Chapter 80
Valkyrie opened the door revealing Loki was restrained sitting in the middle of the apartment with a dozen chains around him.
Loki looked rather frustrated. "Surprise."
"Thor I wouldn't…"
Thor tossed a bottle and it bounced off of Loki's head.
"OW!"
"Just had to be sure."
"Hello, Bruce."
"So, last time I saw you, you were trying to kill everybody. Where are you at these days?" Bruce was a little nervous to know that Loki was very much alive and well.
"It varies from moment to moment."
Everleigh pursed her lips together as Valkyrie turned her head to look at her.
Valkyrie's brow raised. "I suppose you want me to release your husband?"
Thor's brow raised. "Wait what?" Thor questioned in confusion.
Bruce's brown eyes went wide. He hadn't expected Everleigh to be married to Loki, but perhaps that was something that she was keeping hidden from the team.
Everleigh cleared her throat shyly. "The truth about that is Loki and I aren't married. We had to keep up the ruse to keep me protected from the Grandmaster." She bit her lower lip. "I am sure that you know Valkyrie that the grandmaster has wandering hands."
Valkyrie nodded her head knowing exactly what the blonde haired woman was saying. She grabbed something and carefully laid it on the bed. She slowly unwrapped it revealing an old Asgardian sword.
Thor's eyes went wide as Valkyrie began to sharpen it. "Is that... a Dragonfang?"
"It is."
"My God. This is the famed sword of the Valkyrie."
"Sakaar and Asgard are about as far apart as any two known systems. Our best bet is a wormhole just outside the city limits." Valkyrie said, pointing to the one that was on the outskirts of town.
"Refuel on Xandar and be back in Asgard in around 18 months."
"Nope. We're going through that one." Thor said pointing at the nightmare tornado wormhole over the ocean.
Everleigh blinked slightly concerned.
"The Devil's Anus?"
Bruce looked over his brows furrowed together. "Wait, whose anus are we going through?"
"For the record, I didn't know it was called that when I picked it."
"That looks like a collapsing neutron star inside of an Einstein-Rosen Bridge."
"We need another ship. That would tear mine to pieces." Valkyrie said, shaking her head lightly.
"She's right. We need one that can withstand the geodetic strain from the singularity."
Bruce looked at Thor with a quizzical look. "And has an offline power steering system that could also function without the on-board computer."
"And we need one with cup holders, because we're gonna die. So, drinks!" Valkyrie said nonchalantly.
"Do I know you? I feel like I know you."
"I feel like I know you, too. It's weird."
Thor looked at Bruce. "What do you say, doctor? Uncharted metagalactic travel through a volatile cosmic gateway. Talk about an adventure."
Bruce high fived Thor as Valkyrie stared at them blankly.
"We need a ship." Everleigh said, crossing her arms.
"There are one or two ships, absolute top-of-the-line models-"
"I don't mean to impose, but the Grandmaster has a great many ships. I may have stolen the access codes to his security system." Loki said as he looked up at them.
All of them turned their eyes to Loki.
Valkyrie threw her bottle at him and it smashed over his head.
Everleigh groaned, shaking her head lightly.
"And suddenly you're overcome with an urge to do the right thing."
"Heavens, no. I've run out of favor with the Grandmaster. And in exchange for codes and access to a ship I'm asking for safe passage...through the anus."
"You're telling us you can get us access into the garage without setting off any alarms?" Thor questioned crossing his arms.
"Yes, brother. I can."
"Okay, can I just... A quick FYI, I was just talking to him just a couple minutes ago and he was totally ready to kill any of us." Bruce said, shaking his head.
"He did try to kill me." Valkyrie pointed out to them.
"Yes, me too. On many, many occasions. There was one time when we were children, he transformed himself into a snake, and he knows that I love snakes. So, I went to pick up the snake to admire it and he transformed back into himself and he was like, "Yeah, it's me!" And he stabbed me. We were eight at the time."
Loki suppressed a smile.
"If we're boosting a ship, we're gonna need to draw some guards away from the palace." Valkyrie said letting out a breath as she thought for a few moments.
"Why not set the beast loose?" Loki questioned looking over at Bruce.
"Shut up." Thor snapped.
"You guys have a beast?" Valkyrie questioned slightly confused.
"No, there's no beast. He's just being stupid. We're going to start a revolution."
"Revolution?" Bruce questioned his brows pinched concern.
"I'll explain later."
"Who's this guy again?" Valkyrie questioned looking over at Thor.
"I'll explain later."
Everleigh let out a soft groan, shaking her head lightly. "Well, let's get to work then."
Thor looked over at Everleigh. "Just like old times, no?"
Everleigh simply shook her head. "Like old times not so much." She pointed out as she looked at Thor. "This is probably the most dangerous thing that we've ever done."
Thor let out a breath. "With you and Banner, yes."
Everleigh let out a soft laugh shaking her head again. "I've done worse. Trust me. This is something that I'll relish in for a bit."
Thor's brow raised as he looked at her. "What do you mean?"
"I haven't been able to do much of anything back home. I'll explain later." She said as she went over to Loki and used her magic removing the chains that were over him causing them to float into the air and drop hard onto the ground.
"You're really going to exhaust yourself darling before the fight even begins." Loki said as he got up to his feet.
"Oh don't worry about me Loki. I'll be just fine." She mused softly moving away from him. She needed to get out of the garb that she was wearing and into something that was more comfortable to fight in.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
This is the end of Chapter 80. I hope that you all enjoyed it. I tried my best to make this chapter as long as I could, but sometimes it is fairly hard to write much of anything when muse decides to be a pain in the butt and not help any when it comes to writing. Please leave a review and let me know what you think of this part of the story. We have 8 chapters left for Ragnorok which I have to admit it a fair bit of amount left for this movie. I hopefully will update on Monday to keep on my schedule of updating. Until next time.
