Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 77 of God of Lies and Mischief and the Woman of Many Faces. Thank you to those who have left reviews of this story. It really does mean a lot to me that you guys are enjoying this story. We still have a bit of a way to go with this story and I'm not fully sure of how far I'll be going into this story just yet. I mean I could continue on this story forever as long as movies come out. But I think at some point this story will come to a close. I know I have a Loki season fic I'll be working on soon enough, but that won't be coming up for quite a while. Without further ado Chapter 77. ENJOY!

Chapter 77

Hundreds of thousands of spectators packed into the stadium seats. Dozens of starships were parked above the arena.

The grandmasters luxury suit, with a VIP box attached to the fighting area. There were many golden ladies in attendance. Loki lounged in the suite with Everleigh, taking wagers on the fight card.

Everleigh bit her lip softly as she watched the Grandmaster enter the center of the area. Her eyes widened slightly as she watched him grow to 60-feet tall.

"Wow! Look at all of you. What a show, WHAT-A-NIGHT! Who's having fun? Please, I'm your host. Big round of applause for all of our undercard competitors... who died so gruesomely. Good sports. What a show! What a night! This is what you've come for and so have I."

Everleigh winced as she heard loud applause from around the arena. It made her feel sick to her stomach to know that people enjoyed this sort of thing.

"And now, without further ado… it's main event time!"

The applause had gotten even louder.

"Making his first appearance, though he looks quite promising, got a couple of tricks up his sleeve. I'll say no more, see what you think. Ladies and gentlemen…"

There was laughing among the crowd.

Loki looked over at Everleigh seeing her gripping her knees tightly closing her eyes as if she was in agony. Loki swallowed the lump that formed in his throat as he reached over to touch her hand that was on her knees.

"I give to you...Lord of Thunder!"

Everleigh looked out seeing Thor, his head now shaved, his beard trimmed, minimalistic armor, covered in weapons. Two swords on his back, one giant mace in his hand and a spiked shield in the other hand.

"Watch out for his fingers. They make sparks."

Thor put his helmet on his head. He was more than prepared to fight whoever it was.

"Thor is always fine. He is always willing to fight and you know he never backs down from a fight."

Everleigh shook her head lightly. "Says you, you even admitted to him freely that you didn't know who his champion was." Everleigh said quietly to make sure no one would hear their conversation.

"Okay, this is it. Let's get ready to welcome this guy. Here he comes. He is a creature. What can we say about him? Well, he's unique. There's none like him. I feel a special connection with him."

Everleigh shifted some to see what was going on down below. Her brows furrowed a little bit in concern as her lips pinched together.

"He's undefeated. HE'S THE REIGNING...HE'S THE DEFENDING… Ladies and gentlemen... I give you…"

There was a loud kaboom as the Hulk exploded through the door.

Thor dropped his arms to his sides along with his jaw going slack in shock. He began to laugh loudly. "Yes!"

Loki went pale in the face. He remembered when Hulk smashed him through the floor. "I have to get off this planet." He said getting up, grabbing Everleigh on the way out trying to make his way towards the exit with her, but they were stopped by the GrandMaster.

"Hey, hey, hey! Where are you going?" He said as he forced Loki and Everleigh right down in the front row right against the glass.

Loki casually tried to hide his face in his hand hoping that Hulk wouldn't look up here and see him.

Everleigh let out a soft breath and reached across grabbing his hand softly in her own. "Hulk has a short attention span." She said softly into his ear causing Loki to shiver as her hot breath hit his ear.

"Hey! We know each other. He's a friend from work. Where have you been? Everybody thought you were dead. So much has happened since I last saw you. I lost my hammer. Like, yesterday, so that's still pretty fresh. Loki! Loki's alive. Can you believe it? He's up there." He waved toward Loki. "Loki! Look who it is!"

Loki gripped Everleigh's hand, petrified.

Everleigh looked over at Loki seeing the color draining from his face. "You'll be alright." She said softly as Loki continued to grip her hand. She tried her best to soothe him and keep him calm. She knew that the cheering for Hulk wasn't helping him all that much. She pursed her lips together as the Hulk charged at Thor insanely fast.

Thor dodged the first few attacks from Hulk, but then his shield was shattered sending him flying. Thor drew his sword and stabbed it into the ground to slow himself from ending up into the wall. He drew his other sword and faced off with Hulk.

Everleigh took a breath through her teeth as she watched. She had teamed with Hulk on countless occasions and seeing him this unhinged wasn't a good sign of things.

Loki looked over at her seeing the worried gaze on her face. His brows furrowed slightly. "Don't tell me that you care for the big green oaf." He hissed softly, not alerting anyone in the room that they were talking about something that would probably upset the Grandmaster.

Everleigh let out a soft breath and shook her head lightly. "No, I have worked with him many times, and I've never seen him this unhinged. This is worse than anything that I've ever seen." She bit her lower lip softly as Thor and Hulk fought against one another. She winced as Thor hit the wall.

"Here we go." The Grandmaster said as his smile grew bigger watching his champion finally gaining the upper hand.

Thor jumped down in time to avoid Hulk's warhammer, which hit so hard that it was lodged in the wall.

Hulk charged again at Thor.

Thor ripped the warhammer out of the wall and walloped the Hulk with it sending him crashing alongside the arena.

Hulk was sprawled out in a pile of rubble, dazed at what had happened.

"What?"

Everleigh nibbled her lower lip softly knowing that this wasn't a good sign.

Thor advanced on Hulk with swagger. He took off his helmet and began to provoke the Hulk.

Everleigh brought her hand up groaning softly. "What is it with your brother and taunting his enemies?"

Loki looked over at Everleigh and knew exactly what she meant. "He's an oaf and not the brightest on how he should act."

Everleigh let out a breath, shaking her head lightly. "Yeah this isn't going to end well at all."

Suddenly Thor was dragged by Hulk slamming him against the arena floor over and over again.

Everleigh winced as Thor hit the ground over and over again.

Loki felt his mood ease up some as he watched his brother's misfortune of the whole thing. Joy began to seep back onto his face as he watched. He let out a laugh. "Yes! That's how it feels!" He looked over at the Grandmaster who looked at Loki wondering what he meant by that. "I'm just a huge fan of the sport."

Thor was smashed one more time into the floor face first.

Hulk roared before rushing at Thor with his ax.

Thor blocked Hulk's ax and they began to fight one another with their weapons. Thor was surprising the crowd by winning. He was getting better with each exchange, using Hulk's aggression against him. Thor continually knocked or tripped the Hulk off of his feet while evading all of his best attacks. He was able to disarm the Hulk and he broke the Hulk's ax with the warhammer. He then bashed Hulk in the chest knocking him to the ground.

Everleigh bit her lip as she watched Hulk get even angrier. She averted her eyes turning more towards Loki, not being able to watch any more. She remembered seeing videos of where the Hulk went under major rampage as well as when he had been under the control of Wanda years ago now which made her heart ache to see Bruce in such a way.

Loki looked over at Everleigh seeing how pale she was becoming. "You've seen him like this before." He said softly as he felt her move closer to him burying her face into his shoulder. Loki's hand rubbed her side softly trying to soothe her like she had tried to soothe him earlier when he realized that it would be Hulk that Thor would be facing off against.

"Never in person." She muttered softly, closing her eyes even tighter. "I always saw videos of what he had done. Or always heard from others of how bad he was."

"Thunder! Thunder! Thunder!" The crowd began to chant before going silent.

The Grandmaster looked rather pissed as the match continued on.

Loki looked back down at the arena watching his brother making a fool out of the Hulk and in turn the Grandmaster. He was rather amazed at how well his brother was doing as he continued to rub Everleigh's back softly trying to keep her calm.

The grandmaster pulled out a fob and zapped Thor with the obedience disk.

Thor dropped to the ground hard, caught off guard of the whole thing.

Loki winced as he watched his brother fall to the ground. He let out a soft breath causing Everleigh to move her face from the crook of his shoulder. He knew that the match was over. "It's over darling."

Everleigh blinked a few times as she looked up at Loki. She looked down seeing that Hulk was gone and Thor was laid out upon the ground. She let out a soft breath and shook her head lightly.

This is the end of Chapter 77. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I did my best with trying to write this chapter out and I think it turned out pretty well. Please leave a review and let me know your thoughts on this chapter. Should Loki change his nickname for Everleigh or is darling alright with you guys calling her? Reviews help me keep going when it comes to writing. We are getting closer and closer to the end of Ragnarok and I'm actually kind of excited to start on the next part of this story. I'm also of course curious of what you guys think if Everleigh survives the snap or not. I have a plan for what happens to her and I can't wait to show you guys what happens when she finds out what happens during the beginning of Infinity War and what happened to Loki. I have a feeling that she's going to be very broken up about it, most likely worse than before. I hopefully will update next Monday. Until next time.
