Chapter 79

Valkyrie approached Thor and Bruce from down the alley with Everleigh right beside her looking like a timid little mouse.

Everleigh noticed that there was a bit of a scuffle in the middle of the alley way. Her brows furrowed together when she noticed one of the scrappers knocked Thor out of the way. Everleigh suddenly used her gift of vanishing and reappearing using her powers to bring the scraper into the air before slamming him hard into the ground.

Valkyrie blinked a few times in shock as she stood before Thor behind Everleigh.

Everleigh raised her brow seeing Thor holding Banner rather protectively.

Thor looked up at Everleigh and Valkyrie. "Hi."

Valkyrie looked at Thor. "Hi."

Thor looked over at Everleigh. "I was gonna do that."

Everleigh let out a soft hum. "Last time I checked Thor you don't have powers like I do. How were you going to fling him into the air?"

"That's good. What are you doing here?" Thor questioned the two women wondering why they had willingly went into danger.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were leaving." Valkyrie questioned with her brow raised.

"I got sidetracked."

Valkyrie looked at the man that was next to Thor. "What's with the…"

"It's my disguise."

"But I can see your face."

Thor covered his face. "Not when I do this, you can't. Your hair looks nice. I like what you did with it. Change it? Washed it maybe?"

Valkyrie rolled her eyes and grabbed him by the arm.

"What are those things on her eyes? Are those the people that she's killed? She's so beautiful and strong…" Bruce stammered.

"Bruce." Everleigh said, looking at Bruce, her brow raised. "Come on now, I'm sure that Nat won't be happy to hear things like that."

Bruce's cheeks went red. "Leigh, what are you…"

Everleigh waved her hand as they walked through the streets making sure that no one would bother them. "Bruce, that's kind of a long story. Too long of a story to be dealing with at the moment."

"Who is this guy?" Valkyrie questioned looking over at Bruce who was walking beside Everleigh.

"He's a friend."

"Who? Me? I'm Bruce."

Valkyrie led them into a Sakaarian apartment building. "I feel like I know you."

"I feel like I know you too."

They continued to walk down the hallway.

Everleigh bit her lip as they walked. She wouldn't admit it outloud, but with everything going on she wanted to curl up and get some sleep at some point. There was just too much stuff going on that she just couldn't handle for too much longer.

"Look, I've spent years in a haze trying to forget my past. Saakaar seemed like the best place to drink and forget and to die one day."

"I was thinking that you drank too much, and that probably was going to kill you." Thor pointed out as they walked.

"I don't plan to stop drinking, but I don't want to forget. I can't turn away anymore. So, if I'm gonna die, well... it may as well be driving my sword through the heart of that murderous hag."

"Good."

They stopped at a door.

"Yeah. So I'm saying that I wanna be on the team. Has it got a name?"

"Yeah, it's called the Revengers."

Everleigh's brow raised as she looked at Thor.

"Revengers?"

"Because I'm getting revenge. You're getting revenge." Thor then looked at Bruce. "Do you want revenge?"

"I'm undecided."

"Okay. What about you Leigh?"

Everleigh let out a breath. "I was to smash your sister's brains. Does that count as revenge?" She questioned looking at Thor.

Thor let out a soft chuckle knowing that Everleigh wasn't joking when she said that. He knew that she had a slight bit of an anger streak and it wasn't a good thing.

"I've got a peace offering." Valkyrie admitted.

Everleigh let out a breath knowing what the peace offering was.
