Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 78 of God of Lies and Mischief and the Woman of Many Faces. Thank you to those who have left reviews for this story. It really does mean a lot to me that you guys are loving this story. Hopefully I will be able to continue bringing out chapters that everyone will enjoy. I still have up to 114 planned out and I'm planning out more chapters which starting with 114 it will be leading into WandaVision which will be a bit of a ride for me to write out and make it good. But once I get to a certain point in End Game there will be a Loki fic going up the same day as I posted for this story. So instead of one Loki story you'll be getting two Loki stories. I have many plans ahead and I can't wait to write for them. Without further ado Chapter 78. ENJOY!

Chapter 78

Loki, Everleigh, and Valkyrie were brought before the Grandmaster, who at least tripled the amount of bodyguards around him.

"I'm upset! I'm very upset. You know what I like about being upset? Blame. Right now, that's the mindset that I'm in. And you know who I'm blaming?" Grandmaster ranted as he looked at the three of them.

Loki blinked a few times looking at the Grandmaster having a feeling that he was going to blame him for whatever had happened. "Grandmaster, I-"

"Hey! Don't interrupt me!"

Topaz suddenly handed the Grandmaster the melt stick to him. "Here you go."

Everleigh's eyes widened as her hand locked into Loki's rather tightly. She had seen what happened with the melt stick before which isn't a good thing and she felt her stomach churn in worry and fear.

The Grandmaster looked over at Topaz, his brows furrowed wondering why his guard would give him the melt stick. "Why are you handing me the melt stick? He was interrupting. That's not a capital violation." He then refocused on what he was talking about before Loki had interrupted him. "My precious champion has come up missing and it's all because of that Lord of Thunder. It's all because of him." His eyes went to Loki. "YOUR brother. Whatever the story is. Adopted, or complicated. I'm sure there's a big history." He then turned his attention to Valkyrie. "And YOUR contender."

"My dear friend, if you were to give me twelve hours I could bring them both back to you."

"I can do it in two." Valkyrie said, looking up at the Grandmaster.

"I could do it in one."

The Grandmaster held up his hand, tired of hearing the bickering. "You know what? I woke up this morning thinking about a public execution. But for now, I'll settle for this sweet little "who's gonna get him first?" So you're on the clock."

Valkyrie turned on her heels and began to walk in a hurry.

Loki grabbed Everleigh's hand quickly following Valkyrie out of the room trying to keep up with the woman. "What have you done!?"

Valkyrie reversed her position, putting Loki up against the wall sending Everleigh to the ground. "I don't answer to you, lackey."

"It's Loki. And you will answer to the Grandmaster."

Everleigh narrowed her eyes as Loki moved to reverse the position again, but Valkyrie broke away drawing her two blades.

Loki unsheathed two long Sakaarian daggers.

They broke out into a fast paced deadly fight with knives. After a few exchanges, Valkyrie connected with a big shot that slammed Loki into the wall.

Loki scowled at the fighter. "Why would you help my brother escape with that green fool?"

"I don't help anyone."

Loki trailed off looking at the wrist marking and it dawned on him. "You're a Valkyrie. I thought the Valkyrie all died gruesome deaths?"

Valkyrie attacked Loki, getting him up against the wall with her blade against his throat. "Choose your next words wisely."

"Terribly sorry. Must be a very painful memory…" Loki, quick as a rattlesnake, grabbed Valkyrie's head and casted an illusion on her.

Everleigh let out a breath shaking her head as she got up to her feet. She looked at Loki as Valkyrie fell to her knees in front of Loki. "Did you have to cast an illusion over her? How would you feel if someone would do that to you?" She questioned crossing her arms as she looked at the dark haired prince.

Loki looked over at Everleigh. "No one would think of doing that to me. There aren't very many people like us, darling."

Everleigh let out a soft breath shaking her head. "Still it wasn't polite to do that to her."

"She was going to kill…"

Suddenly Valkyrie turned in rage, knocking him out.

Everleigh gasped in shock as Loki fell like bricks to the floor.

Valkyrie sharply turned towards Everleigh with her hands brought up in a fight.

Everleigh held her hands up letting Valkyrie know that she wasn't going to attack the other woman. "I'm unarmed and not wanting to put up a fight."

"Your husband is a worm." Valkyrie snarled as she looked at Everleigh.

Everleigh let out a breath, shaking her head lightly. "He only uses magic to protect himself. You were going to kill him and I kind of like it if you didn't kill my husband." She pointed out in hopes that Valkyrie would listen to her reasoning. A woman's reasoning.

"Your husband is a coward."

"And a good man."

"So the blond haired oaf is his brother, your family to him."

Everleigh let out a soft breath and nodded her head knowing that she needed to keep up the ruse that they had made during the last few weeks of being her on this planet. "As much as I hate to admit it, yes."

"Good then you'll help me find him."

Everleigh took a breath and then nodded her head knowing that there was no way that Valkyrie was going to let her be alone with Loki which meant that she was going to have to go with this very angry woman to find Thor and hopefully find Banner. She knew that there was too much that Banner didn't know what was going on. With him being gone he didn't know that the avengers were done for and on top of that neither did Thor. She knew Thor had no idea why she was hiding on Earth from everyone. Hiding herself under a new disguise. "Fine." She said softly. She knew that she didn't have all that much of a choice.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

This is the end of Chapter 78. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I tried my best with writing this chapter out and trying to make it as good as I could. It does take a lot for me to write scenes out and even that trying to make the chapters flow the best that I can. I have so much planned for future chapters. And I know there isn't going to be too much more of Loki in this part of the story. Which I'm kind of sad about, but I do have a plan in mind. I want your thoughts, do you think I'll bring Loki back in this story in WandaVision or even that further into the story where somehow he returns? Please leave a review and let me know your thoughts on that. Reviews help me keep going when it comes to writing. It really helps with my muse when it comes to writing. I will update next Monday with a brand new chapter. Until next time.
