Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 88 of God of Lies and Mischief and the Woman of Many Faces. This is the final chapter for Thor Ragnorok. And I have to admit that it will become bittersweet in the next chapter because we won't see Loki for a while. I am trying to figure out how to plan out the whole idea of how Everleigh will be feeling about the whole losing Loki thing. But I do promise that this chapter will hopefully make up for everything that she'll go through in the future. Without further ado chapter 88. ENJOY!
Chapter 88
Everleigh stood with Thor and Valkyrie as they watched what was going on down below them as well as the others that were aboard the Ark. She closed her eyes sad as she watched Surtur driving his sword through Asgard.
"The damage is not too bad. As long as the foundations are strong, we can rebuild this place. It will become a haven for all people and aliens of the universe…" Korg said only to be cut off by the cataclysmic earthquake destroying the realm into two pieces before splintering into millions of pieces. "Nope, those foundations are gone. Sorry."
Thor swallowed the lump in his throat trying to figure out if he had made the right choice by releasing Surtur and having him destroy Asgard. "What have I done?"
Heimdall came up behind Thor and finally spoke to his prince knowing that he was having a hard time with the choice that he had made. "You saved us from extinction. Asgard is not a place, it's a people."

Everleigh bandaged her wound care in the room that Thor had assigned her on the ship. She was rather thankful that he had given her a room to share with Valkyrie. She wouldn't admit it to the dark-haired woman, but it was nice to have a woman to fight alongside with. It made her heart swell with joy to know that she wasn't the only female fighting for what was right. She let out a soft hiss through her teeth as she wiped the blood away from her midsection where she had gotten swiped at with one of the butcher's swords. She continued to clean the wound as there was a knock on the door. She didn't bother looking up thinking that it was Valkyrie coming to help her with the wounds that she had gotten and in turn help Valkyrie with hers. "Come in." She called out.
The door slid open revealing the dark-haired Prince that had told her to be safe earlier on in the battle. Loki swallowed the lump in his throat seeing the wound that she had on her side from a blade. He felt his blood boil at the thought that she had gotten hurt. "You're hurt…"
Everleigh's head shot up, her cheeks dusting with blush in embarrassment. "Loki…" She said softly, clearing her throat softly as she held the rag she was using to clean her wound.
Loki slowly came towards her. "Let me help, darling."
Everleigh cleared her throat shyly. She nodded her head weakly.
Loki carefully took the rag that she was trying to use to clean her side. "Why didn't you mention that you were injured?" He asked softly as he began to work on her side in hopes of making sure that she was alright.
"I know I should've but there was too much going on. You know how it is Loki… I was more focused on saving your people." She admitted softly as he carefully tended to her side.
"You should've told me."
She looked up into his green eyes. "And you would've done what?"
"I would've had you not continue fighting alongside us if I knew."
Everleigh bit her lip softly. "You would have told me to hide?"
"Yes."
Everleigh shook her head lightly. "I was still able to fight."
Loki touched her cheek softly making her look into his eyes. "I know, but I do worry about you." He admitted softly.
Everleigh bit her lip softly. "You don't have to."
"I felt it… your magic… you were using it after I left."
Everleigh looked down rather ashamed that she had used her magic and had depleted it more than what she should have. "I know… I knew that you probably felt it… and you weren't happy."
Loki sucked a breath between his teeth. "No, I wasn't happy about it. But I know you better than some… I know that you're willing to protect people."
"You and everyone here seem to think that… but back on Earth…" She shook her head. "I'm considered a felon."
"You never quite explain that."
"I'll explain it to you soon. I promise."
"You're a good person, darling."
"And you're proving yourself to be a good person as well Loki," Everleigh said, offering him a small smile.
"You would be the only person seeing that." He pointed out softly.
"You proved yourself today when you helped save everyone here."
Loki bit the inside of his cheek wondering what was going through her mind.

Thor stepped out onto the main deck to see a large assembly of both his people and Sakaarian refugees awaiting him to arrive. He slowly moved through his people as they parted for him. They weren't cheering, but smiling instead, bowing their heads as he walked. He walked further up to see Hulk, Valkyrie, Loki, Everleigh, and Heimdall standing next to the captain's chair.
"Your throne," Valkyrie said with a smile.
Thor stood there for a moment, reluctant to accept it, but knew that he needed to do this. He slowly sat down.
Valkyrie and Heimdall flanked him on the sides while Hulk stood behind him. Loki and Everleigh joined them slowly.
"So, King of Asgard," Heimdall said softly, causing Thor to turn around and see the thousands of people staring back waiting for him to answer. "Where to?"
"I'm not sure. Any suggestions? Miek, what's your home planet?" Thor questioned looking over to where Korg was holding Miek.
"Oh, Miek's dead. I accidentally stepped on him on the bridge, I've just felt so guilty I've been carrying him around all day…"
Suddenly Miek wiggled to life causing Korg to light up.
"Miek, you're alive! He's alive everyone! What was your question?"
Thor looked forward before taking charge of what they would be doing. "Earth it is."
Everleigh pursed her lips together knowing that this probably wasn't a good sign. Returning to Earth meant that she was going to have to hide among everyone once again. She wasn't sure if she would be able to handle it in such a way.

Loki looked out the window at the vastness of space with Everleigh next to him with her arms crossed around her middle as she looked out. He looked over at her out of the corner of his eyes seeing her brows pinched together.
Thor came up behind the two of them and looked out at the vastness of space that was around them.
"Do you really think it's a good idea to go back to Earth?" Loki questioned not looking at his brother.
"Sure! They love me there." Thor said, looking over at his brother.
"Let me rephrase: Do you really think it's a good idea to bring me back to Earth?"
Thor smiled understanding what Loki was saying. He patted Loki on the shoulder. Probably not. But don't worry, brother...I've got a feeling that everything's going to work out."
Everleigh looked out into the darkness seeing that something was heading in their direction. "There shouldn't be any other ships nearby should there be?" She questioned looking at the two brothers, having a sinking feeling form in the pit of her stomach.

This is the end of Chapter 88. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I do apologize that it was a bit of an abrupt stopping point, but the next chapter will hopefully make up for it. I know that Everleigh and Loki didn't get much time around one another which kind of makes me a bit sad since she won't be seeing him for quite a while… and she'll be heartbroken of course. I think we all know that. But this version of her… the question is should she move on from him and have another love? I'm just curious about what you guys think. I'll try to update the following Monday with the next part. Reviews help me keep going when it comes to writing. So please leave a review and let me know if you guys think she should have another love. Until next time.
