"The Convergence."

"Oh, God. None of this would have happened if I hadn't found the Aether when I went inside of that area with Jane." Everleigh said leaning back against the wall, her bloody hand touching her face leaving blood upon it when she rubbed her face softly.

"Then Malekith would have only possessed it that much sooner." Thor explained to her.

"I only found it because Jane was looking for you. It was purely an accident."

"Everleigh." He placed his hand in a friendly way.

"Now we're trapped here."

Suddenly they heard music playing and they both looked at one another.

"It's not me."

Everleigh slowly took her phone out and quickly answered it. "Hello?"

"Everleigh, where are you?" Darcy's voice rang out over the line.

"Darcy? Where are you?"

"With Jane and Erik. It's going crazy here, Everleigh."

Everleigh blinked a few times and gripped her phone a little bit. "This is amazing… How am I getting service here?"

"Everleigh, is this a bad time? We need you here. Shield will start sniffing around if you don't get back here soon."

Everleigh winced a little remembering that she was now off of Shields radar and how many people were going to be coming and looking for her?

"We need you back here now."

Everleigh slowly moved and realized that they could get out of there. She looked over at Thor and gestured with her head. "Come on."

Thor began to follow Everleigh slowly, his brows furrowed.

"I'm losing you there, are you in a tunnel?"

"We'll be there Darcy, just give us time." Everleigh said before hanging up her phone.

"Where are we going?" Thor questioned looking at her.

"You'll see." Everleigh said as they walked further into the cave.

Thor noticed discarded shoes that were thrown through from the abandoned factory. "Why are there so many shoes in here?"

They walked in further and suddenly they disappeared. They appeared outside of the factory and Everleigh led Thor to Ian's abandoned car that was still parked outside of the factory. Everleigh tried to start the car. She finally got it started. She looked at Thor. "Come on… I have a feeling and it's not a good one that we don't have much time."

"Your magic is coming back to you isn't it."

Everleigh swallowed the lump in her throat and nodded her head.

THORTHOR

Everleigh opened the door of where Jane, Darcy were staying while they were here.

Darcy shot up to her feet. "Everleigh!"

Everleigh's cheeks flushed. "Hey." She said shyly waving her hand still dressed very much in the clothes that she had gotten from Asgard.

"You can't just leave like that, the whole world is going crazy!"

Jane let out a soft chuckle as Darcy complained to Everleigh.

Thor hung up his hammer on the coat hanger near the door.

"All the stuff we saw is spreading." Darcy looked at the clothes that Everleigh was wearing. "Did you go to a party?"

Everleigh turned her head seeing Eric. "Erik. Good to see you."

"Everleigh, how wonderful!" He said getting up on his feet and going to Everleigh and hugged her.

Everleigh pulled back realizing he wasn't wearing any pants.

"You've been to Asgard."

"Where are your pants?" Everleigh said, trying her best to not look at him.

"Oh, uh...he uh...he says it helps him think." Ian said, looking at Everleigh.

"Okay. Well, I'm gonna need everything you got on this. All the work you've been doing on gravimetric anomalies, everything. See if we can pinpoint it. But first let me change."

"Okay." Erik said with a nod of his head.

"Are you well, Erik?"

Erik chuckled then his smile faded quickly. "Your brother is not coming, is he?"

Everleigh froze at the door gripping the side of the frame with her hand. Her breathing became labored.

"Loki is dead." Thor said softly.

"Oh, thank God."

Thor looked at him in confusion.

"I...I'm so sorry."

"Thank you." Erik then embraced Thor tightly in a hug.

Everleigh quickly went into her room and changed her clothes. She changed into a pair of dark jeans, high heeled boots, and a black tight shirt. She took a shaky breath and came out. "Malekith is going to fire the Aether at a spot where all the nine worlds are connected." Everleigh explained looking at them.

"Amplifying the weapon's impact. With each additional world, the power will increase exponentially. The effect would be universal." Erik said thinking.

"Yes, well the alignment is only temporary. He must be in exactly at the right place at the right time." Thor explained.

"Well, how do we know where that is?" Darcy questioned her brows furrowed.

"We follow the directions. This has happened before, thousands of years ago, and The Ancients were there to see it." Erik put a map of the British Isles on the coffee table. "All the great constructions: the Mayas, the Chinese, the Egyptians, they made use of the gravitational effects of the Convergence. And they left us a map." He began to draw on the map. "Stonehenge. Snowdon, the Great Orme. These are all coordinates taking us...here." He pointed to Greenwich on the map.

"Greenwich?" Ian questioned looking up.

"The walls between worlds will be almost non-existent. Physics is gonna go ballistic. Increase and decrease in gravity, spatial extrusions. The very fabric of reality is gonna be torn apart." Jane said as she thought.

Everleigh nodded her head.

Thor summon his hammer and it shot to his hand from where it was hanging.

"I better get my pants." Erik said leaving the room.

Everleigh gripped her hands at her sides.

Darcy looked over with a worried gaze on her face. "You look like you have been through hell."

Everleigh looked over at Darcy with reddened eyes. "You have no idea." She said softly as she headed towards the door grabbing her weapons that were hidden in the desk that was in the room.

"Are you feeling alright though. No bad effects from the thing…"

Everleigh shook her head. "No, none. My magic kept it at bay and I feel fine." She admitted softly, but what she didn't want to admit was what had happened with Loki and how she tried to save him, but couldn't even do that. She had failed herself, failed Thor and most of all failed Loki after she had told him that Frigga believed that he was innocent and how she believed he was innocent. But she couldn't get his adoptive father to see it that way and her heart ached with that news.
